Ah... OK... How do you do that? Also, I have tried deleting my backup folder, but the sites folder could not be deleted due to some "permission" errors. I tried to change the permissions to 777 (ticked everything), but it didn't work. How do I delete it? I don't know, but I can easily delete the sites folder in the public_html folder, but not in the public_html/backup folder. This is so weird. (By the way, I think I really need luck. Of course, the same thing happened to my friends site, but I accidentally wiped out her public_html folder with the backup folder. The sites folder couldn't be deleted though.) I need to delete the sites folder.

You never know... it may be luck that saved my life this time, but I guess you are right. Oh, okay, thanks. I'll delete the folder right away. I don't see any use for engines to index it and degrade my SEO. But I don't mind backuping. Seems rather fun and technical and professional, and I like all three things. Thanks a lot. It'll be my ace to disaster prevention.

How Do You Know If Someone Loves You?
Nameless_ replied to footo's topic in Dating And Relationships
I agree, mahesh2k. I'd be totally disgusted and wonder why I fell in love with that person in the first place. Seriously. But anyway, cool... I like your advice. Now this is my question: How do you know if someone of the same sex likes you or not? (Pretend both of them are girls). Now please, don't make it disgusting. OK, and I'll take this further: Lets say that you know that someone from the same sex as you likes you, and you like them back, and you want to show your feeling for them? It's harder because of the way society looks at gay and lesbian people... so? Your advice? -
Member Group [hosted] Will Be Changed
Nameless_ replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
I actually quite like mashes2ks idea. I guess I fit well into the Creative category, huh? Maybe to save you time, the members will be able to choose their own groups themselves after a certain amount of posts. It's a very good way to give people labels and keep them motivated rather than ditching them all into one big group that doesn't really mean anything at all, apart from the fact that they are registered at Xisto.Maybe you should have a regular members one, and myCents user one, and customer one (someone that has used Trap17s services with myCENTS or real money, and then in that group after a certian amount of posts, have the creative, design and programming suggestion that mahesh2k has give us.I reckon it's a pretty hot idea. -
Why Can't I Edit Posts Anymore? Post editing is no longer working.
Nameless_ replied to rob86's topic in Web Hosting Support
It's because Opaque said that people were editing their posts to earn more myCENTS (as a cheating way) or something like that, so he had to put a time limit that will not let you edit your posts after a period of time. In this time, myCENTS will not have a chance to update quick enough so people won't be able to edit their posts AFTER their myCENTS have updated and then earn more myCENTS as a cheating way. But then, I never really used the edit function (perhaps I should've. ) and I am usually alright with grammar and typos, so it should be alright. -
Ah... OK, thanks. Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I seem to be addicted to smileys for some reason. Haha, I guess it's because I'm so happy for the success. It took a long time though, and I have to work on not procrastinating. Ah... I forgot to run update.php, but its done now. I don't know anything about settings.php, but I guess I did the right thing. For my friends site, I just had to copy the sites folder in before it's alright again, and I didn't have to install it. It's working fine. But I need luck. Being lucky is better than being not lucky. By the way, am I free to delete the "backup" folder now? And should I?

Would You Use Ie Explorer Even If It Wasn't Bundled With Windows?
Nameless_ replied to The Simpleton's topic in The Internet
I used to use it, because well, as you said, it was bundled with Windows and I used Windows before and I couldn't be bother installing a new browser, but now that I have a mac, I use both the default safari and the mostly loved firefox. I mainly used firefox though, I don't really use safari anyway, I don't really know why, but they seem the same to me.Safari's a bit more convenient if you want to delete your bookmark bar's links, and emptying your cache, but I guess I use Firefox now for some reason. It's sometimes really annoying though, with the offline mode thing and such, but the main reason why I use Firefox is for Xisto, because I can now post on Xisto without having to get kicked out of the system ever few minutes and having to log back in again. -
Why Can't I Edit Posts Anymore? Post editing is no longer working.
Nameless_ replied to rob86's topic in Web Hosting Support
What? There's a limit to edit your posts now? Really? Argh! Panic! Nah, it's fine. I usually check all my spelling before I post. Not sure about grammar though, I was never one that has good grammar and punctuation. I think I use the "..." feature a bit too much....But anyway, I guess it's still good, I don't really mind it, but I really don't know why Opaque would put such a thing in place. I don't really understand why. Oh well, I guess it's hats of the the administrators as they know what is for the best. Just don't keep the limits so short that it's only like, one second or something!Edit: Yes!!! I'm editing this!!! It will probably be my last edit ever, but anyway. Just read the second page of the post. I never knew you could earn more with the editing. I always thought that you would earn less with the editing penalty, but I guess I was wrong. Anyhow, it's bad how us loyal and rule-keeping members have to suffer what spammers do.... :DBut anyway... I guess things may turn for the better in the future, and like many of the members said, it would be great if there are a "spammers" group and a regular "members" group so we don't get mixed up and so that us regular members can edit our posts if we need to. -
ARGH!!!*runs down the Xisto street naked* Forgive me if you think this is in the wrong section, but it's an alert relating to Xisto. There are now officially two Nameless's in this forum that are currently active, and three, in total, including the unactive one. :PARGH!!! There is a clone of my walking and strutting around! But there are differences. The new member is called namelesss while I am called Nameless_. But either way, this is just a notice in case someone gets confused between the two of us. And I reckon this is something worth making a post about, because really, you rather meet someone that has a similar or nearly the same screen name as you in places on the internet. Different people using the same screen name, yes, but they rarely meet together, and people often prefer to make up a different name altogether than go and make a deviation of the existing one, like me and the new fella.Anyway, that's all for now. I guess this thread is rather pointless, but...ARGH!!!! The clone is now running after me!!!*runs back up the Xisto street naked*

Heya, welcome to this free webhost! It's the best free host that you will even find, trust me. Who has ever heard of a free unlimited hosting that is paid to host? Exactly. :PIT's a really friendly forum, I believe, and we have extremely supportive members here that don't get impatient even if you ask the same question over and over again. Which is like me. And it is very newbie supportive, unlike most technical forums that require you to know some real hardcore coding and scripting, and people are eager to go over the basics over and over again. So feel free to browse around this forum, earn some hosting credits and then host your own site.

Heya people sorry for the late reply. But there is good news. YAY!!! I have upgraded my newest Drupal installation without any problem!!! It is a think worth congratulating (yes, talk about egoism and congratulating yourself) because I have been procrastinating this for ages. But anyway. Yes!!! Thanks a lot people. I'll tell you what I did. On a boring day where I decided to tackle my messed up problem, I disable, all my modules and the non-core theme that I was using, refreshed the page, and then I moved all the files to the sites/all/modules or sites/all/themes folder, whichever one is more appropriate, and then I refreshed the page again and checked my list of non-core and core modules to make sure that they are in the right place. :PAfter that... I search in the web for how to backup your SQL database (sorry, I still didn't get you, BCD, but thanks for the help), and then I found that you could export the database into your desktop. I was so scared exporting meant wiping the database off the servers and pasting it on my desktop, but anyway. And then I copied everything in the public_html folder and moved it to a newly created directory called "backup" - I couldn't think up of a better name. And then I just pasted the new version of drupal in, replaced the sites folder, and voila! I'm done. B)Yes!It was weird it didn't tell me to re install though. Must've be lucky then. I helped a friend update it and it needed installing.... Hmm... I don't understand. But anyway. Thanks a lot people! I congratulate the two of you.

Sotw #3 - Voting Vote for your favourite
Nameless_ replied to Tramposch's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yes!!! The Signature of the Weeks are up again!!! I've been waiting for so long. At Tramprosch: Does it really look like that? It's a combination of a variety of pictures mixed together, feathered and blended so that it looks like one big one... But anyway, I prefer critical comments. There is always room for improvement, and I look forward to the Signatures of the Week. I guess I just have to make the brushes more evident, huh? I tend to use less more opacity on them, as I see it as an enhancement tool and not a tool to actually give lots of impression, but anyway, look out for the next sig!!!Hopefully I'll have more improvement then. Looking forward to it. (yes!!! I'm glad I come back to Xisto every so often. I love this community so much) -
Thanks xpress so much. I appreciate you answering to every drupal help question thread that I make. You don't know how many times you have saved my life. Well, what I meant was that I have put my non-core modules into my core modules folder and my non-core themes into my core themes folder. What I tried to do was copy and then delete my current theme from my core modules, and then moving it into the sites/all/themes folder, and then I refreshed my site in my browser. But the template then disappeared (from my browser) and it only showed a plain HTML page instead of the template. And that is why it didn't work. I just want to ask... if that is the case, then how am I meant to then move all my non-core modules into my non-core module folder, not to mention the non-core templates as well? Ah... OK, thanks a lot. I never knew that. So... am I meant to back up my database? I don't know how to do that, even though you have tried to teach me before. I only have a back up of the public_html folder on my computer. Thanks a lot. Nameless_

Heya people. I've got a problem updating the new version of Drupal 6.15 and I need your help. As you may know before, I did some file structures wrong, and instead of putting all of my non-core modules into the sites/all/modules folder, I just dumped them in the modules folder. :PI also did the same thing for the themes. Now, the newest version of Drupal is available, and I have trouble updating my Drupal core. As far as I know, you are meant to copy your sites folder, delete your whole entire site, download the new version of Drupal and then paste in your sites folder. However, I tried to move my current template into a folder in sites/all/themes, and then deleting the theme's old location, but when I refreshed the site, the template is now gone. I still have to move out all of my non-core modules as well, and I'm not sure if it is going to work. Can someone tell me what to do?Also, does copying your sites folder also copies the contents on your site? Because I don't know where all my blog posts and content will go if I update, and I only copied the sites folder. Thanks for the help,Nameless_

A Question Of Free Will Are we just robots?
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Health & Fitness
I believe that everyone's assumption of "free will" is the ability to make choices in life. However, another definition of "free will" could be "the perception of having the ability to make choices in life". And to truefusion: You are saying that things may work the other way round. Most of us believe that it is the chemical processes in your brain and the particles that make us think. But you on the other hand, say that it is us that we willed the particles to move the way we want it to move. And that is every interesting. Which one is correct? It is like saying, whenever the doorbell rings, there is someone at the door. Therefore, the doorbell calls someone to the door. The doorbell makes someone arrive in front of your doorstep. This, we know, of course, isn't true. But we don't know if truefusion's point is true or not, and that is the problem. -
I've been looking for a good free host for 3 weeks
Nameless_ replied to gamefreaksl's topic in General Discussion
I don't think that 000webhost is that good. For one, they don't even have cPanel, and you can only host very very simple sites. 000webhost may be the first free host that you find (I wonder why), but most hosts that you find first aren't the best. What you can do is to go to free host reviewing sites and try out the top few hosting companies. That is what I did and that is how I got my first free host. The support is incredibly bad, but they give out quite a lot of DS and BW, even if they are overselling, but there is a paid to post and a free hosting package as well. -
Hey Wayne, Welcome to Xisto!!! I see that you already have myCents in your account. That's very good. Now all you have to do is to post in the forums to earn enough to host your website. It is a very very great system here, and the members are all very friendly. I wish you the very best in Xisto!!! Feel free to ask any questions to anyone. I'm sure they'll be glad to help if you have any problems at all...Cheers!

A Question Of Free Will Are we just robots?
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Health & Fitness
That may well be very true, but another questions exists: Was human a thing of Fate? From the moment that the Big Bang started, and spewed out everything in a "straight" line", it is inevitable that life had to form the way the energy of the singularity was like before the Big Bang Started. And if life is a definite cause for the big bang, then wouldn't it be inevitable that humans will change the course of the comet? It depends... so humans have thoughts, and they have emotions and all that. But the decisions that they do may already be "decided" by fate, the velocity of the particles and the speed and direction. If that is the case, then we are only presented with the illusion of free will but not free will itself. And yet we cannot just not believe in free will, because if that is the case, then everyone will be sitting around waiting for fate to happen. And that's not going to work. You understand my dilemma? And yet, if you think about the different levels of the human brain, and the subconscious and all that, then perhaps we do have a little free will though. I mean many things have already been written in your genes. Your facial features, your intelligence, and you family background, but there are many things that can change that too, whether it is from within or from outside influence. -
A Question Of Free Will Are we just robots?
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Health & Fitness
Ah... OK... oops. I didn't know that search engines also crawl the links too... I'll change that right away. Yeah, I guess you are right. I'll have to change the links now then... Hmm... OK, I never knew that. Also, do I have to change my signature as well then? But maybe we should keep on topic on "Free Will"? Thanks. -
I don't think that "VCC" is safe. I've been searching on the internet and most of them believe that paypal doesn't think that is right. (What is VCC, by the way?) I'm having the same problem as you, but with an extra problem, but I'm trying to get it right before I start to receive my first funds from the internet. It's giving me a headache.

How Can I Develop A Calendar System Website? For sports people?
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Thanks for the replies... At The Simpleton: I am very sorry, I always thought that the Questions and Queries Forum was for people that had, well, questions or queries for anything, not only Xisto... I'm and very sorry for the misunderstanding. No wonder my threads were sometimes moved to the Email forum when I had my threads for help on MX entries. I will keep that in mind from now on and I will post my threads in the correct forums. Thank you for telling me though. At BuffaloHelp: No, what I meant was that I don't want to share my schedule out. I want to have make a community type of thing that lets people have their own calendars with specific functions. For example, you can add an event like "competition" or "land training" and "water training". I have found the site that I was looking for. Check out this site. If you join in, you will understand what I mean. Or you can Pm me for the password and username for the user that I have used to test out the site. This is a calendar system that allows users to put in what they did for the day (for sports), and I would like to create something like that. Now why wouldn't I just use the site? Because this will be a more private community for my small group of rowers. Thanks, nameless_ -
Heya, this is just a quick question: When are the results going to show up, and when are we going to have our members up on stage? It's my first time, but I'd like to know more about this competition. Sounds fun, though I don't really care whether I get anything or not. Many people here deserves it way more than me. :PNameless_

A Question Of Free Will Are we just robots?
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Health & Fitness
Yes, I agree. In Sims, we are actually controlling them, but they seem to be happy themselves. They have sex if we want them to, get a dog or build a house, but they always did what we told them to, thinking that they did it themselves. Is the same thing happening ot us? Are we just in a game, and God is just a five year old playing Sims on his computer? You may wish you want to explore outside your realm, but you can't. Because like the Sims, you can't walk out of the computer that you were created in. Yes, that is true. And if that is the case, then there is no such thing as probability either, is there? Because if the particles have only one way to act, then there will only be one possibility that can happen, if we don't think about the probability of quantum physics and knowing where one particle is at a certain period of time. And if there is no probability, then history has already been written, and can be predicted. The only thing that we have to do is to wait for it to happen. And then here's the thing. Should we wait for things to happen, or should we just do things? And if we decided to wait, of course, it will never happen, because you didn't do it. If you want things to happen, and yet believe that there is no free will, then you will have to believe, even temporarily, that there is, and believe in yourself, and then do it as if you made things happen. Someone may predict that you will become a famous lawyer one day, but it's not going to happen if you sit around waiting for it to happen. You will have to believe in free will and "make" it happen, if you understand what I mean. And that is where why you must believe in free will even if you don't. Hmm... OK... I didn't know that, but thanks a lot. Is it possible to explain to me more about SEO and why I shouldn't link things via linkbee? Because I don't really understand. Once I do though, I'll change the URL in my post, thanks. And what's a link analyzer? -
Hello people,If you know me very well, you will know that rowing is my favourite sport ever. It is more than a passion. It is life to me. And I am very sad to have quit it this year. However, I would like to make up for it by developing a calendar system so that my fellow rowers can log what they did for the day and keep up with their progress. It would be like a dream come true.I would like to know if it is possible for someone at my level to create a website that is only a calendar program... I had a website that I found before, but I seemed to have lost it, but hopefully you all understand what I am talking about. It just looks like a calendar when you log in, and you can set your schedule there, and do everything like that, including the percentage of how much effort you have put into it and all that.I will keep you updated once I find the website again, if I ever do. :PHaha, anyway, thanks(By the way, I am NOT ditching my blog. No... it's just that I want to work on something else as well. Keep checking my blog and you will see that I have been regularly posting content!!)
