Would you like some fries with that?

Beautiful and delicate design. It's a shame that the ad banners are placed at the top. It feels like a great work of art is hindered by placement of advertisement. As for the design...WOW! Nicely done. I am surely impressed with your skills. I like the navigation animation to the left. But the letters are fuzzy a bit. I think you can make it bit sharper. The animation button suits the whole theme--soft and cuddling :)The top navigation lettering must be sharper and bolder or stronger contrast. I almost missed it. But above all, simply WOW--that's all I can say. Good work!

Well hello mate!Welcome to Xisto. Do Australians really refer themselves as "from down under...?" I only heard once from a stranger whom I played poker with in Las Vegas. But all he could be doing was bluffing :)I really cannot fathom that the seasons are reversed from the northern hemisphere, the toilet flushes counter clockwise or majority of the land might be unexplored. But whatever misunderstandings or misconceptions of each other, here in Xisto we are one in the same--we are here to discuss with topics that interests us and affects us.Take a look around and don't feel hesitant to ask. Searching our forum is the fastest way to solve redundancy. Refer to Xisto Readme for quick introductions to our forum and our free web hosting.Looking forward to your participation.

I'm not sure what you're seeking--advice on how to start a call center or what requires to set up a call center. If you have figured out the cost of operating a call center, then you would need equipments and managements to start a call center, right? And I'm assuming you have a plan to handle situations where you're not prepared for--i.e. what to do when the power goes out.But more basic plan is how is your call center handle the volume? Will there be a voice mail box that captures all incoming calls when all 15 seats are busy with other calls? Do you have reminders to return calls (that's not even explained). Going back, what kind of call center is it--technical support, telemarketing or simple retention calls? So I'm going to pick up where you left off... after setting up necessary network topology (Cisco network, VoIP etc), do you have an ISP who can handle the high call volume bandwidth? I usually give consultation that each phone would require 100kb upload bandwidth for clear VoIP. Have you calculated this one with your ISP? Some might say only 80kb is required. Let's go with my number. So 15 seats would mean 1500kb upload bandwidth requirements for VoIP. How much is ISP going to charge you for this kind of service? And what if ISP goes off, do you have a secondary backup service? Once you have this question answered, what kind of PBX will you be using or would you be leasing PBX from your ISP? Whaleback system is another good PBX but you can make your own PBX with Asterisk@Home version. It's your own Unix/Linux PBX using any broadband service.Once you have your PBX then are you going to purchase SIP ready phones or are you going to lease them? I purchased Hi-Def SIP phones at $400 each. Are you considering this in your budget or thinking about using PC to make VoIP calls such as Skype. This leads to another question, have you considered Skype as your solution? Are you going to have incoming calls? If so one number with multiple answers, a.k.a. snaking available phone?Call center is not easy to start unless you have a business plan. And until you explain exactly what you want to accomplish and what you exactly have so far, it's all a guessing game. Let us know how far you have come and what's your end goal. Perhaps someone else can fill in the blanks

Your hosting account itself will not be disturbed unless you let it die, i.e. not paying your invoice. But when you signup with your myCENT, you merely change how it's been billed. So the simplest way of thinking is that whether or not your account will be suspended if you don't pay your invoice. If you request a new hosting account plan and you use the same domain name, the server techs will know you're merely changing how your account is billed and not the hosting account. You will not lose any information.

Why Some People Don't Believe In Free Domains?
BuffaloHelp replied to miladinoski's topic in Web Hosting Support
Quoting my girlfriend, and everyone else--"there's no such thing as free lunch."Having said that, they are right to doubt anything that is free on the net, especially regarding domain names. You see there were other offers before Xisto's free domain name. So it is natural for them to be skeptics. And I don't blame them. I too have been the victim of free domain scams. I had to put something like 500 posts to earn free domain. When the renewal came around and I couldn't meet the additional 500 post count I was locked out of the domain I got and I had no way of getting it back. What a waste of 1 year owning the domain name...So the idea started to float around--pay $10 a year and you'll never have to worry about someone holding it for a ransom.Let's dissect Xisto free domain offer. It's not technically free. You still need to contribute to our forum to earn enough myCENT to pay and renew it. So the time and effort it takes to earn enough myCENT does not constitutes as 'free' in ever sense of the word. Because if it's free, you should not have to do anything. The idea of free domain by Xisto is that you don't have to give your money upfront or not even a penny. You simply participate in our forum like you would do with any other forums for discussions. And as you participate you earn myCENT. And with enough myCENT you can trade it in for services provided by any hosting provider's services, including a domain name.If you don't have to shell out your money upfront or you don't have to pay from your pocket, and you are trading with efforts earned from contributing in this forum that would be a free service you're getting. Because after all, you're going to contribute to a forum one way or another to other millions of forums out there, why not here in Xisto and get something worth while in trade?I have noticed that people do not actively defy my opinion when I present it in the purest truth and allow them to judge for themselves. Then, I don't have to make claims that I have to guarantee and they don't have to expect any more than the actual face value. It's a win win situation in my opinion. -
Antidepressants & Memory Loss memory loss
BuffaloHelp replied to MartinaMargarethe's topic in Health & Fitness
The side effects of a prescribed drug is for your doctor to explain. Only he/she can determine the antidepressants--more than one??--may cause memory loss. Perhaps the combination of multiple antidepressants are causing unwanted side effects. And is it justifiable? If the side effect you're facing is mentioned by antidepressant manufacturer and your doctor prescribed knowing this side effect, the answer is yes. But would it also likely that your memory retention is affected by your age? I'm just opening up a possibility here, not accusing of any. I noticed that my concentration and memory returned dramatically when I adjusted my diet to include fish and more vegetables rather than strict meat and poultry I have come accustomed. And your memory on a specific order may be unclear if you're doing huge volume and you're not paying attention. For example, what you're doing almost automated fashioned checking the list and order slip and clearing them, how could anyone expect to remember if you do that over 100 similar orders a day? And especially you've been doing the same job over many years is it possible that your mind is kind of bored at the same repetitive action? In which case, by providing mental stimulating exercises may cure the absence of your attention. However the case may be, first consult with your physician. It is absolutely important that your doctor knows what goes on with your life as you take prescribed drugs. -
Please contribute with your thoughts/opinions instead of just providing us with URL. How would you feel if this was installed in your home or do you even approve small reactors in the hands of ordinary citizens? Let's get the discussion started.

No need for an apology. We understand that everyone understands a situation differently. I'm glad that this topic was able to clear any doubts you might have had. And keep on testing our system--like I mentioned we are fallible--and if you find something that should not be happening report it to us. Thanks. This topic is closed. Please PM a moderator to reopen this topic to continue the discussion.

We are no longer concerned with hosting credits, when you mention "credits." The hosting credits found in the main index page will go away when we upgrade to the newer forum version. In the mean time you will continue to see hosting credits rise and fall as you post. HOWEVER, as mentioned in alerts and notices section, we are no longer operating under the old hosting credits. The new credit system, i.e. Credit System V3, is myCENT and it is calculated as the same as the old hosting credits but with a slight difference.Common:Both systems, hosting credits and myCENT, will rise and fall as a post is moderated or edited. This is on the simple fact that if earning hosting credits or myCENT was the KEY to obtaining a free web hosting account we do not want some spammers to post bunch of junk posts and activating hosting credits by earning unworthy hosting credits or myCENT. Furthermore, copying and pasting should not be part of earning myCENT (and as was with hosting credits, but will omit the mention of hosting credits because it's not relevant anymore). So as moderators moderate posts with QUOTE or edit out inappropriate "words" it is also logical that myCENT is to be adjusted as well. OpaQue placed heavy thoughts on this system and we have been testing it out ever since our forum enabled "EDIT" feature. Although we may be fallible, we are not wrong about programming myCENT as of yet. We tested this system for over a month BEFORE releasing, and have been very satisfied with the result.Difference:myCENT earnings are based on your post quality and only converts to myEarnings when myCENT reaches 100 or more. To reach 100 myCENT you must post quality posts and not be moderated. If your post is moderated your myCENT will be adjusted accordingly, or sometimes lose more than what you earned. This case is only applicable when your post is deleted. This has been the same ever since OpaQue launched the old credit system. So when you ask is this suppose to happen? The answer is yes.

Please note that the section in question states Life Talk (No post counts! Sub forums may have post count) And Religion and Philosophy sub form is Enable Post Count Incrementation If enabled, posts in this forum increase member's cumulative post count. under the administrator's control panel. Therefore, if your post count increases you will earn myCENT. myCENT amount is not updated instantly unless it was earned from prior. It is updated every 5 hours or sometimes as late as 24 hours. If you happen to be logged in during the update it will appear as though it was earned instantaneously.
-
OpaQue assures me that no post count zone will not earn myCENT. It is possible that sometimes myCENT is not updated up to 24 hours. Within this time a post made other places might be viewed as earning myCENT from no post zones. The only way to test this out yourself is to stop posting for 24 hours. Then post something simple in no post zone. Wait another 24 hours and you will definitely have the result. If in doubt and would like to have the real person who designed myCENT to verify, please submit the post link in question to Xisto - Support. OpaQue will review and compare to the myCENT value transaction.

Recently I came to an astounding information by a private group leader. Did you know that dirty, bacteria infested water kills more people than anything in the world? This statement sounded like a life sentence I received from a judge. A while ago, I made a post about PlayPump (PlayPump An Invention That Serves Humanitarian) And this was the immediate image I had when I heard the above statement. No matter what we try to do, if the recipient of PlayPump can't drink clean water the device alone would be a failure. All the hard work and pats on the back were only the half of the solution! The mobile filtration vehicle named Aquaduct utilizes the most freest and abundant energy source--the human. As the rider puts his/her pedal to the metal the stored ground water in the rear tank would be filtered and stored to the front of the bicycle. The full description from the design team So imagine a rider travels 30 or more minutes to the nearest ground well. The rider then loads buckets of water to the back tank. As the rider travels back to his/her home or village, the time spent traveling would also purify the ground water to now a safe drinking water. Simply amazing! Not only this vehicle provides transportation much needed in underdeveloped country, it solves the one of the greatest question in, "how to deliver fresh drinking water to remote areas?" Aquaduct is the creation of Adam Mack, Brian Mason, John Lai, Paul Silberschatz, and Eleanor Morgan and was recently announced as the Grand Prize Winner of the Innovate or Die competition. USB 3.0 specifications have been finalized and is now called Super Speed USB. The specification claims to have the transfer speed of 4.8 Gbps amounting about 25 GB of data can be transferred in about 70 seconds. As the above image shows, extra high speed differential pair was given for extra streamlined transfer speeds. In the past USB clocked highly at the burst speed but the steady long streaming speed was not the greatest. Firewire users (Apple made) once thought this was the winning difference between USB and Firewire. Now that the new release of USB 3, the steady streaming data transfer speed will be better with camcorders and any high data packets that require constant high transfer speed. The application is especially useful for direct camcorder to USB recording. Or, how about external data server to external backup device? You would no longer need proprietary connection between two devices, such as SCSI or Firewire. Although USB 3 would be propriatery in the beginning, looking back over the years how much faster the general computer users have accepted USB devices I do not see any problem transitioning to new USB specs. As the above image shows your older USB (versions 1 and versions 2) will not perform with USB 3 connection. However, as with all USB, they will be backwards compatible. USB 3's extra pin to perform the high transfer speed means new designs and purchases of USB cables. The first USB 3.0 gadgets are to show up sometime in the year 2010. I know it's around the corner but I just can't wait!

Perform the domain transfer way before the expiration date. I am planning to write my experience with Yahoo domain transfers. It was a nightmare and they charged me for renewal just because I didn't transfer in time. But the fact is that they delayed on transferring and charge me anyway.Anyway, the basic transfer procedure is like this: 1) you sign up domain transfer process with your new registrar 2) unlock your domain from your old registrar 3) the new registrar will ask for domain transfer authorization code (this might be named differently but it's a specific code needed to transfer. This prevents any unauthorized transfer other than the domain owner.) 4) provide domain transfer authorization code to new registrar 5) wait for old domain registrar to accept the transfer initiation 6) the new domain registrar will now "bill" your domain name on behalf of you.Getting the authorization code to transfer is hard for Yahoo. It's under your DNS control but it's not easy to find. Once you have this code, you simply enter to your new registrar--or follow the direction provided by your new registrar.Do it in plenty of time to spare. Yahoo took over 7 days in which time my domain was renewed by Yahoo for $35 a year (sons of b**ches!) and I had to go through my credit card company to dispute--which is still pending. You might say no big deal but when 10 domains were renewed like that even after I transferred them to GoDaddy, $35 a pop times 10 isn't pretty

Yes, we have lost few features that we thought it was the best for free web hosting service. And we have gained features that would not have been possible to obtain using our old credit system.I am like any of you--I was happy to have unlimited database and plenty of add-on domains from my Xisto old hosting plan. Although I didn't use to the fullest I like knowing that I have them just in case I need them, someday. But sometimes that's restricting resources that will never be used fully.I am also glad that I am able to purchase domain names and other higher hosting plans, such as VPS, with my unused credits from the past. At times I was wondering what I was going to do with 400+ hosting credits... Now I have 3 domains I purchased with myCENT.So we win some and we lose some. And keep in mind this at all times--myCENT is earned free by participating in Xisto forum. I know we all cannot post like some members around here who can earn high myCENT amounts. I already see some members struggling to make just enough posts to cover their monthly plans. I cannot promise you it will be easy but what I can say is that it's all fair at the end. For those who do spend the extra time contributing meaningful posts earn just enough to purchase hosting plans according to their need. For those who are looking for quick hosting with very little effort soon find out their myCENT value is just not enough to pay the invoice. I feel like Xisto - Web Hosting has changed too fast and it's not what it used to be. But perhaps I am resisting the change myself. I would like to give Xisto - Web Hosting few more weeks to straighten out few things. Once that's over let's comeback to this topic and really point out the faults. But in the meantime, contribute, contribute, and contribute!

Hello Steffi, welcome to Xisto. In case you missed it, we have our handy dandy quick introduction to our forum under Xisto Readme. You can find this link just above the shoutbox or in my signature.Xisto is an online community where we discuss just about everything. And by joining our online discussion group you are rewarded with myCENT, which you can use it to purchase various web hosting services. But before you go and start posting, please remember our basic forum rule--do not spam. I see that you already received a warning. We define spam in most logical way--if you copy and paste you are spamming. And we simply prevent spamming because it will then encourage you to contribute with your thoughts rather than simply pasting someone else's words. Now that you got to know a little bit of our forum through this introduction, please feel free to look around. If there is any question you can contact any moderator. And for your ease you can use the forum search to find topics that may have already answered some of your questions.Happy posting!

Trap17 Myspace Profile! trap17 now has one
BuffaloHelp replied to joeblogg's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'll have to read MySpace's TOS again, but I believe it's against their rules to create an account for a commercial or organization for the purpose of advertising. This excludes special permission obtained by MySpace administrative such as bands or advertising partners. Therefore, only the Xisto group was established under MySpace. OpaQue reads every fine prints :lol:OpaQue has his personal MySpace account which members can add to the friends list. -
