  1. I never knew that BF2 can run on GeForce 4 cards, cause it's basic minimum requirements require you to have a card that is GeForce FX+xboxrulz
  2. no kidding, piracy has been spreading for years. It isn't new.xboxrulz
  3. Hraefn, there were some bugs that were just found right after the release, that was why SP1 came out so close from the launch date. Although we can say that we have technology now that we don't 5 years ago is true in some ways but doesn't mean that back then we didn't know how to plug those holes.xboxrulz
  4. regarding to Chesso's comment on Linux needing to compile everything is definitely NOT true. Linux is fairly easy. Especially software installation. There are tools that lets you search repositories for the program you want and install the packages for you and deal the dependecy without ever punching in any extra command. It's almost a one command download/install. Of course there are GUI frontends for these tools, yet I prefer not to use them as I find them slowing down what I'm doing. You don't get that on Windows now do you (regarding the tools I'm talking about)? These tools include: smart (APT/YUM), apt-get (DEB/RPM), yum (RPM) and emerge (this one requires compilation, Gentoo Linux).Frontends depends, but they include: Adept and YumEx.Linux is also not hard to configure, depending on your distribution. For example, I find SuSE Linux very easy to use. It's powerful, works like traditional Linux and it's easy for newcomers. Especially with their YaST (Yet another Setup Tool) configurator. Unlike Ubuntu/Linspire how it makes it dummy proof and lessens the power of Linux (I don't like their security ideas). Gentoo is just if you really want to learn Linux inside out and don't mind compiling software.xboxrulz
  5. Chesso, if you choose to customize your partition table while installing your preferred Linux distribution, then you can keep everything on one partition. Although, some say it's not recommended, but I like it in an all in one package since I already have a drive dedicated to data.xboxrulz
  6. actually Dreamweaver MX does. At least version on WINE 0.9.6. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ More info here: xboxrulz
  7. As Bill Gates once said "In order to survive, you need people to need you, or else you'll die" (not exact quote). So, I think Google might take over the world but not as evil as Micro$oft.xboxrulz
  8. wow, that's amazing, I only get 3MBPS @ my place, but the fastest is 5-6 MBPS in Canada offered for residential. My new download speed since my ISP recently upgraded is now: 500kbps-600kbps off servers in Canada/USA. Back then, it was 300 KBPS on the same servers. Sometimes, you gotta love cable internet.xboxrulz
  9. don't we all know that? M$ already cutted Windows 2000 support 2 years ago. I thought they already cut Win98/ME...xboxrulz
  10. that's way too many partitions imo. For me this is how I split my "drives" or in UNIX speak "partitions". DISC 1 - 120 GB Maxtor 7200RPM w/ 8MB cache 71.0 GB - Linux partition 2.4 GB - swap partition 40 GB - Windows DISC 2 - 80 GB WDD 7200 RPM w/ 8MB cache 73.9 GB - Data Disc/Backup It does almost the same thing as your setup, but I think the less partitions = cleaner hard drive. xboxrulz
  11. just delete the directory .wine and let WINE recreate the directory. Then, reinstall your applications.xboxrulz
  12. the minimum requirements still requires you to have at least 512 MB RAM (= my computer). I can get all those cool features on Linux without extra cost.xboxrulz
  13. M$'s equivalent of beta is in the real world ALPHA code and release to us is BETA. So really, you're running alpha code. They're alpha code is pseudocode by the way and their pseudocode is ideas in programmer's head.I hope you catch my drift.xboxrulz
  14. truely said moonwitch, but do you still use Windows or have you completely moved away from Windows to Linux or other free operating systems?xboxrulz
  15. ok, what do you mean by acting funny, can you post what WINE spits out?xboxrulz
  16. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is the website name. It's being developed by a different team and not the original Mercuryboard team. Quicksilver Forums Wikipedia page xboxrulz
  17. Krish can you stop spamming with so many wmp11's. About that, WMP11 will be released when Windows Vista is out.xboxrulz
  18. I have had many problems from Fedora Core, that's why I never recommend it to anyone. There's too much experimental codes in Fedora Core that makes it unstable.xboxrulz
  19. All CD burning software have an MD5Checksum checker. I don't recommend you running Release Candidates (RC). As they are quite unstable. Run SuSE Linux 10.0, it is stable and I don't think you need to run the server edition for your desktop.xboxrulz
  20. Overdoing anything is not good for you. Even overeating = obesity, overprotection = loss of customer = Windows is now screwed for life.xboxrulz
  21. According to one of the lead developers of Quicksilver Forums, he ran a test and found that QSF is faster than phpBB: Source: Quicksilver Forums is 15% faster than phpBB xboxrulz
  22. they've been talking about it for a long time, but I never knew they actually did it.xboxrulz
  23. well, Slackware users are now mainly comprised of old skool users. They like the old ways. The 2 listed above have been fixed by @ least SuSE Linux since version 8.xboxrulz
  24. Funny thing is that people already circumvent the WGA system, it's easy now to get the Aero feature.xboxrulz
  25. Hey all! I'm one of the contributor of Quicksilver Forums, which is an off-shoot of Mercuryboard as development has been halted until further notice. Anyways, Quicksilver Forums has come a long way from version 1.1.5 of Mercuryboard. The current release is 1.2 and it's GREAT! Our website: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I maintain the official resource site here: /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi Check us out! I'll post updates when new releases are out here!
