  1. Hi! Just threw in a vote for Heartless Creations. The name's really catchy. Neat sig, too!
  2. Hi there! Just checked out some of your poems. I must say you have a gift. If you do have more, have you ever thought of sending them to a publisher? Just a thought. By the way, I wonder if you have made any haiku in English? Keep up the good work!
  3. Very original design, but at first I found it a bit difficult to navigate through the menu. Had to find it in the drawings first! Maybe put a sign/symbol that indicates where the menu is may help.
  4. I just took a look at the site myself. I found it difficult to put it under just one category, too. At the moment, I'd still consider it a personal website - with a slant towards web design.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. I have Power Point but I hardly ever use it. Now this will give me another reason not to use it for a while.
  6. Just check out the 3dolla site. Very simple and the page loaded rather quickly. Good choice of colours, too!
  7. Terrible news happened this morning in Japan. A train crashed into an apartment building killing 50 people and injuring about 230 others. Here's the article.
  8. Okay, here are my favourite drinks...and they're not ranked in order of what I like the most to the least. Here goes...- Water...whether it be mineral, soda or filtered tap water, it's refreshing!- Beer...perfect for a barbeque on a hot summer day...and at parties- Ginger Ale...my favourite soft drink..with Vernors as the best ginger ale I ever had- Root Beer...a close second. Too bad it's kinda difficult to get here in Japan- Tea (in any form)...Cold oolong tea is my personal favourite (at least the ones that are mass-produced in Japan...although many have told it isn't like the oolong tea made in China)
  9. I have a NOKIA myself, although it's getting a bit old now. (I've had it for about three years).
  10. In Canada, I've always used Colgate. Since it's hard to find that brand here in Japan, I use either GUM or ORA2 toothpaste.
  11. As for me, I like many kinds of food. I've always enjoyed Mexican food. In Canada, there was plenty of Tex-Mex food available, so I still kinda miss it while in Japan. On the other hand, I tried a lot of Japanese food here. Believe me, there's more to it than just raw fish. There's a type of "as you like it" pancake called okonomiyaki, rice balls, miso soup, natto (fermented soy beans...it took me a while to eat it, but now I enjoy the taste), pork cutlets, oden, ramen (Chinese noodles)...the list goes on. As for Western food, there are a lot of Italian restaurants around in case I get a craving for some great pasta and pizza.
  12. Well, even though technology has made significant advances in recent years, I certainly don't see ourselves living on the moon in our lifetime. Like some people mentioned here, space stations are a possibility.
  13. Just checked out the design now. Looks great - nice and simple with a great colour scheme. I'm not a big fan of using frames either.
  14. It's hard for me to pick a single favourite book, but I'll list a few ones off the top of my head that I really liked: The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien) - one fo the best fantasy adventures ever - and a great precursor to the LOTR series A Wild Sheep Chase and Dance Dance Dance (Haruki Murakami) - very surreal story set (for the most part) in Hokkaido. A fine example of post-modern literature. Learning to Bow (Bruce S. Feiler) - A fine insight of a teacher's experiences in Japan while teaching English at a junior high school. Although by now it seems a bit dated (the book was published in the early 90's), a lot of what the writer observed still holds true in some ways today.
  15. I agree. With the choices you have, why NOT have both on your hosting account? If you can't decide one or the other, go for both!
  16. A friend of mine showed me his PSP (North American model). Mind you, I was impressed that you could watch a movie on it, too. (He had the Spiderman II cartridge in it). Even so, he also said that the PSP has NOT been selling that well in Canada and will probably be replaced in the next year, if not before. I know the PSP has been available in Japan for a while now and there have been reports of many problems.
  17. Even though the possibility of flying cars seems not too far away, who's going to afford it? I wonder if it might be cheaper to get a pilot's licence than to buy the Skycar.
  18. In my high school days, I used to play the piano (outside of school) and the clarinet (music class and concert band). Nowadays, I'm lucky to play the piano every once in a while. While I'm on topic, I've always wanted to play guitar. I'd be happy playing acoustic guitar myself - as I could carry it along with me anywhere I go. As well, it would be a great instrument to have on hand at a campfire. (Synthesizers are great, but it's bloody difficult to carry around and there are no power plugs close by.)
  19. That proverbial mountain may not be so hard to climb if you make a good post every day. For one-liners, you'll probably won't get even 1 hosting credit. I went with package 1 for now, but if it turns out I'll need more space, I'll make a request for an upgrade. I'm close to 30 credits now, but I wonder if I'll have to start over again and build up to 30 plus credits again.
  20. Personally, I like Playstation 2 the best. It can double as a DVD player and not only are the prices going down for this console, it's getting slimmer, too. (This is the case in Japan, not sure about on the other side of the pond)
  21. Well, if this question came up about 5-6 years ago, I would've gone for anime myself.Since I've been in Japan for a while now, I've become more of a "manga" person. In a lot of ways, you can get a better idea of the manga creator's true sense of the characters, motivations and the story. To be fair, whenever a popular manga is turned into an anime series, some of that sense is lost. Another thing is that sometimes an anime series ends when there is still more story to be covered. For example, in Japan the Inuyasha TV series ended last September. This is around volume 36 of the manga, yet the comic is still continuing the story (right now it is around volume 40). The final episode was a disappointment because there were still things that were left unresolved.
  22. Welcome aboard, sleepy! You certainly found a great community here. I've met lots of interesting people and there are a lot of topics to talk about. Can't wait to see the website youy're planning to make. Have fun and see you around in the forums!
  23. As for me, I recommend anything by Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku and the Mermaid series). For shojo manga/anime, Marmalade Boy is a good choice (although a bit outdated).I'm surprised nobody mentioned Rurouni Kenshin. I used to watch this series when the fansubs became available around 1997/98.3 x 3 Eyes is another great one if you're into stories of the supernatural.Last, but not least, anything by CLAMP deserves worthy attention.
  24. Well I just learned that the NHL have opted to NOT use replacement players and that they will not start the season until a negotiated agreement is in place. See it could be that we may be in for a repeat of last "non-season" this fall. Check out the TSN Article for more details and feel free to comment.
  25. Ditto here. I like the design - very simple and functional. Too bad I can't read Croatian, but aside from that it looks very nice.
