Forum Article Search Improvement Is this possible?
BuffaloHelp replied to Mich's topic in Web Hosting Support
The searching is sorted by the last date replied, after pinned topics. Thus for this reason, not many topics are pinned unless is it crutial to Xisto forum and hosting related topics. This brings to my constant nagging of "make your topic title specific and detailed." When a member uses correct key words for naming a topic title, the more response one will get from posting a quality post. This will lead to more other members participating on a given topic, which will lead to recent replies date showing. So, to summarize when a member creates a topic that is quality contribution the more member will participate in the discussion. Then, this article will show up earlist on the search list. And thanks Plenoptic for discussing the second aspect of search forum option. -
Please Tell Some Facts About United States
BuffaloHelp replied to delivi's topic in General Discussion
What kind of facts are you looking for? The fact that US has 50 states? The fact that colors of the flag are Red, White and Blue which stands for valor, purity and justice, respectively. The US flag is also called The Stars and Stripes? There's a minimum age limit to be a president? Only the born citizen can become the president of US? Anyone can be a citizen of US as long as one goes through the naturalization process? The fact that Republicans use elephant and Democrats use donkey as their party's symbol...? Or how about the death total for American Civil War number was still greater than World War I, Korean conflict, Vietnam conflict and Persian Gulf war COMBINED?The American passtime is referred to baseball, hotdog, drive in movie theatre, cotton candy...etc. The Statue of Liberty was donated and shipped from France and assembled when they arrived just outside of New York. Highways were originally desiged by the military for war strageties--i.e. fast and direct ways to trasport military equipments--and now it's used by civilians to travel. Internet was also originally designed by US military and government to use it as secure and live exchange of battle information...Your question is too general. Are you asking for facts about US general or government specific or US culture and custom in areas general or specific? -

Agentb, I almost have to study your sig to know every little details of your sig. I like that a lot. Something's always going on even on minute details. It's very meticulously done that I almost missed the showdows on the left side that's cast by the "ink splash." Or how about what it appears to be a mirrored fractal with hexagon frames for the text?! Nicely done. -

Review this post http://forums.xisto.com/topic/3275-notice-about-your-signatures-and-avatars-read-this-can-be-affecting-your-account/ by OpaQue. I have noticed more and more signatures are either missing an image or getting too large! Xisto forum gallery is very suitable for holding your signature images. Please, please use it! What better way to show your excellent sigs with Xisto forum gallery hosting. When I find your signature missing an image I will remove it from your sig. Forum sig is a privilege and not a right. Do use them and let no image be broken or showing. This leads me to my next issue: do not, and I repeat do not exceed your signature total height. I have been sending out messages to those who have extremely huge and cluttered signatures. The forum will allow you to place quick and useful links/images but it is not intended to "advertise" all your hobbies, links, quotes etc. I would love to see all your sigs. But do use some measure of caution. I am getting really worried that your post is short and your sig is super huge. So this is your warning. Either make your every post as long as your sig or limit the total area of your sig. Please make sure that your post is not short, brief or one liner. If you feel you want to reorganize your signature but not quite sure how to take advantage of board's bbcodes, please feel free to PM me or any moderators/members. Thank you.

Actually, the request form is working perfectly fine. However, it's also showing the source code as well as running script in the same page.I believe vujsa's hosting is malfunctioning or he is fixing the server/script. Vujsa runs request form from his own hosting.UPDATEVujsa's form is up and running as usual. Topic closed.

"uptight" is bit a harsh word don't you think, or down right rude?TypoMage, tuddy and Plenoptic stay within the topic. If you were to pay attention this forum is Other Funny Stuff (No Post Count). This means you do not earn hosting credits for posting in here. Therefore, QUOTE isn't necessary unless it was a copyrighted material. And since I am still developing the HIDE tag, you'll notice that now the HIDE tag has automatic QUOTE wrap. Please stay within the topic, people. Do not digress.

Job Interview Attire Question dress for success
BuffaloHelp replied to grnjd's topic in General Discussion
I do not believe it matters what kind of style of tie knot you have. But as I was told, the color matters the most when there's a clear distinction in hierarchy, i.e. the interviewer and interviewee. I personally feel that the style of your tie knot is determined by your personality. However, windsor knot is perferred for formal occasion--it's the traditional style I believe. But the style of a knot is like asking should you were double breast or single breast jacket... I don't think it matters highly. I prefer small tie knot for a casual event. The small tie knot is 1/4 of the windsor knot, I'd say. -
I imagine opening up photo editing software could become cumbersome, especially when you are waiting for a large software, i.e. Adobe CS, to load just to resize your image. And it's hard to find a simple resizing image software, and I no longer trust "free software" anymore due to potential spyware inclusion. Well, you no longer need to worry. I accidently found a website called http://resizepic.com/ where you can upload any image from your hard drive and resize to any dimention to your choosing. There is no instruction to the website but it is very intuitive. And once you submit for a size decrease/increase and you do not like it, it will let you choose another size without uploading again. So if there is any member who doesn't want to be bother with a simple coversion with huge graphics program--like me--try this site. Probably you'll no longer get a Pm from me asking "please reduce the width of your graphic"

Gamma Server's Time Is Two Months Behind!
BuffaloHelp replied to gameratheart's topic in Web Hosting Support
I am unaware of this issue, so I searched for server time display script. <script type="text/javascript"> // Current Server Time script (SSI or PHP)- By JavaScriptKit.com (http://javascriptkit.com; // For this and over 400+ free scripts, visit JavaScript Kit- [url=http://http://www.javascriptkit.com/; // This notice must stay intact for use. //Depending on whether your page supports SSI (.shtml) or PHP (.php), UNCOMMENT the line below your page supports and COMMENT the one it does not: //Default is that SSI method is uncommented, and PHP is commented: var currenttime = '<!--#config timefmt="%B %d, %Y %H:%M:%S"--><!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->' //SSI method of getting server date //var currenttime = '<? print date("F d, Y H:i:s", time())?>' //PHP method of getting server date ///////////Stop editting here///////////////////////////////// var montharray=new Array("January","February","March","April","May","June","July","August", "September","October","November","December") var serverdate=new Date(currenttime) function padlength(what){ var output=(what.toString().length==1)? Check the below link for script in action: buffalohelp.net/servertime.shtml I am also hosted with gamma server. Let me know how this goes. -
It is said in the forum index page The key words are maintain a sufficient amount, and due to any consequences. Please make sure you know the terms of free web hosting, no ads by Xisto. I am unaware of other Xisto problems that Albus is saying. Do you mean the issue with Xisto hosting issues have been frequent in recent days? Or are you refering to Xisto FORUM database outage? Remember that Xisto FORUM and Xisto HOSTING are in two different servers. Although forum suffered database outage, your hosting was never interrupted during this period. In the past Xisto hosting database being down, I have tracked downed the spammer who was abusing our SQL and his/her hosting has been terminated. Your hosting credit will always decrease by 1 each and everyday, regardless of Xisto's forum condition. Please make a note of the above bold red quote--which is also displayed in the forum index page, just below your hosting credit number. Thank you.

Apparently some members do not know our forum rules. When you copy, anything I mean anything, from another source you *must* use QUOTE bbcode tag.Otherwise you're cheating hosting credits and plagiarizing. This topic is closed. All credits earned reversed.

cPanel Certificate alert message Has anyone else got it?
BuffaloHelp replied to hype's topic in Web Hosting Support
Since your last hosting days, Xisto upgraded the firewall and security feature that protects your hosting account. It is normal and you can have the option to install/grant the certificate once or forever. Without this permission you cannot access your cPanel. -
If you took the time to search our forum not too long ago, when you posted, someone made an offer Cheets upon request topic. Give it a try And remember to search before posting. Merging with above post.

The controversial debate on what defines a planet could bring (perhaps already did) our solar system from 9 planets to 12 planets. The current list plus proposed new planets in bold: Mercury Venus Earth Mars Ceres Juipiter Saturn Uranus Neptuen Charon Pluto Xena This new list of planets is due to redefining what "planet" is... the shape, size, material and orbit etc. It's not that new planets were discovered, just the definition has new meanings. The universe perhaps just got larger. Among other links try http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This will kill my memorization: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nice Pizza, each representing the first letters of 9 planets.

Website Coding Request

I made this custom bbcode called HIDE to hide part of your post. The usage goes like this: [hide=option]Just insert what you want to hide.[/hide] Here is an example of above bbcode. Please use your forum login name as the option. This will make the code work smoothly with multiple usage.[hide=buffalohelp]Just insert what you want to hide.[/hide] If you want to use more than one HIDE code in a single post, you MUST use it like this: [hide=yourname1]Insert the hidden text one.[/hide][hide=yourname2]Insert the hiddent text two.[/hide]This will show as[hide=buffalohelp1]Insert the hidden text one.[/hide] [hide=buffalohelp2]Insert the hidden text two.[/hide] You'll note that yourname1 and yourname2 were used. If you were to use the same option field with the same variable, only one will open and the other will not. And the reason I've made it to use your forum name is to differentiate among all HIDE codes in a topic per page. This is crucial. If you do not use distinguishable option values this is what will happen: [hide=name]Inserting code[/hide][hide=name]Inserting second code[/hide]This will show as[hide=name]Inserting code[/hide] [hide=name]Inserting second code[/hide] As you can see, the second hide code does not show and it triggers the first one. For the full list of available BBcodes for Xisto board, please visit http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?actmp;type=bbcodes A word of caution: Words within the HIDE bbcode will still earn you hosting credits. Members using HIDE to post and paste articles to gain hosting credits against Xisto forum rules will be warned immediately without exception. The earned hosting credits will also be reversed. Thanks guys and enjoy using PS there's a possibility that your browser security can block the proper function of this code. When you see a security block message "blocked active content" either allow Xisto as your trusted site or allow this script to run. That is up to you.

I ran into an interesting site called VisiBone http://www.visibone.com/ This site offers your quick guide to all your web coding needs in nicely bounded material. One interesting product I ran into was the world map of all URL extensions. It lists all 2 letter domain name by country of origin. He even lists how he came up with the map. I found it to be fascinating. Browser Book and Chart Suit reminds me of Chemistry element table chart and physics formula supplementals. It's really nicely put together, especailly color coded.

I have to go with the color scheme again. Nice combination Delivi. The color choice really makes your render to stand out. Plus, I love the gentle look of a tiger yet the silent respect that the eyes are calling for. Nicely done.
