  1. Well obviously if someone goes through that much trouble to create and maintain two accounts and does so in a way that he can't be caught...then he wouldn't be caught. If we are notified however both accounts would be suspended. You CAN have subdomains and therefor multiple websites on your hosting account, but the limits for storage and bandwidth still remain the same.
  2. So you are saying if someone is nice and supportive and gives alot to a forum, they can in turn break a rule whenever they want, as long as its not a regular occurance? Frankly I find it hard to understand that logic. He broke a rule, whether blatently or discretely, and if he got a warning to remove something from his sig he should have done so. Thats WHY they gave a warning (correction, warnings), do be kind enough and considerate enough to give him the chance to do something insanely simple like change his sig and stop breaking the rule.
  3. Personally I've never really liked rep style setups... I mean I use them if they are prevalent on a site but otherwise they just don't do it for me. I post quality posts because I want to contribute, not because I'll receive praise from peole for it. I simply enjoy the interactions and the ability to help or be helped... But thats just my opinion
  4. Another funny thought to note, Micorsoft is already thinking up ways to help us be able to run the new OS since so many comps won't be able to handle it hardware wise haha. They should just package it with upgrades for our pcs haha hrm :SBut yea they delayed it until next year and it probably won't be out at the current release date since recent reviews have said the OS is falling apart at the seams. Unless the recoding they are doing is majorly impressive I'm picturing a 2008 release stupid vista
  5. Regardless of whether or not this guy is the "most famous phpbb mod writer" or whatnot, isn't it up to any forum for those in control to deem what is or is not appropriate on their forum? I don't know, personally I dont see this as a big deal as if I was at a forum and they didn't want anything against anyone in my sig... I'd just not put anything against anyone in my sig. I also don't see how that part has anything to do with him supporting his mods...I mean personally I can't imagine WHY they would care about something so benign, but since they obviously do care I think it's well within their rights. If you create something that other people choose to use, it's within you're rights to control them as you see fit, and within their rights to leave if they disagree... this all just seems like a difference of opinion... not really sure what the point of you posting it is
  6. I remember back in high school using bablefish for my french projects I wish we would have had actual GOOD translation websites back then hahaha. Stupid babelfish...I'll have to keep this one in mind next time I'm chatting with my friends from different countries. Usually they just fight through using English but it'll be nice to throw some of their native tongue at them once in awhile (assuming it works well) heh.
  7. I would agree on the most part. I haven't tried all of their tools as I simply miss some haha. I also haven't tried alot of the plugins for the various services but I'm sure I will eventually. All in all though I agree that google is on the right track and handles the things they tackle well. Not everything they offer will appeal to all users, but for the most part everyone can find something from google that they like, and that google does better then the competition.
  8. Yea, plus just slapping 3D at the end of a distro name wouldn't be that amazing... and if you just mean a 3D interface then I'm pretty sure that's been done already. I've seen fully 3D ones that go in some weird directions as well as ones that basically just make the normal gnome/kde have 3d effects and true transparencies and whatnot.I agree with m^e, drop a link
  9. Yea I can't see why they would limit the minimum res, but windows does as mentioned.I've got to say though, why would you ever...EVER buy a NEW video card with the intention of only running it at 800x600 at the highest resolution? I can't imagine spending money on a new videocard and limiting it that much haha. Just buy a cheap used monitor for like $50 thats bigger and has a good max resolution
  10. DO I think it's out of hand in some areas/professions? Yes. Do I think some random people take it WAY out of hand? Yes. Do I think it is out of hand overall? Not yet, but it could be eventually.Personally I don't get offended...or at all. I mean unless someone attacks me personally I usually don't care even if people make a politcally incorrect remark about a race I decend from or whatever. Now, being racist is one thing, but using a non-derrogatory statement for a race that was acceptable, and then randomly deemed unacceptable, seems pointless to me (I mean terms acceptable by everyone, but ones certain people chose to use heh).Feminists that want things renamed so that the word 'man' isn't in them? Yea, they take it way too seriously. Basically I just think if it's truly offensive, yea, keep it out of your life. But if it's not meant ot be offensive and would have to be used in a very intentional manner to be misconstrued as offensive, then I say let it be.As far as teachers are concerned I think they do take it too far. When they have to completely reorganize a planned lesson in order to make sure they don't put out someone because of the way something is phrased I think it just wastes time and effort. The world isn't a perfect place... people need to be able to take someone saying something they don't 100% agree with
  11. Windows vista will never actually be released so no need to worry :|
  12. This could be really old, who knows, but I just saw it recently and figured I'd share since I've watched it numerous times and laugh each and every time haha The Evolution of Dance Basically it's a guy dancing for 6 minutes to a mix of music from throughout the ages and it is quite hilarious. I am too young to remember most of the dances first hand but I was 'lucky' enough to experience some of them and have seen almost all of them in one form or another before. Take a glance if you have a few minutes to spare haha.
  13. Disk Boot failure could imply the problem lies elsewhere. As mentioned make sure you didn't bump anything out of place when opening it up (make sure the HD's are properly plugged in, to be precise) and made sure everything else is properly plugged in.
  14. sounds like over heating to me. I know I've had lots of issues that follow that pattern, often its fine but then the image goes funky and then goes blank or reboots. Try running it with the case open/off and see if that helps or get some temp monitoring stuff.
  15. I should get the super mod title, cause I'm just that damned super. But yea the second set are pretty good, the first set are too complicated as mentioned.
  16. I don't have a PSP, but I was under the impression that you could just reflash your firmware with a lower version if you have one that is too updated for the homebrew to work? If not, they should really figure out how to do that haha
  17. Yea, often 10 posts = 10 credits for people new to the boards, but that is simply a coincidence because they seem to make posts of a perfect length get get about one credit per post. I remember when I came here though I only made about 5 posts before I had my 10 credits because I made a few huge posts.
  18. Yea I can't see any reason for doing this other then saying that yes, I did it, weee. But from a functional standpoint it seems irrelevant, you lose all the positive aspects of having multiple partitions and don't gain anything except...well...you don't gain anything. Also the windows before xp were so annoyingly unstable with the near constant rebooting and whatnot I'd have no reason to keep windows on my computer alongside linux if my ONLY windows option was pre-xp
  19. If you look up a mysql tutorial somewhere, you would quickly see the breadth of capabilities of the database system. It's really quite good especially being open source (free). I know I've been using it alot at work lately and we are starting to set up a huge database with it. Databases are pretty cool so I'd reccomend checking out more info on it.
  20. If the gov was willing to pirate windows to a point where M$ made this deal with them, I'm sure they weren't worried about whether or not software would cost them money hehe
  21. Step 1- Copy DustStep 2- Add annoying gimmickStep 3 - Repeat:D:PActually I as well would suggest googling on this topic, there are people who have dedicated a lot of time and effort to this topic, I'm sure you can find huge websites devoted to the topic.
  22. Yea I love having a form fitted mouse. I mean, generic shaped ones are fine, but the ones that are ergonomic so your hand almost wraps around them more then sits on them makes it more comfortable for long sessions. I know my mouse here at work makes my hand sore eventually... I should bring my mouse from home with me to work everyday haha.
  23. I.Q. Tests annoy the hell out of me just in concept. I mean, how can a test ever actually accurately guage overall intelligence? It makes no sense to me personally. They can gain ideas as to who is more intelligent in various aspects, but the test to accurately depict overall I.Q. would be ginormous.
  24. I too use Drupal to run my site, while it's currently just a blog on crack it still has the ability to become much more then a blog at a moments notice. Plus I do have various static pages and the modules are a nice touch. Having a theme run consistently accross everything including the forums is another nice touch like mentioned.I'll agree that there aren't as many themes as I'd like to see which was kinda crappy but it got me to find one that was somewhat similar to what I had in mind and then modify the hell out of it to make it work. In the end I was very pleased with the results and haven't looked back since. I used Mambo and phpNuke but stuck with Drupal. Worth checking out.
