  1. truefusion gets my vote! I am lately drawing towards designs very similar to tf's renders/designs. I recently helped a friend of mine design a cover and used similar background to design covers. She really, really liked it and I was very pleased with the outcome. I think it may be the fad of this year...Tramposch, keep up the good work! GFX Crew you guys are doing great!!!
  2. I get the strangest feeling that window.history.back() may not be compatible with your current browser.Try this function if you must <script>function goback() { history.go(-1);}</script><input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="java script:goback()">
  3. Nice! Definitely nice! Some fresh look on sig styles. I'm sure our T17 GFX crew would like you to enter our SOTW (Sig Of The Week) contests. I really like the way you use renders. Choice of colors are definitely unique. I especially like the Spider Man sig.
  4. CV is used for international purpose as well. Many foreigners who are seeking jobs that are provided with government funds require CVs. You can say that CV is international where as resume is regional. All health care providers require to submit CVs for fellowships and positions (education), because of being one of the heavily concentrated areas of foreign applicants for the MD positions. But normally it's the culture and population. The United States is still using resume because of the number of applicants. When there are 10000 applicants for 50 or 100 positions, there's no way to read more than 1 page, let alone 2 or 3.
  5. 20 degrees incline fast pace walking for 30 minutes a day burns about 300 calories. You consume about 200 less calories per day. That totals 500 calories less intake.500 calories (negative) x 7 (days) = 3500 calories. This is about 1 lbs of fat. So if you do this every week, you should lose 1 lbs per week. This is governed by your daily calorie intake. You need to find out what's your intake and adjust to your diet. For example, if you are suppose to take in about 2800 calories per day according to your age, height, body weight etc, you should not eat more than 2600 calories and do fast incline walking for 30 minutes (or more if you can take it).Do not consume too much water as water will "show" as body weight. As always, moderation is the best diet and weight control.
  6. I have not tested your code but ../../ is redundant. ../ goes to your root directory (public_html) by default. You're calling it twice. And I'm not sure if you should combine POST with your variable assignment. Again, I have not tested out. What I do know is $section_name = $_POST['section_name'];$folderpath = "../content/$section_name";mkdir($foltherpath);Should work because I use it that way in my script.
  7. I think by now, RSS feeds and intertwining of popular social network sites are fairly easy. Unless a newbie has asked please keep these postings as minimal as possible.
  8. What's the URL to log in? If you are uncomfortable to post it in public please use PM. And what login system/CMS are you using?
  9. If you wish to discuss a topic/issue please contribute with your own words. If you feel that your topic deserves another chance, please post it in the proper section, i.e. TrapO'nion.com - your VOISE, and use your own words.Topic is resolved.
  10. I'm not sure if previous page rank was 5 for Xisto, but currently Xisto's page rank is 4. So if you found that it was ranked at 3, then the PR calculation is different from one place to another. Can't be sure which site really provides the correct PR value. Depending on where you check your page rank it is certainly true that PR value will change. I used http://www.checkpagerank.net/ If you have not set URL rewrites, sometimes http://forums.xisto.com/would have different PR than just Xisto.com (in this case, it's not but in the past few of my domains did have different PR values). This basically shows that some sites only count link popularity rather than calculating the actual PR formula. And does PR formula really matter, when the total number of link popularity determines a PR value? backlinkcheck.com/ shows levels where popular links are being "grouped." Google, MSN and Bing are practicing some sneaky tactics. If your IP and search terms fit into regional stuff, let's say keywords to your site, it shows up higher than if you were in a different region. Case and point, my friend's website slicktom.com/ is barely 1 year old with PR2. Funny thing is we never worked on SEO or anything. It was just built and launched. HTML is dirty and contents are all copied. Yet it shows PR of 2. When we search "slick tom" from Buffalo, Time Warner ISP, his website always comes up as 2nd or 1st place. But, I hop in to a proxy or outside of "regional" IP address, his site is at top 40. Never reaches top 25 yet. Google provides regional related searches first, then most requested, followed by most likely according to IP address and location relevant. So, is PR and search rank important to Google and other search engines? I don't think so. Google provides unrealistic search ranks and PR values because Google themselves do not advocate PR any more. Google scraped PR tools because they found webmasters were focusing only at this value and not paying attention to the contents--the prime initiative when Google was first launched, searching contents.
  11. No. If your topic has been deleted, it will show up as Board Error and no longer can find the topic.Your link still works, however nothing gets loaded. This is for OpaQue to look into.No again. I take that back. OpaQue does not need to look into this. I'll look into this one.
  12. Trap17 hosting accounts have directory index order. They are .htm, .html .php in the order of first priority.Remove any index file and then test out your file again. Make sure your file extension is named corrected as well.
  13. All hosting providers will act differently when it comes to "binding" your domain name to their server(s).Changing your NS record will not let you customize MX or CNAME records. When NS is used to point to your hosting account, it's the hosting account that takes over your MX and CNAME records. So to use different hosting account with one domain you should not change your NS records. To create a sub-domain called "test" and point to another hosting account, simply create a new A record called test (or sometimes you'll have to create a full URL) and enter the IP address to the hosting you want to point to.Contact the hosting provider and ask them to bind your sub-domain to their hosting account. Usually they should be able to connect your sub-domain to your hosting account by editing DNS zone at their end. But will they comply? It's up to them. Not all domain controllers will allow you to do this. At least with GoDaddy's control account you can create sub-domains using above method and you HAVE to create subdomain under your cpanel. This is where other hosting companies will deny your binding request. Unless your entire account is tied to your hosting, they will not simply bind sub-domain to your hosting account.
  14. Keep it simple, when possible. If you can create the image with opacity built-in, i.e. PNG, you should always opt to do so. I believe IE8 supports PNG even in transparency mode. For some reason, my IE7 supports it as well. Test your transparency using this site http://entropymine.com/jason/testbed/pngtrans/ If you can do transparency, you can adjust to your opacity. While there are people still with IE6 or even older, Yahoo, Bing, MSN have been very successful at alerting the changes and converting many users. And as people buy newer PC's this year, hopefully opacity would not be an issue. Just the other day Google announced that they will stop supporting for IE6 or older. If Google is dropping the support for older browsers it's safe to say that you can start coding for IE7 or higher compatibility.
  15. Many things and situations you'll need to consider. First is making sure all your links are in order. I'm assuming you currently have a sub-domain (you should always specify your situation and then ask questions), and then either park or add-on this new domain? If your current website has "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ dot com..." in HREF tag parking or add-on will be useless because it will be redirected to your sub-domain. If you have a database, unless you change your cpanel username, it should be alright. Your database's prefix depends on your cpanel username. The next thing is if your database related script calls for script path to your sub-domain you may have an issue if you decide to drop your sub-domain. Otherwise, I do not see any immediate problem. Perhaps someone else can foresee the issue in their next reply. As mentioned above, it depends on how your database is calling your scripted forum. Normally, you can change your "forum path" by going into the control panel and simply changing it. Other than database prefix, i.e. cpanel.username_databasename, you will not have any issue. To make your new domain part of your existing sub-domain I would suggest Parking your new domain to your hosting account. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ is a great place to start learning about javascript and CSS driven menu effects. Their open source codes will teach you at the same time get you started immediately. My suggestion is using CSS and a:hover to achieve your mouseover affect. I think it's the best way to do it with limited knowledge.

  17. 99.99% of the times, or perhaps 100%, Unix or Linux server will only provide PHP support. ASP is for Windows server only. ASP is Windows version of server side script. In order to have both PHP and ASP (if possible) you should first go with Windows hosting plan and beg, I mean beg, for PHP installation on your hosting. This is to answer your topic title. You cannot have two hosting, meaning two different hosting accounts, for one domain. Once a domain is parked or add-on to one hosting account, it cannot be bound to another hosting account. The second hosting account will simply reject it, even if you own both hosting accounts. This is to protect your domain name. A case and point, Google parks its domain name to their server, but I come along and force Google.com to be add-on to my Xisto hosting account. It cannot be done and it should not be done. Get the point? The difference between parking and add-on domain is very little if you are going to have a sub-domain as a start. If you are registering a new hosting with a domain name, you cannot park or add-on this domain name to your own hosting account. Again, if you start a hosting account with a sub-domain name, this option my apply. If you start your hosting with a domain name you don't have this option. If you have another domain name and want to utilize one hosting account, Parking offers different result than Add-on. Add-on offers hosting multiple domain names with one hosting account. Parking a domain shares the same web pages with multiple domain names.
  18. There's no real difference between Parking and Add-on for SEO purpose. Some people prefer to have TLD (Top Level Domain) for brand name recognition. When you started your website with a sub-domain by Xisto, and later you purchased TLD for your own purpose you have the option of Parking or Add-on your domain name. But you also have the option of changing your hosting account to be tied with your domain name instead of sub-domain. Some people feel the sub-domain draws enough web traffic that if it were to be "lost" or "disconnected" it would be an inconvenience to visitors. Some people feel it's a necessary change. By using Parking or Add-on, you might say that you have two domain names--one sub-domain by Xisto and one TLD. Again, this is for your own reason and perhaps nothing to do with SEO.Parking a domain and Adding a domain behaves no differently when you keep your sub-domain. Your links will work the same, your database will work the same, etc. You just have to remember that all your database prefix will start with your sub-domain rather than TLD, i.e. someone.trap17.com would be someone_db name because your cPanel username is given with your sub-domain prefix. And even you drop your sub-domain it would still be the same prefix (because it's the same hosting plan). If you want to organize and start using your domain name, domain name as prefix and cPanel username etc, you could start a new hosting plan using your TLD. Discontinue your sub-domain hosting plan as soon as you are satisfied your TLD is ready to be launched. You can even keep your sub-domain long enough to alert your visitors of redirect/new site. All these are up to you.
  19. There's a difference between letting your voice be heard, and repeating the same discussion over and over again. We have two different forums to reflect two different styles and focus. If we were to mirror the two forums the same, why have two forums in the first place? Why not combine both into one, and have advanced technical discussion sub-topics instead? Each forum is governed differently. Same TOS and AUP but moderated differently when it comes to forum activity. In the past we have had members who say they were moderators/advanced members in Xisto and demanded the same position at Xisto. These were denied. Earning a certain privilege here does not carry that person to the other forum. Because, two forums are different in the foundation. Xisto is general, gaming and technical forum. Xisto is technical, advanced and some general forum with very little gaming discussions. OpaQue set two forums apart in hopes that they attract vast range of participants. And just as though a forum from another community follow different board rules, Xisto and Xisto which under the same member of Xisto follow different board rules.Another aspect of Xisto--they really don't care about ranks and titles. This is not to say Xisto is superficial in any way. Members who are trying to escape from the tyranny of labels and names gather to Xisto in hopes that their intellects bring accord with one another. Some people prefer to be around ambiance of Xisto for the simple fact that replies will be intelligible. And majority of Xisto members are not in it for myCENT. Very little of members are hosting through Xisto. If a new member joins Xisto and finds him/herself focusing on hosting needs, we actually direct him/her to join Xisto. And because credits earned while in Xisto should be transferable, we made myCENT to be collectable between Xisto and Xisto. It's not because two forum should be as one.
  20. Apparently not. I thought Print was this and Echo was that... My understanding was that Print will output without parsing php codes, making <?xml ... easier than let's say echo "<?xml... which PHP will try to parse. According to other discussion boards and benchmarks, echo is faster output than print. They both parse php codes, i.e. Print "Hello $name"; Will show the value of $name rather than the actual $name word. I always thought the output of this similar would show Hello $name but I am wrong, as I read other discussions. The major difference between Print and Echo is that Print can return a value. Whatever that means, if you would have to ask that question, according to a forum, you'll never need to use it. So Print can be viewed as a function where it can return a true/false value but it's not classified as a function--it's a command. Other than that, nothing special. So use echo instead of print.
  21. Usually, under local condition, your error reporting is turned off. Therefore, you do not see the error message through your hosting account.PHP's execution cue is "<?" Therefore, normal XML encoding declaration will not work as PHP file.Instead, you can use PRINT function to display the encoding, so that <?php print"<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>"; ?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd;<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml/ ; xml:lang="en" lang="en"><head><title>J L-ectronics.com - Home</title><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../resources/css/main.css" /><link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="J L-ectronics" href="../resources/rss/main.rss" /><link rel="icon" type="favicon" href="../resources/img/favicon.ico" /><link rev="made" href="mailto:contact@jl-ectronics.com" /><meta name="keywords" content="J L-ectronics, J L, JL, J, ectronics, lectrinics, electronics, news, hardware, operating system, software, utility, application, internet, research and development r and d, rd, r&d" /><meta name="description" content="We cover a wide variety of topics and resources on electronics. 22. The Owner/Group assignment is higher than your privilege level causes some files to be out of reach when editing/deleting.This usually happens when a file is created internally, like installing a script and the script installation unpacks and write a new file using improper or older writing program. You can double check the Owner/Group policy by using a FTP client, i.e. FileZilla, and scrolling to the right most to see the Owner/Group value. Comparing to other files, Owner/Group that are different from files you can manipulate are out of your reach--created internally--and that can be removed only by higher permission level. If an analogy can be drawn, your hosting is shared hosting under a Linux system. Therefore, your hosting account (or can be viewed as your folder under the Linux system) is not able to delete system files of Linux system. Better put, it's like guest account or limited account of Windows logon trying to delete Programs files or directories. The hierarchy of the file structure and permission prevents from deleting files due to security permission level. When an internal script creates a file sometimes the security level excludes the original creator and the default user gains the permission.
  23. Are you trying to insert javascript on each post as it appears? Or, are you trying to insert javascript as a footer, header? You can insert your javascript in item.php of your THEME, insert between anywhere you wish to attach. You can insert your javascript header, head or footer files. In your admin panel, you can add a custom box for any HTML codes (not tested with javascript from my end). Just go to Appearance > Widgets > and drag TEXT to the sidebar. Then, you can insert any HTML code which will be used on every sidebar.
  24. This is so much better than the remake of "We Are The World". Why not make this into a song? I can see some authentic, Bob Marley influenced, "One Love, One Life" beat.
