Go to https://support.xisto.com/ and register with your email that is the SAME as Xisto forum email. We are not calculating with "how many days" any more. Once you purchase 1 year hosting plan through Billing, you are good to go for the whole year. And you will be reminded via email to renew your hosting. After which, you would login to Billing again and pay the invoice to "renew." Throughout the year, as you contribute you will accumulate Account Credit Balance. This does not depreciate over time. So $10 earned today is still the same $10 tomorrow, day after etc., until you accumulate additional Credit Balance. You can purchase a domain name with your Credit Balance. You can purchase different plan to fit your budget or your hosting needs. You are getting CASH as a form of CREDITS by staying active in Xisto forum.

It does not require 100 times a day to make yearly payment. Remember now that once Account Credit Balance deposit is made, it does not decrease like the hosting credit. So, $10 earned is $10 earned. And you have 1 full year to make $33.33 dollars. Is that so tough?? I don't think so.Annually, a hosting member would be required to make a renewal on his/her free web hosting account. We are still calling it free since there's no physical payments are made from a person to Xisto - Web Hosting. As it was in the beginning of Xisto, all you need to do is post and you earn to host for free :)A hosted member will be notified via email with an invoice from Xisto - Web Hosting. A hosted member then logs into the billing and renews it with what his/her Account Credit Balance. If the hosted member would prefer to upgrade to different hosting plan, all that would require is the difference between the current hosting and the upgrading hosting price.willielwgg is not stuck at ZERO as of this post. willielwgg's myCENT is 18.48.

Quoted Posts ...who can get away with it?
BuffaloHelp replied to Animator's topic in Web Hosting Support
I go by the simple rule that a moderator who deals with that post has made the correct decision. My general rule is that if the exact post is found elsewhere, then you must QUOTE it--even if you wrote it yourself or referring to your own work. I view this as double dipping on hosting credits. If this is allowed, I can post 300 pages of my graduate school's research paper...etc, right? It's not right. If you post in Xisto first and then to another place, should you QUOTE? My answer is no, but the member who posted will be on my watch list. It's exploiting the loop-hole and still gaining dishonest credits. We, as moderators of Xisto, do not make specific, individual rules to dominate Xisto members. Instead each moderator moderates post according to OpaQue's guidelines--that is, if you are not contributing quality and original post your post will be moderated. And how to moderate each post depends on each moderator. -

As of this post, I believe the site is back. I do not know the reason for the previous interruption. -
To operate with optimal server resource, update to myCENT and Account Credit Balance will not be synchronized. The backend to display Account Credit Balance is updated within 5 hours, but update on forum myCENT is not as scheduled. And because of editing and moderating things can be placed on a hold before it reflects the proper value. Just a while ago, rpgsercherz's myCENT was around 49.xx. As of this post, I see that he is in 1.83. This means he reached 100, auto deposited to Account Credit Balance and now he's starting again. This took about a day. But only 4 or 5 updates were made to myCENT. Don't be too calculative yet but as you can see in the course of a day or less, only 4 or 5 updates were made to myCENT. This example is to illustrate the "slowness" of the actual update. But your Account Credit Balance is updated as OpaQue had scheduled.

The only time you want to edit CNAME is when you are specifically using an application that requires one. To use Xisto - Web Hosting with your domain name, all you need to do is change NAMESERVERS. Google Apps asks you to change CNAME if, and only if, you want to use mail.your_domain_at.ext, i.e. mail.google.com. There are other tricks such as redirecting from your site to google apps email, i.e. index.php And place it under a folder called "webmail" or whatever, so that it looks like this: your

Again, we are working out the terms how Xisto free web hosting would be under the new billing system. We can have it auto-renew as long as the Account Credit Balance is sufficient, etc. Xisto free web hosting, no ads always has been a part of packages of Xisto--just a free one. But with the new Credit System, members of Xisto and Xisto are better supported since Xisto - Support can fully understand Xisto members' issues. This merge, so to speak, is to improve MEMBER <--> SUPPORT relations. And to improve the current situation is to improve the response time. In the past, I or OpaQue had real "knowledge" of the Xisto hosting situation. Other support staffs really supported paid servers and Xisto - Web Hosting--not Xisto. Velma came along and started to bridge supports between Xisto - Web Hosting customer service and Xisto/Xisto. Hence the formation of Xisto - Support. So really, OpaQue is just completing the circle he initially conceived regarding Xisto. And he is placing Xisto under the billing but a free one. This will also speed up the process of activating new free web hosting accounts. Instead of waiting for admin's approval new members can self-serve by accumulating necessary Account Credits. That's it. No hosting request, no screening and no approvals. All are equal as long as quality posts are contributed. A domain name or a sub-domain name, it should read. I'll talk to OpaQue about this. Good catch.

Hosting credit mod is still infused with the current forum. So you will still see hosting credits accumulating on your index page. When we upgrade forum to next version, OpaQue will not be implementing the current (now old) hosting credit IP.Board mod and you will no longer see the hosting credit numbers. It is still unclear how OpaQue wants to perform, but for those who have not signed up with the Billing, you are seeing myCENT values, i.e. current rpgsearcherz's myCENT is 69.22If you have signed up with the Billing, your CENTs have been transferred. I see my credit balance being updated as scheduled. We are still working out the details on how we are going to approach purchasing plans. But here is a brief introduction:1) a member posts and stays active in Xisto forum2) contributing in the forum earns myCENT3) myCENT is converted to Account Credit Balance4) a member then purchases Xisto - Web Hosting hosting plan with Account Credit Balance for free web hosting5) a member can purchase any hosting plan, such as PLAN 3S, $33.33 a year. (A special lower price might be available for first time buyer, because to earn $33 might be too long)6) there after, a member will renew his/her hosting with said $33.33 Account Credit7) Account Credit Balance may or may not decrease as Hosting Credits have in the past. Again, we're still working out the acceptable terms how we're going to approach this.8) with leftover Account Credit Balance, a member can purchase other "paid" services from Xisto - Web Hosting, without spending a single penny from a member's wallet.9) when a moderator moderates this member's post, it will reflect directly on this member's Account Credit Balance. This is not negotiable.

No. We are no longer referring it as hosting credits. Instead, as you contribute to our forum you gain CENTs. Yes, I know I think it should be CENTS rather than CENT. Anyway, as you contribute you collect CENT and when you reach 100 CENT, your forum will show as ZERO and the credit gets DEPOSIT to your BILLING account. You can see the updated balance in 4-5 hours under ACCOUNT CREDIT BALANCE. You don't have to buy anything. The conversion and deposit is performed all automatically. There's no need for admin's approval for newbies for hosting request. As long as required balance is gained anyone can activate a free web hosting. To purchase "hosting credits" as you put it, all you need to do is deposit money from your PayPal or other Xisto - Web Hosting payment types. As for the real conversion factor in "how much of posts/words equals how many CENT" is OpaQue's own calculation. Please do not ask for this value. All you need to understand is quality post would bring higher CENT than one-liner. Yes, and this board is here to answer as best as we can

I Need Some Help With My School Network
BuffaloHelp replied to Arthur Dent's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Can we say, hacking??I'm going to assume the server is set with active directory and each workstation are users of this domain? If so, the only way to access folders/drives from a workstation is through valid username and password. To bypass this is to bypass server's security, or hacking the server. It depends on each server's setup but usually active directory has built-in security log where a server admin can review/be notified with any unusual activities. So the answer to your "not leaving the trace" is a no go.And even if you have the username and password to log in to access C and Y drive, the "shared" drive must be configured to allow this username and password to access these drives.Another way is to login as remote terminal (Windows command: mstsc.exe) only if the server is installed with terminal server and is enabled. Then simply use the server's IP address (if set statically) and use the username and password. This too is also logged (if server admin knows what he/she is doing) but before you exit the terminal session you can wipe out the log. But this would mean you are entrusted by server admins to remotely connect to the server. -
What Do You Need To Open A Paypal Account?
BuffaloHelp replied to TheDisturbedOne's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The minimum you would need is a bank account to tie your PayPal with the account. This is the minimum qualification. Credit card is required for other purposes, such as upgrading your account to a commercial account.Although it's not tested, I wonder if pre-paid credit cards would work. -
Upcoming Credit System V3 Pre-talk

Thanks for the heads up Saint Michael, but Xisto will not see the new Credit System until Xisto proves to be stable. So again, to keep the speculations down please stick to each forum's own progress.Thanks. -

Asus 'eeepc' Series Discussions about the EeePC series.
BuffaloHelp replied to Evolix's topic in Operating Systems
I have been following this hardware since the Hack A Day guys have been doing the complete tear down.An interesting product with lots of promise but I wonder if it will prevail under the recent popularity of Dell's Mini 9. Taking a side step from Asus' eeePC, both Dell and Asus are gearing towards portable yet powerful computing device. Hack A Day fellows (including yours truly) have launched a project where a personal PDA styled device with 7"-10" screen. The much failed Microsoft's WinCE, and now called Windows Mobile OS (a.k.a. Pocket PC), are practical in portable world because it does not require "boot up" and consumes much far lesser power. And Pocket PC OS can do just about any editing, browsing and network administrative tasks just as your average laptop.Aside from editing graphics I find my PDA just as equal when retrieving critical email, monitoring server status, keeping in touch with Xisto , and editing CSS or PHP file. But I just cannot stand the 4" screen when I have to work longer than 30 minutes--neck strain.I was very eager to purchase eeePC but I will wait until they can make it slimmer, thinner and operate longer without sacrificing large work display. I do enjoy the QWERTY keyboard in both models. -
Are you taking this medication under the direction of qualified physician? And does the physician know you're taking a supplemental medication as well? You did not mention but have you tried adjusting your diet, clothing and other remedies along with prescribed drug?

Upcoming Credit System V3 Pre-talk
BuffaloHelp replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Web Hosting Support
There is no specific ratio from Hosting Credits to Credit Balance, if that's what you are asking. And I do not believe OpaQue would have made it that way. Just like our currently hosting credit system, the credits earned and converted to cash would be fair and just. -
OpaQue has been testing out the new Credit System V3 (as mentioned in the hosting members area) so that might be the answer.IPS driver error usually means the database is offline or is refusing the connection. Either way don't be alarmed.

Hello wonderful hosting members of Xisto As we gather and ready for upcoming upgrades to both the forum and the credit system, I'd like to remind you that we are doing the best we can to ease the transition. I'd like to focus your attention to the new credit system. More details on how it will work will be posted by OpaQue. But in the mean time a quick snap shot of the front page and also register here for linking your billing account to your forum. https://support.xisto.com/register.php It is very important that you sign-up using the SAME EMAIL address which you are using at this forums. You can see the Account Credit Balance: $0.00 which will be automatically updated from your forum hosting credits. Yes, there will be a conversion from hosting credits to real balance in the billing system, which is the same as Xisto - Web Hosting billing system. And as some of you might have guessed, yes Xisto - Web Hosting will consider this credit balance as REAL CASH. Which means you can purchase any service from Xisto - Web Hosting by staying active in Xisto forum! Wow! I know... Try to keep the speculations down but OpaQue has allowed me to show only this much. Anything else might be in play but the system is still in the works. So be patient. Once the Credit System V3 is rolled out, we would need you to follow specific instructions to complete the process. The instruction will be given when the time is right. Please pass the word and get ready for the awesome experience of your hosting life Xisto Staff.

Java And Jsp On Trap 17 Java and jsp on trap 17
BuffaloHelp replied to clivec's topic in Programming
Thank you wwilliams for clarifying. To further clarify, JSP is supported only when an individual submits a special request to Xisto - Support. And the case is reviewed per case and only granted by the server administrators.Otherwise, JSP, by default, is disabled and unavailable to all hosted members. The last time, I was told that JSP will not be available due to increasing abuse from novice programmers. So to keep Xisto hosting server's reliability we ask that all JSP requesters consider purchasing Xisto - Web Hosting paid services.
