You can achieve the kind of effects you're looking for by searching DHTML or dynamic HTML.dynamicdrive.comI just wished what you're looking for. Is the content in a 300x250 space to be scrolling, picture, ads, fading-in and out, etc? Depending on what you're looking for dynamicdrive.com probably has scripts for your needs. I found a scrolling news message that can be set with x seconds for slight pause. I can modify the script so that I can preload all messages and change them according to months. So I can display messages 1~4 in January, 5~9 in March, 10~13 in July...etc. You get the idea.

I personally do not have a working experience with the model mentioned. But I used to have hybrid models like DSC-H10. I believe they were once called semi-pro line. I was impressed with what these semi-pro lines can do. They perform very similarly to professional lines--full manual functions and adjustments--yet the ease of point-and-shoot automatic cameras. The whole reason for this semi-pros is to take the guess work out of the equation. One minute you can decide to shoot all automatic. There's no need for guessing the proper exposure number, shutter speed or focus--just point and shoot. But the next minute you can select the manual options and take a closeup photo of a bee. And not only the operation is ease of usage, to carry this verses 3 lenses and a camera body on a trip is a back pain saver! I can tell you how many times I cursed at my equipments while I was vacationing. Sure I love to take photos. But if I can take all the photos I want and not carry my equipments, I will be the first one in line trading all my stuff. Although I am not quite ready to trade in for a semi-pro series I am getting very close to that point. The digital cameras these days are so far advanced that unless I am try to make profit with my photos or succeed as a professional photographer I think semi-pros or even some point and shoot cameras are perfectly alright.

Pos-style Shooting With A Canon Rebel Xt At Night?
BuffaloHelp replied to rayzoredge's topic in Photography
I agree with onscreen. If purchasing a genuine product is not an option at this time try the alternative. Sigma, although they claim it's not a reverse engineered from Canon, seems to be working better than any other Canon compatible lenses out there. You can adjust ISO or shutter speed but the best thing right now is to learn how to focus manually. When the automatic focus or automatic assisting is off, you'll find that the camera is ready faster than before and you can click away without any limitation. The only trouble with manual focusing is getting the sharp focus. Once you get the focusing just right you'll see the difference in picture taking time. -
Pos-style Shooting With A Canon Rebel Xt At Night?
BuffaloHelp replied to rayzoredge's topic in Photography
Also, upgrade your stock lens to faster lens--mainly F2.0 or lower value would be ideal. While F2.0 or lower can give you better and faster focusing time in the low light situation, the depth of field is very narrow. This means if you do not have the subject exactly on the focusing screen (where the red box will blink to let you know that it's focused on that portion) it would appear as though you have focused something just to the background or the foreground.Another trick is to go manual focusing with high flash photography. But this requires steady hands and knowing manual focal meter (very hard to master).More expansive but certainly worth looking into option is to invest in IS (image stabilizer) lens. Canon's IS series were designed just for occasions such as yours--not so ideal lighting situation but do not have the time to set up a tripod. IS can give you almost a full step down; if your camera requires F2.0 but your lens is only F3.5, with IS F3.5 behaves like F2.5. This is not a trickery. The lens opens the shutter slightly longer to allow more light to enter--giving you better exposed image with clearer focus. But doing this requires a tripod? No. The Image Stabilizer technology stabilizers your lens so that even if you do make a sudden minute movement during longer shutter speed, it follows the subject and keeps the inner lens steady--avoiding multiple exposure in one single frame. -
It's not only the reasons why you think they carry such lenses. If you look at professional photographers, they have multiple camera bodies with multiple lenses--not just multiple lenses. And when they are on the field they usually carry one or two; not everything to cover all range (distance). As pros, they study and plan before they head out to the field--they will not be caught dead not carrying necessary tools. 50mm lens is to be the ideal 1:1 ratio of human's view of the world. That is, it is often called the "life size" photography. Majority of field journalists carried this lens because it gave the quickest and sharpest shot that can portrait the view from first person's point of view. And since it's a fixed lens it has small profile that can be packed with any type of bags. Professional photographer, the word itself, is biased. A portrait specialist would prefer fixed lens while an event photographer prefer high powered zoom or telephoto lens. So a professional photographer who is covering a car racing event would not carry the 50mm lens. And conversely, a wedding photographer will not carry 300mm lens for indoor, tight party shots. And not all lenses must be in the range of F1.2 ~ F2.0. This give greater depth of field but also one of the hardest to get a sharp focus. And when taken during bright sunny days, lower the F stop number the higher the outcome of photos being over exposed. The trick is knowing when you are going to be and the lighting conditions, relevant to the subject you're going to be covering.

Why Is Gmail Still Beta? whats the policy behind keeping a beta version
BuffaloHelp replied to mm22's topic in The Internet
In the sense of the word, "beta" denotes some kind of risk involved when associated with usage.Maybe it's still in beta stage because Google developers feel that GMail is not a perfect product. Perhaps it will forever be called beta because it's an ever-changing product. The the other day, I logged in my Google Apps and found new module I can install in my GMail (or google app)--it's called Calendar in my GMail. This module adds quick agenda like calendar events to the side of my GMail. I usually use Google Calendar for simple reminder pop ups but if I forget to open my Calendar, the reminder is only sent via email. But by having small add-on to my side menu I can have quick glance at the next 10 events without opening up my Calendar. A very nice touch, in my opinion.Or, maybe Google calls it beta because they are not quite sure if this GMail, if takes off *LOL*, should remain free or start charging small fee for Google Apps users. Or better yet, because the storage is increasing every seconds it will forever be named as "beta." -
Wpa Wi-fi Encryption Is Cracked
BuffaloHelp replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Those who can will not be hacking into your internet provider but your wireless network system. If you installed wireless router with your internet service, and enabled WPA to keep freeloaders out (as well as keeping your network safe) using various tools some people can use your wireless signal to connect to the internet. But, if they are that "smart" enough to do so, they will not maliciously hack to cause any harm. But there are those who will do and hopefully they are not living around you. For those who are able to crack WPA TKIP keys they probably have their own, and faster, ISP or yet aircard that can surf from anywhere--no need to borrow someone else's signal. And for those who are neither of the above examples are using this skill to earn some consulting jobs to demonstrate the vulnerability and suggest redundant network tap or constant surveillance of wireless and wired network system. So the average public need not to fear because those high-tech criminals are not going to be in your neighborhood hopping on your wi-fi just to do some dirty deeds--they will not be staying in one place too long, yet they will be somewhere underground or in a far offshore beach hopping on another network after network to cover their trace. Just like a hacker would not waste his/her time hacking into a computer with a dial up connection (too slow to pump anything out), high-tech criminals will not drive by and hop onto some Joe the "plumber" neighborhood. But, the key is that even WPA is not 100% secure. Letting your guard down just because you used WPA encryption would be your worst criminal. -
You still need to manually purchase a hosting account tailored to your choice--how many mb space, bandwidth, SQL, add-on etc and according to your currently Account Credit Balance earned. It is not instant creation since it's going through Billing and Support, the same Billing and Support as Xisto - Web Hosting. And there will be a 5 hour delay. This delay is the similar delay with other Xisto - Web Hosting purchases. And the delay is also the time to find out if a member just spammed through out the forum and submitted for free hosting account. While waiting for an activation, if a moderator moderates your posts you will not earn myCENT for that posting. And that would directly reflect on how much Account Credit Balance is deposited form Xisto forum to your Billing and Support account. When Billing and Support staff finds that a member was abusing the forum and free web hosting account, the account is terminated immediately. So myCENT is here to stay. Only thing left is to improve, if there's any. You have two forums to earn myCENTs--Xisto and Xisto. Look through both forums and I'm sure you can find something to discuss. Otherwise please submit a suggestion of forum section to be created. Administrators will review and make adjustments. Should you wait? Perhaps. If there's going to be changes it would be in the few months to come. Therefore, if you cannot wait much longer (and soon we all have to migrate to the new billing system because the current hosting account will not be tied to the new billing) you can start out by monthly billing. That way, if the price change for the better plan you have the option to renew it for another month or another year. And knowing OpaQue, the price will not change for the worse hosting plans. We will not accept it!

Wpa Wi-fi Encryption Is Cracked
BuffaloHelp replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Security issues & Exploits
The news of WEP cracking surfaced on the internet about 5 years ago. Since then the introduction of WPA and future WPA2 could be also cracked were in the work. I have been cracking WPA for over 2 years and this isn't new. And it's not even a security threat. It's only security threat if you open your ports to anyone who is in the network. And you protect your network by encrypting the Wi-Fi connection (see how that works?). WPA crack becomes a security threat if you can decrypt the packet data transferred between a PC and the router. And as the article clearly states: This means your credit card, for example, purchasing information used in WPA is still safe--for now--even though your WPA network was compromised by someone who "hacked" into your Wi-Fi. What the article is introducing, however, is the amount of time it requires to crack TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) key in 15 minutes or so. This is a revolutionary compare to my method of collecting 500,000 to 1,000,000 packets and then trying to decrypt TKIP key. Collecting packets are nothing more than turning your laptop into packet sniffing tool by installing AirCrack or anything similar packet sniffing program. As long as you have the proper hardware (AirCrack compatible Wi-Fi card) just leave your laptop on to any frequency or particular frequency (router channel) and start collecting. Once you have enough packets run AirCrack decrypting program and find TKIP key. The hardest part is to collect half a million to a million packets (useful packets). This takes time. If you have good collected packets it takes decrypting program to find TKIP key less than 10 minutes. But to collect good packets it's a waiting game. Sometimes I waited over a month to collect enough packets to crack WPA key. Another way to crack WPA is to force the handshake and reconnection, so called. This is a brute force attack mode where two PC's with Wi-Fi equipped machines are required. Onc would start the attack forcing WPA encrypted router to authenticate the TKIP. And during that split moment the second PC will be listening and collecting packets that requires authentication encryption. The instruction is basically stated because our forum does not allow the full discussion how to crack/hack what is against our forum rules. But basically you get the idea. Attending the PacSec Conference will reveal how exactly WPA was breached but for now anything is a guess. They may be attempting to crack WPA TKIP by having 10 attack PC's and 10 listening PC's. Maybe someone will post it on YouTube and I get to watch how they do it -
I know the feeling of changing from one system to another--it never goes right. You do not have to worry about your hosting credits running out. The forum skin was not updated (taking hosting credit script off line so that forum does not show your hosting credit numbers) and forum's mod never taken off-line. Rest assure that myCENT is another module integrated with the forum and your billing account. Therefore, it has nothing to do with hosting credits you see. So you can let it go down (negative value) but you still have to earn enough myCENT to be deposited as Account Credit Balance if you are on a monthly payment plan. The moment you do not pay the monthly invoice your hosting account will be suspended.

I was told that for the billing and accounting purpose, it's easier to manage in 1/4 or $25 at a time (or multiples of thereof). At this time, there is no plan to allow the freedom of adding arbitrary amount. But as is with everything, anything is possible in the future.

You purchased the same domain name twice. Please submit a support ticket to Xisto - Support and they will resolve the double order.

rvalkass already answered your question. But if you noticed, when you're going to use new domain with Xisto hosting it says that leaving it black will default to Xisto - Web Hosting nameservers :lol:Thanks.

Service charge was not part of my purchase when I performed a purchase myself. Perhaps Velma or OpaQue made changes between the time of my purchase, making this tutorial and your recent transaction. I will go and find out if the changes were made recently. It would have been nice if OpaQue or Velma would have informed us but then again, prices are subject to change without notice (and by that mean, they really are sticking to price changes without a warning). Thanks xpress. I'll be in touch.

What Is The Best Dvd Software For Burning Large Compilations?
BuffaloHelp replied to Ebquster's topic in Software
This is known as DVD Authoring. You are creating DVD format from AVI, MPEG, WMA type video files. The difference between DVD Re-authoring and DVD Authoring: When you create DVD from existing DVD Audio_TS and Video_TS files/folders you are re-authoring DVD. Files (video and audio) are already in format that can be "burned" to a DVD without any conversion or encoding that after finishing the process you can playback from a DVD player.DVD Authoring requires alignment of video tables, audio library and sometimes synchronizing audio to video. Some authoring may require secondary audio, such as 5.1 surround sound encoding or sub-title.Since you have downloaded episodes you will be doing DVD Authoring. SonicDVD, MyDVD, Nero DVD, Roxio DVD are all good programs to author DVD's. For advanced authoring process, such as custom DVD menu, interactive DVD menu, mpeg background DVD menu and bonus features, try Adobe or Finale video suites that provides advance authoring options. -
Browser With Weird Search Engine cannot change back
BuffaloHelp replied to mrtruckster's topic in Software
mrtruckster, Your post will split to new topic since it was posted with the wrong topic. Anyway, you may have reoccuring spyware that changes your default search or default home page to their's. This is also known as Browser Hijack. Download free anti-spy wares like Spybot Search & Destroy and try cleaning your computer. Also, make sure your computer is infection free with anti-virus. If you are still having the same issue and you have Windows XP system, try following this example: Trojen found Visit the direct link and download the latest scanning patch. -
I hope everyone had happy and safe Halloween this year. Don't eat too much of those candies :lol:Topic is closed for this year.

myCENT is updated every 4 hours. This is to cut down unnecessary forum server resources and a buffer zone for moderators to review posts made. You can see why the delay is needed especially for the second reason because myCENT is treated like a real cash. So if a spammer floods our forum just to have enough myCENT and moderators cannot intercept this spammer in time, the spammer would activate the free hosting and can go wild. And there's a delay once you have reached 100 myCENT or above it does not deposit to Account Credit Balance immediately. It waits for another 1 hour or so before the forum to Billing synchronization. When the deposit is made you will receive an email stating of this deposit.

Earlier this afternoon I stopped in my local Circuit City to say hello to few of my friends. I didn't know what was going on but one of the managers pulls me aside and says, "you know we're closing, right?" It hit me like a bomb went off and I was having a hearing loss. I frequently visit this particular Circuit City store chain to see how my buddies are doing. I've worked with them years before in various electronics stores and I kept close touch with all of them. I not only enjoy browsing through electronics like a kid in a candy store (geeky I know) but also to keep up with certain news or new technologies so that I am somewhat well informed. The detail is not to be discussed with me during my visit, but about 155 stores are to be closed immediately on Monday November 3, 2008. And remaining stores are to be closed by the end of this year. The official note from the president was sent dated November 2, 2008 outlining the details of medical coverage, termination terms and any other severance pay. While services like auto installation and firedog departments are completely out, warranty and other extended services are to be covered by 3rd party service. Liquidators are to come and sell remaining store inventories as they see it fit. This is a bad sign for the United States economy. And especially less than 48 hours before the historical presidential election, Circuit City's holiday kickoff month will turn into holiday layoff month. What will happen to all those jobless workers in this downhill economy? If Circuit City's closing news came a month earlier, would this news have made the election's outcome any different? Will people's vote swing because of this news? I am deeply troubled by what's going on in the United States. And I'm not even touching on losing jobs to overseas or made in **** country flooding every street corner. I am troubled by CEO's, CFO's or what FO's earning record salaries, bonuses or benefits when the common workers are taking all the beating working for the man. How could this happen? How could anyone let this happen? We are suppose to be the "advanced" civilization. Are we still practicing "what's your's is mine and what's mine is mine?" Isn't that what cavemen practiced? What will happen to all those unemployed workers and all the other workers who lost their jobs in coming holiday season. Is this just the beginning of what is to come; come to all of us?

Don't be too hard on yourself. But if you do, you know the support team will be there to help you fix it up. And to answer why having your nameserver or having to name yours is a good thing... If you care about how others view your domain/profile, almost all respected domains have their own nameservers. For example, Xisto - Web Hosting has ns.computinghost.com and ns2.computinghost.com. Some people pay attention to even this little detail. If you have a domain name but pointing to someone else's nameserver it's just the matter of aesthetic value. Other than that, I do not believe it aids on better SEO.

I think the part of reason why Jimmy89's hosting was suspended, even though it was purchased with myCENT, is because the registered domain name was the same as the previously suspended domain name. And when the web hosting management (WHM) looked at the newly registered domain name (cubed.astahost.com) the script automatically suspended due to past history--which it was too smart for its own good.OpaQue confirmed me today that the account is unsuspended. We're sorry about this little incident Jimmy89. But because of this Xisto also knows the flaw in current WHM. So this experience is not wasted.

Just to post a confirmation, since my post #87, all questions were answered correctly by other Xisto members. Thanks to those who filled in while I was away and thank you for contributing your opinions on our new credit system!Keep those questions flowing. It looks like the idea of myCENT is making sense to everyone. And I see that the new hosting plans using myCENT seems unfair--lack of few things from the old hosting plans. OpaQue is trying to come to the happy medium. He already changed new hosting prices since the launch of Credit System V3. I'm not sure if the current price will stay for good but for now OpaQue is still considering few changes.
