Excellent Computer Related Practical Jokes....
FLaKes replied to KansukeKojima's topic in General Discussion
Lol, I did that a couple of times a while back. its a really good joke. Nobody expects it. Another joke I did in school a while back was with the netsend command. I would send jokes or funny warning messages to peoples computers. I would scare the people, the message was something like, we have been monitoring and we know you have been accesing restricted sites or something like that, and that they shouldnt move because they were going to come for them. LOL, you should see peoples faces after this, they would close every window and sit and pay attention to the class and act like everything was alright. This got me in to trouble once, though. A huge goth kid wanted to beat me up, it was really funny because he said he was watching us and that he knew that we had turned his computer off. What this guy did not know is that his computer had the sasser virus and that his computer turned of by itself because of it. I guess he noticed it since he still had the problem and we werent playing with netsend anymore. I had a couple more jokes, but I cant remember them at the moment, If I do, I will sure be back. The netsend joke does not work on most machines anymore since that command has been disabled with windows updates, its a shame, it was really fun, you could also communicate with friends like if it was a chat almost. -
I guess you could speak with programming languages... using functions that return echo with something you would like to say. =b.Anyways, back to the topic, I can speak fluent spanish and english and I can tell you all about schools between elementary through high school in both united states and Mexico. There really is a huge difference. I have also studied a bit of german, but I keep forgetting the basics because I have no use for german. As you can see I also know a bunch of programming languages..

Last weekend I bought some things at home depot so that I could mount on the wall of my room a pair of speakers I just bought. So I did the measuring to keep the speakers at an equal distances, prepared to drill the wall, everything appeared to be going fine, I drilled exactly 5cm as the manual said. But then when I put the plastic things where the screws go, they didnt go all the way in, so i sort of forced the screw and I ended up cracking the wall an a small part of the paint fell down, .No I am going to have to look for another place to hang my speakers and get somebody to fix my wall. I will investigate on how I can do it myself.

I used to play video games a lot, I guess this died for me back when I bought the gamecube. What a horrible video gaming console. Then I started getting into music, and now I spend all the money I have in buying music gadgets and now instead of playing videogames, I play a lot of music. I have even started dj'ing, hope I can make some cash out of it to get some money back from the equipment and to keep on updating my rig. I will even start recording demo cd's for band soon. About videogames.... meh, I am about to sell my tv too, =bI dont think I will be getting any of the nu generation consoles any time soon, got to pay for a lot of stuff =S

I currently use avg free, I really dont have one because I feel like I need it, I keep it there just in case and only in the partition that has internet access. In the partition that I use for music production, I keep it without internet access and without any antivirus consuming the resources.

I think that your idea would be really fun, but why are we so used to receiving costly expasions to the game. Cant the company make a really fun and complete game on the first version? What they usually add to the updates is so little that even the end players end up adding more with their own mods.

Wow, the graphics look amazing. I havent played call of duty yet, it looks really fun though. I wonder what the multiplayer is like, a team fortress sort of game would be awesom.

Cats Vs. Dogs: Who Will Win? These are peoples OPINIONS.
FLaKes replied to Thyta's topic in Home & Garden
Cool, its a tie!! Which is what my answer was. I do not prefer one from the other, it really depends on the animal. Sometimes the dog could be a boring dumb dog, and sometimes the cat can be a cat who does not even care about you and only cares about you feeding him and giving him water. Some dogs are really fun and can also help protect the house and some cats can also be playful, curios and cute. It also depends on what the owner wants, but I really dont prefer one from the other, I guess I would choose both if I was given that option. -

Are You For Or Against Cloning? what would be your reason?
FLaKes replied to adriantc's topic in Science and Technology
I vote for cloning, but humanity has got to be careful with it, because with great power comes even greater responsibility. There are a lot of good things that we can only imagine at the moment that can be done with cloning, but there are also a lot of bad and evil things that can be done with it. Overall cloning is great scientific progress which can only be good if handled the right way. I really liked how this subject was introduced in this thread, the nuclear technology was a great example. -
Wow, the other day I installed open office on a freshly installed windows xp, and I was amazed!! I actually liked it more than office xp/2003. I would definitely recommmend open office, and I wouldnt doubt that in a near future it is going to be a whole lot better than microsofts word. .... we said the same thing about the gui in linux right? Isnt it better than vista's or even mac's gui now that compiz fusion is out?

Simple Portfolio Template grey-green-
FLaKes replied to MusicOnly's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I cant really be harsh on it, I actually like it a lot, I like the color combination a lot. Maybe the text, try other fonts, and it is also too bold for my liking. Overall, good job, looks really good. -
At car shows like these, all the companies allways showcase some awesome futuristic cars, they have been doing that since years ago, I have yet to see one of those futuristic cars on the streets, maybe they are too expensive :S

THen if Perl is that awesome, why isnt it as popular as php, java or .net?? All this time, I had though perl was sort of like an unpopular or old server side scripting language, but I guess not, thanks for sharing this info.

I find it really funny how the mathematicians got pissed off about not being able to solve a simple math problem. What I find really interesting about this guy is that he ended up as a lawyer when deep inside he was a mathematician, which is problably what made other mathematicians get angry, how could a lawyer beat them to some problems? maybe being a lawyer was boring for him so he did that while he was distracted or bored.

Yeah, I also though aikido had to do with swords. I remember this really really old game, I think it was in the nes, and the fighters had swords. Thats why I also thought aikido was a martial art with swords

Computer Screw Wont Come Out =( Help me get this screw out please
FLaKes replied to FLaKes's topic in Hardware Workshop
Hey guys, sorry for the slow update, but it took me a while to find some free time to be able to open up the laptop to take a picture of it, actually I was also waiting for a friend to give me back some screwdrivers that I let him borrow. So here are the pictures, as you can see the screw is pretty deformed, I remember really getting frustrated by it. Another friend gave me another interesting idea, he said that I could also use a small knife or something sharp to turn the screw into a flathead screw and use a flathead screwdriver to take it out, what do you guys think? Thanks again for your time and replies -

FLaKes replied to flash4satheesh's topic in Hardware Workshop

Hitachi Plan's To Have A 4 Tb Hard Drive By 2009
FLaKes replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Hardware Workshop
People who work in multimedia could really benefit from these type of drives, they can use it as a backup drive. It will really come in handy and it will also come in handy to the people who dont know how to manage their files I guess. High definition material is just around the corner, higher quality music too. So this type of drive was going to be needed anyways, lets just wait and see. -
I love taco bell, though the tacos here in Mexico are really good, guess I am not getting a free taco then

The Glory Days Of Snes Cant quite describe it...
FLaKes replied to Seidhrith's topic in Computer Gaming
You are not crazy man, its very true. Old video games rocked. Back then the games were amazing because it was not all about the graphics. Game Developers back then did not have much that they could do about the graphics so they concentrated in original and fun gameplay I guess. I also got my snes out the other day and had a great time playing super mario world. Its probably one of the best games for the console. I actually like it a whole lot more than super mario in the gamecube.
