One reason I can think of is the cable mess. Right now I have about 10 cables on my desk, and it's really annoying. Two cables less would be a bless (and it rhymes!). However, if it's a lap top, then I don't really see any use. Unless you hate cables completely

True, true. Now I'm very careful and am upgrading my software. Hacking some accounts when necessary, but very careful with logs. No matter how hard the game is, I like it. It's real and everyone can get hacked.I wonder, what will happen with logs and files on NPCes when a lot of players start playing. That will be such a mess. And it should be "dial-up", not "Dail-up"

Where is that exactly, because I can't seem to find it. I know that until version 2.0.0 that wasn't possible, bey maybe it's a new feature.

In the spirit of the World Championship currently running, Eurosport has released an interesting and catchy, yet simple online text-based game. The point is to buy and sell shares of the available team, which are those playing in the Championship. The value depends on the buying/selling of those actions, as well as the results of real matches. Every player starts with 100,000 [insert currency here]. With that money you can buy shares, and hope that their value will increase, so you could sell them and earn something. Currently I'm wainting for the outcome of the England vs. Trinidad & Tobago. I bought many England shares, and I am selling them as soon their value increases. It probably will, because they are sure to win the match. After that, with the money I earned, I'll buy Ukraine shares, which are currently extremelly cheap, since they lost. However, they should win the next match, so their value will increase. Try the game, you won't regret it. World Cup Game 2006

The username and the display name are connected, or better to say, they are always the same. Regular users cannot change their usernames, but administrators can. So, send a PM to one of the admins and ask them nicely to change your username

How To Let Google See My Website Can someone explain me this?
pyost replied to luizzeross's topic in General Discussion
It doesn't really have anything to do with META tags. Google sends little robots all the time to search the web. There is no way to speed that process up. Just wait. -
I am not really into those things, but according to the web site, some fo the supported things are TCL, JSP, SSH.
-
Do you realise that you have just registered at a host the offers JSP? I advise you to read all the necessary documentation (forum rules, faq etc.) and then start posting in order to gain credits and apply for hosting. Good luck!

Well, what's the point of giving anything free? Google is well-known for its free services, and I doubt it will change that policy. I believe NASA has a similar piece of software like Google Earth, but it much bigger (maybe 100MB, not sure) and therefore it's not practical. Everything that Google offers only attracts users - and that's what they need.

One of the most popular Google programs, and maybe one of the most dangerous, Google Earth, is getting a new version. What's more, this time it is released for all supported operating system simultaneously. You can download it here. Besides various OS support, it is also multilingual with French, German, Spanish and Italian now supported. Also, these countries are now more detailed in Google Earth and advanced search is now available. Next, Google has increased the percentage of the land covered with high resolution images. It is now 20%, whereas the other 80% aren't that high quality. According to Google Blog, it is very detailed. And the reason for all these improvements is actually quite simple. Google Earth is soon celebrating it's one year of existence! For more details, visit Google Earth.

MSN "Thank You For Using" And Sharing AN MSN virus ?
pyost replied to yordan's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Well, it probably is some kind of a virus, since it shouldn't be there. But I wouldn't be so worried. MSN is dumb and exploitable (as everything is), but there are no real threats that I know of. What can I say, switch to GoogleTalk It's probably one of those gags that should make you really scared. -
I didn't want to open a new topic, but you (or I) have some problems with the forum. I just can't access it. I just keep getting "Read Access Denied" and it says I need to login. However, on the same page, on the bottom, I have "Logged in as: pyost". I don't know if anyone else has these problems, but that should be fixed ASAP.

Ask.Com Is Better Than Google In My Opinion
pyost replied to PublicThinker's topic in Search Engines
Not all will understand what you are talking about, since you mentioned this search engine only in the title. So, we're talking about http://de.ask.com/?o=312&l=dir To start with, the search engine does look nice, unlike Yahoo, which is too clutered. On that side, it is equal with Google. However, it's search result aren't as good as Google's are. When I searched for "Coldplay Serbia", I expected my web site to be on the first page. Google does show it on the first page, but Ask doesn't. I got a few other sites linking to mine, as well as a site that doesn't exist anymore, and was on my site's subdomain. I think that's a major flaw. If a web site is gone for more than two months, why would it still be in the results? -
A Particular Royalty Free Image Required splat
pyost replied to Vyoma's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I doubt it, since I googled it out. Here's the page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ To be honest, this splat isn't that good, a better one could definitely be found. A 3D one would also be nice -
There is a simple way of solving this problem. Create 3 new CSS elements and set their width to the sidebar width. Also, two of them should have a fixed height, too. Here's why - this way you can make the sidebar out of 3 parts, where the first and the last would be on the top/bottom and have the rounded image as their background. As for the middle one, it would be for content. The same should do for the main column. However, I warn you, I'm not that good at CSS and there is a big chance that this won't work or will not work in (stupid) Internet Explorer.

We might be impressed by this, but 80 percent of the computer users doesn't need this. Most programmes and games run really well on ordinary processors. Not only that, but this new Intel Core 2 Duo will most positively be VERY expensive. While it goes out something new will already be on the way and we will never be satisfied.
