  1. thanks guys... i used Bodhi Linux live CD to copy data before i format drive
  2. oops... tried installing it to my usb but it wouldn't boot... i think it isn't supported (yet) by the tool i used or it's just not live capable???
  3. i have no problem with it, it's just because i use my netbook most of the time (conveniency) .. the page is too wide with the sidebar for my screen...
  4. i notice that every time i open up Xisto on my browsers (Chromium and Opera) the left Navigation bar is expanded... so i always have to collapse it... is there a way of setting the collapse as default? cheers
  5. - the other option is to copy all data and reformat/repartition hd then copy them back after installation but i don't want to go through the hassle of that process
  6. what i mean is, i want the Data partition to be D: drive still... but it seems like it's getting the C: drive letter and D: for the deleted partition (which was C:) and will be the partition i want Windows XP on (system)so i'm wondering if there's a way of changing these drive letters around on Windows XP Installation process?and i know from experience, if i format drive D: (the previously but deleted C:) on reboot Windows XP will stay with D: letter...
  7. ok... 30MB it's quite handy as a USB bootable tool for all sort of diagnosis purposes and data backing up and stuff... 30MB wow
  8. i formatted the deleted C:\ (system) Partition of my laptop (which had Windows Vista on C:\ and Data on D:\ ) for a fresh installation of Windows XP... then there were something wrong with my installation media... so i retried installation process with another media, but when it comes to creating a system partition for installation i get the D: drive letter for the deleted partition and C: for the data partitionis there a way of changing the drive letters before i install Windows XP?

  10. Pads are growing in popularity, pcs are still around and will be around for awhile, with prices going down on gadgets like pads and netbooks, they sure have a great interest on consumers

  12. yea i was looking at screenshots of slitaz and dsl, it isn't the most pleasant but it does have a simple and functional OS and desktop running...
  13. 30MB? wow... that's awesome... going to try it out now... but it seems the latest version was released 2008, do they have updates for it to now?
  14. i agree... it's like Xisto is provide a great service but members activeness is quite low... it takes a while to get a response to a post and there's also quite a few spams/spammers lurking around the forum which is quite annoying.
  15. the GUI session, in my case Gnome on Mint 11... these logouts happens randomly... it hasn't happened since two days ago, but i'm just curious to know if someone has come across this
  16. try Opera, it's a feature it's been using for sometime now... not sure which version it started on thoughi've been using Opera for sometime now, and with Google Chromium (Chrome in Windows) i use them interchangeably
  17. i'm trying out openSUSE 11.4 with KDE - looks elegant... heard some positive reviews on it... and also i just wanna tryout RPMs...
  18. recently i notice, randomly - probably happened 3 - 5 times in the last 7 days i found Linux Mint 11 to just log me out - so when i log back in all apps have been terminated :unsure:i get a fresh Login... weirdalso does anyone know where does Linux Mint 11 (probably similar to Ubuntu's) store logs for events like these?cheers

  20. i've tried out a few distributions of Linux and i'm just curious what you guys think is the most elegant distribution?so far i think Linux Mint is probably the best in my opinion
  21. i'm just curious if anyone here has installed openSUSE 11.4 on netbook... i know KDE is the more popular (or default) desktop manager for openSUSE... does openSUSE run well on netbooks??cheers

  23. image if someone hacked into a number of Cloud accounts and send printings to them? that would be a disaster, especially if it's a lot of accounts
