  3. Food for thought.. Michael Jordan preferred Adidas his whole life.. But Adidas didnt want to pay for his contract the way Nike did. So he sold himself to nike. Thats not to say Nike has not done a good job for him. But, whatever one prefers
  4. USE EBAY!!!!Gamestop wanted to give me like $70 for my old PSP and a few games, I sold them on eBay and I made about $150. Then I sold my DS Lite with a few games on eBay for $120. Gamestop would have given me maybe $30-50. I just recently sold 4 more DS games for $20, Gamestop would have given me like $5 considering they were mostly 2007 games. Say you pre-order, then you play it once or just take the seal off and dont play it at all. Gamestop will now give you at the most $10 but probably $7. Then the worst part is they will wrap it up all nice and put it in there top quality used game section and somebody will pay like $50 (if the game originally cost $60) for the game they just bought from you for $7. USE EBAY, YOU MAKE SO MUCH MORE MONEY!! (EB and Gamestop are the same company just different names)

  6. If you guys are looking to load a new page with php.. I would suggest just using java. i.e.: if ($variable == "something"){echo("<a href=\"someurl\">Click Here</a>");echo("<script><!--location.replace(\"someurl\");--></script>");} The first echo there in case java is disabled on a user's browser

  8. You're right that in harvest moon you play the story. All games do that. You play the story of the character. But then if you want a game to be called RPG it have got to have a story like a real movie. There should be things like suspense, drama, action, climaxes, etc. Not like Harvest moon where the things you do would just be to make your farm better. And every year you keep on doing the same thing... What else is there other than getting money in the game. Just like a normal life. Boring...

  10. I'm currently going through the worst heartbreak of my life and I have no idea how it's going to end. We've almost hit 3 years and we've been through a lot these past 3 years and it's not the first time i've felt this way, but I don't think its ever hurt as much as it does right now.We were bestfriends, lovers and we had our lives planned out! we met over myspace and the first time we met up is still so memorable! We clicked like magic it honestly was the best feeling of my life. we had a few speed humps then but we ended up together and we both agreed that it was special, that we fell in love so fast.We had a lot of issues over a 3 year period, 4 rumours that he cheated, one that i did, one guy that kept asking me out, his friends hitting on me, parental issues, but we made it past all that.then lately I feel like i've been pushed away and I had to ask if there was someone else, if someone was about to come in and take my place and it completely blew up, yelling, swearing, the works.I was bawling my eyes out and all he did was turn his back on me. May I add that this was the person that I depended on, that was always there for me and i was always there for him and i couldn't breath, this guy that i am so in love with turned his back on me like i was a piece of *BLEEP*.Well we haven't spoken since that went down (was only yesterday) but now all our pictures on his facebook have been deleted, and it felt like the wind got taken out of me when i noticed. I just don't know what's happening. It's valentines day tomorrow and I have something very special planned for him that I spent a fair amount of money on and It might not even happen.I'm dying inside.
  11. People from all over the globe replied to this. I hope you all realize that this conversation would not be possible if everyone here didn't speak the same language
  12. I just installed WAMP 2.2 on Win 7, explorer 8, and haven't had any trouble so far. Today I decided since I've had nothing but trouble with Joomla 2.5 (keep getting locked out after working on Global Config, and end up re-installing) I would install it locally on WAMP to see if I could figure out what was going wrong. I followed directions exactly, got to the first page, language, and no farther. Clicking on the little yellow exclamation point in the bottom left of my browser brings up the following error messages. I've tried a clean install, shutting down WAMP and restarting it, changing languages, all to no avail. Any ideas? Is Joomla 2.5 perhaps not compatible with the newest WAMP package? I purposely downloaded the 32 bit package since 32-bit seems more compatible with half the stuff I run. (My old computer eyes cannot read the security check! I am going to try the 3rd time now...) 13. Hello. I have tried for two days to get this working, but I can't quite do it. Please help. You can log into the site I want to get info from by going to this URL: website.ord It then redirects you to the home page (https://www.website.com/) This is the code I am using: <?php// INIT CURL$ch = curl_init();// SET URL FOR THE POST FORM LOGINcurl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'https://http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/;);// ENABLE HTTP POSTcurl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);// SET POST PARAMETERS : FORM VALUES FOR EACH FIELDcurl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, 'username=admin@othersite.com&password=123password');// IMITATE CLASSIC BROWSER'S BEHAVIOUR : HANDLE COOKIEScurl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, 'cookie.txt');# Setting CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER variable to 1 will force cURL# not to print out the results of its query.# Instead, it will return the results as a string return value# from curl_exec() instead of the usual true/false.curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);// EXECUTE 1st REQUEST (FORM LOGIN)$store = curl_exec ($ch);echo "store: " . $store . "<br />";// SET FILE TO DOWNLOADcurl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/;);// EXECUTE 2nd REQUEST (FILE DOWNLOAD)$content = curl_exec ($ch);echo "content: " . $content . "<br />";// CLOSE CURLcurl_close ($ch);?> The result is just a blank page (or store: content: with my 'echo's in the code). Any help appreciated! Thanks

  23. I have been on a few other sites that are dedicated to arguing over which highly popular animated comedy- south park or family guy- is funnier? I have seen all episodes of both series as well as their specials and or movies, and I have loved them over any other comedy programs for practically the same reasons. They are ridiculous, satirical, crude, relevant, and witty. They both mock all reaches of religion, race, class, and political ideologies without hesitation or limits, as well as any other contemporary piece of American life that they can repackage and turn into a joke. This makes it clear that the writers of such shows have no real beefs with anyone, they pretty much just poke fun at anyone or anything that makes it an easy target. South park often does this more directly and cruelly than family guy, who tends to interpert their victims into their delightfully wacky and farfetched plot. Even though south park shares this love of potty humour and silly bumbling characters, one can watch a few episodes of south park and realize that its stories pack much more intellect behind it than family guy typically does. I am not denying that trey parker, matt stone and seth Mcfarlene are all exceedingly intelligent and good at what they do, and this is why I believe these comedy masterminds will never be able to outdo one another, and thats just fine. South park likes to stick a little insightful life lesson in its episodes, while family guy is happy to just get as many laughs possible with as many random yet equally humorous quips and puns. Both shows are consistently funny and, while many seem to think that??these shows are past their primes, I believe that both shows are successfully continuing to be unrelentingly bold and fresh in the ways they find clever and ironic ways to blatantly make fun of...well... whatever they want.
  24. Although I agree with your opinion, your pros and cons are absurd. A child has an undeveloped mind, too undeveloped to think that killing is normal. I don't think it will scar the child for life, (unless the child has a sort of mental illness) of course not. Children that have parents who can tell the limit of how far to go when it comes to violent video games or video games in general are those who should be able to play them, but parents who can't limit their children re also those who we have no right to control until it's too late. Shop keepers have begun to stop asking for IDs, so 10 year old children can purchase video games that are high over their level. The violent video game contreversy has progressed to a control question in which we have to think about who will control children who can't control themselves or don't have parents to control for them. Another question that comes up is what about the parents who can't say no to their child? As absurd of an idea this may seem, think about it. If a mom has been noticing how well their son has been doing in school and the child has continually been asking for Grand Theft Auto, what's stopping them from buying the game for their beloved child? Aside from the control issue that the parent is most likely not going to address, nothing. Many parents may be protective of these statements, but think about it. If your child wanted a new toy would you get it for them? Probably. If your child wanted Manslaughter would you get it for them? Right now you may say no, but later your opinion might be different. If you have gone through this and resisted, kudos to you and in your personal case I take it all back, but in many parent''s cases, they would buy it for their child. Other parents may put no thought into that answer whatsoever but figure it's just another cute game or fad. It'll go over soon. A small percentage also deserves to be addressed, those who choose to not even look at the material, but just introduce it to their children. These are the types of parents who scare me. Those who don't look at it themselves but instead give it to their children for no particular reason except because the game is accessible. The child sees the content you don't...Those are the ones who scare me.What it comes down to is self control. Some children can control themselves, and some can't those who can't may mask that they can't handle it and that's when the parents have to take on their biggest challenge and see through their child. Those parents have to say 'no' no matter what emotions may battle them because that would be an emotional battle they'd have to win. Saying 'no' is something that all parents have to do in many situations and they are not alone. If your child plays violent video games excessively, try to calm the addiction although a little won't hurt them. It's candy, don't overdo it, guys.
