  1. lol, but in Toronto, if you abuse them, usually you get your driving points deduced 3 or 5 points (I forget since I can't drive; not 16 yet), plus they fine you.xboxrulz
  2. don't buy a Linksys router, I got one that was made by Linksys and it got down like a fly after 2-3 years of use. Now I have a Netgear router.xboxrulz
  3. For those who don't live in Toronto, we have a system called High Occupancy Vehicle Lane (HOV Lane). The following is the definition provided by Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) "HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes are designed to help move more people through congested areas. HOV lanes offer users a faster, more reliable commute, while also easing congestion in regular lanes - by moving more people in fewer vehicles. HOV lanes on Highway 403 and 404 are the inside (leftmost) lane and are identified by signs and diamond symbols on the pavement. The HOV lane is separated from the other general traffic lanes by a striped buffer zone. Vehicles carrying at least two people may enter and exit the HOV lane only at designated points, clearly identifiable by wide and closely spaced white broken lines and diamond symbol pavement markings." More info about the HOV Lanes: Ministry of Transport Ontario, HOV Lanes The article: Source: Yahoo! Canada News Never thought people would go to this extent to go on the HOV lanes. I am quite surprised. xboxrulz
  4. seems that I worth more than the average for Canada according to the survey$1,539,823.95 ($1,319,020 USD) is my worth.xboxrulz
  5. guys, you don't have to worry about the "we're gonna die" theory. As per the nuclear bomb, it is not efficient since not all asteroids have a ROCKY/METALLIC core, therefore the nuclear will do crap. The best efficient way there is in current technology is to redirect solar beam in a high voltage that would redirect asteroids out of Earth's course.xboxrulz
  6. /bin/df isn't having any access to your system resources, that's why it's bouncing back things it thinks it is not there.Try editing your chmods.xboxrulz
  7. that is true, I got mine, and I know what to do w/ it :lol:xboxrulz
  8. Vash, it isn't quite true what you say about Linux. Linux can still play some games. Some include Quake 4, Unreal Tournament (series), America's Army and Medal of Honour. If you buy the Cedega subscription, you can play Counter-Strike, NFS:Most Wanted, Starcraft, C&C Renegade, Guild Wars, NFSU2 (not to the point like it is in Windows) and other games too. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  9. I too find iPods are too overrated too. I find it's just YaMP (Yet another Media Player).I used to have a red MP3 player costed me around CAD $100 for 512 MB; now I use the new Motorola Rokr as my MP3/Phone.xboxrulz
  10. well, I don't know if this is a good thing, but M$ declared many times that they'll not use HD-DVD for games. It's simply for movies and any of your media uses. They'll use the traditional 9GB DVD for storage, but still, I think it's enough.xboxrulz
  11. that's not striking. Vista's delays:20032004200520062007This is ridiculous, good thing, I don't really use Windows or else it'll take me forever to get the latest technology :oxboxrulz
  12. now, when did I say 9GB Blu-Ray discs? I know the capacity is 25-40GB right now. I was talking about DVDs.ok, I give you kudos for saying a series of movies, but right now I'm talking about gaming as the original poster posted up something about the PS3. There IS NO need to use the Blu-Ray. It is absolutely useless in the gaming industry at the moment. I don't say it will never, but it will never in this decade since who really needs 40GB for ONE single game.On the other hand, M$ is releasing a HD-DVD external drive for the 360, now that's smart because it doesn't force you to spend more money on games since manufacturing Blu-Ray discs are highly expensive due to it's new technology. HD-DVD on the other hand is less expensive, got similar storage capacity and the player is compatible with normal DVDs versus the Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray player manufacturers don't have to make the Blu-Ray players compatible with normal DVDs, so you may need two different players. One to read DVD and one to read Blu-Ray. Especially when it comes to your computer, it's a hassle. So, think it over.I support the HD-DVD over the Blu-Ray mainly on the compatibility issue that the Blu-Ray has.@Jeigh: ok, this generation is the 360/PS3 generation, let's compare, the 360's Call of Duty 2 game only takes up about 5 -8 GB disc space (rough estimate), still will not exceed the 9GB dual layer disc it uses. This is "next-generation" already on the console market.xboxrulz
  13. funny how there are such titles but the problem is that does the market really need Blu-Ray DVDs?HALO2 uses only 3 - 5 GB out of 9 GB. Halo 2 has better graphics and programming than most PS2 games, so is it REALLY needed?xboxrulz
  14. ya, but they plan to ditch XP support in December 2006. Isn't that called force upgrade??xboxrulz
  15. well, still would you be able to convince everyone just to buy a new computer just for Windows Vista? Many places I've seen in Europe and parts of North America still runs on mostly Windows 2000 on Pentium III or less. I've even seen Windows 95 still in use. ME too.I say that M$ is insane for releasing this powerhog, XP was hogging enough already.xboxrulz
  16. well, I use VNC instead. It works beautifully, I got my computer to work with it, easier than ssh IMO.I don't know if it's really less secure than SSH but I know it works.xboxrulz
  17. I don't know the DEBIAN X configurator, but you can do it manually by editing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf filexboxrulz
  18. Na, Xandros is all thumbs down I say. It doesn't give you the oomph power. Xandros isn't recommended if you run powerful programs because it isn't optimized for heavy programs and it doesn't let you to actually learn your system and further improve your skills.xboxrulz
  19. there's a new one, and this time it's no longer orange :oxboxrulz
  20. mind you, XGL isn't comming, it's out (not stable, but it works)xboxrulz
  21. you might even thank yourself for not living in Ontario since from June 1st this year, you can't smoke in any public building (incl. bars, casinos, restaurants) and taxes for smokes rises too.For me, that's good news as I'm a non-smokerxboxrulz

  23. If your ISP offers you an email address (plus more than 100 MB) stick with them, else, use Google's GMAIL service. It's pretty good. It's fast too!xboxrulz
  24. This is nice for the teenage Source: Yahoo! News Canada I think that it was generous of that stranger to give her $1000 USD in tip. Your comments? xboxrulz
