I've learned something. I wasn't counting out flash. I justdon't know enough about it,and thought I'd give myhonest opinion so far, so as to get some feedback. Isn't action script almost the same as javascript?I may be naive, but the way I see it,couldn't many of the things that flash does, be done using javascript?Especially if there were a dll created for larger images?Something to make larger images load faster? The way I see it,also, Visual studio runs perfectly fine on my computer,is incredibly usefull and is my measuring stick againstother applications. That's how I tend to judge other applications.

Designing Vs Templets Which do you prefer?
networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Websites and Web Designing
People call my web designing "retro".I even stopped using javascriptclient side because of browser incompatabilities, but I think I'llchange my mind about that again. The way I see it.My web pages may be "retro" but at least theyare somewhat original and unique. I find that most of these available tempeletes are very, very generic and most of themseem to be built for blogs. For the better,or for the worse, I'd rather not use tempeletes.Much of what these tempeletes have done, is make it so a lot ofpeople can call themselves web designers, when they don't know a thing. -
I'm not a doctor obviously, but maybe maalox would help to lineand protect your stomach.Obviously certain foods you would have tocut back on. No natural acid foods such as citrus fruits and pasta sauce and such.I've heard with acid stomach problems taking anti-acid tabletsmay make the condition worse because a stomach will naturallyovertime, adjust itself to balance the acids. I had a wierd acid stomach problem a couple of years ago. Also, it felt like I always wanted to burp but I couldn't.Eventually, slowly, it got better. Best of luck.

I don't believe in death clocks. When it's your time todie then it's your time to die.Look at how many athletic types die young of heart attacks. They're all supposed to live until they're 90. If there is a death clock,it's hands move both counter and clock wiseat random, and settle in place with the roll of a dice so tospeak. In summary, there is no death clock.

What is it with Adobe flash? The application is gigantic and for what? What amounts to a glorified javascript slideshow script really. I've built slideshows in javascript that could ofpassed as "flash" to the uninitiated. These slideshowsonly work with smaller images I found. If the images aretoo large the page doesn't load properly. That's the onlyreal advantage that adobe flash seems to have as faras I can see.The downloaded flash dll enables entire web pages tobe "slideshows". And flash is a big deal because they can show embedded movies in a web page?Big deal. What would I know though? I've never had a chance to use flash.I tried installing Adobe Flex Builder 3 only to find you needed.1 gig of ram!2 gig recommended. 1 gig of Ram? 2 gig recommended? Yet it only needs500 meg hard disc space. What a contradiction. That's ridiculous. What an overbloated piece of #$#$#Adobe flash and the like is. Maybe flash has certain image manipulation properties, but you could probably get these with many of the scores of free graphic software that is out there. I feel Adobe in general is a bit of a sham. That theyare just lucky. It's just my opinion. I think they are way over rated.

Tips To Avoid Property Loss When You're Overseas
networker replied to bishoujo's topic in General Discussion
I think one of the best ways of not being ripped offwhen traveling is to always travel light.Take as few things as possible. What do you need a laptop for? Your travelling in the realworld not a virtual one. There are internet cafes all over the placeto use. Always keep identification and your money wallet,in the front pocket of your pants,or inside the inside pocket of your jacket, next to your chest.zipped up if possible. I see you allready mentioned this one!Never pull out large amounts of cash in public! Try to seem broke. If you suspect thieves around you, complain that everything is way too expensive, and how are you going to eat? This will dissuade them. They will think you are broke and they will look elsewhere. If this fails, ask yourself out loud,if you can borrow a dollar or a euro or a yen off somebody. They will soon be discouraged. -
This may sound naive, but I think one way of dealing with viruseswould be to put law enforcement agencies and governmentin charge of them, rather than just individual profitmaking companies as it is right now. Computer viruses are a criminal entity, even a terroririst entity. If possible, find the people who are behind the creation of these viruses.Find the people who perpetuate them and make them thrive. Charge them with criminal acts and throw them in jail.

All of the survey sites I've tried have been a scam. I was never sent nowhere near enough surveysto actualy make anything, yet I was emailed by all kindsof new survey companies requesting that I join. I tried joining a few of these, only to get the same result.I could never get close enough to making ten dollars, and10 dollars was the minimum payout that they had. No surveys for me ever again.

"similar Topics" Module This is a bug, I suppose
networker replied to DeM0nFiRe's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yes.That module seems to gather together some weird similiar threads,bu generally I think it's allright. I don't think the filter should just be from the last ninety days.Theres probably a lot of old threads which would be interesting torevisit. At least Xisto forums have a good variety of interesting subjects. Not like some other forums where every post is about your favorite computer game or xp verse vista. -
Cuba And Embargo Lift the Embargo or not?
networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
I say lift the embargo on Cuba. Castro is very paranoid about the U.Sand I say he has a right to be,just look at the bay of pigs.He can't forget unless everybody forgets. If Obama did remove the embargo I think it wouldreally be seen as an act of good faith by the Castros. Fidel Castro may be a strong leader but there is no way he has everappropriated a stance such as that used by a Joseph Stalin. He has shown no signs of being ruthless to the Cuban people. I admire Fidel Castro. I say give Cuba a break. -
My favorite football team is the Bolton Wanderers ofthe English premier league. They are one of the original fa teams from around 1870/1880.Basically they are just as much a Manchester team as Manchester United, and after well over a hundred matches against united have close to aneven record against them. Why everything is always Manchester United this, or Manchester United that, I don't know. There are lots of other Professional teams in England with rich histories. My favorite player is probably El Hadji Diouf, who we sold toSunderland last year.

Public Speaking did you ever had to speak in front of an audience?
networker replied to tatati's topic in Business Forum
I've played a lot of music gigs in front of people.Anywhere from 2000 people to 2 people. The thing is ,once you get used to this it is rather easy to do.A good technique for concentration when speaking to a large group, is don't look anybody in the eyes, butstare into a blank space or the far back wall. This helps you to keep focused and not be distracted. The more you speak/perform in front of people, themore confident you get doing it. -
You can find coincidences in anything. There is no hocus pocusmagic about world events,or anything in this world for that matter. Why some people like to freak themselves out this way I don't know. The world is based purely on logic, or it's opposite extreme, lack of logicfor that matter. If you drop a penny from your hand it always falls downward.Theres nothing you can see into this that isn't there.Just common sense.

Theories How The Dinosaurs Got Extinct many
networker replied to hibbso's topic in Science and Technology
I think it's highly likely that some kind of disease killed most ofthem off. Great reductions in numbers because of this meant thatthere were sparse numbers for mating, which more so reduced they'rechances of population growth.Changes in environement which affected they're eating habits(i.elack of edible plant life) further contributed to the decline ofdinosaurs. Since they weren't very mobile or smart this greatly affected them. If the decline were due to a comet hitting earth, as some say, thenI think this comet collision would of had a slow gradual affect rather thanan immediate one.The comet might of formed a giant dust bowl above the earth, blockingsunlight and affecting the growth of plant life and therefore great amountsof the dinosaurs diet would of been reduced. -
Windows 7 - A Promising Os From Microsoft Windows 7 thoughts
networker replied to Tramposch's topic in Operating Systems
Time will tell. I wonder if one would be allowed to upgrade directly from windows xp rather than Vista? As far as I'm concerned Windows Xp is a fine operating sytem andsuits all of my needs. I don't play many games so I don't need much.If it's not broken then don't fix it.I wish Microsoft truly believed this. -
I have the vb.net standard edition and you have to do any asp.net coding right on the web server. Microsoft issued a handy little application called the web matrix that has a web server built right into it that you can use right on your desktop. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ You can use vb or c# with it.

I don't know if it's illegal for you to download from this site if you are paying for the downloads. They should have some deal worked out with the record labels. One would actually have to view the contracts and small print to know for sure. This is a good site for listening : http://www.coolmusiczone.com/music/ You don't actually download the songs but just listen to them.

Yes.Sleeping pills are a band aid solution.Besides,if you took them every night your system would soon buildup an immunity to them and you would just have to take moreof them.I think if you do use them, try not to use them everynight. The best thing really is to keep busy all day, if not in the bodythen in the mind. Sometimes it's hard getting proper exercise every day when theweather is sub zero outside.

Psychedelic Medicine Alternative to psychiatric difficulties
networker replied to matak's topic in Health & Fitness
I think it's debatable really how Lsd could really help bi-polardisease. These experiments were done in the 1950's when mccarhtism and rampant anti-communism wereheavily prevalent. It all seems very irrational as does lsd experiments to basically make people more coherent. Sometimes I think these shrinks just like putting they're fingers intoelectronic circuits to see what happens. We know very little about how the human brain works. -
I don't think I would want to visit this museum. It's way too creepy for me.About the only dead bodies I'd ever go and see wouldbe egyptian mummies. I find that really interesting. Mind boggling.

Name Brand Or Knock Off's which do you like best?
networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
If it works, and it looks allright,I say use it,regardless of the name.If you really want to find deals and are willing to search then you can find them. -
I think it looks simple but really good,I like the banner at the top and also the fact that you have small uniform size thumbnail images. It seems easy to read and navigate to.

Web Sites To Come sites of today and tomarrow
networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think the sites of the future will be 3d.For example you'll be able to visit a site and basically get a feel of what it was like to be in a prehistoric jungle. Your actual room will be your computer. One will be able to see what it was like being a gladiator back in Roman times. They'll have different reality options and levels you can choose. You'll be able to see your favorite musicians like they wereplaying right in front of you. I think with all this, people will still visit websites just to read though. It would be interesting.
