  4. Your site was un-suspended manually. All hosting related requests should be posted under Questions and Queries. Please provide your cpanel when requesting for help. The topic title is confusing. Are you asking for your account to be cancelled or do you want to cancel due to your work load?
  5. When you request for assistance like this, always provide your cpanel name, your site and your current hosting credit count. So what's your full story? When was your site suspended and was it due to lack of hosting credits? If so, when was the time you brought it up to above 4 and waited about 1 hour for the result? And what's your current hosting credit count?Have you also checked your chmod settings for your public_html and .htaccess?
  6. I have no idea what went on, but it would have been nice to left it alone to help other members in the future.Oh well... topic resolved and closed.

  9. Complete false! Ads on Xisto is there for few visitors we have on Xisto forum. The free web hosting is actually funded by Xisto - Web Hosting plans purchased. Posts are only counted towards those forums which can contribute well constructed posts and replies made within the topic. Few other areas have been either less active or prone to spam. Therefore, they were selected to be NO POST COUNT. Until members can demonstrate *all* forums can be sustained for quality posts, I'm afraid we will have few NO POST COUNT zones. This is another reason why moderators are teaching all members to post accordance to Xisto rules. And it is why all member should help and build each other to create excellent posts. Xisto can only sustain free web hosting *AS LONG AS* Xisto can be ranked high on all search engines, such as Yahoo and Google. To achieve this, the only way is to be marked, paged, cached by mighty search engines is to create topics with quality contributions. Remember, quality is the key and not quantity. Topic title is also very important followed by topic description.
  10. Topic resolved and now closed.Just a quick question, True2Earn are you able to view your website? Your domain does not show any page and I'm not sure if the suspension is still in effect. Please PM me with your reply.
  11. Avalon! You have done it again. Your signature caught my eyes almost immediately. And who can forget that classic arcade game?! Nicely done. I'm not saying that animation will always have my vote, but doing something extraordinary always puts one over the top. PS as summer approaches, perhaps SOTW can slow down a bit? Maybe SOTW can be held every other week or so. Someone disputed that won't be SOTW but I don't see anywhere that says SOTW has to be a weekly event either
  12. Canon has already started with this idea portable DTE recorder serveral years ago. However the price one must pay for this is not so appealing to consumers as of today. The marketing price is around $1100 USD but the consumer target price is around $500. This means, an average Joe is not willing to fork over more than $500 for the convenience of portable hard drive recording technology. I believe that the future of any portable storage medium rests on stabability--this means the less moving parts there are, the less prone to a failure. Solid state storage, such as flash card, is the wave of the future. I currently have two Sandisk's 4GB Ultra III CF card with dual modulator (that can use two CF cards as back to back RAID, see figure 1) can hold 4 hours of video in high definition quality. This makes it easier to transfer 4 hours worth of video as if it was an 8GB file, rather than 4 hours of transferring via firewire to my PC in real time. Solid state memories can withstand up to 9 G's and they rarely fail due to everyday usage. Therefore, I would use higher capacity of flash memory verses any conventional rotating drives. It won't be long until you start to see 20GB+ SD cards or CF cards. Figure 1
  13. adriantc,Thank you for your generoisty. Although Xisto does not require or request for donation I'm sure every bit helps Xisto and OpaQue very strongly :)Please contact OpaQue directly and find your arrangement. Xisto has accepted donations in the past.
  14. Thank you OpaQue for working through the night and making sure that the Process scripts are working correctly. All free web hosting applications have been reviewed and have their appropriate answers. I'd like to thank also those members who patiently awaited for this day.
  15. I didn't think it will be divided like this clear cut throat... :)Hosting credits will be awarded once the Process script is fixed. It could be as late as this Friday. Tom, you will not be able to receive credits since you're not in the hosting group yet. However, in the future should you decide to host with Xisto you will have this award.UPDATE: June 29 1:02PM (GMT-5)I have awarded truefusion and saint_michel with 25 and 15 hosting credits, respectively.
  16. Similar thread discussing the same site already started here http://forums.xisto.com/topic/23902-open-source-web-design-templates-for-everybody/ Continue your discussion regarding OSWD there. Please search the forum before making a redundant topic.
  17. I apologize for delay of my response. Although site admin will have genuine reason(s) why your account was to be suspended, I would also consider that supporting Xisto hosted member is also in serious ranking on the list. Therefore, I made override on server admin's suspension and reanimated your account. This is under one condition that you double check your script and two domain user(s) that your mailing function/script isn't faulty. Double check that you are not sending out what *might* be considered as spam or mass emailing. If this would to happen again, you have to wait until Xisto's complete investigation. Thank you for your patience, True2Earn. You are now free to dominate the WWW world PS. Your dissatisfaction of quick resolution regards to this matter is duely noted. However, we are trying to bring the very best of our Xisto Free Web Hosting, No Ads service to you as best as we can. Please understand and respect our services with your kind words.
  18. Excellent contribution and your contribution will be uploaded to the banner site soon! :)Thank you.
  19. Yes you did... LOL When adding a domain to your hosting, our cPanel service actually gives an option to access that folder (and that folder alone) with a seperate password. So when you use username "forums.yoursite.trap17.com" and password you assigned, it goes directory to that folder rather than public_html and then you clicking on forums folder.
  20. 1) access the domain control panel and change name servers to Xisto2) park this domain under cPanel 1) backup this folder and database is highly recommended before you begin2) access this domain control and change name servers to Xisto 3) add-on this domain under cPanel 4) enter this domain for "new domain name" 5) enter forums as the username/subdomain name 6) give a password Since it may tell you the folder is already existing, you can then delete your current forums folder and try it again (this is where the backup comes in handy). Before you begin you may want to delete the already existing sub-domain forums.plusone.trap17.com. PS, backup, backup and backup. Oh did I mention you should always backup before you begin?
  21. Once the Process page is working again, yes you can go and change your domain name tied to your hosting accout with appropriate credits. Add on domain would be your choice of selection. Add-on domain will create individual sub-folders under your public_html folder, and they can have individual files with appropriate URL address, i.e. D1.com instead of lawmatchmaker.trap17.com/D1...etc. Your visitor will never know the difference. Parking other domains to your hosting will make it to share one index page with all other domains. This is useful when you have the same domain name with different extensions, i.e. D1.com, D1.net, D1.org to show the same index page. Parking a domain name is used also to redirect old domain name to new domain name. This is the first time I'm hearing about this since web crawlers are changing just about everyday how it is searching. However, you can use robots.txt to limit the web crawlers to cache or uncache certain folders. For more on robots.txt, please search the web, Xisto forum or create a new topic.
  22. The suspended reason for your site is because of massive spam email that was originated from your site.If this is not your case, please contact the server admin at xisto.com/helpdesk and send your case. The server admin has suspended your account and only server admin should un-suspend your account. If you did not send out massive spam emails, check your codes to see if there's a bug in sending mails out.
  23. I would think you would want to first purchase a domain name, and then change your hosting to tie to your new domain (by going to the process page and change domain). This is because not only you can create your own directories, i.e. yoursite.com/folder, you can create your own sub-domain, i.e. something.yoursite.com, without any complication.Parking your domain also works but, in my opinon, it makes your sub-domain creation bit difficult to manage.
