  1. kira423,You'll need to work on a new bbcode tag to get your google chat badge to work. Because the default security for IPB3 is to disable any HTML codes in your sig. By creating a new bbcode you can bypass that security. However, I am still working on the google chat badge in case any injection can occur. Remember, by creating this bbcode it opens up for hackers to inject malicious codes.
  2. The best way to start your company, separating your money from the company's money (sole purpose of federal and state taxation) is start with D.B.A. (doing business as).It allows you to create a separate entity apart for you and removed any personal liability from getting sued or etc aside from having your company name, paid to your company name, write checks in your company's name etc.DBA is cheap to create and it is the most commonly created business entity. As low as $35 you can simply go to your town or city hall and register your business name (as long as it's not taken). Simply bring a proof of ID, proper tax ID or EIN and the correct form of payment (my city hall only accepts cash).EIN (employee identification number) is free from IRS. You can tie your personal social security number to your DBA but some people are not comfortable with writing and showing their social security number to some public officials. So you can create EIN using your social security number. EIN will be issued to you and only IRS knows the tie between two numbers. Submit your EIN when registering DBA can be reassuring your social security number does not fall into the wrong hands. EIN takes few hours/days to create (registering with IRS on line and possibly waiting to hear back from them, although I seem to remember getting mine almost immediately). So get your EIN before registering DBA.Once you've created your DBA, bring the certified DBA paper(s) to your preferred bank and create a bank account for your company. Voila, congratulations you have now created a company that can accept payments in your company's name.
  3. UPDATELooks like the forum ads are back. That means it's time for OpaQue to write that special code allowing registered members to not to see forum advertisements. This also means our forum will go through another pause, slowness of the forum load/function. Please be advised and thank you for your patience.
  4. Yes. I share frustration with you all. OpaQue will keep his word and add myCENT to your account just as he promised. You'll be flooded with myCENT all at once. But in the mean time, you have not earned any myCENT and you are faced with your invoice. Although paying out of your pocket just this time was what I asked of you... but I also understand that "that" wasn't the deal. And we are in the middle of upgrading the forum earlier than anticipated and so... what do we do...Again, try sending them an email asking for some grace period. I know that paying customers get up to 3 reminders (one per each late week) before the account is suspended. I am not sure of free web hosting accounts. However, asking for some grace period wouldn't hurt. I am not saying they will allow your account to laps in payment. But it doesn't hurt to ask for small extension to your invoice--if you find yourself unable to pay otherwise.
  5. I do not condone any late payments, but if you are completely bottomed out just wait for few days. Xisto - Web Hosting will send you another invoice (2nd notice). You'll have until then to pay in full.In the mean time, submit a support ticket explaining your situation and that you're waiting for myCENT to be deposited to your account. But I have to ask, you have zero balance currently and you're expecting earnings of enough myCENT to pay off both accounts? Really...? It's just that in 1 week you can earn enough myCENT to pay both invoices...Anyway, what you can do for this billing period is to pay with your PayPal or other form of payment. That should keep your account to the current and no worries in suspended hosting accounts. And once this billing is over you'll have your myCENT to pay for the next. That would be the best solution.
  6. Toolbar is alright, I suppose. I'm sure it's what web 2.0 is all about. And yes, I personally do not care for toolbars but it is helpful for new users of this forum. I guess it's a draw.I second the notion that we should have the ability to disable the toolbar. Maybe I can list wibiya.com as part of blocked sites. Perhaps even as far as editing my HOSTS file to reject the loading. And I will still stress, even after my demonstration against the toolbar, it is a very nice tool for the forum to promote our forum for new users.
  7. I think it was just a matter of time facebook sold out to the almighty dollar. We've seen how myspace started to sell information for those who were willing to pay the top dollar. And the advertisements were rotated around the keywords found in your information box--like you like this TV show and the ads will show another show related to your content. It's no big deal--until 3rd party advertisers started to send you messages and you started to get weird emails asking you to try few things from them. Yes, I had hundreds of emails like that.Facebook, seems like, it's in the similar path. The promise of keeping your information safe was just the face to get you join their services. Once you've joined either you had to become an expert immediately, otherwise you were faced with endless notifications and emails just because you forgot to uncheck or check certain settings. It's really annoying. And the recent reports that your hidden conversations between friends became completely public to your other friends... I can't believe that facebook programmers "forgot" about the bug in the code. Probably someone used your information and didn't turn off the security setting after harvesting your infos. Bottom line is that don't put anything in there that you wouldn't want people to see (no matter how private you set it as), because someone will see it eventually. On the side note, don't post your daily habits or plans. You never know whose reading because not only your friends might read but their "friends of friends" will see it as well. Don't forget to change your settings and don't post too much. We're getting out of control with broadcasting just about everything from I just woke up, I just took a shower...to...I just took a dump... Let's keep some things to ourselves.
  8. Is it just me? The forum is slow to load again since the bottom user toolbar...
  9. When you click on your myCENT value, it links to your Xisto - Support.com/billing login page.
  10. We are in the middle of the forum upgrade and perhaps the email didn't go out in time. I will validate you manually.

  11. The forum was loading very slow for me for past 4 days. I'm using FF. And I know your frustration. But today, it's loading very fast and better than v2.x, in my opinion. And it's because OpaQue had to disable a lot of unnecessary codes such as unused ajax features, turn off unwanted php optimizers etc. And while he was adding and upgrading additional features, he had to disable or put the server on the slow mode. Otherwise every time he wanted to upload a file to make it work he would have to wait for server to respond back. And it's not easy when 100 or more users are refreshing/loading the page and causing the server to become busy. You get the idea.
  12. web_designer, reading your previous post I tested REP point and it works fine under FF. I'm not sure if IE has some issues. And reading your later post, you figured it out by just clicking on the + sign on the lower right (mentioned at the start of this topic).Besides the default value issues, I think we're getting the forum loaded faster now. We are still thinking about the PM storage but you can always delete the previous messages.Again, we are going to review all default values of the forum once we are fully satisfied with forum's functionality.
  13. I should also add that the max dimension is 465px X 100px. Sorry TF. But I'm sure you'll get it right.web_designer, nice entries. I'm looking forward to many more inputs and suggestions! Keep those coming, guys! Looks awesome!!!PS, too bad we can't do like a random logo or rotating logos... HARK!!! perhaps our sig rotating script that we wrote in this forum might come in handy.. ??!!??
  14. I feel like the whole netbook market is just to make people buy more stuff.Using over produced parts, slap some new processor, hard drive together, they are marketing a device of the tomorrow with yesterday's technology.I think iPads and other personal portable pads are the future. But with their price tags of $499 or more it is no wonder netbooks are still popular and wanted by many users. Devices like iPads last up to 6 hours, touch screen based with almost instant ON. Windows still takes time to boot like it was a miniature laptop with power hunger. And so with this in mind I say there's no such good, better or best netbooks out there. There are just netbooks.Don't get me wrong. I love the ultra portability and love the fact that I can do many more things with netbooks. I manage systems and networks remotely so I really like the idea that I can carry around small yet powerful device to manage my tasks which iPads can't even begin to wonder about. I just hate to be taken advantage because the manufactures still want to watch for their bottom end--get rid of older and scrap parts before producing the device of 22nd century. I would love to see a device featured in Star Trek The Next Generation TV series--small about 5 x 7 display with touch screen, holds gigs and terabytes of information and can be synchronized to the main computer at a touch of your finger. And is as thin as the current iPad--but with better operating system.
  15. The default of the new forum version 3 has spam fighting measures--such as limiting total allowed posts per day. This is just a default value, there are other things like limiting the number of images allowed in your signature.Currently we are working on the functionality of the forum--speed, error etc--and so this value is not adjusted as of this post. Please know that once we have made the forum to load and run smoothly we will review many, many default settings and values and will adjust to OUR needs; not what IPB script tells us :)Keep those testing results coming! You guys are the best beta testers I've seen in a long time. I especially appreciate testings done by web_designer for the facebook integration. Keep up the good work everybody!
  16. web_designer,Please use Sky's base template. You're missing the small light blue bar at the top. This matches the stretch of rest of the header.
  17. Thank you all for your interest and comments. The logo is anything goes. Design, submit and let our members decide :)As long as it blends in with the current theme and colors, I believe it should be okay. For example, you don't want to have it it all red when the background is deep blue. So if you design it to fade to blend in with the dark blue, I think it will be alright.I got the render form our home page. And yes on render. Follow anwiii's suggestion if you like. Keep those suggestions coming and submit your works.
  18. Topic is resolved. Please PM any moderator to continue this discussion. Until then, this topic is closed.
  19. Xisto Support staff Karan replied that your ticket was answered and resolved with the solution you accepted.I am closing this topic, making it resolved.Thank you.
  20. Auto merge may not be on. It was working but I think it's turned off because OpaQue is still working on the forum upgrade. He may even not turn on the feature at all. But basically, if your post is the last and you post again (without editing) it will merge to your previous post automatically. But since it's turned off, you can't see it in action.
  21. Welcome back and welcome home Kubi!!!Thank you for serving our country and defending for those who cannot defend for themselves (myself included). I'm glad that you made it back healthy and that no harm has come to you.Don't worry about the job. They should know better not to mess with any military service personnel. They will get what's coming to them!!! It's the law.
  22. This is open to all graphic designers :)Design the new logo for this forum. Your entry should be in .png, .jpg or .jpeg. I would prefer to be in .png.You know the dimension of the image size by downloading form the forum's logo. The current logo is by me just to replace the default logo. You don't have to stay to the similar style. This is open and we're open to your own design. So submit your designs and good luck!
  23. I took Sky's idea and uploaded a TEMP forum logo. Now now guys, this is just a temp logo--so don't flame me for not doing a good job. It's late and I'll try to do it better the next logo.Until OpaQue says otherwise, I'll keep this on so that we don't have the default logo showing. Okay?
  24. The easiest way is to make your "N" network mimic the same IP scopes as your "S" network. For exmaple,if your "S" network is 10.10.10.10 ~ 50, with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, and gateway 10.10.10.1set your "N" network to the same IP range. This way, when you set your laptop to Static IP, whether you are connected to "S" or "N" network you are using the same subnet and gateway. It's also a good idea to set your laptop outside of the IP scope. For example, set your laptop to 10.10.10.5 (outside of the DHCP so no IP conflict will happen if other device(s) are connected).
  25. Your left over balance will remain until you pay off. I'm sure they can wait about 1 week for you to pay. As soon as OpaQue activates myCENT, your accumulated earnings will be added very quickly. And you can pay off the remaining balance.Fixed myCENT alignment. Still deciding on how to align insignia...
