There are different methods of backing up. You are doing file by file, exact copy instead of compressing. Some other methods includes linear backing up, backingup only the files modified, complete backup etc. When you simply copy file by file you will run into problems like premature termination of full copy due to bottlenecking. This is always the case if your computer is utilizing some of files. The second is the backing up target. Most USB external HDD are not certified as backup because they tend to "go to sleep" after a while. You'll need to check this. The third might be the improper usage of the copy command. And sometimes I recommend instead of using "copy" use "xcopy" for robust copying commands. The last check is instead of copying on the fly (or backing up on the fly), compress the source to target.

Sotw #5 - Voting Vote for your favourite
BuffaloHelp replied to Tramposch's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Nameless_ gets my vote.I don't know, I like the subtle yet simple design. The render used at your signature is definitely my favorite. Good job everyone. Yes I wish I can vote for them all. But, Nameless_ gets my vote.Good luck, everyone! -
Well, contact Xisto - Support.com/biling and request domain name CNAME record changes.Since blogspot.com is not your true hosting, you cannot "bind" your domain to your leased space, i.e. subdomain.blogspot.com. You'll need your domain to do so but unless you purchase DNS from Xisto you cannot change CNAME or any other records at will. You'll either purchase DNS control or request via support ticket.

There is a way to use one database of Wordpress and use it for two blogs--use RSS to HTML.One blog will run the original WP with database. The other blog can use RSS2HTML from the first WP RSS and voila you have second blog with the same article from the first.

Questions Concerning Ram Mixing Modules
BuffaloHelp replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Hardware Workshop
PC2 6400 RAM is 800Mhz. Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 When you mix RAMs you get less than desired performance. The easiest rule is that it takes on the slowest speed. In your case, when you mix 800Mhx with 533Mhz, they all function as 533Mhz. Normally, a RAM that was designed for faster speed should be reverse compatible. However, some RAMs are ONLY designed for particular rated speed. So do be careful. The first sign is that when you start the computer you'll hear serious beeps to tell you RAM is malfunctioning or BIOS will not recognize the full RAM size. If your system recognizes the full 2.5 GB RAM, then you are all good. Well not really but so far so good. You should perform RAM test using system tester such as benchmark testers. You don't want your RAM to fail when using your RAM to the full capacity. -
What Are The Daily Vitamins/minerals You Should Intake?
BuffaloHelp replied to wonderfullygifted's topic in Health & Fitness
While you cannot over dose from vitamins and minerals, not in the sense of drug over dose, you can intake more than what your body needs. Too much of "good" thing simply gets flush out of your system. Thus it's waste of time and money to over dose from good things. There are few things that you should not over dose such as calcium, zinc, iron etc. Because your body can react differently from having too much of certain things depend on your body's reaction. Some people can have calcium buildup and should not ingest additional calcium. Always consult with your doctor. -
You can have multiple blogs, especially WordPress, under one domain. As long as you place them under unique folder(s), i.e. wordpressfolder1/ and wordpressfolder2/Consequently, you can use these folders as usages for subdomains. When you create subdomains the cPanel will ask where to use folders. By setting wordpressfolder1 as subdomain1.domain_name.com you are all set as unique blog(s).As far as search engine goes, it's all up to them. I know that same IP address is sometimes penalized or disregarded from SEO because it's coming from the same IP but multiple domains. But, if your contents are popular, unique and continuous that could all change.

Flash Banner Ad What do you call this kinda ad?
BuffaloHelp replied to butterflydarling's topic in Programming
It looks like ActionScript event handlers, onHover or onRollover. Even it could be onmouseover. Check this site for further information. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ If you have flash decomplier you should look into original actionscript. -
There are certain times in life where a person reflects on oneself and say, "where do I fit in?" It's about the one--the one thing that makes you happy. And what is that one thing?Lost in what you should become and where you should be heading, at times is heavy burden. But, because you feel this way it does not mean you are lost. In fact, you're not the only one. I believe that it's a part of your life-part of thinking, a critical thinking process.Whatever the reasons you are going through at this moment, I can say at this stage of my life, that what others have projected on you, how you should be, what you should become, and where you should go are totally irreverent. This is not to advocate that you should not listen to them. All true seekers of life give a moment to every advice. But, knowing which ones to take and which ones to throw it away is what makes you successful in your journey. I'm not defining what a success is. I am defining what makes you a successful person by following your own road.Things and people influence your path everyday. And although they may be distractions they can be helpful as well. It's how you use these things around you to your advantage, that makes you a successful person. And I'm not just sugar coating in a way that makes everything glow like a rainbow. You have to define which road to take. You have to choose paths that will take you to your goal. Only you can let yourself be influenced in a good way or in a bad way. But it's up to you. This is your divine freedom. Wasting your life by not following what you were "meant" to do would be a mortal sin. And what were you meant to be? Only you will find out. This is the reason people seek out, study and exercise knowledge as they take the journey. On the last note, we all have this heckling "what if..." questions in our heads. The grass is greener on the other side, people might say. What if I should have done that. What could I have done it better? What if it was like this? If you are stuck on asking questions like these, you are not moving forward. Learn to break free from these life sucking questions. Part of growing up is learning to take responsibilities. Once you make a decision let your "what ifs" just fade away. And if the questions return learn to control your thoughts from these debilitating questions.

Love should not expect anything...but marriage should definitely expect a marriage. That is, it's two coming together as one. The two are joining in set of agreements to become something better than if each were alone. Like creating better pair, better spouses, better parents, better family etc. Therefore, marriage should expect these things and each partner should strive to fulfill these expectations. And before committing to this marriage the two should take the time to find if each other is suitable for these tasks. One should almost demand the quality and perform the same high quality at one's responsibility.I believe you have the utmost responsibility to find your mate so that your equal and opposite can raise your family with the same values as you. Not just making money or having children. It's about if your partner is willing to go the distance to make it work when stumble and fall. It's about if you and your partner are going to sacrifice whatever it takes to raise a child, children and give them the best of your efforts to teach them about life, about love and about themselves. It's about teaching them to be wonderful parents so that they may repeat the yearning to find the op posit half to strive for better tomorrow. So, yes, you should expect the best from your partner and you should give your best to your partner. This is how I define a marriage. It is your right to find your partner who see your value eye-to-eye and then take it to another level. It's always about advancing and not settling for status quo.

On Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 4:12pm I became a proud uncle of 5 lbs 2.5 oz. Her birth weight was low because she was born a month early from her due date. My sister went in for her regular checkup on Thursday and was ordered to check into a hospital immediately. Her blood work did not look good and so her doctor thought it would be best if she could have induced birth. There were scary moments. Her uric acid levels were off the chart, her blood pressure was too high and she was in danger. The baby was fine but the mommy wasn't doing so well. The syndrome is called pre-eclampsia which followed by HELLP. When she checked in she was doing fine without any pain or swelling. As she was injected with shots to induce labor she started to have complications. At which time, she was asked to sign bunch of papers including her consent to perform C-section. The fact that she signed possible C-section sent shock waves to family around us. Hours came and went by, the baby didn't want to come naturally. And so, she was rushed to the operating table. As she was being wheeled away I saw her shivering, shaking from just being nervous. Oh, my heart just sank. I felt so helpless. And knew that it's something she can go through alone. And knowing that she has to go through this alone made me feel even more helpless. My brother-in-law was just so supportive with my sister's needs. I am so bless to have such a caring brother-in-law. He took care of my mother, picking her up from the apartment and dropping her off while running around picking up things for my sister and for the baby. My sister didn't wake up from her surgery until early Sunday morning. She expressed how sore she was and her teeth were still chattering. I have never felt so wanting to cradle my sister; how I can somehow ease her pain. But I realized I was standing in front of a woman who gave birth and she did it all by herself. She is no longer the girl whom I taught her to put her socks on straight, no longer the girl who asked me to show her how to spell, no longer the girl who called me in the middle of the night crying because she had a fight with her boyfriend, and no longer the girl who hugged me tightly at her graduation. I was mixed with emotions that I just broke down. The miracles of life: I have always imagined it, I saw it from afar, I witnessed it from close. But, I never felt it like this. I can't wait until I hold my niece and tell her how much I adore her. My niece is still in the ICU due to her low birth weight. She is quieter than other babies but kicking and moving just the same.

I'm sorry.I didn't know you wanted to separate to each forum section.I will create additional RSS feed, taking each forum per RSS feed. I will get back to you. I want to make sure this too is alright with OpaQue. I don't want to overload forum's server. -

Instead of cumbersome batch conversion process, one can install PDF virtual driver that can interact as TWAIN compliant print driver. The benefit of PDF print driver is that one can print as PDF from any program under an operating system. It's as simple as Print > Print as PDF, which will create a PDF with adjustment to quality, layout, author information and even watermark. One such program is called BullZip, a free program, and there are other programs like this. The reliability of losing information or format is not an issue since if it can print, it will be converted. It's a virtual printer. And, best of all, it's not just Excel compatible. I'm sure there are PDF virtual driver for Macs as well.

From what I have discussed with OpaQue, it's because if we blank it out or make it go away, we're going to have massive broken links.I am still unsure if we're keeping it this way or after few years OpaQue would know if it's alright to close those sections for good.Guys, remember OpaQue is all about SEO for Xisto forums. Moderators are always focused on contents and activities. What OpaQue does sometimes does not make sense. But he has his own reasons for doing. Therefore, until OpaQue makes the forum change or notifies me to hide sections not relevant anymore, I am not touching anything.

Windows Vista and higher makes it easy to share folders or transfer files. But if you have any lesser version of Windows you will need to set both computers to be in the same Workgroup. To change your computer's workgroup, right click on My Computer > Properties > Computer Name > ChangeSet both computers to the same workgroup. You may need to restart both computers. After the restart make sure your shared folder is shared correctly. When you are ready, click on Start > My Network Places and you should be able to see each computer's shared folder. If you do no see it, wait a bit. When you still don't see shared folders it's when you post again. You probably didn't give enough permission to be shared. Or, you did not specify to File and printer Sharing for Micorosft Networks. You have to enable this by going to your network connection, right click on the NIC > Properties > General > check File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks. You may need to restart.Once the restart, click on My Computer to see if you have the little "hand" under the default sharing folder.

I too don't understand the ability that I possess. Watermonkey, do you have a problem with me that I have too much power on my hands? The question of exactly how much myCENT is being calculated is up to OpaQue because he wrote it. I don't have the ability to see the code because it's at the backend of the database. I only manage the forum not the root directory. OpaQue would not like to discuss for his personal reason, one of which when I asked he replied that he is selling similar coding to other forums with payment. Therefore he rather not tell me how it is calculated. Is finding out how myCENT is calculated that important? You can ask OpaQue, you know that. :)Since when admins are so hated that members are leaving because of us? That's too bad. I really thought we all were getting along but instead, I find out it was only pretending. I've done my best to support even the closest one to you and this is the thanks I get. I just don't know what to do more. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. It's too bad I don't have the luxury of dishing out like someone. It's hurtful, man. That's just wrong.I don't know why edits are being limited. But some people obviously abused it. OpaQue decided to make it a limited feature. And you're leaving because of this and among other things. You said your peace. I guess that is that.

Red Cross Haiti text message donation raise $7M for Red Cross Haiti effort as of 11pm, January 14, 2010 You can text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts Amazing are the human spirit; willing to give to those who are in need, so quickly and so many. It is in this we find additional strength, and faith in humanity. It is this the reason we fight to survive another day, face the unknown, because we can face tomorrow together. Blessed are those who gave so freely; knowing mere $10 would not be much but believed that in unison a $10 could turn into $100, that could turn into 1 million... bless you for having the courage to leap without concrete proof--just the faith that others will follow suit. Bless you those who stood on your feet and sent forth to the land where chaos reign. Not stopping first to think of your own safety you left to be with the ones who needed your help. You put your life at risk to save others. Your compassion for another human being compelled you to reach out. If you ever believed in god and his/her compassion, I see that through you. If you ever believed in any supernatural being, I now see why you believe. And if you did not believe in a such being, if I could describe the One it would be a lot like you. Thank you to those who are away and thank you to those who will be on your way. In times of uncertainty and harsh economic days you still gave. Thank you for giving: your time, your money, your prayer and you. I pray for my colleagues who left today heading the team Global Outreach and Convoy of Hope. May you reach your destination safely. May you go with supplies that people truly need. May you find people who are in need of attention, quickly. May you find your way back home to your loved ones, safely. May others see your nameless, selfless work and be inspired.

I don't have an answer for others but as for me, I have removed "designed by" or "powered by" from free templates only because I wanted to limit extra outbound links from my site. I do leave them hidden, such as display:hidden;or <!-- hide the link -->There is another reason I do not share the link is to show somewhat of professionalism. As I say this word I know that it's ironic to hide where credit is due--so unprofessional. Sometimes I like the template but the "mood" of my site and the designer just doesn't go hand in hand. And the designer's site not necessarily reflect the best of my type of business. In a way, I don't want to portray my site was designed by a young punk kid who plasters "death to all" on his/her site. I do realize that this too is so unprofessional by even mentioning a hypothetical situation...A nicely designed template is a good template--despite the designer. I suppose that's when I know I'll remove it. But, often all, I remove "designed by" or "powered by" because I can, and I want to be exclusive with my site and links.

Right, keep telling yourself that. In the perspective from the law makers, there were elected to protect citizens. And one means of protecting citizens is to establish basic, if not, or specific guidelines that may effect large numbers of people. When those few are impaired from whatever endangers others with a device/item that can cause potentially great harm, then it's up to law makers to remove that "threat." So, the question is, "using any inhibitors put others in danger?" I say inhibitors in a general sense of blocking natural function of sense. I have been on the road many times where people swerve in and out of the traffic lane because they were fumbling with the radio, flicking the cigarette, talking on the cellphone, dozing off from cold medicine and yes because they were high. I sure don't want to be in a traffic accident because someone wasn't paying attention. And narcotics have shown higher percentage distracting proper reactions. Well, that's my point of view. I am not judging the actual usage of pot is good or bad. But when a pot user decides to get behind the wheel and endanger other people's lives, that's when I have a problem. And I'm sure there are other million reasons why I don't want to be affected by those who disregard my boundary, my safety... But the real question is, are you sorry that you got caught? "Finally got caught" sounds like you thought you were never going to be caught by anyone. Perhaps you felt you were invincible from the police or maybe you were not like the other pot using junkies? I think anything that takes you away from doing your job, living your life, relating to other people is a bad thing

Spam Emails, From Trap17 Visitors
BuffaloHelp replied to Soviet Rathe's topic in Web Hosting Support
Our forum is very, very popular and high in PR. Therefore, you will get weirdos and attract them just about all the time.Moderators are doing their best to regulate those spammers. Although we are doing our best sometimes it cannot be managed 100% completely because they are sending PMs manually. That means, there's actually a real person sitting behind that username, sending you their copied message. So, it's actually sad to think that people are sending spam messages hoping to get "lucky"--for lack of better words. We will use IP ban as the last resort if the same IP is coming up as spammer over and over again. In the mean time, you can use "block user" or "ignore user" from your control panel.
