people, read the first post pls. He's asking wich player is best for embedding in a website, he's not asking for a standalone player. I'd try embedding your videos in the flv format. You could use video hosting services like youtube, dailymotion, ... or you host them yourself and serve them using the JW FLV Player ( https://www.jwplayer.com/ ). For converting video's into an avi format (DivX, XviD, Indeo, ...) I'd suggest you'd use VirtualDub. To convert your videos in other formats you could use Super ( http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html ). It can convert to flash video, quicktime, real, wmv, avi and it even supports the PSP and iPod profiles. Super doesn't give you many options, but it works tremendously well. If you want to use the windows media video format, you could try Windows Movie Maker.

there's realy something wrong. After my vacations, my hosting was suspended because I had a negative credit. I immediatly started posting to get credits and three days later my account is still suspended. This realy s*cks because that means I cannot put my pictures online .

Good Program To Use
wutske replied to TheOneAndOnly1405241546's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
every image editing program is fine for creating signatures, even paint can do the job. It's just op to you how creative you can be with the tools you get . Of course, Photoshop or The GIMP offer you the most tools, but that doesn't mean it is better for making signatures than Photofiltre (or some other program) can. -
I realy love their latest album, minutes to midnight, it's definately better than their previous albums

These are some fine looking sigs . They are a bit on the small side imho, but everbody has its own preference

How Many Think You Get To Few Credits Here? Just post it
wutske replied to Eclipse1405241548's topic in General Discussion
I have no problem with the amount of credits I get per post. It's not like I realy post a lot of (long) messages over here, but even then I can easily keep my credits at about 8 credits (as long as I don't go on vacation ). You just have to think like this 'what if we'd increade the amount of credits per post, what would happen then ?'. The answer to this question is fairly simple, there will be less topics and replies, topics suddenly die because there's no more input, people can't reply anymore, ... It's all about keeping things alive . -
Being a bit paranoia when using the internet is a good thing, but don't try to overdo it . I hardly doubt that the makers of LogMeIn.com are going to connect to your computer to access your data. The company was founded in 2003 in since then they haven't abused the possibility (if this even is possible, because passwords are probably encrypted before they are saved into the database).

How To Suspend / Resume Execution Of A Windows Application
wutske replied to dserban's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Processexplorer is a lot more powerfull than the default windows taskmangere. It gives so much more information about an application and the performance graphics per application are usefull to 'see' in the past (if windows stalled, you can check the performance graph to find out if some application suddenly used a lot of cpu/memory).Ps. let's not forget this is not a M$ application -
Shuffle = being limited. No information, no changing of settings on the go, no eq and no non-shuffle option ... If I hear a song I like, it doesn't mean I know the title so I want to check which song it is, this is even more important when the shuffle option is enabled so knowing the artist can be helpfull too. And as Jeigh has said, jumping from one album to another isn't always a good idea if you listen to a lot of different genres.

in order for hibernation to work, you need as much free space on your hard disk as the size of the RAM in the computer. So if you have 2Gb of RAM, you'll need 2Gb of free space on the hard drive. If there's enough space, windows will create a file named hiberfil.sys in the root of your system drive (so it's usualy c:\hiberfil.sys , it's a hidden system file). If the file already exists, but hibernation isn't enabled then you should try removing it in safe mode.

I have it installed for a month or so, but it's just too fast for me , I'd wish it was as fast as UT or maybe Quake. Another great, free fps is Assaultcube ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) . The graphics look quite neat for a 19Mb download and the AI isn't that bad at all

it's a nice piece of technology, but it's imho not that spectacular. It's just a pocketpc running some light MacOS in combination with a brand new touchscreen technology. I know that I'm not going to buy one, it's too expensive and I don't make that many phone calls so the contract is useless to me.

I realy do spend too much time online whilst doing absolutely nothing . It's realy getting frustrating, I'd like to do a lot of things, but I just can't seem to find the energy and motivation to do these things ... thus I sit behind my computer, opening the same sites a few time per hour.

ur welcome .It's probably something 'windows'-like . Windows gives files 2 sizes, the real-size and some kind of virtual size. This 'virtual size' (probably has some other term to define it) can be a lot larger eg. for allocating file size. Some download managers tend to use this function.

Corrupted Hard Drive: How Can I Get Files Back?
wutske replied to jimmy89's topic in Hardware Workshop
it looks to me like your partitiontable is damagegd. Look for some kind of partition recovery tool (there are a bunch of free tools, but I've never had such a problem so I don't know which one is best, but I'm sure other people around here can help you with that).Another possible solution is to repartition your drive like it was before, tough this probably won't work without formatting (something you realy don't want to do ) -
This works ... until you switch to Vista , I have absolutely no stereomix, mono out, or something similar I can use the record the output.

Increase Internet Speed For Win Xp Home
wutske replied to tennorhornist's topic in Computer Networks
@toby: if you only get 20% of the bandwith offered, then you should go complain ... you might actualy sue them because they won't give what you've paid for. The available bandwith is also dependant on how far you live from a connection, the further you live, the lower the signal quality and the worse the bandwith is. -
I used to use google, but lately it's just a bit too much google for my likings, google, gmail, picasa, calendar, earth ...So I switched to Yahoo! , it works great and find the most things I'm looking for and if it doesn't (which doesn't happen that often) I'll switch to google.I've also tried Live Search, but found it didn't work with the Opera History Navigation Mode set to 3 (=allways use cache).

What do you mean with 'blocking file attachments' ? The only thing that can have a file attachement is an e-mail.

best way to test is getting speedfan and some kind of cpu test program (like Prime95, S&M, OCCT, CPU-burn, ...). Speedfans allows you to monitor the temperatures and voltages (it can also log these values to a file, which I suggest you to do so you can see the last value recorded). Then start the cpu test program, if the computer immediatly powers down, then it's a faulty psu, if not you should keep an eye on the temperatures and voltages.

the IP adres that the RealVNC icons shows you is the IP adres from your computer's NIC. The IP adres on the RealVNC test page is the one that is given to your router. These two adresses will always be different. If you make a connection, do you add the port on which the VNC Server is listening or not (like 192.168.1.2:5900) ? If you connect from inside the network, you should give the (private) IP adres (= the one that belongs to your computer's NIC), if not (so if you want to connect over the internet), then you should give the IP adres that is given to your router.//edit: also make sure there's no firewall blocking the VNC server

Increase Internet Speed For Win Xp Home
wutske replied to tennorhornist's topic in Computer Networks
no bits = no windows updates.for those who are dissapointed by the tweaks, continue doing so because there's no such thing as an effective tweak for speeding internet access. -
FrontPage Vs. Dreamweaver
wutske replied to crs_cwiz1405241504's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
One thing's for sure, I'll never use Frontpage for as long as I live. It's the most crappy website designing software and it (as usual) doesn't even bother about using correct HTML code. The website of my previous school is made in frontpage and believe me ... it only works in IE (but then again, the guy who makes the website is an idiot, referring to 'my documents' in hyperlinks, using the target="_blank" argument for most links ...).This doesn't mean I like Dreamweaver, it's good software, but I prefer writing the HTML code myself (in Notepad++), gives me more controll and in case of an error I at least know what's is wrong . -
Avast receives dialy updates too (sometimes even twice a day ! )
