Terminated My Hosting Account But Still In The Hosted Group
BuffaloHelp replied to galexcd's topic in Web Hosting Support
Ah, good question. OpaQue was going to address this very soon. So it's up to him. But for now, the plan is no.Whether you're hosting or not, the new Credit System V3 will be tied with Xisto - Web Hosting billing system. Therefore, this forum and hosting members are no longer connected. The only thing that still connects the two is the myCENT amounts. This allows us to explore multiple GROUPS now. -
Quoted Posts ...who can get away with it?
BuffaloHelp replied to Animator's topic in Web Hosting Support
AstaHost administrators would like to inform that the two forums, Xisto and Xisto, may have the same if not similar TOS and AUP but are moderated differently. Not to stereotype the two forums but one is geared towards general and everything where the other forum is geared towards indepth and technical discussion. Therefore, each forum has its own ways of moderating. -
I will terminate the discussion on personal information requirement with this post. No more discussion after my post regarding personal information required by Billing And Support. This personal detail information will be only, AND ONLY, used and shown when you have your domain purchased. On the side note, you can use free whois privacy by Xisto - Web Hosting. But I'll stick right now just with your detailed information requirement. If you do not want to reveal your personal information, you can put a bogus information and it will accept it. This is not to encourage a false information to be used but if you really care about Xisto, Xisto - Web Hosting, Xisto and yourself, you will not abuse this loop hole and enter "Joe Blow, 123 Any USA St." You can provide just the street name without the house number, give phone number without the area code, provide the state but give county instead of city name. You get the idea.Knowing that your information will only be shown when you have your domain name (and it is required by Law that every domain name has correct whois information, unless paid extra for privacy information option) you can bypass it for now. But BECAUSE people forget to UPDATE billing and personal information from a bogus to the correct one WHEN purchasing a domain name through Xisto - Web Hosting, it is WHY we have it required field during your signup.Xisto - Web Hosting and Xisto will never use your mailing address and phone number in billing or outside sales. Xisto has my full information for the past 4 years and I have not been exploited by any means or forms. I say this not because I am an admin of Xisto, or receive a special trust by Xisto, but I say this because I know OpaQue extends the same courtesy and respect to me as well as all members of Xisto and beyond. I have not known him to set double standards. All invoices are sent electronically so mailing address is not used in Xisto billing.Xisto promotes sales through search engines and word of mouth. They will never perform phone solicitations. If my words seem less than kind I did not mean so. I post this with my personal promise that you will not be exploited (in the world where identity thefts are so frequent) just because Xisto requires you to enter personal information.Okay? Furthermore, if you are worried that Xisto - Web Hosting and Xisto can pursue for unpaid balance, are you not planning on paying your bill in the future? No, of course not. I say some worries are left unearthed. If you are honorable and stick to what is right, you do not need to worry if you will be caught with unjustified accusation. If you still have any doubt you can contact me via PM and I will discuss until you are satisfied

Free Domain Name (260 Credits) What will we do about this?
BuffaloHelp replied to -Sky-'s topic in Web Hosting Support
I think some of us are missing the whole point of myCENT.We are not going to be referring it to as HOSTING CREDITS when we post and contribute. Instead, you'll be earning myCENT when you contribute to our forum. With $9.99 of your Account Credit Balance, you can purchase a domain name and have it for 1 full year. To make $9.99 Account Credit Balance, you'll need to earn 999 myCENT values. It's that simple. If you were to earn 10 myCENT per posting, about 100 posts should give you 1000 myCENT, right? If you contribute over 100 posts per year you can easily afford a free domain name of your choice. Do not think in terms of hosting credits anymore. The message you see at the forum index page is just the skin and OpaQue has not removed the modification yet. He will do that when he upgrades our forum. Until then you will continute to see it accumulate because it's still encoded with the forum.Think in myCENT terms. -
What Is Vps Web Hosting? Virtual Private Server and Hosting
BuffaloHelp replied to iXeta's topic in Web Hosting Support
Super level access does not mean you get to modify the Operating System of a server, if that's what you're asking.Super level access allows you to control over the global settings, such as in PHP, to turn things off or on. Super level access allows you to turn ports off and on (as Velma explained). To you, it's another computer with Web Server built in. But I don't think it means to control Windows Server 2003 or whatever the OS may be.And as an admin of your VPS, you can install cpanel and decide to run your own Xisto like services. Divide them however you would want, install whatever you need (like WHM and cpanel) and run the system as you see it fit. With all others (except for dedicated server) you are still under another account's control. That is, you are not at the top of your part of the account. -
I provided a specific instruction on how to activate your hosting account. Please follow them and your method above is no longer valid and the forum is undergoing updates. As mentioned in PM, 3 post replies and through the shoutbox, follow the instruction below. Once you have accumulated 5 quality posts you can activate Free Web Hosting, No Ads by following the instruction below. If you have not registered with Billing & Support take this time to register to begin your Free Web Hosting, No Ads account activation. This step is crucial to your hosting account. Do not skip this step. Visit Billing & Support and use the SAME email address you registered with our forum. Start by clicking the ORDER link and choose LOGIC PLAN and proceed. On the next screen choose I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain if you want to apply with our sub-domain name. If you have your own domain name or would like to purchase one, choose other appropriate selection and continue. If you are choosing one of our sub-domain names please follow this step carefully. After selecting I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain enter your desired sub-domain name in the SECOND field followed by entering Xisto.com or Xisto.com extension in the THIRD field. On the next screen select (as a default) monthly payment schedule. This is the quickest way to start our free web hosting, no ads. You can upgrade additional features or upgrade to different hosting plans with your Account Credit Balance. Select other options you desire. Be sure to fill in and double check, especially your sub-domain or domain name that would be activating your hosting account. Finish your order by pressing Add to cart. Check out your order and then COMPLETE ORDER. Select PayPal as your form of payment and deduct it from Account Credit Balance to complete. Once completed, your credit balance debits automatically. Wait about 5 hours for our Billing and Support Team to activate your hosting account. Please refer any FAQ to Xisto Readme. You can submit additional questions to Billing and Support from your dashboard.

I know, SM usually goes around the answer and it's not clear. If you add additional options such as SQL or Bandwidth, and you choose to go with monthly hosting plan you will be sent an invoice on the monthly basis.Monthly is a great way to start if your Account Credit Balance is not so high. But if you picked hosting plan a 1 year price or 12 months price (I'm stating it exactly as it appears in the check out pull down), then the rest of options will show yearly price. Let's say you picked 12 months Logic Plan at $0.89 per month (because monthly is $0.99) and you increase bandwidth to 5GB instead of 1GB. And the additional bandwidth costs $11.88 for this option. Your total at the check out would be $10.68 for the hosting plus another $11.88 (this is the price for the whole year). When you select the yearly price for the hosting, the rest of option reflects yearly price. If you select monthly price for Logic Plan the 5Gb bandwidth cost only $0.99 per month. So monthly price for Logic Plan with 5Gb bandwidth is $1.98.Read the above explanation carefully. The key is that when you select monthly hosting price, the rest of optional services reflect monthly price. If you select yearly price it automatically refreshes and shows you the yearly prices for all optional services, unless stated otherwise by the description (some of them will say one time setup fee only).

Yes. Logic Plan offers even further customization of your hosting account. You need more bandwidth than SQL? Do you need more Space than Add-on? etc. TB stands for Terabyte. 1000 Gigabyte equals 1 Terabyte. Logic Plan starts at mere $0.99 per month. And you customize your needs by adding on additional features found during the check out process. The more you post, the more you earn myCENT that will deposit more Account Credit Balance you will have.
-
That is still in the works. OpaQue is leaning towards automatic registration for now and a year from now you will get an invoice from Billing and Support. Again, we are trying to finalize many things. So stay tuned. When OpaQue registeres your current domain/hosting with something, I believe he will associate it with Logic Plan. Logic Plan allows you to customize to your needs--you need more bandwidth add $3.00 for additional 5GB per month (the numbers and cost is used as an example). I will let you know as soon as OpaQue some rest and had enough time to clear his thoughts.

Yes, that's correct. Instead of earning hosting credits as you contribute to our forum you will earn myCENT. For every 100 myCENT you earn it will deposit $1 to your Account Credit Balance. Although you physically did not transfer or deposit a real money, you can use Account Credit Balance to purchase anything Billing and Support offers. And Xisto - Web Hosting will honor your Account Credits as though it's a real cash. We are still ironing out the process. But for now there's a talk of just registering every member to Billing system. OpaQue may automatically set the invoice for your current hosting and send you a reminder to pay for next 1 year hosting price, or monthly installment. But whatever the case may be, we're still working on the plan so we'll let you know.

The current hosting credit idea is now Credit System V3.Instead of earning hosting credits you are earning myCENT values by contributing to our forum. So whether you see the hosting credits in the index page or not, it does not matter. Hosting credits is just a plug-in of IP.Board that OpaQue had made. Now, we're going to see myCENT instead of Hosting Credits.Concentrate on posting quality posts as usual and you will not need to worry about anything.

Credit System v3 General Information Regarding Multiple Accounts, Xisto and Xisto forums FAQ Q1 I have Xisto and Xisto forum accounts. How does myCENT work and can I transfer from one to another to pool my credits? A1 If you use the SAME email address for both forums, Billing and Support will automatically merge your credit balance. There's no need for worry. Q2 What about the policy of not having multiple hosting accounts? A2 The current Credit System allows multiple hosting account IF you can keep up the credits. Since the credit balance is centralized by your email, multiple forum accounts posting with the same email will earn all credits to one Billing account. But our forum is set so that you cannot use an email address more than once. You can have one account in Xisto and another one in Xisto. More FAQ to come...

willielwgg, I have not received a word from OpaQue if existing hosting members should renew or purchase another hosting for the next year. So wait on that one.And for the rest of you, myCENT is updated from the forum backend about 4-5 hours. This is to keep the server load low. Once myCENT reaches $100 or 4-5 hours (whichever comes first) it will make a deposit to Account Credit Balance. If myCENT is greater than $100 but under 4-5 hours (let's call it the depositing time) it will wait and show READY.When myCENT is deposited to Account Credit Balance, it will take another 1 hour or so before Billing shows the updated amount. Again, this is to keep the server load at low. You will also receive an email stating that $1 was credited to your account from Xisto. This is another reason why your email of your forum and billing MUST MATCH.

Credit System 3, I Changed My Email, Now What?

Credit System 3, I Changed My Email, Now What?
BuffaloHelp replied to shadowx's topic in Web Hosting Support
Once Billing comes on-line, that is, synchronized with your myCENT, Billing requires to have your email--which is the same email as your forum email--so that Billing can notify you with invoice updates.Go to MY DETAILS and update your Billing email please. -
This is a great question. And it's still being ruled out by OpaQue as to how to approach existing hosting members. For now, your hosting will stay as long as you post (whether you accumulate Account Credit Balance or not). But when OpaQue is ready to turn off the Hosting Credit system, OpaQue will reinitialize how long before your current hosting will expire and you will then "renew" with a hosting plan and paying for it with Account Credit Balance you gathered from now, until then. Makes sense? Good because it didn't to me And no I do not need a clarification--it was my humor to diffuse the situation. Exactly. Because none of us are sure yet, OpaQue is working on Credit System to be on-line slowly. All you have to do is wait until OpaQue says "no more hosting credits." We will give ample amount of time for EVERYONE to cross over to the new system. No hosting member left behind! (it's not just Geroge W's slogan anymore ha ha ha) PHP is always included. But I get the idea what you're trying to say. And that's exactly what OpaQue had in mind. If you wanted VPS from Xisto forum, now you can without admin's approval. Just earn Account Credit Balance through myCENT and you upgrade whenever you're ready On the side note: WHM and IP.Board database interaction is not hidden, special coding or secret. The folks at WHM provides all the code you need just as PayPal provides all the shopping cart codes you need. The important part is to be secure and safe. That's where knowing how to program in various programming language comes in handy. WHM can create a hosting account via remote code. This is a built-in feature. Customer Service module is separate but we all know OpaQue does not skimp on the fat--the juicy part of the meat

Quoted Posts ...who can get away with it?
BuffaloHelp replied to Animator's topic in Web Hosting Support
You hit the nail right on the head. OpaQue and I had a lengthy discussion as how to moderate the forum. And among other things, moderators are to focus on Topic title, Content type, Spelling/Grammar, and contribution rate (how many people are actively replying to a topic). The orders are important as listed. Xisto's only bread and butter is to be indexed by search engines such as Google. And in order to be indexed OpaQue stresses on quality contents. OpaQue generalized "quality content" by covering original article as well. So anything that can help SEO of Xisto is what's best for Xisto. To continue free web hosting, no ads (<--- you'll see that I use it in this format all the time because it's the forum's keyword and for SEO) this forum must be visible by search engines. Otherwise, OpaQue will suffer financially to keep Xisto alive. We don't want to think about the day OpaQue can't pay for things that we enjoy it for free...right? So, it's up to each of us to see what is good for Xisto. And it's up to us to take responsibility to drive Xisto to where it should be--continuing to provide free web hosting, no ads. Some of us are here only for the free web hosting, no ads. Some of us are here because of the forum discussions and the hosting was just the byproduct. Whatever the case that drawn us together, we should really take ownership of this place and cultivate it like it was my own. You don't crap where you eat. This is not to say or accuse anyone or anything. True community police themselves in harmony. The moderators of Xisto are here to enforce basic guidelines. They were picked by administrators for their ability to follow OpaQue's guidelines. It may not seem like in unison, but if they were they would be robots with one singular thought. And that would be so dull. The forum provides REPORT feature to alert moderators' attention. We post topics to discuss various issues that deal with us personally, and us collectively. And as we clash with one another in intellectual level one day we can truly form a true internet community.
