  1. @Truefusion, he means borlands turbo C++ series. @The simpleton, Turbo C++/C was only for windows and it was unique and last time it was updated the version called turbo explorer. Now if you want old version like that dos based editor then you're out of luck on linux. You can try GUI based editor on linux like anjuta, kdevelop and many other similar GUI based IDE. I can suggest you to use gcc from terminal which is like TC but not exactly. So it's good to use GUI editor instead of using such tools. One more thing is you can use winehq or crossover then it may allow you to use that editor TC++ inside ubuntu. TC++ can be run inside dosbox so you can try dosbox's linux version and then see if it works with TC++. I have just posted some possibilities for you, check if any works with you.
  2. 300$ that's cheap, so which brand you opted ? HCL ? or acer ? I think these are the only two with less prices in market. Or you assembled on your own ? That way price will come down for sure.
  3. If we have to do this in C++ then i don't think there is any official library from C++ committee. So SDL & OpenGL are two good choices. OpenGL can be used to flash the screen the clear it and flash it again. It's like a loop program. I don't have gcc installed on windows pc, let me check it after trying it on codeblocks.
  4. thanks for the reply entheone. i'll search a bit to find out what types of files they're. Maybe asking on unix discussion forums on internet will help. let me try to ask on those sites.thanks for clarification on your end.
  5. Ok i got the graphics part of C and C++. But my point is that, hannah asking for flash like animation using C or asking to link C file to flash ? I didn't get the requirements behind this correctly. What's the thing we are trying to achieve here ?
  6. Here in this thread, i found some help and support softwares listed. You can use Livezilla and hesk for the live tech support. If you can spend some money then you can go for many commercial sites which either offers paid hosting of such sevrice or let you install such on your own server. Xisto - Support uses paid kayko help support software which is paid and costs arround 150$+ for yearly license fees. You can even get chat support enabled in it. Maybe the link and kayko suggestion could help you get the right package.
  7. Username and password changes after installation can be done in seconds. What i mean is how much time you took for installation. If you're saying 5 minutes then it's unusual for me, i have never seen having such a high speed for ubuntu installation. So i asked you if what was the version and also interested in pc configuration to see at what configuration such high speed installation is possible.
  8. 2.5 minutes ? Your configuration ? And which version you tried ? I found version 8.10 taking more than 15 minutes using inside virtual machine. Not sure about real hardware time. Maybe less or the same time system will take. Who knows ?
  9. entheone, are you talking about deleteing that perftpd logs ? I mean are those log files or not. I thought of them as log files and ignored them. I never had any idea about what they're. I'll wait for someone to explain about them.
  10. Nice tutorials freelay. Didn't knew they were here in Xisto. I think i need to look for threads by searching now. Thanks for thread-bump hannah.
  11. Do you get it when i said problem solving was related to Problem solving in terms of some respective work in science, arts, or whatever domains that contribute to humans. Not like forming charity under the missionary work for preaching and increasing number of followers of religion by bribing. If this missionary propaganda is under definition of solving problem then i fail to get that point. Did i said that "evil is religion" anywhere in my post or you're making claims on your own for sake of debate? Sorry, not going to pick such baits for religious debates. You're making assumptions here by putting people in believer and non believer category when it comes to problem solving. And ad-hominem are you kidding me ? If you can take pain to visit to india i can prove my claim that what charity organization with religious intentions do here (be it any religion, you pick the charity religious organization at my place, i'll show you their intentions). They're hiding cause of fear of death. Those who are hiding and not disclosing their agnosticism or unbeliever status are into greenpeace,old-age homes and many other organization like cry etc. They do voice out their opinion when they go outside their territory. It's not easy for them to do this. Muslims kill when person in their religion turns to Christianity or agnosticism. Are you unaware of this ? Besides that before you say about this check youtube for zakir naik videos for Islamic preaching, charity, conversion and what their opinion about converting from islam to Christianity. Escapism. From the start when i posted to you,do you know who holds the burden of proof ? Do you know which part i quoted ? Check my first reply to you again. And please don't repeat this"i would expect the same standard from you" line. Did i said believer is not believer ? Where in my earlier post i said that can you point me that out. They do this in charity organization ? and preaching this stuff with problem-solving charity organizations, if so let me know about those charity organization you know personally. Do you know how many unbelievers are into charity or social work but don't show-off ? Are you counting them ? If you don't then even though you lost interest in this "exhaustive list of unbeliever charity organization list" here you can say you have ignored them in your stats. And about list that you provided for chartities are not all fall in my region and i never claimed them ALL to be in my comments, So care to read my posts again for that reference. Those who fall in my region i can show you conversion propaganda hidden inside their preaching. Do you want to know about that then come to india and i'll show you those charities. I'm done with such escapism debate if person fails to see the point i made that "problem-solving is irrespective of theological stance and there is religious preaching with intention of charity".
  12. Lol no chance. Have you seen echelon conspiracy movie recently ?
  13. Charities as problem solving approach ? Good, i thought you'll come up with list of problem solvers like Allen turning,Carl sagan or people who are solving problem in respective other domains. Don't tell me how these charities work. I'm seeing such charities working here in india, asking people to convert first in exchange of money/shelter/jobs, giving lectures every Saturday preaching against other religions as well. Very nice way of solving problems with charity you know. So i hope you get what type of list i expected from you when i meant problem-solving. Appeal to popularity+ Appeal to common practice and mix of other fallacies. How many are agnostic and non-theistic religion (jainism and other agnostics religion) hiding under the shelter of Abraham religions for example. Islamic countries don't allow people to convert in another religions or being agnostic, you're counting this in population ? NO. So such population claims without stats makes no sense. And this flaw explains everything in your argument. Now any attempt to justify makes no sense. Giving food/shelter/job in exchange of religion conversion is problem solving ? If you want to present argument in this, sure go on. I'm Done as i explained about this already. Claim from ignorance and insufficient data. Unbelievers don't provide or form charities organization in exchange for religion conversion. http://mishascupcakes.com/ is one organization formed by unbelievers and it doesn't discriminate in terms of faith like missionary charities in india while helping. It helps people no matter what they're, be it unbeliever or believer. This explains everything from my side, hope you get my point if you look at it outside view of preaching.
  14. @rvalkass, thanks for screen-shot. Which university is this by the way ? @Topic, you can find more about supercomputer here. And if you want to know about quantum computing then this PDF will help. (To know from this PDF, you need to have some background about computing). Also to know about quantum algorithm you can find information in this paper.
  15. I didn't changed that part as of yet. I have currently text that shows privileged member part. I don't think it's worth to change to something as of yet. Maybe i'll change that later. It's good that we get those text to change after some time.
  16. Filezilla, Word are desktop softwares and you have to use languages which are used to produce desktop applications. ASP/PHP are not used for desktop applications. Languages like C++,Delphi,Java and many others are used for developing those programs. There is difference is software developement like desktop apps and web apps. PHP is programming language that allows us to develop web apps. Hope this clears your confusion.
  17. This is Logical fallacy. I would like to know your sources for this that says "most problem solver people are believers". You can make up numbers if you want but i would like to see some stats you bring from valid sources. People like to throw their belief and make some statements like this by saying most problem solvers are believers. Where is the stats ? And problem solvers are categorized as believers and unbelievers ?
  18. Good to see that ICANN approves more regional domain. Now people can leave the greed of TLD domains and have some content on other sites which are regional. For domain sellers it is new opportunity of selling domains to new customers. Now comes the part of domain typing and browser analyzing those domains. I think there will be soon improvements in current domains. Soon we'll able to type it in our own language and browser will able to respond to those queries. It's just that is too much of work on translation and request/response queries. Because of this many people still don't prefer sites with non-english content.
  19. Most of us are familiar with HTML/XHTML/CSS and PHP. I'm not working in php as my job is on J2EE. So i prefer java and j2ee most of time. But for site making and cms we have php packages better than jsp or asp. PHP is readable and performance of the application based on php is very good. Opinion about this will vary from many programmers. But i found CMS made on asp/jsp are more difficult to manage and read. PHP is much easy to read and learn. You can pick up most of online tutorial and learn php in week or so. There are some good php programmers on Xisto. So if you've any php related issue then post your problem. Me or some other people on Xisto will help you depending upon the complexity of problem. So if you're yet to learn php then just go for it. Read some tutorial and start coding some pages.
  20. I just checked the link. It is working for me. I guess site was down when you last accessed it. Or perhaps linking was lost when mods edited my reply. In anycase i hope you got the link working. That article link was distributed by ubuntu team members on mailing list. So it is indeed informative article.
  21. Steven, google is not removing check option. If nor paypal or wire transfer then check is always better. It is slower but people can deal with it. I agree if you think why should publisher trust the google checkout system. But google can start from their own service and make it manadatory to some users to use the service. Then members on adwords will in turn make more other members to join google checkout service. This way they'll expand. And about your 9$, i think adsense pays only at 100$ so you can say that until they make below 50$ payment structure, it will not be possible to get money out of it.
  22. Yes i have to agree about lockerz posts and also there needs to be increase in moderation on some vague posts. Some people post on thread without knowing topic as well. I have found that if people are allowed to post un-necessary long length post (with the excuse of they're being themselves) then this will hurt Xisto and xisto. I mean many members are posting big length posts un-necessarily that needs to be controlled as well. Lockerz, freelance sites and other affiliate threads without adding affilate can be done. galexcd did post n google voice invite earlier. Similar to that way,i think there should be threads for referrals and invites.
  23. Who knows in future they'll mix google voice and google talk. That will be kill of skype in my opinion. Like this will be a way to use IM and calling to phone from withing messenger. What more we need ?
  24. Hi retry56, welcome to Xisto. Posting will look better if you spend some time here. You can read others post if that interests you. Lots of good information is placed in this forum. Do post some good topics and you'll see some good responses to your thread. It is nice way to earning mycents as well. So post some quality discussion and let's all have fun. Good luck.
  25. In case of xisto, you can upgrade anytime and for your current months left in previous plan will taken for granted before upgrading to higher plan. So it becomes cheaper as well. You can send a support ticket to Xisto - Support.com site and have your plan upgraded to higher plan. There is no need to make hypothetical situation. You can make different custom combination in current logic plan or upgrade to higher and get it approved from xisto. You can upgrade any time and you can also add additional add-ons depending upon the cash you've at Xisto - Support billing. In case of shared hosting everything looks easy and upgrades are quick. But in case of dedicated and VPS i have no clue about the up-gradation and transfer of files.
