Malware Hunts Down And Deletes Mp3s
Plenoptic replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Security issues & Exploits
This is a pretty interesting bug. I wonder if it's only MP3 files it infects that it causes problems with or if it will do other things later on down the road. Like the article says it probably is teenagers looking for trouble or someone learning about computers who is trying to figure out how to make viruses so started with something relatively "small" although to some it's a big deal. Luckily I usually just listen to the radio instead of wasting my money on music so I don't have too much to worry about. At least they already have a fix for it. I sort of wonder how these things start to get passed around in the first place but I guess they'd probably put it in music that people would generally download. -
Most all programming languages will work with the exception of ASP and ASP.NET. You can use JavaScript, HTML, JSP, TOMCAT, PHP, MySQL, TCL, and CSS. I'm not really sure what other programs are acceptable as I don't use that many and I don't know if other programs require special server needs. I don't think VBScript will work with the hosts here because they use Linux servers here and not Windows. Is there a specific language you are looking to see if it will work here?

This is a really odd case. I can see how it may be contradicting the government to have the testicles on the statue but after the dog was made with them, it shouldn't be a big deal. Dogs are born with them, and any normal dog in the wild generally has them. Why not keep them? They are a normal part of the dog. A fight should certainly not be brought out of this, let alone the law they are trying to pass. If I were the artist I'd just move elsewhere and let them do what they want but I'd keep my dog. Maybe the dog will sell for a good amount of money on eBay. If it's a tribute it should be a tribute in which the dogs were meant to be, not how we want them to be. Or if they want they can give a tribute to service dogs in other ways.

This seems like it could be a potential idea, but the thing is, you can really only learn to be a parent by being one. Everyone has a different way of parenting, even I as a teenager know that because I've seen my friends have different privileges then I, some having more than me, or some having less. So really there isn't much of a way to learn exactly how to be a parent, yes books may help but you have to find your own niche per say. I do believe that there are probably a lot of people who shouldn't be parents just when you walk around a park or you hear those horrible stories on the news but there really isn't anything you can do until they screw up big and break the law.

Is He Really The Murderer? A guy is blamed for two deaths..........
Plenoptic replied to arza1's topic in General Discussion
lol You beat me to the topic. This is a really interesting story I think and at first I thought ya maybe he should be charged, but was it really his fault? What are the jobs of those who drive the helicopters? To watch the crime occur or to help spot the chase car, etc; So they were doing their job, what they were supposed to do in a situation like that. Of course the pilots job is to also watch where they are going, how they didn't notice another helicopter I don't know. Personally I don't think the guy should be charged for that because they weren't doing their job correctly. If they weren't skilled they wouldn't have taken the job in the first place but that's the risk they take. -
Sometimes I like to scan through all the channels I have whether I watch them or not because there is nothing else on. As I scroll through sometimes I see something I like and then I can watch that. Then I may gain a little more interest in the channel and go back every once in a while to see what else they have there. Sometimes you just don't know how good a channel until you watch them. This is because either you don't like the sound of the subject of what's played on the channel, or maybe you heard it was a bad channel, or maybe you just have no clue what it is so you just stay away.

How To Better Compress Files In Winrar
Plenoptic replied to soleimanian's topic in General Discussion
This is a great tutorial. I seem to have some hardware problems with my computer because it randomly restarts so I'm going to start backing up my files. This will help a lot for compressing them before moving them because I can only put them on my other computer which has enough stuff on there already. As for KGB Archiver, I don't think it really works that well unless you have a lot of text documents but I have that as well as WinZip too for all file types. -
This sounds sort of interesting. As everything does, these cars will go down in price the longer they are for sale. This goes for anything because of competition and the advancing in technology which lowers cost. So the price will eventually come down and it'll probably come even more efficient. If I were to purchase one of these I would wait a few years because in the first few years is when the most problems occur as well. The cost of the car also balances out though with the money you save on gasoline that you don't have to purchase. Even if you break even, you'll still be lessening the amount of green house gases going out into the atmosphere.

Well if you try and get rid of the other guy, you'll get in trouble with the girl and she won't go out with you either. So really you'll have to let love take it's path and wait for her to get over him. Just keep going like normal, talking to her and get to know her better, and be there for you when she needs someone. But you can't really try and get rid of the guy so you'll just have to let love take it's path and see where it takes you. In the meantime, don't just keep your hopes on her and not keep going on with life. You may find someone else you like.

Problem With My Website Image wont show no mater wat
Plenoptic replied to odomike's topic in Web Hosting Support
I would recommend to try validating your website. For CSS you can view the errors in coding here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ For HTML you can go to http://validator.w3.org/ and see if you have errors to be fixed. It's not working for me right now so you'll have to check yourself. -
No you can not sell your personal items here on Xisto. Xisto can't be held responcible for any transactions made on the forums so it's better not to have any made at all. I would recommend going to Blockbuster or EB Games and trying to sell them there and see if they will give you on an Xbox360 there. Or you can just take the money from the stuff sold and wait to get the Xbox 360. You could maybe sell them on Ebay if you have a Paypal account and will pay to ship them all in a pacakage. Or if you live in the United States, go to http://frankfurt.craigslist.de/ and find your city or a city near by and try to sell it there. That place is a little iffy but I've made money selling things there before. You can ship it or deliver if they are close enough.

You can set up your own server on your computer using XAMPP. https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html This you can use PHP and MySQL and Perl all on your computer. And yes it's free. After a bit of installing you'll be all set to do it on your own computer without an internet connection or anything. It is installable on Windows, Linux, Mac, or Solaris. Or if you saved up for hosting here at Xisto you could practice on your own small website but that's up to you.

Welcome to Xisto DarkSpike. It's pretty easy to not upset us moderators, as long as the rules are followed like rvalksass said. Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here as most do. Tell us a little more about yourself though like your interests/hobbies so we can get to know you better. Welcome also to you shahrukhmalik3.142. The boxes generally represent your rank post count wise. Although post count isn't really important, it's really the quality of the content in the posts you make.

I used to live in a nice small town but now we are growing into a city. We started out with just a few developments, mine was guaranteed not to get bigger because the areas around us were "protected" but now the "protected" areas are houses. The whole area is just constant construction and development of the roads, houses, shopping plazas, we have a mall being built, another huge shopping center with a Best Buy, Ross and other big stores that'll be a few miles down the road from the mall. There are plenty of more houses going up. We have overcrowded streets and schools already as it is but now things are going to get worse. I live north of the city of Tampa but I think it'll soon combine. We'll see.Violence occurs a lot around downtown Tampa but not really so much up where I am. There are a lot of old people drivers around here during the winter because they come down to get away from the cold. People are friendly though for the most part.

Rate The Above User's Account Name. 0/10-10/10 radius.
Plenoptic replied to Fu Still Better's topic in General Discussion
DeM0nFiRe I will give you a 8/10 I like fire and especially big fires that are crazy which is what DeM0nFiRe reminds me of. Of course fires also can be very harmful which is partly why it isn't a 10/10. It looks better with the alternating caps as well.I can't say I have ever rated another person's user name before but I guess it's pretty cool as long as people can explain themselves to make this topic not considered as spam. As for my name, I can't wait to see what it gets, I don't really know what to expect. -
Well, I've though over this topic a few times before, I still am not completely sure. If they are sent to prison for life, or for 25 years, I think they may be able to change their life after suffering, although sometimes there are some people who don't deserve to be out of jail or to live because they have been in and out of jail their whole life. In fact, some time in the past month, two men who had been in and out of jail for various reasons, some severe, had just gotten out of jail, strangled a mother to death, raped her 2 daughters, and left them in a house to burn. So should they live? Not after their career. But if they are kept out of life in prison where they can't harm anyone but themselves, then maybe it's OK, because they'll still live, but probably suffer.

Welcome Devin to Xisto. We always enjoy having new members join the community. Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here as much as I do and most others do. Imtay covered the basics on where to find the guides and what not. We ltry to help each other no matter what the subject but that's not all we do here. Sharing our knowledge and experience of life is also what we like to post about to teach others and expand our knowledge but of course we like to have fun as well. Why don't you tell us a little more about yourself? We like to get to know each other here that's part of what the Introduction section is for. Of course I don't mean like personal information but what you like to do and stuff. I'm an average 15 year old kid (turn 16 in 3 days ). I like to watch/play baseball, hang out with friends, do computer programming and attempt web design.

Question About The Activation Email When is it supposed to arrive.
Plenoptic replied to Wyroba's topic in Web Hosting Support
Emails telling you your account was approved for Xisto are usually sent immediately, whether you receive it immediately or not depends on your email provider. As long as it doesn't go to your spam/junk folder you should find it with no problem. But this is for Xisto but you have to apply first so it could take between 1 and 72 hours depending on when an administrator is on to review your application. If you are referring to Qupis hosting, these accounts are activated manually because of abuse of the system, so it could take time before these accounts are activated with the email sent out. It shouldn't be more than 72 hours but the administrators are busy sometimes and may not get to them right away. -
Well if you do decide to come back and stay, remember that once you are accepted for the hosting package, your hosting credits are reset to no more than four credits and probably will be between one and four. So even if you do decide to post around for a while and apply for hosting, and you have 200 credits, they will be reset to four or less credits. I personally would get the hosting and just not use it for important stuff until you have a bigger base of credits.

People aren't just afraid to say they are Atheist, but a lot of people don't like to state their religion because some feel other people will look down upon them for being apart of that religion, and that isn't just if they are Atheist but also if they are Christian, Jewish, etc; You are supposed to openly practice your religion, but do you see people saying a prayer before a meal when you go to any restaurant? I don't do it a lot of times, and surely not aloud when I go to a restaurant and I'm Catholic. I feel like people will think I'm weird or something so I don't do it. Why should I feel that way though? I shouldn't but the world is different these ways. In the world today people do crimes that hurt others just because. Whether it's religion, race, height, anything. I ought to practice my religion more openly though, no matter what people think. As for having no religion, there are many religions in this world, and sometimes it's hard to know what to believe in. You usually start out with the religion of your parents, either one or two if they are different. If you start to question your religion, you may look for something that may fit more into your beliefs but you don't know what it is. So people may state they have no religion because they may not know that they have one of either their own or one with a name. It's kind of hard to explain.

Online Education Tell me how you think of it
Plenoptic replied to FunkySurd's topic in General Discussion
Online education probably isn't the best thing to do when you want to take Physical Education. People do that thinking they can get out of doing all the workouts and what not but end up having to do a lot of written homework. Other than that, I think online education is a pretty good idea. If people can learn by reading and seeing pictures then it's a good way to go. You can learn anywhere where there is an internet connection and be comfortable at the same time. It's probably good for people who don't like being in a school environment but it also isn't really that great with the social life, you'll have instant messenger. Of course as soon as you finish what you need for class though, you can leave without having to wait for "class to end" and you'll have more time to do other things. Maybe it's not all that good to do full time if you are in high school but to take some online and some at an actual high school itself. -
Well, there are still a lot of people in the world who don't have a personal computer. They seem to make by just fine without one. For most people it's because they grew up without one and were used to not having one but I'm sure there are others that just have grown up without the need. As for myself? It could be sort of hard to get rid of my computer habits. I spend a lot of time in a day on my computer, usually depending on what I do after school or whatever, but my computer time may cut down some once I'm able to drive starting next week because I'll be able to go out and do more than I can normally do. It'd be hard though to do it altogether because now that they are so common, teachers require students to type up work, which ya can be done at a library but it's nice to have the resource at home. I can spend as little as 1 to 6 hours a day on the computer, it ranges though a lot.

There are a lot of really great car games out there, but I can't really pick one out of all the games of just cars. For crashing games I like Burnout 3: Takedown. It's a lot of fun to be able to destroy cars or have yourself taken out. I haven't played Burnout: Revenge yet. The only way they could make the game better is if they used real cars that you can drive in the real world but manufacturers don't want to permit that because they don't want people to see their cars getting destroyed because it'd make them look bad if one gets beat up more than others. For pure racing games, I'm going to say Gran Turismo 4. It's a lot of fun, really realistic and the graphics are great. I like working my way up to becoming a better racer and being able to race some of my favorite cars. The aspect of having to get your license is cool too because it depends on your ability to drive, not how many points you earn up to get to the next level. If I were to pick a best overall game it'd be Need For Speed Most Wanted. I just love getting into cop chases and wrecking things. It's a lot of fun but you also can race. Even better yet though, you can do both at the same time. Plus since your own car doesn't get damaged other than your own flat tires, you can race real cars.
