  1. First of all, before I ask my question, I do understand that running a server and running a bot on this hosting is against the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, I am not asking to do either as stated in the rules.Am I allowed to have a Java IRC client on my site for people to be able to connect to another server, or is that against the rules as well? I haven't been able to track down an answer to the question in the search function, so I thought I would check it out here before I add anything to my website. If this question has already been answered, feel free to just provide a link if anyone doesn't feel like explaining it to me.Sincerely,Karusune
  2. Before the days of choice, I was an Internet Explorer user since I had started on Microsoft Windows 3.0 as well as what came after it, and I must admit that it was a horrible experience.Since the initial release of Mozilla Firefox, I have been interested because it is much nicer and easier to run than the horrible OS-driven Internet Explorer. The navigation is easy to get used to and it's easy to transport from one place to another with it considering it can be portible. One browser for every OS, that's how it SHOULD be.
  3. The glory days were definitely something I cherish now that we have moved onto bigger but not always better things with newer consoles and updated graphics. I would say better, but graphics that look amazing but act like crap are not better considering some games are so bugged down that the game is almost unplayable, but the graphics themselves could be acceptable. When it all comes down to it, the game needs to leave a memorable feeling to the gamer in order for it to be something special, and there are many games that have done that for me. I remember...Tetris AttackEarthboundSuper Mario WorldSF2UniracersMario KartThere are many games I would consider amazing that are more playable than games we have right now, that's because the developers of SNES titles knew how to get the job done. They had nothing on these new developers.
  4. It's definitely a game that is starting to spread around since I now know at least fifteen people out of my friends who own it, and they are all out of copies at our local Gamestop. The only other thing I can suggest when it comes to the price is to get the PC version which I hear is going to be cheaper, not to mention people who have a good PC or Mac will be able to play it. I don't have any of the details regarding the system requirements, but I will post them as soon as I figure them out so people can find out whether or not they want to buy them. The developer has stated that they are wanting the most amount of people to be able to play it, so I am guessing the requirements are going to be rather standard, AKA if you can play games like Counter-Strike: Source and such, you should be able to play it. Even then, there's always Frets on Fire using the USB guitar controller which allows you to import tracks from other sources.
  5. There are quite a few stranger games out there such as the Beatmania series as well as the Dance Dance Revolution series, so this is actually one of the more moderate musical games out there. I was quite impressed with the very first game, which is what got me into it from the very start, but I may not have been interested in the game if it weren't for the fact that I was already hopelessly hooked on the DDR series. Needless to say, I play the games quite a bit and will continue to play on the Guitar controller even when Rock Band comes out on the consoles, which in my opinion may be the superior game.May I also add on that the final encore is not a single song, you are battling against Lou (the devil) on The Devil Went Down To Georgia, which is the metal version of the song. Unlike the other battles in the career mode, you don't get to play a song at the end.
  6. In my opinion, it's definitely worth the $100 that it costs, but if you're purchasing it for the PS2 you can just go ahead and buy the game. It runs on the old controllers and everything. Here's a song list for you though:1. Starting Out Small* "Slow Ride" ? Foghat* "Talk Dirty to Me" ? Poison* "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" ? 7. It is finally here, and it is time to shred as fast as humanly possible as we encounter insane solos, difficult hammer-ons, and the most sadistic battles we have ever seen. That's right, Guitar Hero III has been released on the consoles and the battle for dominance has already begun.I have been lucky enough to get a copy of the game from a local Blockbuster, being the first person to rent it from the store since I don't have the money to actually purchase the game at this moment. I only had the preorder payment which goes towards the cost of the game at this point because I didn't get it for preorder. To put it simple, this morning I had the chance to look at the CD for the first time and put it into my PS2, read to make some noise. The very first thing I noticed was how the game loaded since it was a lot different, and how the menus worked and such. As it had already been explained, there is a co-op play mode where people can go as a team and shred down six of the eight venues and make noise, though the co-op doesn't give you the bosses.Speaking of the bosses, each of these three bosses have their own characteristics in the game in which they play a bit differently, but at the same time, it's going to take everything you have and more to be able to beat them at their own game. First of all, Tom Morello is good enough to kick your self up and down those stairs, not to mention make you shake with every note. However, if you're able to gain the courage to pick up the guitar and hit your insane solos, you will be able to put him away once and for all as you move on with the game.Slash is where things start to become absolutely wicked as you face him, and there are quite a few difficult songs on the way to even making it to him so by now your hands may be tired. At this point, he is not going to be nice to you and he is here to stop you from where you stand. With his insane ability to strum that guitar, you're going to have to deal with the song he wrote and his ability to run up and down that guitar. The best way to defeat him is to just be confident, for without wanting to beat him and knowing that you can, you won't survive and he will shake you off in a single moment. The final boss is a major pain in the rear, considering that The Devil, Lou, can throw everything including the Kitchen Sink at you all at once, and there is not a single thing you can do to stop him. He will hit you with left flips, strum bars, and even the double notes that will quickly disrupt your flow. He also taunts you with his quick fingering, and his ability to go from red to green in a mere second, which makes him seem almost impossible. The only way to defeat him is to outplay and outmatch him at every single part of the song, and send him back to hell where he belongs. The music featured in this game is absolutely amazing as you will hear many originals as well as re-recordings of some famous tracks. The second you go head to head on Raining Blood, or even if you're going to be playing Welcome to the Jungle, you're going to feel the burn throughout your fingers as you try to catch up. Hell, these songs aren't anything to play with considering this game is much harder than the rest of the series. My Rating: 10/10Activision, you rule.
  8. I don't quite understand how the series will be able to carry on now that the mad man behind the game is proven to be dead, not to mention his assistance died as well. I haven't seen the movie, have watched some trailers for it, and will definitely watch the movie to find out what happens, but I cannot help but wonder how they are going to handle this entire situation. If they were to decide to continue it even past Saw IV, there would have to be a lot of careful considerations to be made since people don't like to lose certain characters as you stated before, but one thing I know for certain is that they would never try and jeopardize the entire franchise for a bit of money. Think about how well made the movies are, and then apply that to their tactics when creating the movies and the characters. The universe revolves around the characters, and if they have to replace jigsaw now with another character for some reason, they are going to find a clever way to do it to where fans will not feel left down.At the very least, they will give us what we want. Screams.
  9. In my honest opinion, there really shouldn't be a chosen age as to when a child should be allowed to own a mobile phone because I personally know a ten year old child who is more responsible than almost any sixteen year old child around here. When it comes down to responsibility and being able to keep the minutes/texts down, the parent just needs to know that they can trust the child and that the child will not lose the cell phone. It would be bad to lose the cell phone just for someone else to be able to rank up a few extra minutes before you can have it disabled.I personally received my first cell phone about three months ago, but up until then I never really needed one because I never really did anything. I was told I was responsible enough, I just didn't do that much outside of the area until recently.

When it comes down to deciding what to use in order to remove the Media Protection from the music files, you need to understand what program you are purchasing the music from and whether or not the program will be able to remove the protection from it. This kind of idea is a bit shady, though you can have absolute proof that you did, indeed, purchase the song through the website by using their own receipt as proof in the case of legal action. I am not sure what kind of program you would want for each individual type of file, what stores are you purchasing music from?
  11. It's great that you have such an outlook on life, and I could only wish other people would be able to see things that way as well. Sometimes, it's almost as though people never want to take the easy way out of things by merely being nice to each other, and instead, must cause problems for others just because they are different. What I believe in may not be what other people believe in, but it's the fact that I at least do believe in something that matters, right?
  12. Religion is definitely a way that people are going to connect with each other because human beings want interaction with other beings. We are interested in the lives of others because we can connect another individual's life with our own, which is a way to appease our curiousity. However, when we are lied to and are forced to believe something other than the truth, we are deceived into believing something other than what we want. When the human mind is lied to and it finds the truth, it could react violently by either physically attacking the liar, or mentally attacking them by spreading the truth around.I guess you could say that's how the United States is reacting to terrorism right now. There are a select few that know some sort of truth from the studies that they have done, and they have spread it around in order to let the truth be known. Those who were raised to give 100% trust in our government will either shrug it off or try to fight against it by giving false information only because they are too afraid to accept what appears to be the truth. It's sad that people can be taken by a false belief only to be shown the truth. Those who truly believe in the lies will follow them despite the proof being given to them...Personally, I have absolutely no problem with what people want to believe in, in terms of the god they choose or the many gods they want to believe in because that is not going to affect me. As long as they respect me for who I am, I am going to respect them for who they are. The main problem through all of this is the fact that there are people who will attack someone personally based on what they believe in, even if the other person has not done a single thing to threaten the attacker. That is the main reason why I do not believe in modern day philosophy.
  13. With an influence from Korean culture as well as the cultures of America and Latin-based countries, Pump It Up gives players a new view about music as well as the physical aspect of "dancing" as some people will call it. In this game, the player must step on certain colored panels depending on how the arrows are positioned on the screen while the arrows will move according to the beat and rhythm of the music. The game itself is separated into certain difficulties in order to ensure that many people will be able to enjoy the game on different settings. Here's a run down of how the dance pad itself is situation.[1] [3] [2][4] [5]This is a single pad.1 = Upper Left2 = Center3 = Upper Right4 = Lower Left5 = Lower RightWhen positioned at the top of the screen, the arrows will be in this order.41235The object of playing on a single pad is to be as accurate as you can as the arrows start from the bottom and reach the top of the play area. The first player will have their arrows display on the left of the screen while the second player will have the arrows display on the right side of the screen. When a song starts, the entire screen will be blank except for place holders near the top and a life bar that displays how close the player is to possibly fail the song. When it comes to arrows on the screen, you will see something similar to this:412354 2 3When a colored panel reaches the place holder at the top of the screen, the player is expected to tap that panel on the floor with their foot at the same time it passes over. Tapping a little bit before or after will give less points, and missing the panel will deduct from the life bar. If the life bar reaches all red, or runs out, the player has failed the song.[1] [3] [6] [8] [2] [7][4] [5] [9] [0]This is a double pad.1 = Left Side, Upper Left2 = Left Side, Center3 = Left Side, Upper Right4 = Left Side, Lower Left5 = Left Side, Lower Right6 = Right Side, Upper Left7 = Right Side, Center8 = Right Side, Upper Right9 = Right Side, Lower Left0 = Right Side, Lower RightWhen positioned at the top of the screen, the arrows will be in this order:4123596780The game is a lot similar in this fashion, except there are five more arrows to deal with when playing on the pad. The arrows will come on both sides of the screen, though the arrows will meet in the center of the display as one player will be playing on both pads. Here's a run down of the different difficulty settings:Easy - This is for those who are starting out in the game. People will be able to play comfortably after a little practice on this level as it is meant to prepare people for the hard mode of the game.Hard - The step charts in the hard setting will exhibit a more advanced style of game as there will be some faster songs to step to. The charts may become a bit difficult and fast, but nothing too difficult will be given in this mode. For example, on the number scale, Dignity and Final Audition are two of the hardest songs in this category as of PIU: Exceed.Crazy - The step charts in this setting are meant to be played by people who are comfortable with this style of play. The steps can be both fast and frantic as the player will have to jump around a single pad with accuracy. Another aspect of this style of play is the introduction of large amounts of steps where one will have to hit three or more panels at the same time.Double - This is the easier of the two difficulties that are played with two pads. One would want to be able to clear Hard if they are to check out the Double difficulty as the range of difficulty is a bit more diverse here.Nightmare - This is the harder of the two difficulties. Steps in this category will most likely resemble the crazy steps of that song, though the steps will be a bit more difficult and will have the player stepping accurately on both sides of the pad. Expert players will have a hard time with the hard songs in this category, such as Canon-D and Dignity.I personally enjoy this game because of the music and the rhythm that comes with this style of gameplay. People who play Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania may also find themselves interested in this style of gameplay, though the style is a bit more frantic than other dance games. The Crazy and Nightmare modes have been considered a bit too difficult for the average player.
  14. Firefox Campus Edition merely seems to be the normal Firefox with the exception of a few new addons that would aim more towards a college student or someone who wants access to a bit more information while accessing the internet. I will most likely check this out tonight when I am doing a few updates on my computer as it seems it would run rather nicely on my computer. However, I am a bit sceptical about Firefox 3.0 Alpha because most Alpha releases will have some sort of problem. Then again, this isn't Microsoft we are talking about, so it might be a little safe.Anyone tried either edition and have something to comment about it?
  15. The portable version of Firefox is rather interesting, considering you can save bookmarks and all of this other stuff while browsing the internet. It's perfect if you're on someone else's computer and do not wish to use what they have installed on their computer, or you want to keep your bookmarks on you. Unfortunately right now, I am currently running Internet Explorer on this computer because I accidentally left my USB stick at home, but I normally put that it and log into the computer network with Firefox. The only problem is that the portable version I have is an older version of firefox, I am not sure if 2.0 will work portable or not.
