  4. i added two FAT partitions onto my fstab to start up automatically... running Linux Mint 11... now the two partitions are running fine it's just that i don't have permission to write/alter anything on the two drives i'm not quite familiar with Linux permissions here's a ls -l output of the two partitions/drives manu@manu-U-100 ~/Others $ ls -ldrwxr-xr-x 5 root root 32768 1970-01-01 12:00 Dat1drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 32768 1970-01-01 12:00 Dat2
  5. cheers yordan, very handy option... will certainly use it alot
  6. i have fiddled around for a bit with Dreamweaver sometime ago and it's a marvelous tool... as far as i can recall it includes an ftp extension (or built in)...

  10. so these guys a gamers, and they try and score chicks? that's awesome lol... it takes some guts to shoot lines like that at chicks, especially them good looking ones on the vid lmao
  11. i find alot of people have this setup, even myself runs Windows XP and Linux Ubuntu on my PC, i even had Windows XP and Linux Mint dual boot on my netbook... now have downed my netbook to just one OS - Linux Mint due to space issues i'm sure alot of geeky mac/apple pc owners have dual book with Windows or Linux... it's just handy having two OSs
  12. where abouts do you view this top 20 posters? cheers
  13. an old P4 3.2GHz with 2GB RAM and a Geforce 7300GS Video Card 640GB HDD all in an Acrylic Clear Box running Windows XPand also for mobility a Netbook MSI U100 with 120GB 2GB RAM running Mint 11
  14. i think Windows 7 is probably the better alternative to XP... Vista hasn't detracted as many users from XP than Windows 7
  15. a free editor that i use to Love is Bluefishi'm not sure if there's a Windows version but it's available for Linux, i think version 2 is out already
  16. as others mentioned already, it all comes down to preference and usage... in my opinion i would say Windows and Linux, but i've only started using Linux and loving it... i've never used Mac OS before other then the iOS on my Ipod Touch...If you're into Gaming i think Windows would be your best choice... Linux is quite a mature OS now and has varieties of Distributions to pick from... if someone asks me which is the best OS... i'd give this Answer, if you just started using Computers, i'd suggest going with Windows

    Hi

welcome to Xisto, enjoy your stay
  18. in my opinion Xisto is probably the best FREE Webhosting at the moment... go ASTA i've been with some reliable hosting service before (FREE) but it had a limit of only 250MB... this was a few years ago! i tried googling for them but i think they've either changed name or no longer in service
  19. i wasn't sure where to put this query so hopefully a mod or admin would push this to the right forum, anyways I've been trying to find where i can view all my posts and threads i created
  20. it would definitely be a better world.. with standard chargers...
  21. most of the time i find cheapest option (for me) if i'm upgrading or looking to build a machine is our local online trading sites... i'm from New Zealand and we have our own ebay-like site -> trademe.co.nz and it's the most popular and most visited local site here... one can score cheap components from itbut im always against second hand parts/trades if i'm building for a client or for someone else... mainly because of warranty issues when it a fault comes inso for personal use i would take on the low bargain of a second hand item
  22. good parts can very depending on ones location... to Zenia, when you say simple, what do you mean? a PC with graphics card is still a simple PC... if you're referring to simple as in price? then still a simple PC can be cheap with a graphics card..
  23. i've used .co.cc and was excited about it being free... but i ran through a few problems, not sure if it was my host or domain but there were certain times that my .co.cc domain was unaccessible or return with timeout error or can't reach error by the browser have you used their service? how was your experience if so?
  24. dogpile interests me because its a meta search, although it gathers mostly if not all from top search results of other search engines, i myself usually looks through the first few search links when i do a search... but most of the time i reside on google for my searches... all my browsers are set with google as default search engine it's usually when i don't come with a good enough result that i would consider other search tools... now i'm having a look at duckduckgo as an alternative
