For Windows Vista, you could try running it in compatibility mode, setting it on Windows XP. As for Windows XP, have you checked if there are any patches out for this game? I would suggest you look for that first and also try updating your soundcard drivers.

Looks nice, I looked for this when I just started developing web applications. But now I don't really see the use of this. As you're the only one who'll be able to use the virtual domain name. I just accepted localhost as the domain to use, and it's easy enough.Correct me if I'm wrong, but even though this tutorial is great, the use of virtual domain names on localhost is useless. I used it while I was still a gamer, it's can be quite handy sometimes to talk to people while you're waiting for someone in-game. But for other things like speaking, TeamSpeak and Ventrilo are much better.
