  1. yes I usually use google as my search engine, but for some time know I started hating it because it totally does not index my site for half year now, I think i got into blacklist or something so from now on I wil remake make site and hope i will get to google database again and for the search engines, look at this one, found in my statistics: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ looking good, it is stil beta.
  2. well, sql is very easy to learn and understand and it is quite powerful, I think you can just go with mysql which is very easy using with php.
  3. I believe that they exist, there are so much possabilities that a planet like earth formed etc. but aliens does not really need to be smarter than us or something, they might be only smart like monkeys etc. maybe a little more advanced, but anyway what I don't believe is in UFos that they are flying here in earth, imagine one thing if we would be so advanced and would have a space ship and would have found a planet, we would land in public not to the goverment of somekind ? etc. so yeah i believe in aliens, but i don't believe that they already are here among humans.
  4. well for me best is Gentoo, because after the long installation you can understand how linux work, I vote for it because i use it myself, it is much faster when you compile it for your cpu and you can use whatever you want Gnome, KDE and etc. in my opinion the step by step installation tutorial is understandable for anyone with good english and a little bit of knowledge, but I agree that people used to windows won't like the installation process and not to suitable for beginners
  5. I myself started with ubuntu, to get used to linux, because it is quite hard to move from Amiga OS to any other operating system, when I understood a bit how linux works, I installed myself Gentoo, now everything works great, i like it because you need to compile everything yourself and there is a step to step installation tutorial so it was quite easy, just took time. Ubuntu I remember was really easy to install, couple of mouse clicks and thats all, i just had sound problems with it and I think it suits for beginners quite good and if someone does not like gnome, use kubuntu instead.P.SI never used Windows, except for in school, at friends and in libray always had an alternative since 1996
  6. you need to put in in HEAD, anyway most of the browsers will look for the favicon.ico automaticly even if you won't put a link to it, but by default it needs to be in your base directory named favicon.ico, myself I am using gif format for my favourite icons.
  7. here is my results, I also just made a test: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3390 Kbps about 3.4 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 414 kB/s Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Wed Jul 13 2005 13:20:24 GMT+0300 (EET) Bottom Line:: 61X faster than 56K 1MB download in 2.47 sec Diagnosis: 90% + Okay : running at 100 % of your hosts average (vkt.lt) Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/db/LT7Y2PI1B strange the upload test seems not to work very well, so.. but i think it is almost double less than download speed.
