Group Icons For Astahost Its one of the interesting components missing
pyost replied to iGuest's topic in General Discussion
Too complicated, I bet m^e will come and /slap you for that Just kidding, I like them very much. I rarely see animated group icons, so this would be a nice change -
The Hacker's Google A template for the SE - can you read it?
pyost replied to cyborgxxi's topic in Search Engines
Anyhow, for the hacker's google, another way to access it is by visiting this address: http://www.600673.com/ -
I don't thing kiyul4130 visits the board any more I wonder, how many people make 10 posts and then apply, without even knowing that they need 10 credits? Even if they don't, they will probably get accepted if their posts were good

As far as I can see, this way you won't get anywhere. I suggest you find an article called "QBasic for kids by Ted Felix". Really useful stuff - that way you will start with the basics, because you can't expect to make a good and useful program in one week. Learning programming takes months, ages! And don't be disappointed because it says "for kids". I'd rather call it "for beginners"

Good of you to notice that. If you want visitors from other countries to understand your web site, you ought to change that. You could use Babelfish nevertheless, but at least make the flags point to the translated versions, and not Babelfish hompage. It's not professional. Also, the site looks a bit old. I don't know when did you make it, but better images and good use of CSS could improve the overall look very much. Take a look at some similar sites to see why they are good. You might learn something useful from them.

I think it is not possible, because that way people could abuse it. You would be able to register two accounts and maintain your account more easily

You can easily make these BBCodes if you know CSS. It is possible to do from the IPB admin panel. As for the notice BBCode, I believe that its code is available for download at AntiLost.org. The highlited text is soooooo easy to make. Just create a CSS class that has a yellow background and then use it for the BBCode. The last one might be the most challengin one, but try, you won't get hurt

I replaced this: <MainPage><Blogger>---------------------</Blogger></MainPage><ItemPage><Blogger>---------------------</Blogger></ItemPage> with this: <Blogger><MainPage>---------------------</MainPage><ItemPage>---------------------</ItemPage></Blogger> Heh..

If I posted in the wrong forum, please forgive me I had troubles determinating where to put this. Anyhow, I have recently started a blog at blogger.com (actually it's blogspot.com). One of the main things I didn't like was the archive page. It showed whole posts, and I wanted it to show titles as links only. So I found a hack, and did everything as it said, but now I have problems. Blogger has codes to determine which page will use that part of the code. In order to define the archive page, I used the following code: <ArchivePage><Blogger><div id="archive-page"><BlogItemTitle><a href="<$BlogItemPermalinkURL$>"><$BlogItemTitle$></a><br /></BlogItemTitle></div></Blogger></ArchivePage> And I had to modify the main part, between <blogger> and </blogger> tags. It had to be copied, so the first one would be for the main page (<mainpage>) and the other one for item pages (<itempage>). But that isn't working. This is a part of that code: <MainPage><Blogger> <BlogDateHeader> <h2 class="date-header"><$BlogDateHeaderDate$></h2> </BlogDateHeader> <!-- Begin .post --> <div class="post">...................................... </div> </ItemPage> <!-- End #comments --></Blogger></MainPage><ItemPage><Blogger> <BlogDateHeader> <h2 class="date-header"><$BlogDateHeaderDate$></h2> </BlogDateHeader> <!-- Begin .post --> <div class="post">................................... </div> </ItemPage> <!-- End #comments --></Blogger></ItemPage> The first and the second half are the same, except for the <MainPage> and <ItemPage> Now, that should be working, but it isn't. The item pages don't display any content, but the blogger code itself. To see what I'm talking about, check out this link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I'm not sure what I amd doing wrong, so any help is appriciated.

I started off with Mambo, but quit really fast, because they started to charge you for using it. A few people from their team quit their jobs because of that and made a new CMS, very similar to Mambo, but free. It is called Joomla! and it's the only one I use

Yeah, that's BarcElona. Anyway, the game was really great and full of surprises. Arsenal played with 10 players, but they did score the first goal. I think it was near the end of the first half-time. It remained 0:1 until the 70th minute or so, when Eto'o scored a wonderful goal, so it became 1:1. 5 minutes later Barcelona scored one more time and then they just kept the ball with themselves. Quality football

This Is The Best Free Webhosting! This is better than the best.
pyost replied to iGuest's topic in General Discussion
All that space is making me dizzy Even though many people must be impressed by this offer, I find it repulsive. Why? Well, you see, if I moved to that host, I would probably have a lot problems synchronizing everything. What's more important, I wouldn't benefit at all, since I'm only using 40MB out of 150MB here at Xisto. That goes for the BW, too. Then again, Xisto requires posting, whereas this one doesn't. But think of all the people that would register there and use a lot of space. How would the host afford it? Sooner or later they would require you to pay or something. Xisto has a great system, and they are able to maintain it because there are only 103 hosted members! People find it difficult to post, so they quit. However, I enjoy posting, because I've noticed that my post quality has improved a lot since I started posting here. So it's not just a hosting service, it also makes people write quality posts.Thank you for your time -
Oh, and I forgot to mention Garfield I am subscribed to AcraMax, and therefore I receive a new Garfield comic every day. The moment Jim Davis draws the comic, I get it. It is also very funny, one of the funniest short comics (1 or 3 lines, depends). They don't spam you are anything, so I suggest subscribing if you are up for a good laugh

If you were an expert when it comes to FTPing stuff and dealing with hosting, I would go with WordPress. It is a great software and has a lot of options, plus you can add numerous hacks. On the other hand, if you are just interested in usual blogging, use Blogger. Easy to configure and use, and, if you want it customized, you can always edit a template.I consider myself well-informed, or at least informed enough to be able to use WordPress. However, I have a Blogger account, too. Sometimes I just find it annoying to go into details. That's when I turn to Blogger - it makes life easier

Where To Find Free Hosting & Domain/Subdomain
pyost replied to Arianu's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Just to get things moving: Arianu, a great, free web host is http://forums.xisto.com/. Try that one.I don't find it hard to believe that he didn't know this is a host. Even though there are many signs, maybe he accidentaly found this forum and decided to ask for help Be nice to people, and people will be nice to you -
I have solved this one long ago, when I was 12. I took me about twenty minutes, and it's not that hard if you know how to organize yourself. Moreover, this riddle has been repeated so many times that I know the answer by heart. The answer is: The German Of course, that is unless you have changed it somehow

Also, most of the files, when open in Notepad, have some prefix at the biginning of the code. For example, if you see PK, it is zip; MZ is exe; ÿØÿà is jpg etc. I said most because even these aren't always like this. I don't know about music files, but I guess they would have some prefixes, too.

Here's an interesting one concerning 1337 - https://www.google.com/?hl=xx-hacker&gws_rd=ssl

Another thing that makes the search engines good - they don't filter out web sites. If they were blocked, we would probably have trouble when searching for something, and some good web sites might be blocked, too. Google crawls everything, and it's impossible for the spiders to know wheater the web site is malicious. And, of course, you will probably find a normal web site, unless you are searching for something illigal or similar.

Google Is Releasing 4 New Products
pyost replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I like the Google Trends feature, very interesting to see what's happining in the world. Somewhat it is similar to GoogleFight, which I'm sure you've heard of. However, GoogleFight gives you the number of results, whereas GoogleTrends gives you what people have been searching for more. Here's something I tried. I compared words "coldplay" and "radiohead" to see what are the results. Coldplay became popular in the year 2003, maybe a bit later, while Radiohead is an old and popular band. The graph showed me that until the second half of 2004. these two words have been google equally. However, after that, Coldplay became much more popular - which is according to its musical popularity :DReally good tool, but as someone already said, we, normal users, don't really need it. -
For the last 3 (or maybe more) years I have been using one of the most simple mice Logitech has. After checking their web site, I have found that it is a Logitech® Mini Optical Mouse. It is really comfortable, even though it doesn't look so special. I have never had problems with it, always worked perfectly for me. Unfortunately, it is not very good for games, if you are a hard core gamer, because sometimes it tends to shake the cursos. I guess that's the only flaw I am aware of.

Need Help In Blending In The Old Asta Logo
pyost replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Oh, you shouldn't have deleted yours Let's just say I've messed with IPB logos many times, so I knew what to do. -
Just don't tell me you don't have a backup If you do, just re-upload the pics, since the links are still here - "Group Icon" is the alt text.
