  1. Go ahead and use the Process page to change your domain. It should not have any adverse effect on your hosting. It will take some time to resolve your new sub-domain name, however. The process page is https://support.xisto.com/
  2. I think it's normal to think about suicide--it's a natural course in part of growing up, asking oneself "what does it all mean?" Whether the scientists attributes these thinkings as the biochemistry of the brain firing up electrodes causing it to trigger certain hormonal imbalance or a learned condition which derived from witnessing a social behavior, one thing is clear in that the difference between sane and insane is in the execution.Perhaps your friend is unintentionally seeking an attention of some sort. Affection received from self-pity can be rewarding. And it can be addictive, too. I hava a friend who never has a good thing to say about her life. She likes it when she receives comments like, awww, I'm so sorry to hear that. It is her way of socializing with people around her. I guess this is the only way she knows how to be social or break the ice.Sometimes an action is greater than words. Just being there for that person can make the difference. Carefully monitoring your friend's behavior and make him known that his friendship means a lot to you. Men tend to be more sociable through activites unlike our counter parts--women. I guess we still possess a primitive pack behavior. Confronting head on is less effective than blurting out during a happy hour at a local pub or whatever. Let's face it, we men do not talk about our feelings like Dr. Phil. One thing I'd like to post is that you cannot be the savior to this person. One person does not possess the power to fix everything. Like the winter snow covers the fagile seedling, your friend will face many other crushing defeats in his life time. But when the spring comes and snow melts away, this seedling can survive if the soil is accomodating. Your friend must be able to find his own balance and foundation that defines him. You can help him to find that ground or supply the means of finding one. But you can't watch over him 24/7. Otherwise you too can grow weary and maybe forced to give up.
  3. Where is my mind.. I thought I made the post gamma.xisto.com/info.phpPHP and SQL were upgraded right after the Forum Upgrade (v2.2.1). During which time we suffered 2 days worth of loss on this Forum. This led to many accounts stalling during the forum upgrade duration.I'm sorry if I forgot to mention that. I thought I was doing that but I guess it was over the messenger Sorry, sometimes too many open windows leads to mentioning it on the wrong window.PS you can check all server's PHP version by doing [server_name].xisto.com/info.php
  4. What it should happen when you go to h2.astahost.com/cpanel is this: A blank white background with Windows login pop-up screen shows up. Enter your username and password and the security alert pop-up window shows up. Click on YES, your cPanel would start to load. If your browser redirects bypassing any of the steps above, I believe the security setting for your browser may be too high or disabled. Your browser will redirect to https if Windows login screen is either failed to open or accepted cancel or null value. Try placing http://forums.xisto.com/ as your trusted sites under the browser's security. If you have any firewall running try settings so that it can accept--since I don't know what or which firewall you might have, I'll leave it as an open-ended question.
  5. There was a brief outage with Gamma server for adjusting clusters. Your hosting shows the default index page and I can see your cPanel login again. Firefox, if you are using, seems to be having difficulties in connecting with cPanel these days. I tested with IE and connected by hitting refresh button when it seems bit slow. You can always check for Server/Network status by going to the top of the forum menu, Xisto > Server/Network Status

This plan will reflect as soon as servers are in low load. Thank you. --Xisto, a member of xisto PS a huge thanks to OpaQue for making this possible.
  8. Qupis support forum is located here Qupis Free Hosting Forum A demo of what "one single text ad at the bottom" looks like, visit http://forums.xisto.com/qupis/ And the final word on the bandwidth is: Qupis offers 5 GB bandwidth. The typo will be fixed very soon. Thank you.
  9. Gamma server was experiencing some serious downtime today. I'm not sure if this is due to OpaQue managing server clusters.Looking at the server status and network status, IOTA (strict SQL server) was created to manage database only. Perhaps all Gamma databases were transferring to Iota. If this was true I apologize for your inconvenience. Gamma server looks all green and I am seeing your site even faster than before. I hope that this solves your issue. You can always check the server status with top forum menu, Xisto > Server/Network Status
  10. Alright... annex is back up again. So see if your site is working, because I can see it.
  11. Gamma server may experience more downtime compare to other servers since Gamma is for all Free Web Hosting accounts. However, this refers to SQL downtime for my other account in Gamma did not lose severe downtime hours. I have set up http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (hosted in Gamma server) and you can compare with your "downtime" and this account. If both are down the sure bet is Gamma is down. If only your site is down the problem is elsewhere. It is unknown why a paid customer of Xisto - Web Hosting is residing in Gamma server. Please inquire with Xisto - Web Hosting to see if this is correct. I will make OpaQue know if this situation.
  12. Using your Xisto cPanel, use the Backup to zip and send it over to your new server. The process is very simple and it moves your entire account zipped and FTP to new server. Once it's been FTPed to your new account, access Xisto - Web Hosting cPanel and unzip using FILE MANAGER. Simply unpack to your HOME directory and move PUBLIC_HTML to your public_html folder. If you made any modification to .htaccess file, double check the setting since directory commands are different. Another step is to unpack and move one by one instead of moving the whole public_html folder.Backup and download your database using the same page. And then RESTORE your database using Xisto - Web Hosting's cPanel and choose the file you downloaded from Xisto cPanel. That's it.
  13. When you request for Xisto - Web Hosting please state your server name as well. Please clarify your statement Gamma server is only for Xisto.com accounts. All paid hosting for Xisto - Web Hosting are NOT hosted with Gamma server. Are you commenting on that Gamma used to go down? Or, are you saying that you're still with Gamma server? Downtime cannot be blamed only to Xisto - Web Hosting. Majority downtimes are contributed by attacks to unstablely set database or member trying/testing scripts that puts server to a halt. Your Plan 3S should be hosted with Theta as well. If so, I am also hosted with Theta server and my site almost never went down--once in January 2007 for 1 hour. Few things you can test out--install site monitor and record when your site actually goes down (like sitemeter) and see if it's not your browser being timed out. This can distinguish the difference between "Page Cannot Be Displayed" and 404 or Site Not Found error. I visited your site during the post of this reply and I am able to view your site without a problem. However, using FF2.0 it takes unusually long time to load compare to IE6... I wonder which browser you were using. Let us know and see what can be done to track down the actual issues. Thanks.
  14. It had been made in Xisto dot Net forum (Archive) Since it's Xisto dot NET related topic it's posted under that section. The free instant hosting accounts of Xisto net have been all purged. The ad banner supported accounts have limited support for your account. This is the major difference between Xisto.com Free Web Hosting, No Ads and of the other.
  15. You missed this from serverph Read all responses before taking your action. Go to your cPanel > Hotlink Protection and enter search.themusiconly.info to the list of site that can view your image. If you want to cover all basis enter http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ as well. If you have modified .htaccess to enable hotlink please adjust your .htaccess rewrite accordingly. That will solve your issue.
  16. I'm sorry, I misread the initial post.Using your cPanel, you can move folder or file(s) to wherever you want. The trick is to practice with one file before moving the whole thing. Click the folder/file you want to move and choose MOVE from FILE MANAGER.Using your FTP program you can click and drag folder/file from one place to another. Some FTP programs will act just like your Explorer where you can copy and paste to your desired location. This does not mean you have to download to your local drive.
  17. If you are using cPanel, you can backup your entire directory and FTP to another server using the Backup utility. Consequently, you can do the same with your database--but you have to download the datbase (which is very small) and restore your database using another server's cPanel Backup utility. Is this enough or would you like this in PHP?
  18. Assuming it's the same r.astahost.com, I can see your site and able to log into your cpanel.
  19. Well, a college town like mine depends on good Hockey games and football games. Since it's my town's only chance of seeing a glimpse of glory this year, I would say Go Sabres!!I have high hopes that this season would not be the repeat of the last--going so far to fail at the end. Sabres' players are young and most of them are out of injury status. Well, they have to win otherwise I'll be facing more road rage HA HA HA. You have no idea the mood changes these sports can bring to my town. You can cut the tension with a 10ft long stick. I guess coming from a huge city I never knew the effect on the local sports on the local town.
  20. When you read a topic next time, notice the new profile information under a member's avatar. It will show as:Member name<avatar>Profile titleGroup iconGroup:Posts:Joined:From:Member No.:T17 GFX Crew (or Spam Patrol)This new custom field was added to the topic view to enhance the awareness of T17 GFX Crew. For moderators and administrators we will be able to see hosted member's cPanel username as well. No other members can see this value, not even their own. This can cut down crucial delay time when members are request for hosting support. Instead of "what's your cPanel name" or trying to search the information from the profile, at a glance we can test the site by gamma.xisto.com/~cpanelname and such. And I no longer have to wait 1~2 days before a member can get back to me via PM, due to the sensitive nature of the information.I hope you find this little addition to be fun and exciting. :PThe next step would be considering a small banner instead of the text "T17 GFX Crew." But this will have to wait until I check out the CPU load.
  21. Reading our forum rules and hosting rules would be your first step. Please refer to Xisto Readme in my signature.
  22. The reason is you're accessing cPanel using https. It's regular http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ where "site" is your domain name. You must click "yes" to security certificate message window.
  23. It wasn't about your posting count. This forum, unlike Xisto, demands higher quality contribution. However, you have yet to demonstrate that you have fully understood the foum rules, especially about double posting (forgot to use the EDIT button?).Your post quality and subject must be to this forum's standard.
  24. Review Xisto Readme and know how your hosting accout is treated when it's suspended. After achieving 4 credits, wait about 1 hour for un-suspend script to bring your hosting account back to working condition. This has been covered so many times on the forum and it says in bold red, in your hosting credit box (main forum page).Thank you.
  25. I too was in a similar position few years ago... and I found a simple solution of using CuteNews http://cutephp.com/ . CuteNews does not use SQL and the easy integration to any web page makes it ideal for beginning CMS (in your case you can use it as a blog). CuteNews will give you a code to insert into your page, i.e. <?PHPinclude "yourdirectory/folder/shownews.php";?> Just insert that code to the area you designated and save the page as .php extension. That's it, really. The program will automatically insert articles saved using CuteNews main interface. Now, you can select categories, number of articles per page or which "skin" or template to use...etc. For an example of how CuteNews is used as CMS, visit http://gfxtrap.com/ and see the main content shown by CuteNews. The second is to use RSS within your page. WordPress spits out RSS to all your entries. There are programs free to convert RSS data to HTML page. A simple point to the right program can show RSS coming off of your WordPress (or other blog script with RSS feature) to show as HTML in your web page. An example of RSS translated to HTML can be viewed here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This is just an example that RSS (a XML data really) can be interpreted to HTML page.
