  1. Your best shot would be to go to some tutorials site, like pixel2life.comthey have many tutorials there, specially for graphic applications...
  2. I collect:wallpapers (only good ones)design concepts (like in pdf documents)all stuff related to graphic design: fonts, pictures, icons, logos, and similar...and some other things related to computes.. but these are main..
  3. It's stupid that whole "Vista" idea. I mean, cmmon, I will need at least 1,5GB ram to run it properly, as operating systems grows it just eats up more RAM more HDD space, and more everything... that's just stupid for me.. I mean where it's gonna stop? And the reason this is stupid is because you don't get anything, than just a "fancy" system with nice icons. where is functionality? well, I don't know..
  4. don't worry too much, just install it. If it won't work, then you probably have pirated version of ms win Xp. and then go buy a legal one in store, and everything will work fine..
  5. Im using GeeForce series but it's always good to know what other's have in their pockets
  6. Well, look under the mouse! Do you see red laser beams? No, well, Mose not functional then. And if keyboard wont work also, I would say it's a corrupted OS, because, there is very little chance for keyboard and mouse to failure, specially on MAC where quality is much higher that on PC.
  7. You will have large problems with opening corel documents in other software... Anyway if you need it badly, you could send out the corel file to me, and I could convert it in any application format you need.
  8. Yep, I already tried this, and it works quite well...You start your favorite 3D application, and engage Acrobat 3d, load your 3d scene into 3d application you use, (eq. 3D studio, Autocad, Cinema 4d, Maya, Lightwave, or any other) and just press "Print Screen" on your keyboard, and on some amazing way Adobe 3d engine captures content from your 3d application, probably via OPEN GL or DirectX and puts it in PDF document. Also you can do this via standard method, like, exporting in some common 3d format, and just importing into Acrobat. Awesome stuff really!
  9. This is kind of a site, that is filled up with advertisments, and popups, so that I can't really see where is information I would want to view and read. Bad. Really bad, It just drives you in, and then you leave the site in few seconds...
  10. hey! this is very nice little tutorial, and userbars are cool too. Good work...
  11. nice... it's always an good practice for you, to do that kind of stuff...
  12. oh, well, Im not afraid of viruses. In 5 years that Im constantly online, if I have antivirus on or off; I didn't never got any virus attached to my system. Ok, I just got that coolwebsearch adware, but nothing that that. If you have some antivirus on (avast is pretty good, AVG also) you have no worrys...
  13. Well, they probably use Ubuntu, with slight modifications, to suit ther own needs. I think its a good distro, altough I prefer Fedora Core. But anything is better than M$ and windows.
  14. hi! this is just a quick tip, maybe to try with final recover software, I had some luck recently with this software, and you can evaluate for some time, so I think it should be enough just to restore your data. Anyway, you'll see, when you will use recovery software, a % of recover possible, so if it's anything less than 100% sucessful recovery, you will probably get distorted and corrupted data, that wont work right. If we talk about images, you will probably be able to open them, but some pixels or even some parts of an image will be corrupted... anything else from word documents to any other file format will be probably unusable. But give it a try. It's better than nothing. I wish you all the luck with recovery p.s. And one more tip! If you do recovery of data, select another phsycal drive, where you want your recovered data saved, if you recover on a same drive you will corrupt your data, and probably loose any and every chance of sucessful recover.
  15. maybe would be the best to PM opaque, or submit a ticket to helpdesk on this issue...
  16. Ok, I just discovered some new stuff about iPod. It's not related to iPod Linux but to iPod itself. Apparently company named Bellevue-based eMagin Corp, which primary bussiness is to manufacture display products for military and industrial use, made recently small display for iPod photo models - which enables you to put it in front of your eyes, very close, and you get a full screen large cinema display, because it covers your eye-view-field. anyway, it's called i eyeBud - and you can read more about it here.
  17. Well, I don't think they will leave these large scale ads there, when it goes public. But anyway, I'll stick to Gmail too, becasue of the exact same reasons.. just that, as my profesion is Graphic Design, sometimes an overall visual look drag me away from real functionality...
  18. Google is an industry standard for performing an web search. It's like they try to compete with Adobe. You may make an alternative to for eq. Phtoshop, but you can't force people, and real users to just switch to some new software just because you claim it's a better one. To force people, so they can start using something new, you must make something revolutionary, something really new, not seen ever...etc.Anyway, in the case of Google as major search engine, when I would compete to them, probably I'll try to make something that they don't have.... And you can now emagine just how hard that must be...
  19. And check this out: I heard somewhere that Microsoft is planning to make an online version of Office, so people always can access their documents in word, excel, powepoint, and always accessible outlook. So, that would be an awesome move, but it's just a hint that I heard somewhere. We'll see what happens next. Btw. I saw at friend (who got an beta tester status) an new version of microsoft's Hotmail - and all I can say it just beats Gmail by it's look. Anyway, I think microsoft got some stuff to show off, and I can't wait to see what will happen....
  20. yeah they are way too expencive, but anyway, I get my ipod on some mac conference, as a prize. I was sooo happy then! anyway, If you get enough money to buy It you will never regret, because it's not just an mp3 player, it's pretty more than just that. There is so much usage for it. At my place an basic ipod is 265$ and I think it's a mini model.
  21. Hi kris, and welcome to astahsot forums!people here are nice, and you will see that you may find anything and everything here. if you got stuck with something don't hesitate to ask...
  22. well, as the people from ipodlinux.org claim - they didn't "brick" a single ipod. By "bricking" I mean that, all ipods ever used with linux was working ok, an restored later to apple original software, and anyway if you install linux on ipod, you still have your original apple software there, so when you are turning on your ipod you can choose which system you want to boot: linux or ipod's original... oh, and yes you can play DOOM!
  23. oh, well, you are using WRONG link to your page, I don't know who tell you this, but link to your page is not astaplace, it's this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/.Xisto.com/ so, when you visit this corrected link you will see a default page for every account. Now, when you log in with your account, via FTP, you should see some folders list, so navigate with your FTP client to folder called public_html and start uploading your files there. if you dont know how to do that, look at this picture: and finally you must CHMOD your files, if you have no idea what CHMOD is, it stands for "change mode" command, and that command is used to change perrmision to access to files on your account. So basicly all you need to do is to make your files under "public_html" folder publicly accessible. And you do that by selecting all the files under "public_html" and selecting a mode 644 or like this: I hope you understand all this...
