Every day, we see ourselves making robots, and we see ourselves doing our things everyday, and the the question is: Are we just robots? Do we have Free Will? What I mean is that it is possible to think that we are doing our own thing, but we actually isn't. If a computer can predict what you are going to do before you know what you are going to do, do you think we have free will? We make robots do whatever we want them to do, but is there someone else outside out universe telling us to do the same? Controlling each of us, and we don't even know about it? Perhaps we are actually controlled by something else, but we believe that we aren't. In reality, perhaps we do not really have a free will. This has been a matter of great concern by many philosophers.... so, what do you think? Do you think we have Free Will? I, personally, believe that we have, to some extent, but however, we are still controlled by outside forces, whether it is stress or whatever. But humans, after all, at this time of history, cannot see what is outside our realm... we cannot explore, so therefore, we can only speculate. And perhaps, in reality, free will is only an illusion to help us cope with the real reality of having no free will. Feel free to discuss and comment on this topic. Free Will: Are Humans just Robots? Cheers, Nameless_

Hiya hotmaillive? Can you clarify your question? I am assuming that you are asking how to make an account for free webhosting? If that is the case, you don't have to make ten posts before you can get an account. You can just get it now. Go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ to get started, and signup there with the same email that you used for signing up here. You will get your account automatically. However, you will need to post to earn your hosting account. It isn't limited to the number of posts that you make though, it is limited to the quality and the length of posts that you make. Technically, one very long post is better than a hundred one liner posts put together, so the more better your posts, the faster you will get your hosting account. Go back to the Xisto - Support centre to buy your account once you get enough credits. Cheers, Nameless_

Hmm... OK then... I guess I will just leave them on the site then... But thank you very much though. I guess I am just a paranoid person... yeah well, because those weren't exactly discussion posts, they are similar to articles, so people can just copy and paste on their blog and not change anything, but I suppose you are right...Who is going to read it anyway? No one. Well, maybe one or two... should be fine though... and that is what I hope. And if they like it, they might want to come to my blog to see what I have to share as well... so maybe it is a good thing after all??? It's not only the Creative Commons thing though. I was wondering whether to take them down way before that. But anyway... Cheers, Nameless_

I Can't Update Modules In Drupal Especially the Views module
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Thank you SO much, xpress!!! I didn't realise that you had to create another module folders in the sites/all directory for non core drupal modules... Now it works!!! I'll have to move the modules one by one to the correct folder when they need updates from now on. Thanks so much!!! Now I because of this thread, I have learned a few new things, like what "untarring" means, which is to unzip the tar.gz folder, and how to run update.php and cron.php correctly, as well as why cron.php has a blank page when you visit it. Thank you so much for your help!!! Xisto turns out to be better than the drupal.org forum. People there still hasn't resolved my problem yet and Xisto beat them to it. Yes! Now the update status page is correct, with the new version of the module correctly recognised... I wonder how many errors I have made in installing drupal? Well, this is the first one, and I suppose there will be many more to come. Do you also have to create a templates folder in sites/all for non-core templates? Nameless_ -
This is so complicated. That's why I don't like posting stuff on the internet... Unless I have a certain proof that this post is made by me, seriously, anyone can pose as the random user "Nameless_ from Xisto" and claim the post as theirs. This is so hard... I don't know what to do now. I think, to be very very honest with everyone, it is just mainly the fact that I didn't post the Train Journey thing in the right place (I posted it in the no post count area), and therefore didn't get anything for that and that is why I am going crazy about it... ARGH!!! I mean, at least I published it in the school magazine. That counts as proof, right? I don't know what to do now. Should I delete the three posts or WHAT? I am in a dilemma now. At mahesh2k: Yeah... I'll see if there is a module for that (plug-in for wordpress) on Drupal so that people don't copy my posts, but I can't use that for Xisto, can I?

I Can't Update Modules In Drupal Especially the Views module
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Thanks guys.... I'll have to try out the coding thing, but there are more problems... I ran cron successfully manually, but the thing still didn't update, and it still shows the error. I have posted the error message below and the image. I don't understand. The views module is up to date in my filezilla FTP thing... I'll attach another picture up for it, but cron doesn't seem to recognise the new file and thing that it is still the old version. What is going on? Views is still working, because I have the archives up, and I don't use the archives module for that, I use the Views module, but cron still says that it is still the old version when it is obviously not.By the way, why do we have to not let anyone run cron? Isn't that a good thing? The run cron by someone else? I don't think anyone will bother doing that though... -
I Can't Update Modules In Drupal Especially the Views module
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Web Hosting Support
OK... so... do I just download the poormanscron module? And that will help me run cron? Also, I went tried to go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, but I all have is a blank page, unlike http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Is that meant to be correct? I will download porrmanscron and see if it works, thanks... I hope it works... They should have that module automatically installed in it is needed to run a cron job. I tried to run cron manually, but it still shows the error, and it cannot detect that I already have the new views module installed. -
Perhaps that might be the case, but what if I want to post them on my blog, or something like that? Also, yes, people do copy, and they might get caught, but many of them don't. It's not the posts that I am worried about, it's my articles and my works... in particularly the Train Journey article that I have written and the two psychic phenomena tutorial articles... apart from that, I have no worries. I mean... well, unless people are absolutely sure that I did this thing, I don't want anyone copying it... or making a deviation out of it, especially the Train Journey one, because I like that idea a lot and it is rather original and unique to me... Can you provide me with other means of persuading me that I shouldn't take those three posts down? Thanks, Nameless_

Hello people... after a long break from Xisto working on my blog, I have come to find that Xisto is now working on a Creative Commons License. You can see that this is true from the Creative Commons License Buttons on the bottom of the forum... And after looking at the license, it seems like everyone and anyone can now take what we have posted here on Xisto and change it or say that it is their own work. Now, I have a few works that I have posted on here, and I do not wish for anyone to take it as their own, so is it possible for me to edit my works so that they are now gone? Also, I have posted on under the (No post count) forums. If I edit it, does that mean that I will lose myCents?Thanks... I didn't know that Xisto was on Creative Commons... -Sky-, you better watch out, because your Chronicles of Niko might get taken by someone else and they might put it up on their site instead soon....Nameless_

The thing is, you don't only lose your laptop. You also lose your drink. Of course, there is also the potential risk that you may lose all the data stored on your laptop, which also includes all the time and effort and maybe even money that you have invested in it. The only thing that I can say is: Don't drink in front of your laptop!I actually spilled some pizza pie on a school computer one, and the food got stuck between the keys and I couldn't get it out. Miraculously I think a new one got replaced at the school and I didn't get caught, despite having a lot of witnesses. I guess you can trust you friend on these things. So don't drink or eat in front of your laptop!!! That is all I can say. Haha... cheers, Nameless_

Hello Zerailieus, welcome to Xisto. I see that you are looking for a web hosting company, and Xisto is perfect for you. This is a paid to host company that offers service comparable to a paid hosting company, and it also offers top level domain names as well as unlimited bandwidth and diskspace hosting as well if you post enough. How do you get started? You will have to register at the main site here and sign up with the same email as you used for signing up here. After that, post at least 5 posts and you will see a mycents text under you name. You mycents will grow as you post more, and it will automatically transfer to your billing account once it gets to 100. You can then use these credits to buy your hosting account and your domain name if you want. There is also a free domain name if your prefer. Good luck! Xisto has a very friendly and helpful community, and the members here will go to lengths to help you out. I owe them a lot, and I hope that in turn, I will grow to become an expert and help out new people in the future here on Xisto. Have fun, and good luck!

That's nice, The Simpleton. Keep up the good work!!! I love how this forum works though... I swear, the members here are the most friendliest out of ANY of the forums that I haven ever saw. Friendly AND loyal to Xisto as well... keep up the good work! Opaque is very lucky to have these members in his forum, though of course, he must have played a part in making this forum the way it is today. :PHappy Christmas and a Very Happy new Year! I'm so glad that I joined this forum and didn't ditch it as I nearly did because my mycents wasn't really showing when I was just starting. But now that I am here, I am very happy, and I have never regretted coming to Xisto. The only reason why my site is online today is because of everyone here on this forum, and I would like to thank you very very much. Thanks for supporting me!!! You have made one of my dreams come true.

I Can't Update Modules In Drupal Especially the Views module
Nameless_ replied to Nameless_'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Oh... I don't know how to back up my database though... but my site seems to be working normal... so I think it's working? Well, I go error messages before, and then I updated things again and the error message was gone, so I am not sure if the error message is still there, but if I update it properly, then it should be right... and thanks, you didn't have to edit your post for that. Thank you very much!!! Yes... this is the problem. I don't know how to set up cron, or understand what the "crontab" is, or "tarring" stuff, and maybe that is why I have the cron job problem. Can you explain what cron really does, and how to run it and set it periodically? Also, what does Tarring mean? I have read it in a drupal forum thread on updating modules but I don't know what that means. Yes, I copied the whole public_html folder via FTP. I'll check out the update thing that you said on cpanel. And YES!!! It's the 6007 thing. I don't understand what that means, but I tried to update that. But there is still the updating error that is showing. I don't know how to check the path or "tarring" stuff though. Please explain!!! Thank you very much!!! Yes... that was what I did. I just deleted the old views folder and put in the new one. I copied the whole site too, so the old folder is still there. I extracted the folder in my computer and then uploaded it via FTP though. So therefore, it must be the update.php that isn't working properly. I went to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ to run it, and then I pressed update. But the update thing still tells me to download the new version when I checked in the reports page. So I tried to manually update #6007 but the same thing still happened, so I tried #6000 instead, thinking that it was the wrong version. But then the error messages showed, so I updated it again without touching anything and after a few tries it worked. Maybe it's the running cron problem? I don't know how to run cron. Can someone help me? I tried to uninstall the module, but I couldn't do anything, so I didn't do it. Thanks... Nameless_ -
Hello people... it seems like such a long time ago when I asked a "Questions and Queries" thread... but it seems like I need your help again. Help at Xisto is always much much more efficient and faster and better than any other communities like Drupal.org, so I thought that I should come that to my lovely Xisto community in which I now call my home and ask for some help. The problem is that I can't seem to update my modules on my drupal site, especially the views module. Cron stopped working for ages and then it suddenly works again, and then I found out that my views module needed updating, and I have been trying to update it for hours. I've deleted the Views module 6.x-2.7 and replaced it with 6.x-2.8, but while I did that properly, and tried to run update.php on my site, it still shows that I haven't updated it yet. Can someone help me?I think it is something to do with the update.php, because I'm not sure how to use it, and I tried to choose the right files in the views module to update, but it showed line errors instead. Now it seems to be working okay... I'm not sure if the line errors are still there... but anyway... Can someone tell me how to update my modules in Drupal? And cancel out any possible errors? Thanks. Also, an easier way of back upping my site will be nice. I had to copy the whole folder and paste it on my desktop. Took a long time. Thanks so much, Nameless_(By the way, Xisto is still my favourite forum. )

Wow... change of character huh? I thought that you were so TOTALLY against PTC sites. But I suppose I'm wrong. But anyway, yeah, I'll start clicking on neobux tomorrow. And then I'll see if I can join other sites... mylot is cool, but you need to spend a lot of time on it. SO I'm just advertising my blog around. I joined blogcatalog too, so it's cool. I hope my IPs alright though. It should work. Haha, I'm up to around 145 on mylot now. Not seriously earning money though, just casual.

What? As far as I know... Xisto - Web Hosting asks for $11 dollars a month (USD) for unlimited hosting, and to me, that is very very expensive compared to the normal $2-3 dollars that you have to pay per month on other hosting sites like Fat Cow. Even the $5 costs per month is better than the $11 dollars per month for unlimited hosting.

Haha, good for you!!! I swear, Xisto would be a good "GTP" site that isn't a scam at all. For domain hosting and website hosting, of course. You can easily earn enough for a months worth of hosting in a day and a domain in a week... while other get paid to sites gives you like, one dollar a month or something like that. :PI love Xisto!!! Anyway, good for you!!! I hope you enjoy your new domain!

Technology may be convenient, and it may help us in some parts of life, but in others, it does not good. For example, cars let us go to places that we may have never went before if we didn't have cars, and planes just let us go to places that might have never been in our imaginations. The washing machine makes things more convenient, and cranes and building technology just gives us a good place to sleep and hide from predators. We also have light to keep the dark out. These are the good things. The bad things like technology like iphones and ipods, games and stuff like that. That is where we waste out time in virtual worlds and sticking out heads in clouds of imagination. Now THAT is what I called the bad side of technology. Not to mention people getting fatter and more obese.

Wow... are you planning to build a computer??? Good luck!!! I'm not sure about this, but maybe anwii's right. About you dreaming, but if you perservere, then I believe that it is possible!!! It's wierd how anwii sees things though. I said: I want to create a website, but I am giving up! And anwii goes: Persevere, you lazy bum! You will get there one day! And you go: I'm building a computer! And anwii goes: You must be dreaming!!! :DHaha, I love anwii sometimes. He may go on rants, but they're worth reading. good luck anyway, and all the best to you!!!

Haha, I love your proxy lists, but out schools are getting smarter. Now the accounts themselves are on "interactive Log_on", so that the whole account is on a proxy itself, that blocks every single site that isn't catergorised. Which is sad, because out of the 25 plus millions of websites out there, only a small portion of the websites aren't blocked, so educational or not, they are all blocked alike unless they are very popular... in which most aren't.And the most stupid thing is, Xisto is BLOCKED and Xisto isn't!!! Argh! Why can't it be the other way round! PTC sites aren't blocked, on the other hand, by my blog is, and so are other forums like mylot. The governement can be stupid sometimes. They blocked nearly every site when you search for "Flags of the World" for geography. Talk about educational. IT's more like hindering our education instead.

Hello Marina01!!! Welcome to Xisto!!! It's a nice way to host your site, if you want. This forum doesn't only provide you with wonderful members, they also help you alot, and you can host a free site here as well, along with a proper top level domain name. But in my opinion, learning from this site alone is well enough, but if you are interested in the hosting program, proceed to the Xisto's Billing and support center (https://support.xisto.com/) and then signup there. You should be able to see mycents under your name in no time after you've done 5 posts and then you can host your own site. Feel free to post here for help or PM me if you have any questions about anything at all!! Cheers, Nameless_

Xisto is the main company, like mahes2k said, and they also run other branches, like the paid hosting company Xisto - Web Hosting (its way too expensive though, in my opinion), and they have the absolutely free account on qupis, then paid to host on Xisto (the best, I think. ) and they all use the same system, which isn't surprising. :PBut it's really, good, I suppose. I mean, the absolutely free bit on paid to host. I have yet to see a hosting company that offers as much as Xisto does for free. I'm a loyal member for life!!! I hope...

haha, well, I'm still here if the guy that started this still needs some help, but I haven't heard from them in a while, so I guess the projects off then. I would like to make some flash applications and some games though. It'd be cool. All philosophical, of course. I'll try and put them up on my site. But anyway, we're still here if you need the support and help!!!I'd like to take part in it, because it'd be a great way to hone my programming skills. Just waiting for instructions though.

I don't really understand what you mean.... about the FX and things like that, but if you want to change the colour of the text, first select the text and highlight it, and then click on the colour palette to select the colour. It should change the colour of your font. If you want to keep the current colour on your palette but need another colour for the font, click on the arrow exchangy button and you will be able to choose another colour while keeping the original colour in memory. If you have anymore questions, feel free to post them up or PM me. I love Photoshop and its a great tool to use. Took me some time to get use to it though, but the function's great.

Heya rubikcode!!!! You're very lucky!!! You've got one of our administrators to personally invite you!!! Haha, I wish I had that privilege. Anyway, it seems like I arrived a bit too late now though. I've been so busy working on my blog and advertising it that I just couldn't find the time to post here on Xisto. Now I know what some people post so little here, and just enough to earn enough mycents for the month. :PI never understood, I always thought that it was strange that I usually post so much that my post numbers shoot out of the roof in no time, but now I know that there is more to the internet than only posting on one forum, which is what I usually do. Haha, but anyway, have a nice time at Xisto!!! I hope I'll be able to catch you around the site soon. :PGood luck!!!
