Maybe the word marriage could be changed or something, it could be called partnership, but I guess if there are so much gays and they want to merry each other, I guess if we don't care about those protests, it has a good thing, maybe gays would be more in one place and more commited to each other. As I know gays usually are very inconstant and have a lot of lovers, something like a partnership or marriage might help to prevent that and commit them together? When they will be more commit, maybe even less diseases will spread, like AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases which are popular among gays. They might start using less alcohol and other narcotics as commitment is a good thing, you aren't free to do anything you like. It's a quite hard topic, but it's sometimes better to allow something, to prevent bigger problems.

Yes, I saw different posts about this issues, but none of them helped me, some people said it helped them and Opera works for them as they played with Opera settings, but I remember I spend all my day trying different combinations to make it work and nothing helped, I browsed a lot of topics in My Opera and searched google for similar problems, but I gave up.A fresh install didn't even help for Opera to fix and the biggest problem is that some users says that they don't have any problems and everything works for them, so it's really strange :DFor example this topic: http://forums.opera.com/ I get issues like this too and it's random I try to reload some images, it works only when you open the image and only the image on the browser directly and pres a refresh, go back and now it works, but when you reload the image on the site, it doesn't load... On localhost it seems to work, on other browsers too, so it's not the connection. Argghh, I give up. :DThey optimized so much an I think it's a result of over optimization?

To add my two cents to this topic, I can talk about Internet layers, which may add some more information to this topic to understand what is Ethernet and Internet and maybe Intranet which is something like Internet, but for local network. So Internet protocol suite is made out of layers:Link layerInternet layerTransport layerApplication layerThose layers were created separately, but also together, if with more information from the begining what internet will become, those layers might be different and more secure, but it is like it is.Link layer is the lowest layer, it can be ethernet, dsl or isdn and etc., usually physical things, which connects us to the internet.Internet layer is made out of IP, usually IPv4 or the new IPv6 (is 1995 new?) and through ethernet or any other link layer we get an IP address.Transport layer is the beauty, usually it's an TCP or an UDP protocol connection which connects us, UDP is one hand shake method, usually used for nameservers and some other protocols, the TCP is a protocol made of 3 hand shakes which make a connection from point A to point B.The last layer is Application layer, which includes everything else DNS, FTP, HTTP, IMAP, SSH and Telent and etc. Everything we use on the internet! But the fact remains, that anything you create, you are based on lower layers and it's security, spoofing is done in Transport layer, TCP/IP was fixed to be better, but still this architecture of internet is like it is and everything works through this.To conclude, you can't say Ethernet vs Internet as it's two different things, for example you won't ask DSL vs Internet, won't you?

Sessions are stored on the server, every "user" which gets a session on a server, gets a unique identification on the browser, usually in a form of a cookie. So for sessions to work, you need cookies which stores your session id.PHP sessions are safe, but not as safe as some implementations of user login systems in some products, which use some extra things, but I guess it's much better to start a session and use it for authentication, but for example if you want to make the user be able to stay logged on for a year, you would need to create your own cookie with some kind of identification to that user, like a hashed username and password with salt and maybe even an ip address, it depends what you want, because cookies can be stolen. IF a cookie can be stolen, so a session can be stolen too, but in my opinion for most things PHP sessions are enough. To store information in a session in my opinion is much better than storing everything in a lot of cookies on the client browser which can be spoofed and usually you store information in a cookie with information which isn't very important or in a one way hash which you can only check, but not read and show.

Almost zero! It seems that they talk only on elections, they promise a lot of stuff you know they won't do, particularly they lie and everyone seem to be happy and before elections if they talk something they really want to do, other politicians just say: it's because the elections are coming

Well, it's a preview version and those usually are much slower than the production versions, but also I can add if it's a newer OS version, so it requires a more powerful hardware?

Opera seems to "randomly" work not as excepted for me too, I have similar issues and nothing seems to help, nor reinstalling, nor customizing different options and it all started since Opera 11, I thought Opera 12 would fix those issues, but it seems that it doesn't work randomly as excepted, some websites open normally, some websites seems to not load at all, some websites open half of the content and sometimes even a reload doesn't help, so it's really annoying. I am using Opera for over 7 years and don't know how long I can be with it if it continues to work like that. Seems they've messed something up with optimizing it, due to some sites on localhost works quite fine, when I put it online on Xisto, as it slower to load, it doesn't work as it used to work on localhost, some javascript files doesn't load and so on and with other browsers everything seems to be alright, this issue is only with Opera and I am really fed up with it!So for some websites I just use Chrome, because I don't really like the user interface of Firefox If I want youtube to work better, I need to open it through Chrome and not through Opera, even though until now Opera seems to work quite good with Xisto and Xisto, what a relief? :DWhat is annoying about this, is that it's random! On some computers there is no problem, on some computers it's a pain on the neck and it doesn't depend if it's XP or if it's Windows 7 or if it's Linux, because the problem exists with Opera on Linux too... The content just doesn't load as excepted.

Easiest Way To Build Up Your Website build up your website
Quatrux replied to gates's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes, I agree, one of the easiest ways is to use somekind of a sitebuilder, which works online, like google pages used to work, but a much better solution is just to use a CMS or wordpress which can lso be not just a Blog website, you just need to use some plugins to achieve it.Also, if you don't have a hosting account, you can just use wordpress online and they will host you, just that you don't have so much options as installing it yourself on your own server account. -
Funny :)Anyway, I used to play Call of Duty years ago, but the last version I played I think it was Call of Duty 2 :DSo I don't know how to answer such a serious question, maybe I don't know?

Yes, it needs to be installed on your PC for the synchronization to work, but I use for a long time and don't really have any problems nor on Windows 7, nor on Windows XP, nor on mobile devices.By the way, there's a portable version available of Dropbox.Sure, if you want to share a picture/photo from a library computer or some other public place, you would need to choose some other image hosting service, or if you are not lazy, you can always login to your Dropbox account through the web interface and upload the picture there into your account space and you wouldn't need to use the installed version of Dropbox on your PC, but if you use it, it will sync that uploaded picture on all your devices whenever you will turn on your computer and start Dropbox.Using the web interface, you will be able to share the link of that uploaded photo too.

Also, I've heard that if you want to recover data, you should schedule your computer to defragment, if your hard drive is really full of fragments, you loose the possibility to find your require files after deleting them or after some kind of a crash, that is way it's better to have separate partitions, once for windows and it's programs, the other for permanent files which doesn't move to much or get overwritten by other files. That is why storing your files in My Documents and etc., in C disk is not really recommended, put your own files in a separate partition.

Well, at least in my country, reality shows were really popular a few years ago, now it doesn't seem to be so hot, even though there are a lot of them and in different forms, but most of shows Today in some way on TV are reality shows. So maybe it's still hot, but not as it used to, personally I am getting bored of them, they piss me of, I better watch something else.

PHP sessions work by putting a cookie on your computer with which it identifies you, when you start a session with PHP, you send a cookie for the sessions to identify you and select the correct session which is stored in the server sessions folder, that session will expire depending on the cookie. If cookies are disabled on the browser, PHP use PHPSESID and put it in all the links in your site, whenever you click a link, you also click the session id parameter in the URL and from that string, the PHP sessions identifies you, it's really a quite bad practice, because you can give that link to someone else and it identifies it as if it was you, which is quite a security risk, that is why usually in sessions, the encrypted string encrypts your ip address and checks it, so if you use one IP and the person who spoofed your data and got the cookie or phpsesid won't be able to use it, because he is on a different IP. But that is also annoying, because Today, people use laptops, or mobile devices, they have a changing IP, once they use the Internet in the university, after few hours they use it at home and etc. their IP is changing and they always need to login, because of that all the frameworks have a quite secure mechanism which makes your sessions quite save and that is how you need to use it, PHP sessions algorithm is also using something like that, but when you create your custom login with sending a cookie, you don't use these algorithms if you don't know about them, so be careful.

What Do You Think About Destiny? what do you think about destiny?
Quatrux replied to doctor's topic in General Discussion
I think that destiny is something you can't prove, it seems you can choose to do whatever you want, but you can always say that it was your destiny.I personally believe in destiny, but at the same time I don't believe at it at all! :)Destiny is created by humans and you cannot rely on it -
I personally use Picasa for my pictures and can easily share them from my computer to the Internet. For other images, I am using Dropbox, I just put an image to a public folder, get the hyper link for it and show it where I want it, in a chat or forum, it's a simple link to an image, so it's really good, very convenient, you don't need to upload anything, you just put it in a folder like a file and let the dropbox sync it. You can also use the feature to show a lot of pictures, by using Photos as a gallery and not the public folder. Dropbox is really one of the best tool I am using.

Quite nice, but I think it might be annoying after some time? Imagine we would need to play that game every time we post a topic :DI saw some nice javascript implementations of captcha alternatives, but those kind of things require you to have javascript enabled and/or flash, what about users who use noscript or etc.? Even it's a small percentage, but they're still are users, even though, it's their fault they don't use javascript and don't want to enable it.For example:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ agree that those traditional captcha some times is really annoying, that you a human, sometimes can't even guess or see what you need to write.

Windows 8 is the next move to a new paradigm called NUI (Natural user interface). And Microsoft seems to be pushing it quite seriously, their next OS will be NUI based, a computer like Microsoft Surface seems to the the NUI interface computer, which for now isn't a good computer for home users, but it's interface is really innovative .Remember, the move from CLI to GUI was quite shocking too But for most users of the world, who use the computer just to browse the Internet, listen to music, chat and share, NUI is really the next move for them. :)I myself though, will still use keyboard and mouse for some time, as I use computer for more than chatting and sharing The future will tell.

Best Way To Learn Javascript I would very much like to know.
Quatrux replied to Ayla1405241517's topic in Programming
JavaScript is quite easy to learn, once you get the hang of it, I used to hate it, but as the situation in web has changed dramatically, you need to use a lot of JavaScript these days. It's best to use tutorials and do it yourself, learn it, once you get the hang of javascript, in my opinion it's best to grab some kind of a framework, like jQuery, even though it's not a framework, it's more a javascript library. At first it my look quite hard to learn and understand it, but once you get the hang of it, it's really great and there's a lot of plugins for it you can use. It adds a lot of code to the site, when you include jQuery and a lot of plugins, but it gives you a lot of possibilities to make your site much more interactive. -
Unemployment! World's Fastest-Rising Worry
Quatrux replied to prashansas's topic in General Discussion
To add my two cents, yes you're right, unemployment is really quite high in the world, and it seems that a lot of youth doesn't have a job and it seems that the numbers are rising.Business will need to understand, especially the richest people in the world.. In my opinion they will need to invest into youth and give them some kind of jobs, as youth without jobs might rise in a lot of places and if those few rich people in the world are so mercenary, they will invest their money into this problem in the near future, just to get more money in the further future, if they don't invest, they will loose money globally. An interesting thing, that about 500 richests people hold ~80% of world capital, all the rest people share 20% of capital in the world, I think it's really not a normal situation. Also another interesting thing, that mainly there are ~50 enterprise which holds all the capital in one or another way by other enterprise vendors, all the rest are small enterprise companies, which share a little percent of the world capital and money. So when you imagine these abstract numbers, people used to be slaves and worked for food and bed, the industry understood that a slave isn't effective and that people needs to get a salary for which he could live and could buy food himself, this happened in 19-20 century, now in 21 century, the same industry needs to understand, that people, for more effective work and return of investment needs much more than just a salary to buy food, a flat and a car, they need money to travel and buy a lot of things, they need to consume a lot to keep their capital as big as they have it now, or else all the unemployed youth will start to rebel.About the unemployed youth, as I know, students, schoolchildren and other youth used to work at summer time, they usually did small jobs, got some money and there happy, if they didn't know what to do, they searched for a simple job somewhere. TODAY, they don't, most of them watch TV, play computer games, spend all the sumer playing Warcraft, spend their time with their friends drinking beer or partying, they don't care about simple jobs, they want simple jobs with a lot of money, and the numbers are rising. In USA, the model seems to be to live in a credit, in one way it's good, in other ways it leads to financial crisis, people use more than produce, they buy everything into credit and lives, in other countries there are different models, which is opposite, some people work 10 years and buys something and has no credit, it seems to be good, but those 10 years aren't so nice? Even though, in most parts of the world, people can't buy anything as they are poor.If those 500 rich people would invest into world, I doubt people would die from famine, but it's like that and in my opinion things will change to better days and in one or another way if rich people still want to be rich, they will invest into youth and will try to employ them, or else they will have an army of hungry rebels which can do a lot of harm, the revolution for example in Africa, most of people there young people who were unhappy with the current situation. The situation in Greece, lazy youth are rebellious, they don't want to work, but want to live not according to their financial abilities. They're are used to not be as diligent and moreover, the corruption adds more power to that situation.Any enterprise main goal is to get profit, they will do anything to get profit, some of them don't pay taxes, some of them pay small wages, bigger companies move to China, where labor power is cheap, they search for all possibilities to get more profit, if they could, they wouldn't pay anyone, but with time, all that kind of vendors will fall, enterprise needs to understand that human resources are the heart of any company and they need to respect their employers, especially young people without experience and PROFIT shouldn't be the main goal, I mean it should, but with humanity and respect to their employers. Also, those biggest vendors of the world eats all the small vendors which tries to survive and it seems that monopoly and corruption in a capitalism world is getting to high, some people and some countries and some vendors seem to have no shame at all. -
I even forgot about phpbb, anyone still use it? A lot of forums I visit usually is some kind of other bulletin board system installed as phpbb has a bad name for it's security exploits.

Where I live, we call vegetarians people who don't eat meat, but can drink milk and eat other milk products, like cheese, yogurt, curd and etc. I've heard some vegetarians even can eat some kind of fish, but I doubt they're real vegetarians, why they don't interpret fish as meat? Even though it's alive, so I can't really say, maybe it's just a diet without chicken, pork and etc. :DSo to continue, people who don't consume eggs, milk products and anything what have come from animals, we just call them vegans, they consume only plants, I don't know if it's good or bad, but I wouldn't do it. :PSo there's such a difference I guess between a vegetarian and a vegan? one consumes eggs, milk, the other doesn't? :)Just my few cents.

What? WinXP SP1 doesn't even have a default firewall turned on. To enable it, you need to dwell down into Network Connections->LAN adapter->Properties->Advanced and enable "Protect my computer", but even then, you need skill to configure it, and if you have skill, you don't use such an insecure operating system. Really, do not consider connecting to internet anything less than Windows XP SP3 (Windows 7 is better). Windows XP Service Pack 1 has such a wide range of known exploits, that when you connect it to internet, machine in couple of hours (or couple of days, if you're lucky) becomes part of some botnet. You are not safe, even if you are in LAN, because ancient Internet Explorer on your PC is another security risk. Please reformat your PC and install service pack 3

Could you elaborate your point? Because right now it looks like "bank has you in power when you owe to the bank 100 or 100 million dollars". Or do you mean that "you have bank in your power because you borrowed 100 million from the bank"? ;]

Google Chrome The new web browser from google
Quatrux replied to encryptedwrath's topic in The Internet
It might be "build to be fast", but it's certainly not the fastest. Ok, it has a very fast Javascript engine, various preloading techniques, intelligently renders not completely downloaded content, but if you try it on older generation machines with limited amount of RAM (and by limited, I mean 1GB), after few open tabs you will notice that your computer starts to swap like mad. Currently I have Firefox open with 37 tabs and task manager shows ~700MB usage. When I try the same with Chrome, it uses more than 1.2GB of memory and becomes unresponsive. If you use few open tabs, then it is OK, but under heavy load, it is not the browser of choice. Yes, I know that Firefox is slower to startup with few tabs than Google Chrome, that is why it is good to have an alternative. -
Overclocking N900 is easy. Enable extras-testing in package manager and install Linux kernel for power user and Linux kernel for power user (settings and overclock) from it. Or via command line if you prefer: # apt-get install kernel-power-flasher# apt-get install kernel-power-settings This new kernel comes with enabled greater than Nokia kernel chipset power saving technique called Smart Reflex. It changes voltage dynamically. Now to overclock: # sudo gainroot# kernel-config load dsp# kernel-config limits 500 850# kernel-config save myconfig# kernel-config default myconfig This basically loads new DSP profile, sets frequency limits from 500MHz to 850MHz, saves configuration and sets this as default. Try with various workloads and you should see increase in responsiveness and battery life. BTW, do not worry about minimum 500MHz, device still sleeps at 0, this will just make it respond faster from sleep. PS use kernel-power stable v50 or later!
