I agree with everything you said if the operating system to be used was for a person with very little or basic computer knowledge. In my case, I have had windows xp for a very long time and have not had a spyware or virus issue (I guess I am just a smart / lucky surfer then), but I do know many people that always end up with viruses / spyware and a really slow machine. In the mac's case, well, I cant say how much I like the macbook pro. But it is insanely expensive :S , I would love to have one since I like to produce music, but with that kind of money I can buy myself a really good laptop with the same specs, and a desktop. :S , and dont even tell me about the macbook, because in my opinion it is crap. It is nothing more than a toy, I know 2 people that have them where I worked and they looked like a fisherprice toy and within a couple of months they had a couple of issues.And linux.... well it is awesome, I like to use it as the operating system to do work and surf. It is really hard for people who dont have much computer knowledge.. which is no problem for me... The only real problem for me that linux has is that many software companies if not all, do not make linux versions of their programs. I know there is wine and some other programs that let you run some programs under linux but I feel like it just wont work as good as it does in an optimized xp operating system.

Nice... They finally fixed the memory issue, which I am pretty sure that it wasnt due to the extensions because it happened at work were I dont have any extension installed in the browser. It would spike up to 200m after as little as 30 minutes of use, it also does that in my home computer. I was getting really annoyed with it, because most of the time it would slow down the computer tremendously and I would have to force the task manager to end the application. That was something that never really happened with the first versions of firefox, even with extensions.

Wooow... I have never seen google go down. Like everyone said, it is most probably your ISP. In case it is though, you can try google in other locations or just use a different search engine in the meantime like yahoo, or msn search. Did Gmail also go down for you? I am pretty sure I was using it last night with no problems, though it could be that I am in Mexico and its a different server.

I definitely think that the internet could be destroyed. The only way of destroying it that I can think of, is by a super mega ultra virus, capable of attacking all the internet servers at a very super ultra fast speed all at once. This virus would be capable of destroying all information on the servers regardless of the operating system, but I doubt something like that would be very hard to do. The creators would have to have knowledge of many types of operating systems and ..... but now that I think about it.... many hosting providers have all their information backed up.... So I guess that even if they destroy the information on these servers, they could easily restore the information and the virus would be no good.... Now I have to think on another idea to destroy the internet...

Well..... I really dont think that you will ever get everyone to agree.... unless this was a forum devoted to christianity. There are a lot of religions and the main reason is because people think so differently. Everyone will end up choosing the religion they like or the one they grew up with and that will depend on the region that person grew up in. I really think that it is pretty unfair that you are thinking about christianity being superior if you have not compared it to the other religions like saying what kind of good or bad things, strengths or weaknesses each religion has. If you study many religions you will soon find out that most of them are very alike in many many ways. I would recommend that you go ahead and investigate some other religions out there.

Well if we didnt have religion, then there would be less manipulated people and less wars. If you read a bit of history, you will find out that the main purpose of many religions were to control and manipulate people, just like if it was a form of government. I do have to add that religion besides controlling, has also helped some people so I am really not against it entirely.

Nice One Saint Michael, I was really thinking about switching from firefox to another browser, at first I was thinking about opera, but I think you just saved me some time. Its speed sounds really amazing, I wonder if its true. I guess I will be downloading it soon because I am fed up with firefox eating up all the memory and freezing up my pc. I remember when firefox was a really good browser.... It all got ruined in version 2

Wow, I have been so close to recieving that virus..... I didnt know it was so destructive. Well, I actually dont use an antivirus, because I know that eventually the best way to keep your computer working 100% again will be by reinstalling windows. Whenever I have had a strong virus, I backup and start all over again. It will save you from a lot of hassle, and its guaranteed to work.

That is one thing that used to happen with my relationship I had with an ex girlfriend some time ago. We would always argue because we couldnt really make up our mind. I guess it was just because the relationship was starting to get boring, and thats why we decided to break up.

Well, I just to love firefox. I just hope its not as bad as firefox 2.0 which is horrible after a couple of minutes of utilization because it eats up all your memory :S and slows down the computer tremendously. If they fixed this issue in the new version then I will be a happy firefox user once again. About the firefox interface, well thats not really a problem because there is a lot of skins for it. Some are really good.

Yeah.. Macs are awesome.... But... too expensive. I feel like if you dont get the Pro version or a desktop version its not really worth it. The macbook looks very fragile or delicate. It reminds me of a fisher price toy :S , well anyways, I wont really get into any discussion with the Mac OS, it is by far superior to the Windows OS. Probably not for you if you are a gamer, though there are a lot of games in OSX now. The specs an apple computer can have will probably never be as good as the ones a pc can have, but the os will never be defeated no matter what you do to it, or how much you optimize it.

I have really been thinking about it, and I really liked what MadDog said about anything that gives "me an edge over the competitor for the same position has to help". Which I definitely agree upon, and It has led me to believe that I wont really need chinese for my position. I would be better of learning another programing language or getting certified in certain programs which are related to my career. Besides, at the rate in which technology is moving, I wouldnt doubt that we are near to having a high tech device that will be able to translate languages on the fly. Wouldnt you think?

I also think this game is awesome, I like playing games that end up taking forever to complete. We play with the hamachi network. I also agree with what they say about the IA cheating. I hate it when they declare war on you, because as soon as they do it, all of a sudden like 20million units are next to one of your cities and usually gets captured. And i have also had some units with a bunch of experience and full health all of a sudden getting killed by other units with less health and experience. Even though its not fair, it still a really fun game.

Well if you already have a book about asp, then I suggest you start with that. Although I think you will find more tutorials on php + mysql, plus its easier to find a server with php support. Overall I think php is great, probably even better than asp, but what I do know, is that asp jobs pay more.

I am also facing this situation right now, one is my ex-girlfriend who wants me back, and the other is a new friend I met about a month ago. I really dont feel like doing anything about it, mainly because I dont want to hurt any of them, and I feel like if I keep things the way they are, I can be friends of both of them. But If I pick one, then one of them is going to hate me forever. Besides I dont feel like being in a relationship right now, I have too much things to do at this point in my life, so I guess I will have to talk to them and let them know how I feel about all this.

I have begun to hate html now that I have to support IE6, IE7 and standards compliant browser. It has begun to be a serious pain in the butt to make different styles, well actually workarounds in order for a site to look the same in different browsers. I am going to have to go back to flash, and maybe even try silverlight, as those will always look the same in any os that uses flash and will actually look nicer. The new phones that are coming out can even run flash apps, so there is no big deal o that either. Most internet connections are broadband now.... so I really dont see any advantages in using xhtml anymore, I really feel like quitting on it.

What email service are you using? SOme email services scan files before they let you download them. I have never had an issue like this so thats why I wonder what email service you used. I agree with running a virus scan test on safe mode, it works a whole lot better, and in the future try not to open files that seem suspicious...
