Opera and Gaim are your way foward. Nearly everything by windows has a better cross-platform counterpart (OpenOffice) and most deccent stuff is also cross-platform.

Graphics - Improving all the time. Skills - Yeah, they are crap. Look at melee, mage, fishing, construction. Movement - True, but for the world it is, it's enough. Quests - Theres about 115 quests, and no need to do them. Tutorial - So? Damage - A level 30 can hit 5 in RS too. Sounds - Duh. World - Yeah, it's huge, how is that a bad thing? You need to do quests to get to about a fifth of it. There's noobs and hackers, easily ignored. Weekly updates.

Do you know PHP/ASP/JSP or whatever and a DB very well? Do you have the servers, time, artists, support for all this?
