Great idea here. If she is feeling uncomfortable for any reason, offering a neutral area will help a lot. Take the pressure off and it makes everyone feel better. Let things go as they may. You can also add others into your little "get away" as that often helps as well. For example, invite her to bring a friend, and you bring one. Just by having someone she is close to with her will help relieve discomfort.

Generally, you can just Google for freelance writing jobs. The best way to get jobs though would be via word-of-mouth. If you're good at what you do, people will talk, and that is your biggest sales pitch by itself. You can also start your own site and use that (or other writing of yours) to help show people what you've done in the past. Many people, like myself, require multiple written pieces before we'll even consider taking someone on. This is because it helps ensure we're not wasting each other's time.

Scientisis Manage To Find Their "holy Grail"
rpgsearcherz replied to ritu's topic in Science and Technology
I think I've heard of similar things. Basically life has multiple different forms. Some of which are thermophiles, for example, and love extreme heat. Some like highly acidic areas, some are anaerobic (don't need oxygen at all), etc. And these are all on earth! So the idea that there are even larger extremes and/or other types we just haven't discovered isn't far-fetched. Scientists say we've still only discovered a very small fraction of the life on our own planet. If we still haven't even covered our own yet, I see no reason to think other planets wouldn't have similar things. -
"I'm an adult so you have to respect me?" Really? Respect is earned, not given by default. Despite your age, if you are under their roof you abide by their rules. If you moved into a house your FRIEND owned, would you not expect him to have control over what you can and can not do? You have the choice to move out if you don't like the rules. If you don't do so, that's your own choice. You really can't be mad at someone else because of a decision YOU are choosing to make.

I'm seeing that you have 67.15 now. Your MyCents won't update instantly; they are updated on a manually run script. Sometimes this can take a few days to properly update all the values. Just keep consistent and you shouldn't have any problems.- 9 replies

While I do agree with this, to a point, I also believe that those reasons are just a small part of why we've been doing space exploration. It's more along the lines of learning more about ourselves. Learning about the possibility of other life, learning why things work the way they do, seeing new and previously unseen things, etc. Other things, such as satellites, come as a result of the true goal: exploration and knowledge. So while we definitely would not have these things without going into space, they are more like secondary benefits.

Does The Way You Dress Reflects Your Character?
rpgsearcherz replied to ritu's topic in General Discussion
Different people wear different clothing for different reasons. Notice a trend there? Everyone is different. Some may, for example, wear things that other's don't just to set themselves apart so they can be noticed. Others may do it so they can start a new trend. Others many do it because they just don't care. There are many different cases like this (such as replicating someone else's style), and everyone does it for different reasons. So to answer the question as to whether or not it is a sign of one's "character," I guess I have to go with "yes." While the answer as to HOW it shows someone's character remains unknown, the styles in and of themselves are definitely a representation. Even if people don't care what they wear, that's still a personality (character) trait of that person. -
Scientisis Manage To Find Their "holy Grail"

I don't really follow the theory that a planet has to be like earth for live to grow on it. While I see where people come up with that assumption, who's to say that "alien" life, should it exist, doesn't have the capability to live without water and oxygen? For all we know, there could be a thermophilic alien race living on the sun. -
I think he's talking about a different "bible." As far as I know, Leviathan was from the eastern part of the world (Korea, I guess). I don't remember exactly but I remember looking a bit into the names like that and Shiva since they were in Final Fantasy VII. Guess games do teach us after all... But for sure, they are part of a religion.

This is a bit odd then. I had made a thread about related issues prior (low mycents for posts) but found that after I hadn't posted for a few days it had calculated my first dollar. And then a few days later it calculated more posts and gave more credit. And then a few more it did a final re-calculation. Each of these three times it calculated only a fraction of the new posts, which is where my issue was coming from. But that leads to another question... does the system not read all new posts at once?

The Importance Of Website In The 21St Century
rpgsearcherz replied to ritu's topic in Science and Technology
I completely agree that websites are pretty much a necessity these days, especially when you consider that there are a lot of things they can do to help (other than what you posted):1) Give users a better idea of company "branding" -- some people trust companies with websites more than those without2) Can be used for leads (allow people to contact you any time, even for things like local service)3) Ways to offer "more" to the customer in the form of informational posts, along with the ability to upsell -
New Versions Of Firefox Will Have Video Chat In Themselves
rpgsearcherz replied to darko100's topic in The Internet
Depending on how it's handled it may increase cpu and/or RAM usage, slowing down the overall system when it's in heavy use. I run 2 monitors and always have a lot of stuff up, lol. Usually 30-35 browsers. -
Would You Ever Used A 'hosted Desktop'?
rpgsearcherz replied to zanzibarjones's topic in Science and Technology
I think cloud computing systems have uses in some cases, but in many others it doesn't. As a direct example, take gaming. For us to game on a "hosted OS" we'd have to keep streaming it, which really isn't feasible for people with slower internet connections (and can't always be resolved without moving to a new house).I also don't like the idea of using them for important private files, being that they can be hacked and you can leak confidential information. While I can see the positive benefit of using them as a backup, you can also back up things on your own.The time I could see this being useful is, as someone else stated, in situations where you need to collaborate with others. Design work, programming, etc. would all go great with this. But for anything personal-based, I am 100% against it. -
New Versions Of Firefox Will Have Video Chat In Themselves
rpgsearcherz replied to darko100's topic in The Internet
It's interesting that they'll be adding this but you hit on one of the main concerns: whether or not it will slow down the browser. One can only guess so, being that they're going to be increasing the overhead with the addition (much like extensions do).I hope that it's not really a "integrated" solution but that there's an option as to whether or not you want it. I really don't have use for it (unless it will be used for all videos, such as Youtube) and therefore don't need the overhead, whether it be in increased client sizes, increased load times, etc. -
You'll need to give a lot more information than that. The first step is knowing what your PC's stats are, as well as what video card and OS you're using.

Hey guys. Welcome! Hopefully you enjoy it enough to stick around! There's a lot you can learn and teach, so we all benefit from having more members, .

I think this would be the biggest factor by itself. You're absolutely right - most people now want things they can see. There are some people who still like text-based games because they allow you to use your own imagination, but those people are so rare now that creating a true MMO of any type with them would be tough.

What's The Best Site For Flash Games?
rpgsearcherz replied to paulmason411's topic in Computer Gaming
I'll put in a vote for MochiGames. They pay developers of games as well so they are usually of higher quality just because more experienced programmers post their games there. -
I think you might be better off looking into a place that deals with that script directly (or even check out Xisto). Most of us here just deal with general questions and what you're asking for is quite a bit of work (and would require learning the script you're dealing with for integration). As a result, looking for alternate resources would probably be your best bet - I'm positive someone has already done what you're looking for in the past.

Are we all being transferred to Gamma? .And are there any benefits to this other than being on newer hardware? (ex. more RAM, better CPU, etc. or are the new servers pretty much the same setup as the old ones?)

I'm going to venture out and say that as a writer, I really don't like their site. Not to be rude, but their writing isn't proper and even their main page contains multiple errors. As a result, I have the feeling that following their "guides" may very well lead to problematic writing.

lol, the Angry Birds thing has become a *huge* fad. All the games are the same but with different "looks" attached to them. I personally don't find them too much fun though, .

I checked out the Rainymood site using my headphones and I have to say, it really does have an effect. When you can drown out all outside noise (TV, others talking, animals, etc.) you can really immerse yourself.I've been using the site pretty much since my last post, whether I'm sitting here reading, writing or studying. And I seem to be able to concentrate significantly better and I feel a lot better as well.I will say, though, that sometimes it makes me shiver as if I'm really outside in the rain, .
