How To Make A Sig Rotator for people with multiple sigs
BuffaloHelp replied to snlildude87's topic in General Discussion
SIG.PNG is actually a folder name. It is to trick the forum thinking that it's calling a PNG file but in reality SIG.PNG is a folder name and it contains index.php with the above coding. So naturally it executes without a hitch. Please try again. By the way, you could have replied to the Sig Rotator Tutorial instead of creating a new topic. Please refrain from that next time. All "like" posts and questions should be under the same and one topic. Merging. Also check to see if you have hotlink enabled. You need to disable it or allow direct URL link. -
A forum will contain statements and point of views that you personally would not agree or see eye-to-eye. But that's the beauty of a forum. You can choose not to read and reply to a topic if you choose not to. But Xisto forum rule is when you reply to a topic, please contribute with quality and clear point of you why you disagree/agree. And at all times, use respectful tone in your words (refering to your other "comment").Just to take the counter point of your post, I can say the same thing about posting a vent in The Vent section regarding lack of quality topics created in Xisto forum to gain credits But I know you're not. I am merely making a counter point.Perhaps some topics may be far-fetched that it may seem not to be deemed to be a topic at all. And that's why we count on each and every member to create a topic that is worthy of long intelligent discussions. It is also inevitable that there will be topics that will not fit this term. But the important factor is that you keep contributing to Xisto forum. And the more we exercise of helping and building others to make better posts, soon we will not see topics that you are referring. Alright?

Becoming A Mod? Is there any way to become a moderator
BuffaloHelp replied to Jimmy's topic in Web Hosting Support
Trap17 moderating position is purely on invitation only. I was invited to join the team by previous administrator. And some time ago I invited two members to join this awesome moderating team. And with current coverage around the clock, Xisto is functioning very well given our staff are purely on volunteer bases. However life goes on and perhaps some of our moderators may move on to other things/positions. So until then, the invitation is closed. However it's always open for debate when the situation seems to fit in the future.Topic is closed. If you are the starter of this topic please PM any moderator to request open to add/modify this thread. -
See the above reply by Plenoptic The hosting credit system is generous when you are at lower credit number. However as you gain in level and hosting credits, it gets harder and harder--this encourages a poster to post lengthier contribution. As far as your credit going from zero to -4 in matter of short time (I'm assuming less than actual 4 days' worth) that is not possible. However, anything is open to an inspection. OpaQue will be notified with this issue.

Php And Disabling Html Tags how can i do this?
BuffaloHelp replied to shadowx's topic in Programming
Regretfully going off topic here.Xisto's forum, Invision, has built-in "disable HTML tags" under admin control. However, I'm sure when the admin's control is triggered it uses some reliable stripping method to cancel out the < html command > and post it as plain text. -
Please, PLEASE search the forum before making another redundant topic. Check the followings: What browser do you use The best browser in your opinion What web browser is better Check also below this topic for Similar Topics.

I am looking for a service or a script that will send online form submitted to my regular land-line fax machine. I have been searching for a while and the keywords "email to fax" returns few services but I have never heard of them. So here is what I'm thinking. I'm assuming email to fax is the best option since that's the only think I can think of. I do not know any other application that can be eaisly transferable to a fax machine. But I can be narrow in vision that I may be missing something. Please advise me if you know of better way. Secondly, these are the sites I've found to be somewhat look respectable. If you have used or heard of the following services please comment. http://www.visionlab.ca/emailtofax.html http://www.faxaway.com/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The next website is open source to run my own email to fax smtp server http://asterfax.sourceforge.net/ but do you see any limitation to it? Do you think Xisto or Xisto - Web Hosting can handle/allow this script (humm OpaQue? )?

If you only have 1 domain and use domain forwarding option from your domain DNS control, (using Xisto as an example) here is how it goes: your current sub-domain (because you did not registered Xisto hosting with a domain) sub-domain.trap17.com your domain forwards to "forums" folder of your sub-domain.trap17.com when your domain is called, i.e. yourNewDomain.com it will go to sub-domain.trap17.com/forums and NOT yourNewDomain.com/forums <-- just a syntax thingie. But your borwser URL will show yourNewdomain.com/forums. This is because you can only use either nameserver change or use domain forwarding under your domain DNS control, not both.

You should know by now (judging by your posting count) you should be familiar with our forum and its search feature. All answers are in Xisto Readme but to close this topic here are quick instructions.1) access your domain control and change nameserver tons1.trap17.comns2.trap17.com2) you can then either park your domain to your hosting account or use the process page to change your domain name of your hosting account. The difference between parking and addon are located in the Host Members Area topic. Changing your hosting account to your domain name has no difference at all but at your personal preference.3) wait between 24~72 hours for your nameserver change to be propagated, and your domain will be properly tied to your hosting account.

Problems With Ftp Cant upload files with ftp protocol
BuffaloHelp replied to Lyon2's topic in Web Hosting Support
If Xisto's FTP upload speed is an issue I'm sure by now we've heard from all hosting members.I have tested using my ISP to upload 7mb file using FileZilla and the average upload speed was around 342kbs (my maximum upload speed is set by Verizon at 360kbs).I do not see that speed as slow... please try different FTP software, especially FileZilla and see if it's something else other than just for Xisto. Was your speed an issue recently? This is the first time and the only case where I've seen upload speed question in this forum. -

Redirecting Or Forwarding Subdomain To Domain just a thought

This topic has been discussed already but since it's so hard to find my own answer (after 1900+ posts later I forget where it is) I will post it here. There is no actual difference between having a sub-domain of Xisto and parking your domain VS activating Xisto hosting with your domain in the first place. The only advantage I see by having a sub-domain is when you change your "main" domain (you decided to go with another domain name to be associated with Xisto because you didn't like the name of the first one), instead of spending 15 hosting credits to rename/change your domain name, you can simply unpark and park your new domain.Otherwise parking a domain name and having your domain registered have no difference at all.

Problems With Ftp Cant upload files with ftp protocol
BuffaloHelp replied to Lyon2's topic in Web Hosting Support
It isn't fair to say Xisto seems slow, that the same program which is fine for other hosting service is only different with Xisto hosting. The main question I have is have you tested with the same file size with different hosting FTP upload? If you have tested Xisto and other hosting you have with the exact same file size, and Xisto seems to be slower, perhaps try using FileZilla as your FTP client. SmartFTP and WS_Pro, in the past, was proven that it lacks the understanding of some of new server's protocal to connect properly. There are few other reasons why certain hosting may seem to have slower transfer speed. First is your ISP upload speed. Your ISP upload speed isn't always as fast or reliable as your download speed because most ISP spends more resource (bandwidth) to send to your computer rather than from your computer. This is because, i.e. broswer, request for internet connection is very small and short, but the content that was requested might contain images and huge text length. Thus, ISP spends more resource for downstream than upstream. This leads to the second part. Upstream (upload) speed is sometimes throttled and not constant. This explains why it would seem fast in the beginning and then slows down.Try uploading the same file size to all other hosting service that you have and compare to Xisto. And most of all, try using FileZilla because it seems like FileZilla is without any restriction when it comes to pure FTP experience. -

It's not that the topic already exisits, it's the fact that you lack the patients for forum search. However, if you can't find it I have few links for you here: Free domain discussion Free .info domain Giving away .org or .info contest As per forum rules, please name your title with little more thought and post in the right section. Freebies section is NOT to post for questions but informing of free things already existing. Also pay attention to "SIMILAR TOPICS" under every topic. It shows all related posts with similar interest/topic. That's another reason topic title is important! Topic title edited and description filled in!
