I just stumbled upon a game called 'X-Plane'. I don't have it but it looks awesome. It is a flight simulator game which when fully updated exceeds 80GB (Yes, eighty gigabytes). It has the terrain of the whole world, and guess what? It's free too, and guess what again? It's on linux too. well, here is the game's official website http://www.x-plane.com/desktop/home/ The full game is too large to download, so you'll have to order the DVDs NOTE: The full game is less than 60GB, but the fully updated full game can exceed 80GB NOTE: You require a Joystick to play. here are just some screen shots of the game... If there is already a topic about X-Plane, I am sorry, but the search didn't return anything similar to X-PLane

LCDs tend to be a lot sharper but that'll come at the expense of anti-aliasing so I recommend using LCDs in a media centre. Because then you can tell the GPU to do for example 16xAA?Plasmas tend to have higher contrasts (blacker blacks and whiter whites) but since they burn in and their extremely high power comsumption they might just fall a little behind LCD. I prefer LCD since it uses a lot less power, its sharper (so better for windows applications if your using MC) it also has the advantage of better PC inputs (some Full HD (1080p, 1920x1080 res) will only support VGA) such as DVI, VGA, HDMI, S-Video etc...So I recommend LCD, but if you really want to plasma is fine. There are down-points to LCD such as stuck pixels, low contrast, poor viewing angles. The decision is mainly up to you, but I and many others recommend LCD*off topic slightly* GO LCD!!!!!!*end slightly off topic*

I think China and India will rise up...China might just go a little higher. But India will be still very superpowered. The main reason is because they are both very rapidly developing countries. China has the most potential because not only do the world's main supply of stuff (i.e. Clothes, toys etc) depend on China. India on the other hand still has potential but not enough. China and India will beat the other on some subjects though. China might beat India on military power, while india might beat china economically.Remember, these two countries both have nuclear power, nuclear bombs, and other high tech stuff. China also has the technology to destroy satellites and are already blinding US spy satellites with something. These two countries all have great potential.

Wow, bring back a 1 year old topic...Anyway this would have some serious issues. You're talking about a whole region? that would have serious latency issues, and I don't think even 2 full sized racks full of blade servers will even handle this...There is something called simcity online, where there is a region. You build a little bit and put it online, someone else comes on and builds a little more. I would like this idea. Maybe EA make a game called Simcity Online? So my modified version of the original idea.So you get experience from doing missions (like maybe bringing a city's economy back online or something) and the person with the most experience does the most important parts of the city like th infrastructure so they have complete control of every part of the region and lay down the most important infrastructural pieces (i.e. Highways, Railways pipes) but they are to be of major importance, since the smaller infrastructure is to be built by the local mayor. So maybe region with 15 cities.Highest Rank = InfrastructureHigh Rank = CBD + Nearby Neighborhoods Med-High Rank = High tech Industry, Main Industrial AreasMed Rank = Wealthy Residential + Shopping CentresMed-Low Rank = Normal Residential Areas, low tech industryLow Rank = Agricultural, Rural Infrastructure Lowest Rank = Slums, repair wo/man for fallen parts of the city.As you probably have noticed the low rank also has 'Rural infrastructure' so the highest rank won't be doing all of the city. The Highest rank only goes out to the farest reaches of the main city, not agricultural. So yeah... As you get higher rank, you can move up the ladder to do better things...

I think you meant Simcity 4...I played every sim game (including Sim Nuclear Power Plant) and I reckon The Simcity series were the best. I never liked the Sims games. I remember when Simcity 3000 Unlimited came out, I was running to the local game store. Simcity 4 was even better, Rush Hour was even better. I used to create replicas of real cities (i.e. Melbourne, Hamilton, NZ etc)Oh... why does EA have to buy out Maxis, now they've stopped the Simcity x series and what next? Simcity Societies? that sounds alot like the game which is on Simcity 3kU as a trailer (can't think of its name).

The number of whales could be from 2000 to 100,000. Remember, they might not be whales, but creatures like whales that have adpated so they can live without sunlight and breath sulphur? but who knows whats down there, unless we can map every single square centimetre of the ocean we won't know.

The 2002-2005 ones are really good, but the 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007 ones aren't good at all. The 1999 one looked like some kid did it.*Off topic* jlhaslip just reminded me of a saying... "Hallowed are the Ori"*end off topic*Well, google might give competitions to schools, etc to design the 2008 halloween banner...

Theoretical Question - Teleportation? Question 1
csp4.0 replied to galexcd's topic in Science and Technology
What is we could create an artificial wormhole just for a few milli/micro seconds, we compress something (for now lets just say a milligram of iron)and change it to an electrical signal (so we disintegrate it, store the individual atoms/molecules and data) then put it in the wormhole, on the other side the signals containing data will be recognized and reintegrated into the original thing. So this would go well with the stargate thing. But consider this alternative. It would not require an artificial wormhole so it would be more possible.A thing lets just say 1 milligram of iron is kept in a clean chamber with 100% vacuum, some wierd ray separates each atom/molecule and turns it into data. We store that data (for example in a RAM chip) and then transfer the data into radio signals, laser signal, infrared etc and it is received on the other side. Extra data stored will allow the receiving unit to change the signals and then store the data temporarily and change the data into the required molecules. The 1 milligram of iron will be copied exactly at th other end, and the original data is destroyed (also possible for a 'stargate' or similar thing). Before we can start teleporting things, we'll need to create some sort of 'disintegration ray' so that the subject can be disintegrated into individual atoms/molecules and then be transported and/or cloned. The atoms/molecules will also need to be contained so they don't go 'flying away'.The cloning process must be perfect or else continued use will result in deformation. The teleportation process must also be perfect to insure that no atoms/molecules are lost during transportation/cloning.I reckon that teleportation won't be possible for atleast 300 years, and the energy needed will be too much for Earth's current energy generation to handle. -
I played the multiplayer beta, it was alot slower than Supreme Commander, but now the rushing tactic no longer works.I remember when I liked being armour but since I always get killed by Air I became support. I like support now because of its long range artillery, I never liked leading my troops to fight on the front line.World in Conflict really allowed to play tactically rather than just building a whole blockade of tanks and rushing.I haven't played the retail game yet but might buy it after I complete my computer project and finish two other planned things (Collect Warhammer figurings, and Start a game collection)

Ftp Trap17 Account Help Please cPanel issues and cant upload files
csp4.0 replied to Liam_CF's topic in Web Hosting Support
um... you could try instead of logging in using http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but just using liamssite.trap17.comAlso try typing out your username and password one by one, instead of just typing them in normally. You cPanel password could be different from your forum password since you get you choose it when signing up for it...Also according to the error report your password is wrong. As I said before type it in one by one. Also what FTP client are you using? make sure you are using one that is up to date, and you might want to consider using IPv6 since it supports it and it is a better version. Also you are kind of low on credits, if it doesn't work get 20 hosting credits and just apply for a password change. Also check that your options are correct. So that it might be blocking you out unless it has a certificate or something... -
I like the Simpsons, futurama, family guy.But my favourite will have to be either Tom & Jerry or... Looney Tunes...Others I also liked were Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob SquarepantsThe Old classics such as Tom & Jerry or the Looney Tunes were the best since, it was really classic jokes and those newer cartoons have tried to copy them in great failure...

Google Map Catches Ufo? whatever it is, it is on google map :P

no... or else they won't have to use thermoelectric cooling systems (or is it phase change cooling) but things that face the sun get baked while on the other side it is ice cold. Could be temporary lights, i remember in Melbourne, AUS on the Princes Highway there are always these lights that are shaped circle'lish and are about the size of a small hatchback. They are also Grey. They are normally used when street lights nearby are under repair or something. It could be those temporary lights, the chances of this being UFOs is really slim since if it were UFOs it would have been front page stuff. Another thing is that these lights cast a very light shadow that is barely visible, because they have a very thing pole and the globe is translucent. I could compare it to a moon when viewed at night from a distance. It could also be transmission towers, or something like that. But is pretty unlikely. In one of those pictures, right next to one is landscape which looks almost identical to the moon's. -
I prefer wired, it is alot more reliable and most of the time it is just 'plug and play' while with wireless you'll have to set it up, which may take a long time. Also, some people might hack your wireless and steal your internet.I remember when i used to have a wireless network. there was just too much lag in the games i was playing (cnc: renegade).I recommend wired networks until people have perfected wireless technology, there is just too many things that can go wrong...

be yourself, and make sure that you don't pretend to be a different person. Also about her friend, just ignore her (not ignore her like give her the silent treatment, but ignore her interference). Gt closer and closer to her and when you become good friends just stay that way until you're ready to have a relationship. Take it slowly and you'll get it right. As for the MSN thing or something, just ask her as if your asking her for a piece of paper or something... don't just go up to her and go 'what's your MSN'? or "sweetie? what is your MSN account'? do it easily yet humble so something like 'Can I have your MSN?' or something like that, don't be stupid and don't embarrass her. There are plenty of articles on Xisto that tell you how to treat a girl etc... So yeah...Oh, and... aaa... Good Luck *winks*

OH! I remember when I was 4. I was riding my bike there was a truck blocking my way and there was a very high curb. I pressed the brakes but it pressed them too hard and the bike's wheels locked, the front wheels locked first so the bike tipped forward. I jumped off th bike just before it tipped fully forward, but I landed on my stomach and skidded maybe? 2 metres? It was currently the most painful thing I have ever felt, my skin was partly ripped off but luckily it wasn't deep, so in about 3 weeks I was back to normal again. The only thing left was a faint scar that faded away.

If you are going to get a cat, I recommend getting one which isn't too old or too young. I personally like older cats since they have 'life experience' although the person above me is right... Kittens are cute.I suggest you pick a cat whom you like and the cat likes you. There are some cats who just doesn't like you and some others who'll love you.The coat is also very important, some cats shed alot, and some doesn't. The colour is on you, which ever one you like. The cat should also be very healthy, and should never have broken bones. You should also live near a vet, or can get medical attention to your cat if it has an accident or something. So the cat should be with you until you or it dies, I severely DO NOT recommend that you abandoned the cat, it'll break your heart and it'll break your cat's.I used to have a cat, whom I loved very much. When I was visiting another country, the cat became very sad and didn't eat anything. When I came back it was like a cat that hasn't eaten anything in 2 months. About 1 week later it died. I did all that I could but ultimately it died, I cried and cried. So don't abandon a pet, you won't know what it feels like...

You have to remember that the show was set in 2005 not today, back then we would of dreamed that we had those components. The person doesn't look as surprised as he should of been although it does look kind of scripted, that guy is supposed to act more if he was really unaware that he won...

Remember, GHz means nothing if you're comparing 2 different types of CPUs. A 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo will outperform a 3GHz Pentium D Dual-Core.I suggest getting a futureproof computer, the specs don't have to be that good but it has to be future proof:P35 Chipset (ASUS Blitz Extreme) or X38 (if you want to wait)45nm CPU possibly the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 (US$300-US$400)2GB+(DDR2 800MHz+ DDR3 1333MHz+) (2x1GB or 1x2GB)Atleast 160GB of hard disk space, and make sure you're getting one with 7200RPM or if you really want to 10,000RPMNOTE: A 1TB 7200RPM HDD will have better seek times than a 150GB 10,000RPM HDDA good graphics card is essential to games, 3d applications, and even vista...I recommend the 8800gts 320mb if you have a monitor with lower resolutions (1650x1050-) but with higher resolutions (1920x1200+) i recommend the 8800gts640mb, but if you can afford that monitor an 8800gtx/ultra shouldn't hurt that much...If you're really poor (or just don't play that much games, or don't want to spend all your money on a gpu) then I recommend the 8600gts, it is alot better than ATI's HD 2600 and would still allow you to consider turning on some of the DX10 effects...So yeah, if you want a computer, I'd go for future proofing first then try if you can squeeze out a little more money to upgrade your components...

The Glory Days Of Snes Cant quite describe it...
csp4.0 replied to Seidhrith's topic in Computer Gaming
ahhhh... remember the old days? Those 16-bit and even those 8-bit colour games were the best... The game developers really made the games good, asnd remember the 2-bit game... um.. um... Pong? that game was the best and what about games like space invaders? those games were extremely good ideas... -
I go on Xisto everyday (almost) but I ain't that addicted. I barely ever look at other people's profiles and i barely spend more than 1 hours on Xisto (maximum). My addiction also increase the lower my points go, but right now I'm trying to get more credits so that I can upgrade my hosting package... so my current addiction percentage is... 62% But my normal addiction percentage is... 51% so there you have it...

who wouldn't be jealous of that guy? Even now that computer would still be very good, and the case would still attract people and stuff like that...I think it would of done very well as an online show, but I'm not so sure of a televised show since not many 'computer geeks' watch that much TV.I wonder why XFX cancelled it... I do think that it is better than 'Pimp my ride' but pretty much on par with monster garage (since they do it for a good cause (i.e. giving a car to a good friend))Remember the show was made like 2 years ago and some of the stuff that they say is way outdated, but hey back then we would of thought that this computer will be future proof for 2 years... but now you can get on (not including the case) for like $1500I do hope that XFX or some other enthusiast company keeps these shows going, because it will increase publicity to that company and would show that not all big companies (like EA) aren't have bad (well maybe not EA, it'll take them a llllloooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggg time to get them on track)

you could easily rent out a local store or something and just buy a server and some desks and chairs and heaps of cables and plugs etc, and just like host a lan party or something maybe with an entrance price of like $1 or $2? and have competitions like win a 8800gts? or something like that, it'll be a great way to start of a new business and may even move it city wide then state-wide, then country-wide and maybe even world wide if you're lucky...

but what if instead of completely different universes what if there was parallel universes so that each decision that we make creates a parallel universe, but so there would be so many universes, and what if black holes were merely an alien device that requires so much energy that they needed to place the device in the middle of a supergiant or a blue giant, and it ultimately used up the star's resources so fast that only in a couple of billion years the star went supernova, but what if there was a second stage to the device a stage that would ultilize the power of a black hole, or even maybe generate a black hole? neutron stars maybe failed experiments. So lets take wormholes, what if they were blackholes on a smaller scale, or what if the stuff that gets squashed into a singularity returns to its original form after it goes through to the other end, or what is black holes are like traps, designed to lure things into them so whatever lives on the inside captures it.Or... it is a gateway to the heavens, in other words a gateway to another plane of existence. Imagine what would happen if the subspace wormholes from different blackholes/wormholes crossed paths? could that create a tear in the universe itself?could it be the end of the universe when wormholes are crossed? it would explain the infinite darkness.

I never thought that it was going to be this... I thought it was going to be on the playstation portable or a paystation path. can anyone give an example, or a link showing a website made using PSP? because I've never actaully seen PSP code or website... Maybe there should be another acronym such as PASPA Pascal Server Pages... can anyone post up some pascal code saying like hello world or something? this sounds alot like cold fusion because it isn't really world known, and probably only used in very 'advanced' websites like maybe the FBI? or pentagon?
