I don't use it because you have absolutely no control.I myself use Ad-aware, Spybot, Spywareblaster. That's all I need, Opera is a lot safer and 99% of the adware that comes with other software is found by these tools.And I also have a hosts file and a good virusscanner installed.

I've forgotten something. PhpMyAdmin is slooooooooooooow at superihost. It's just terrible . And superihost is also know as 100freewebspace, or something like that. That's where I subscribed and suddenly I had a superihost account .

You get 100Mb webspace and 3Gb bandwith, 5 subdomains, 5Mb MySQL. It's a good host, speed is good, upload and download. The response time is bit low (but higher then Xisto ) because of the google ads. It started good, there was only a small banner on top, very small, but after a while they suddenly added the google ads. The server is also limited. I couldn't get the mail function working (nor php, nor sendmail). You can't use .httaccess files (gives a 500 error). You get 50Mb free webspace and virtualy unlimited bandwith (if you have too much large files you can get a warning). The FTP upload is very slow, 5kbs is way too slow. They also have very annoying ads wich actualy block your site (you can't click on a link or something untill it's gone). Even worse, the ads cause Opera to crash . For the rest it's okay, but you don't get much control, so it's realy something for beginners. Download speed is good tough, good for a file dump Example of the blocking: Link This is an example of the ads w/o the ads (hosts file/spywareblaster). There should be 2 txtfiels and a dropdown box. I have to wait 5-10sec. before it leaves . There are also pop-ups in ff and cookies.

Do you know that you can get a free winxp from M$ if you give them the cd you got from the store (don't know the details exactly, but it's some program to get shop who deal in illegal "cheap" windows XP cd's.)

Jep, aftermarket defraggers are mostly better, espacialy if they support boot defrags. I'm now trying Diskeeper and O&O Defrag, they are both good, but I do prefer O&O because it has better defrag options.One thing I did notice (after defragging 4-5 times) was that my hdd was still fragmented like hell, even the moveable files. I found out that the "large" incomplete files from shareazaa ( ) caused this, so I moved them to another partition and my hdd is now defraged (damned, I just checked and I thing I've screwed my incomplete files , dang, 3Gb downloaded for nothing )

You should try http://park.ubcd4win.com/, it uses WindowsXP BartPE , it's like windows on a cd. It realy works well, but you'll need some time to create the CD (but it's explained very well on the site)

Well, I shure can't live without it, that's why I now have 3 computers in my room .I don't know how long I site behing my computer, it depends a bit, when it's school, I'm probably using it 4h or so (mostly between 17:00 and 22:00) and it is a problem, because I hardly study, I mean, half an hour of studying is a lot for me , but that explains my points a bit (altough, I only got ~5% less then somebody else who says she studys from 18:00 till 0:00 ).During the weekends, it's a lot more, realy something like 8h or so, same thing now.The only reason why I actualy sit behing the pc is because I have nothing else to do, realy, nothing, it sucks. I do have a hobby, but that's only on friday evening (and some performances, but nog too many lately ). The windows updates can update a lot, going from security issues to small bugs in windows. It's best to keep them up to date. It's up to you to decide whether you want SP2 or not, but I'm sticking to SP1.About the logo test, I guess you mean that the drivers weren't signed by some M$ lab ? Don't worry, this generaly isn't a problem, it's just a logo that means that those drivers won't give any problems.

About the game back-up, look in the folders of the game for folders or files called savegame. They can also be stored in my documents.

Erm, if you format, you'll lose everything on that partition. If you have one hdd, one partition, you'll lose everything, windows, data, games, etc...Yes, you'll have to reinstall windowsxp and even better, it has a built-in option to format a hddAnd what's good about it, a lot. First of all, after a while of installing and uninstalling, there are lot of files on your hdd that aren't used anymore, they use space and can slow down you computer (during boot up, hdd access, ...). You can also start whith the newest driver w/o some left overs from the previous ones.Sorry that I don't answer all your question, but I've gotta go eat now

AMD has actualy lost their fame from being very cheap. I mean, where was the time you could get a CPU for $50 ??? And it wasn't an Intel for shure.Intels prices are getting better these days, their dual cores are actualy a bit cheaper and maybe even faster then AMD Dual Cores.And (not shure) the FX57 costs +$1000, you get an Intel Extreme Edition Dual Core 3.2Ghz for that money, that are 2 cores + HT !Waste heat, is the energy that is created during a process, but isn't the energy you wanted. Eg. a light bulb creates a lot of heat, this is waste heat, because the energy you want is light, not heat.

@cyborgxxiAbout you CPU error something error:This is probably because the CMOS data was cleared (maybe a bad battery) or something had changed the CPU settings that caused troubles on boot so it reset everthing. That's why your system clock was messed up, if the CMOS get cleared/reset, it will change time to 0:00 and date probably to when it was created.About the hanging of P4's, it could happen or seem like they hang, maybe I was a little bit wrong .And I wouldn't want to disable that feature, because I rather have a slow CPU then a dead CPU (don't forget, even today CPU's die because they run too hot).@dhanesh: you're sick man. I'm not realy shure about this one, but it might be that you Duron is one with the new lock. Problem is, you can't unlock it the easy way. You'll have to mod it to a mobile cpu so you can change multi's on the fly. This only works on a few chipsets (not the Nforce chipset, but it works on the KT400's ).Now, the pencil trick won't work either, you'll need to do it with silver conductive paint (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) <- check out vid2 on how you should do it.

Jep, always remain yourself. Honestly, I'd like to improve my social life, but no way I'm thinking about changing myself, I just can't do that. Self made, realy, it's much better when you make/configure it yourself. You can get what you want, not more, not less (and no expensive upgrades).Plus, if you assembled it yourself, you know your pc, it's much better when you know your hardware if an error occures.

I've onced used BeOS, when I was still a n00b. It didn't realy work very well because it didn't supported my graka (S3 I guess) so it ran in graycolors , and it was rather slow (486 ).Think I'm going to try some other alternative OSes soon
