  1. I agree with you. I think that looking for a cure for AIDS or cancer would be a better use of time then dealing with the swine flu. Sure it would be nice to have the vaccination for swine flu, but more people die from cancer then swine flu, and that's getting thrown under a rug right now because of the sudden outbreak.
  2. "Hundreds died in Mexico" because they have a terrible healthcare system. Have you every tried to get treatment in Mexico for a medical condition? It is nearly impossible. Add to that the fact that most families can't afford medicine to treat these conditions.
  3. Your hosting bill will be deducted from your money in your hosting account a few days before the bill is due. If you don't have money in to cover it, your account will be suspended.
  4. The problem with centralized services (ex universal healthcare) is that too many people would take advantage of the system, and drive up costs for all of us. All it takes is people going to the hospital every day for a year (yes it has been done, check weird news) and the prices will slowly increase. It's like having a person digging holes in your favorite highway. The effects of some people (person digging up the road) effects everybody (normal commuters like you an me).
  5. It seems like many people are overreacting to this. Reminds me of SARS an the bird flu. Sure it's bad that it is making tons of people sick and killing some, but it will eventually die out or a vaccine will be made. It really amazes me how paranoid people are...a local drug store was all out of protective masks.
  6. The best government system was Nazism? Are you off your rocker? Nazism only flourished because it boosted morale for Germans after World War I. Think about it, if an entire war was blamed on your country, and your country had to pay money because of it which led to inflation, wouldn't you support a strong leader that wanted to boost morale? This led to hitler selecting a "master race" and clensing the country (and later the continent) of those not fitting that race. Communism (and socialism) will never work. There should be some government regulation to make sure that no company or corperation has too much control over an industry (cough Freddy and Fannie), but not to the extent that the government controls everything. The government shouldn't be telling you what you should or shouldn't be doing (again to an extent). I believe in limited censorship, meaning that there is censorship, but little of it. Meaning that if you want to say that the government sucks...you can do so. If you run a TV show, you can do whatever you want on it, as long as a viewer is informed on the content. As for communism there are even more reasons why it doesn't work. Number one, there is no incentive to work. Since everybody are equal, and everybody earns the same amount of money, what incentive is there to work? If you can earn the same amount as a doctor, as truck driving...is there really a reason to go to college and get a degree when you can earn the same dropping out of high school and truck driving? Complete government control never works, just look at what happened to Berlin. They had to build a wall to keep people in, and many people risked their lives to get to capitalism and out of communism. On the contrary, the United States government has to build a wall to keep people out, coming here because of democracy and capitalism. It really tells you that people tend to prefer capitalism and the ability to earn money over communism and government control. A current day comparison of the Berlin example is North Korea. Not only is North Korea communist, but it is controlled by a luny psychopath (IMHO). The North Koreans are branwashed to believe word for word everything that the leader says, and worship him like a God. There is a certian way that you have to take a photo of "The Great Leader" and he can do nothing wrong. Homes of North Koreans have no family pictures, but pictures of Kim Jung Ill and his father. The North Koreans have no Internet, and all the TV stations are controlled by the government, so the government can manipulate the news and tell the residents whatever they want them to hear. Border crossings are similar to the Berlin wall, consisting of electric fences and minefields. The few places where you can cross safely are guarded by north Korean forces who are instructed to shoot anybody trying to cross, even fellow guards. The few people that do escape get their family (including extended family) killed. This is all my opinion, with facts scattered around (the North Korea part is all factual though) so feel free to disagree with it, just provide an answer why you disagree.
  7. Nothing will compare to the original 150/151 pokemon. All these new hybrids and pokemon cloning are terrible. Gold/Silver/Crystal were ok and Ruby/Sapphire/Emeral were tolerable, but "catching them all" when there's 1000 pokemon is too hard.As for the remake, they better not make too many changes to it or else nobody will buy it. It's bad enough that they are remaking it (Gameboy Color for the win) but if they add too much to it, the game will be ruined.
  8. Which TLD extension do you like the best? I like .com then .net and finally .us. I think that .com is the best because it is the most used extension and is easy to remember. I think that .net is also good for network sites, but not all sites.
  9. I tried this company, but not only did it take a while for them to activate my account, but the server was slow and had a ton of downtime. They are much better than 000, but Xisto beats them any day. It is also worth noting how small the free hosting plans are compared to other sites.
  10. You could try the Freeware program called GIMP. I have never used it, but I have heard that it is user-friendly and a great software. If you are willing to pay a few hundred dollars for a much more powerful and professional program, get Photoshop. I use this program and it is my favorite software ever. You can do anything on it, but it takes a long time to figure out all the settings and options.
  11. matak,I can make some for you. Do you have a specific design or color scheme in mind?
  12. Do they make you buy it after a year? Because I know some of the 'good' co.cc domains such as google.co.cc you have to pay for and are very expensive. Ash is right, and I would never use a co.cc domain, because they can legally take your domain forever, and there is nothing you can do about it.
  13. The reason why I want one there is so that members don't have to scroll down to login, but I can see what you are saying. The theme that I'm using is the first that I have seen that has two banners, and I thought that evetually it would look crowded. I would space the words out more, but the "ALL THAT REMAINS" part is the band's logo, and I don't have the psd to that :XD: I could look into that. I could do that, the icons that I use aren't really that interesting, so I could make those better while I'm at it. Thanks I have a dropdown on my other forum, but it seems that users barely use it, so I may get rid of that feature anyway. I rarely use it as well. Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate them!
  14. My computer is too old for Boot Camp. I could run Windows as a dual-boot, but I don't know if XP would run on the computer.
  15. Thanks africa. The site is undergoing a change, and a new section will be added. Although the promotion gave us a few members, we are still going pretty slow, but faster then my other site.
  16. The thing is, the version of Mac OS X that I have won't run the jailbreak, so I would have to run it on Windows. The Windows computer I would be using would have rights to install software, but QuickPwn said that I had to be an admin to run THAT software. If I wanted to install iTunes or another application (such as Photoshop) I could do it on there, but it won't let me run QuickPwn. Is there any other jailbreaks out that that are safe and trusted?
  17. Have you even read the topic? These pirates have no other means of income. I'm not justifying what they did, but telling them to "Get a Life" isn't productive.
  18. The pirate bay is a completely different issue, as nobody loses their lives by means of Internet piracy.
  19. I've decided to jailbreak it, once I get a new iPod from apple. This one wasn't made right, so I'm just going to backup everything on it, and get a new iPod. I have seen various program for jailbreaking, but all the ones that I have tried only allow the administrator of that computer to run the software. Does anybody know of a jailbreaking software that allows you to be a normal user and run it. I don't have any windows computers, and getting to one where I have admin rights is nearly impossible. Also, how do you download Apps to a jailbroken iPod? Is there a 3rd party App Store, or do you have to download the files from a website. Thanks
  20. There was a program about piracy on 20/20 about a month ago. Ships use a varity of ways to try to ward off pirates including fire hoses, annoying sirens, and warnings. I'm pretty sure that even before Pirates of the Carribean was released, there was piracy going on around the world. There are also pirates in the Gulf of Mexico and the Carribean sea, as Americas Most Wanted did a segment about it about a year ago.
  21. Exactly. Piracy is so popular because a pirate can feed his family for a long time for just one ship's ransom/his part of it. The United Nations should be stepping in right now, and I see no reason why they shouldn't. They are international waters, so anybody should be able to travel there without getting killed or having their boat seized.
  22. Google will accept mostly anything. I had a UNI.cc domain with no hits and a link to a small forum to get approved by Google. Of course getting the money will be much harder since google seems to like to ban a lot of people for no reason at all.
  23. You probably don't want to set the iPod to sync with your computer, especially if you delete music off your computer. I find it easier to just put whatever music I want on my iPod manually, since if I can't find it to put on, it probably isn't a song I will listen to.
  24. I haven't joined digitalpoint because of how many people are banned there, mostly for no reason. It is a great place if you want to sell things online and the such though. I heard that mods there have permission to ban people, and the admins there rarely post.Xisto all the way
  25. The new logo is up :XD:Also I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the lead singer promoted my site (and as far as I know, he likes it too). It gave me close to 700 uniques nearly a week ago. He posted it via Twitter and Myspace
