First of all, it's "hung", "ran", and there's probably more, but oh well. /english naziI would never avoid someone because it makes both people feel bad. The fact that you accept criticism from your peers so openly is bad enough. You shouldn't judge yourself on what others think. So what if they think you're stupid (retarded means mentally slow, not idiotic)? Deal with it. I was the biggest nerd in elementary school and I learned somehow that things weren't always going to be the way I wanted them to be. So I took note of it and did my best to be true to myself without breaking any boundaries. This kid probably doesn't have too many other friends so he's relying on you to stick up for him sometimes. If you give him a chance, he could be a good person. If you ever feel like he's being annoying, let him down gently. Tell him what you don't like and what you do like to even out the blow you're dealing and then just wean him off of you. Introduce him to new people, do things for him. He's probably not capable of using his social skills so he hasn't nurtured them. The fact that you didn't apologize when you hit him with the rocks is kind of low. It's like you were waiting for him to come in front of the pole so you could peg him. And also, tsk tsk for throwing rocks at a pole! What if they richocheted ?

But there's nothing in the Bible to say that your God didn't get bored and create other life, is there? I mean, if I were a supreme being, I would get bored watching one little planet try to blow itself up. I would concentrate on different ones, like the Sims perhaps. There are countless other galaxies out there that we will never discover. We are so minute in comparison to what lies around us and all we know is that its there, somewhere. When I look into the sky, I see twinkling lights, little stars shining down on me and I wonder if on some bizarre other planet, we were shining on them too. We know the existence of Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and all the other planets near us. We also know about bacteria which are countless million/billion years old. I'm a firm believer in the Big Bang theory because it makes sense. Gravity binds tiny pieces of space particles from a supernova explosion and whirls them into a little sphere which develops its own core to heat itself. This little sphere falls into a gravitational orbit around a large star (the Sun) and a little rock called the Moon (which may have been a planet) falls into orbit with this planet. On this planet, the sun, the chemicals all begin to make this "primordial soup" as it's been referred to. From this arise all the species and from them arise the rest of the races and creatures. Who's to say that couldn't happen on other planets that may have "different" life forms...these aliens or strangers that we refer to? They're not little green men...not all of them. They could be merely bacteria and viruses, but that's still LIFE. Evidence of water on Mars has been found - little polar ice caps. Mars is not too far from the sun to recieve a bit of heating. Perhaps species were able to evolve to the conditions on that planet? That's how I picture it, even though I'm Hindu and my religion already graphs out what happened at the beginning of the world. There is no law that says you have to believe certain events of your religion and there's no reason you should call other people stupid because they think something else, cumar11. People have these crazy things called opinions that they can use to govern themselves. Therefore, I'm willing to believe that the "us" and gods (in my case) involves so much more than we know or are willing to comprehend. And people thought of aliens LONG before Hollywood. Ancient philosophers mused about it as well when they discovered new planets. Hollywood only visualized those ideas to show people what could be[/]. Hollywood, on a whole, is greedy, and I'm not a fan of predictible plots and sugary happy endings as most of today's audiences are, but think of it from a filmmaker's standpoint. This is the movie of someone who's trying to prove that life is possible on other planets. Have you ever seen Contact? Indirectly, it's about ...well...contact with other lifeforms but they never go so far as to show anyone. It's an intelligent touching film I think you'd enjoy. I for one love the X-Files. They deviate a bit from the standard crime drama shows that are on today. They show all aspects of the supernatural melding into regular life. Other than 24, it's the only real series I've watched and enjoyed. It's humorous, it's scary, and it's touching. Most of the episodes towards the middle of the show were interesting...towards the end, they were kind of sloppily put together, so I think that's what you were watching. Slow start, fast paced middle, attempting to catch up towards the end - it's like a lot of shows on today in that respect only. Anyways, I'm going to stop typing now and go to sleep. Summing up, I say: Life is possible on other planets (aliens...good grief, we're aliens to them as well. The word has gained so much more superfluous meaning than it needs) and that the X-Files episodes were pretty good. I mean, when it came out, I was only a little kid (was it 93? or 91 or something?) and I remember being seven and taking some pizza to the TV and just watching episodes and enjoying them. I was a crazy seven year old, I'll tell you that.

Draw A Pig And Get Your Personality unique personality test

I can't draw with the mouse outside of Photoshop and Fireworks. And the pointer is so tiny for me! I wish I had done better. But its name is Johosephat. Just because.<img src="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; -
I love all the sweet things he's done in his life. Like Mother Teresa or Princess Diana, he was simply a good person trying to do more. No, he didn't have tremendous wealth, but he had the power of his position and the power of the people. I love his poetry and I like to associate him with philosophers of old: Socrates, Marcus Aurelius; a new age thinker in an old world religion. True, I didn't see eye to eye on several of the points he made clear (abortion, celibacy), but I believe he did a great good to the world and I respect him for that. Could you bring it upon yourself to forgive the man that tried to kill you? Or to help eliminate Communism in countries simply by speaking and preaching to them? He was a good man in his time and I'm not too sad because, even though he's lost to us, he lived a long full life that was marked by many good things. What I don't like is that people are going to Rome because they want to see the funeral or because "this is the chance of a lifetime!". The guy deserves to be honored and clogging up the tiny Vatican with hopes for your crazy scrapbooks isn't really worth going.

I rather like yours. I can't do a damn thing with Flash so I'm envious. The color scheme is pleasant. I think you need a Gamecube section as well

You could just view source and copy the code...it's what I would do. It's really kind of like a marquee except in Javascript. Newstickers use them all the time.

There were only some Romans who killed him. Christianity was frowned upon then because it interfered with the original beliefs of the Romans. They did their slaughtering and then the Holy Roman Empire came about. A lot of the later emperors were Christian emperors - and not all the people in the Vatican descended from the original beliefs. You have a really harsh view about Catholicism, because I haven't heard anything positive about it for a while. My religion is based on reincarnation. The soul of someone that dies goes into a new body, which is usually a baby being born. The soul keeps going through this cycle until it can be accepted into an outer plane - not a heaven. Everyone goes to this outer plane when their reincarnations are complete. Everyone has a dharma to perform to get into this plane. There's no discrimination on how much you've sinned or what religion you are because you will eventually get there. When you think about the one life per soul thing, think about how many lives that soul has had already. You're apparently supposed to grow from your past lives and eventually achieve that dharma. I think a lot of things about Jesus loving others is kind of off. I mean, he died and went to heaven, I assume, and now look at the world. Why is nothing happening? Can he prevent murder? Rape? Larceny? True, there's the apocalypse coming, but that's just pruning the faithful from the not faithful. I believe it's not going to happen - I mean, we'll probably blow ourselves up with nuclear weapons before anyone up in heaven cares about what we're doing. How do you determine if he really loves you if you can't show it? I believe in love as a mystical force that somehow unconsciously pervades you, but if you love someone, you wouldn't want them to die and commit crimes...it's just a thought I had.
-
I actually think the Bible spends more time fortelling the apocalypse than mentioning heaven. We discussed this in a kind of impromptu way in Biology. All the non-Christians go first, which isn't really fair. I mean, if it wasn't for Christianity proclaiming that you had to convert people to your "superior" religion, we wouldn't have to do that. What's so bad about having people worship whatever gods they want? Just because I don't worship your God doesn't make me a heathen - yet if the Bible is really a "guideline for life", why does it say that? (I'm replying to the furious's last thing by the way)I've also broken at least 7 commandments through no real effort of my own.

Most Europeans descended from the Romans, Goths, Visigoths, and those people. So it's not only the Vatican church.
-
I have a question to ask - do Christians consider Jesus to be the manifestation of God and worship him or the God no one really knows about? And also, those all happen to be quotes between apostles and Jesus - still not very "proofy" in my opinion.

Exactly right! You may believe that you've been put on the planet for something, but you can only do so much with your life. None of us have the mentality of a messiah, no matter how humble we think we are. Most of us would die without technology or go into some weird hibernation from the lack of social contact that we would otherwise get from the internet. Would you give it all up to be revered/hated for a certain length of time or would you rather be yourself? I'm sure Jesus wanted his own life to live at certain points - that's why I like Dan Brown's version of his story. His Jesus marries and has somewhat his own views of his life...yeah, I'll get back on topic.I dislike holy wars because one man (a prophet, let's say) cannot be trusted to a certain extent. Would you kill your neighbors because your parents didn't like their religion? Would your neighbors kill you because your religions clashed? It's doubtful in the US, but in several shatter-belt regions, it happens all the time. It's a sad truth that humanity can't make up its mind for itself. With only a little influence, you can change the lives of several people that you may not even know. It's really horrifying at times. I especially like this part of your statement, Horus. Religion can be slavery and ignorance can be slavery. And don't we have rights as men and women of this earth to be free? (same with animals, I believe)Oh, and Horus. Krishna is merely an avatar of our chief god Vishnu. The trinity goes like this: Brahma - creator, Vishnu - nourisher/protector, Shiva - destroyer.

I know what the game is. It's not very good. The Sims has a lot more variety to the game. The graphics are prettier and it's more family friendly. You're not just concentrating on trying to fall in love. You can do so much more including contacting aliens. Singles may be a simulator but you can't compare the two at all. The Sims line of games have so much more to do.
-
Basically a CMS is a Content Management System. You can use it to update your site by inserting your data in it. You can update news and edit links. Pretty simple.
-
Singles doesn't hold a candle to Sims2. All you do is try to get people to have sex with each other. At least Sims 2 lets you live lifes. Plus Sims2 is prettier and more entertaining.

Cpanel & Firefox 1.0.1 Conflictions between the two
biscuitrat replied to snlildude87's topic in Web Hosting Support
Not at all. IE is a rubbish browser. Almost every popup blocker I've installed (including the handy dandy google one) is overrun in a matter of days. The loading is slow, it has little security, it's not as pretty, no tabbed browsing, and well...it's part of Microsoft. What can you say? Most of their products are buggy. -
It's not bad. It's a bit bold, but some people prefer it that way. I for one wouldn't recommend it as a webpage's background since it's extremely bright, but if you use hue and saturation, you can tone it down for a signature.

Man, what's coming to our world? If you really feel like you want to die, do you have to go out and take other people down with you? There's a lot of national stress right now. I just wish things could be a bit easier. I mean, I absolutely hate the unnecessary casualties in the war. They had their first elections in Iraq. Shouldn't we start to move out of there?
-
I especially wonder about the sacrifice part. Would you really want to throw away all your posessions to blindly follow some man who is "the son of god"? The Pope does represent the head of the Catholic church which is a pretty big branch. Not sure about all those crazy Protestent denominations. Dude, the world's not against you. If you read back a bit, people did share your opinions but not on the same things. It's true that you're not able to debate anymore. You've been repeating the same things over and over again. Powerless to continue? Not at all. Read a bit of Christian history and get back to us. I'm Hindu so I'm no expert on it, but you don't have very good comebacks. I mean, Milk wrote about the history books - you attempted to parry by saying that the Roman Catholic church had problems in it. Now, back in Europe in the late 1500's there were several mini inquisitions between Catholics and Protestents. When new leaders got to the throne, they wanted a clear majority. Was either church the better? Not in my opinion. Both churchs teamed together during the Spanish Inquisition to search for heretics or nonbelievers. Hell, the Nazi's almost exterminated the Jewish population in Europe based on what? Religion. No church is better than any other and all religions have been persecuted in their time. So the fact that Jesus went and converted a whole bunch of people to his religion is a guildline for life? What about Daniel in the lion's den? No one today (except maybe Steve Irwin and animal doctors/zoologists) would go up to a random lion and pull a thorn from its foot and expect the lion to not kill them unless it was subdued already. I don't know if this is news for you, but Catholicism is a branch of Christianity and guess what? They believe in Jesus too So let me try to decipher this. By saying Christianity is not true (hmm? It's a freaking huge religion. It has to be true.), people who do things the Bible says is wrong can get away with it? I don't believe in smiting. What kind of consequence am I going to get if I don't resurrect someone or do stuff like that? I'm supposed to follow Jesus's life if I'm a Christian, right? Furious, we're not your enemies. You just aren't fighting hard enough. So far you haven't had a single arguable topic. Personally, you're a pretty bad debater. You're out of ideas and you're not trying hard enough to defend your faith. Plus you're attacking the Catholic church as not being Christian which is kind of mean of you. You're also saying that people should live by the Bible. That might have worked for bored people without lives several hundred years ago but this is a changing world.

It Is Better To Have Canon Or Epson Printer? Hardware
biscuitrat replied to dino-m's topic in Hardware Workshop
It depends on what you're printing. For photos, I would probably use Canon but for regular printing, I would use Brother or Epson. I hae a piece of crap HP printer that strikes out everything I print, so I'm looking for a new one :/
