"A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart" This has just happened to my computer recently, it is having problems starting up. It can take up to several hours before I successfully turn my computer on. I am running windows xp sp3. And that error pops up. This has never occurred to me before and I have read the posts above. I believe he will. I'm guessing were not discussing the fact that he exist so... I believe human kind is rapidly losing their spirituality and destroying each other God must be sad to see humans causing each other so much pain. Not only on a global basis but on a small scale think about high school how certain groups exclude each other think about how different ethnic groups are split up. Think how furious God must be at the atheist that deny his existence (Their creator). More and more people are turning away from him. God wanted humans to bring glory to him but they our disrespecting him think to the testaments thou is not to disrespect their parents (something along those lines). Who is our celestial parent God. Not only that people our doubting what HE can do and limiting their minds to one dimension. He may just say enough is enough and finish us off. Or someother celestial being may come and God may just allow him to do it. We often forget that we were not the first beings he created nor the second most powerfull so how would angels feel about humanity getting the glory especially now. Humans may be intelligent but compared to celesstial beings we have the spiritual intelligence of a infant. I have a fear of wearing a seat belt. I feel trapped and I am terrified of water. I can't swim. I don't want to burn up. I would rather be thrown out of a car and take my chances than to trust a seatbelt. I know it is the law, but I have even had a police officer tell me in some cases seat belts can cause more problems than they help. If I was not able to move and it went into water or caught on fire, I would suffer a terrible death. What if a baby was strapped in a baby seat and the driver was not able to help them, they would burn up or drown in the water. Please tell me if I am crazy for feeling this way. I was a mother in the 60's and my kids jumped all over the car, stuck their heads out the window, rode on the back of a truck. I think seat belts are over rated. The car companies charge more for the seat belts, car seats for kids is another way for someone to make money, and the cops get to give you a ticket if they stop you and you don't have on a seatbelt. Problem turning on computerCompaq Presario OverheatingI have a Compaq pentium III that is borrowed. It has been working fine for weeks. I put it up for a week and a half and now that I am trying to use it again it won't turn on? When I hold the on button down the light come on the laptop but then a light to the right of the group of lights blinks then all lights go off and nothing starts up? Then it just repeats on its own. The light come on for a second, the light to the right in the group of lights comes on then all lights turn off... What is going on?

I have a Compaq pentium III that I borrowed from someone. It has been working fine for a few weeks. Avira over AVGLightweight Free Anti Virus Software?I had AVG for well over a year in my old Dell Optiplex GX-1 machine running XP (PII 284MHz - 384MB RAM). The program is great, but it demands too many resources in the background. I've since replaced it with Avira and it's much better. The only thing I do not like about Avira that I think could improve is the process to invite you to upgrade. I can't think of the name now because I'm not at my machine now, but I will post details later. I considered Avast! but I changed my mind after fixing a friend's Dell 8300 that was infected with a worm (Worm.Win32.AutoRun.Hr) with Avast! installed. I ended up using the free rescue CD utility from Avira to clean it out, then I replaced Avast! with AVG Free and it worked better. What really made me shy away from Avast! is that the machine got infected even with definitions updated daily via the default schedule. -reply by onemixdj

Game Console Lovers Should just stick to there GamePads!!Playstation 3 Emulator?I agree with you CrashnAZ. It is pathetic to see console lovers rave on about how much better consoles are than PC's when they are technically the same thing, they are both PC's! I personally think my high end gaming PC is better than the consoles that are currently out because it can not only run new games but I can use it for other things such as programming, photo editing, and word processing e.T.C. The PC is indeed not designed for games, it is designed to do EVERYTHING, not just gaming. I just got Need for Speed Shift and I can run it all on high and it looks awesome. I also have my 600Wrms stereo and TV connected to the computer so I can even sit on the couch and play games if I want. I also have a momo racing steering wheel and a decent joystick so there's no need to use a keyboard and mouse although it is still an option. Not only that but with games like Fallout 3 I can add some serious mods to the game that completely change everything, it's like a whole new game. So how are consoles better? the truth is that they are not, they are just more convenient for most people who don't know how to use a PC properly. Also remember the game Farcry? When it can out they had to tone downThe graphics so it would run on the crappy PSP. Don't believe me? checkIt out under "Other versions and console ports"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_Cry. You will notice it looks like crap on the PSP but the PC version looks awesome. Also, a note on these emulators. The emulator mimics the PSP and translates the operations into something the PC can understand, that means the PC has to do the same operations as the PSP would but then performs additional operations so that it can run on the PC, I.E. For a PSP to run on a PC, the PC needs to be of much better spec than the PSP. That is the reason emulators are slow. It's because the PC is doing twice the work of what a PSP would. If you tried putting a PC emulator on a PSP to run PC games you would find that even a PSP3 would not be able to handle PC games that were made five years ago, it just doesn't have the grunt. FYI, I have a PSP emulator that is capable of not only playing PSP games but performs additional rendering that makes the games look 10 times better than the ****ty PSP and I can play my PSP games at a resolution of 1920x1080. I'm trying out a PSP2 emulator at the moment, the PSP2 emulator is also capable of performing additional rendering and will probably look better than the PSP2 as well. Same Issue, 2nd time round...first 16GB one was worse. I5th Generation Ipod!It is interesting to read your report about your I-pod. After returning my first which also had this problem and FM radio that didn't work, I have had it with the 5th generation. Seems to have more bugs, but then with all the extras they included it is no wonder. I expected more from this product and it hasn't delivered. So, back to my 3rd generation and will make do until I can be certain they have a product that works. There is nothing else you can do other than take it back. I didn't spend all my money for something that doesn't work. I'm sure there is a better product out there without all the bells and whistles, that isn't going to give me headaches every time I use it. It was just a waste of time, energy and effort. Wireless network connected, but no wirless internet access.Wireless Router Problems.Hi, I have just got a new Belkin and+ router, and it appeared that things were fine when I installed the software for my wired PC (with XP), except that one step said "internet not connected" although the internet light (like a world globe icon) was on, AND I had access to the internet with this wired PC!! However, the last step in the process asked me if I could connect all my wireless computers to the network. So I installed the software to my son's PC (uses XP in another room) and tried connecting this PC. The "computer icon" in the system tray said connected and "very good signal" but no internet access with Internet Explorer 8. Same problem with daughter's laptop (running Windows 7), but this did not connect to the internet even with my older NetGear RangeMax router (although the wireless PC did). I tried changing the IP addresses to manual from dynamic (as previously set) and put in the correct Default Gateway and DNS settings, but that did not help. I also reset the WinSock after using command promt in DOS. Before all this, I had tried restarting my PC and my router, which made no difference. It seems to me that this might be a common problem (connection to network with wired access to the internet but no wireless access to the internet). Does anybody know the logical steps to determining the cause, and/or finding a solution for this? I would be very grateful for any help. Mike. -question by Mike P
