  1. so i got this video card: MSI R7850 TWIN FROZR 2GD5/OC http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ current system is this:Intel G620 2.6Ghz640GB HDD Asus GTX 460 1GB DDR5530Watt Raidmax Hybrid 2 RX-530SS4GB Kingston RAMnow my question:would i see any performance boost on playing games on 1400x900 resolution with this beast of a card? i do know that the G620 could be a bottle neck for graphics but that will be upgraded at some stage...i also notice that this card runs on lower wattage compared to the GTX 460... so i'm guessing this is a good thing power-usage-wise?
  2. Platform:iPhone 4iOS 5.1.1 (Jailbroken)Now i have installed GoodPlayer and added a few movies to my phone using iFunbox... i've added/deleted countless movies/videos but lately i found that one folder and a file inside can't be deleted, either through iFunbox or through GoodPlayer itself or iFile (file browser for iOS)anyone have a suggestion or experience this before?
  3. i agree... i don't think it should be a problem having more than one copy of the same Windows DVD/CD if you're intention is only for your computer... makes me wonder weather running same Windows Copy (Serial) on my PC and as a VM (on same PC) is an issue or not... i mostly use the Virtual Machine for testing and learning purposes...
  4. http://edition.cnn.com/2012/09/15/world/meast/embassy-attacks-main/index.html?hpt=hp_t1I&%2339;m a religious person but i don't see the justification behind these violent actions... protests are happening in Australia as well and the police had to get involvedwhat are your thoughts on this?
  5. smart phones have been around for sometime now... they should be smart enough to work-around this, although i think most manufacturers (if not all) DO NOT recommend leaving battery plugged in for too long after its being fully charged... it may shorten the life of the battery... in my opinion - i would expect smart phones of today to be smart enough to handle this...
  6. i have an iPhone 4 and have been advised not to leave it plugged on wall once it is fully charged... but i think as you say it shouldn't be much of a problem because phone should be smart enough to handle it
  7. varies depending on your drive and its physical state, connections etc... and what kinda of data, and softwares running on it... i did a defragmentation before on my laptop which has on 256GB HDD and the speed of accessing it was quite noticable after that
  8. Yip..... there's actually quite a lot of online threads on positive outcomes of attempting Win7 to USB using winflash... a quick google will reveal these...
  9. re-organizing data on the drive, grouping related data together increase performance and also i think (not too sure) it does identify bad sectors as well...
  10. ok... i've read some positive outcomes online on a lot of attempts
  11. Forum isn't that lively so i don't really see the point on creating another Forum for smart devices...
  12. have you tried wintoflash? I've used it for Windows XP but maybe it will work on Win7 as well http://wintoflash.com/download/en/
  13. so defragmenting the NTFS partitions on Linux wouldn't be a good idea? there's plenty of space though
  14. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ spec beats Samsung Galaxy S III The design looks amazingI wouldn't mind owning one of thesewhat are your thoughts?
  15. I have a 640GB Hard Disk drive and it is filled with a lot of stuff... I have two Operating systems running from this drive (Linux and Windows)... Linux can view all Windows Partition, Windows can't view Linux Ext4 partitions...My question is, if i'm going to defrag the drive, which OS and tool should i use? Would it really matter if i Use Linux or Windows?cheers

  17. Can one of the admins check why my website isn't loading at all? when i go to my site http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ i get a connection closed errorcheers
  18. it is still there though.. seems like a simple fix
  19. weird though the randomness of my USB3 not reading USB2 device... it's happened a few times...
  20. USB 3 is backward compatible but sometimes my pc can't read my 16GB USB 2.0 stick... unplugging it from the USB3.0 to a USB2.0 port fix the issue... next time i restart the PC it reads the USB ok.... weird
  21. Only one problem, or more like a minor feature but can be added manually... the neat simple window effects that usually comes already enabled or easily enabled on other DE - e.g. Window effects like wobbly, Cube Desktop Effects which are of course to do with Compiz, but at the moment Compiz seem to be not fully compatible with MATE yet... but they are working on it..
  22. After trying out *buntu 12.04 (U,Xu,Ku) then hopped on to the Mint wagon and tried out Mint Cinnamon, KDE, and Mate. I decided to make LinuxMint 13 Mate my main Linux OS simply because it's the best looking Distro (in my view) It's amazingly elegant like every other mint variant, BUT it has a simple feel to it... and best of all is the clarity of the fonts... i've had some issues with fonts on KDE and the main *buntu variants (U,Ku,Xu)... fonts gets blurry... initially when i first installed LinuxMint 13 KDE font seems fine but after running update and restart, font fell back to the same look as the other distros, blurry and not so easy on my eyes... maybe it's also to do with the colorings and themes (i have tested a few themes and other settings as well)I decided to try out Mate, knowing that it is based on Gnome 2 i didn't expect much but to my surprise it is an amazing elegant laid out OS... the font is just perfect, no need for tweaking other than adding some applicationsOne thing i love about Mint is how it includes a whole bunch of standard applications (in the *buntu majors you have to add these manually) which is quite suitable for a standard user like myself who doesn't like spending time searching for howto install this and that (or going through repository for standard, simple, and common application that is usually used by most users). So i would recommend you all to try out LinuxMint 13 Mate
  23. hehe i know... the most common and simplest of tasks i guess - well you learn new things everyday with Linux
