Acer 5050 laptop will not bootAcer laptop screen not coming up I have an Acer 5050. It will not boot. It will show the windows xp welcome screen, the blue bar will scroll as normal...The screen goes black, the computer re-starts the cylce continues. This will go on until I shut off the computer. This problem started after an automatic update was installed and the computer was re-started. Any ideas? -question by mike

When I go into Playback, the only option I can choose is Speakers/HP properties and when I go there into levels, there is no PC speaker only Speaker/HP, Beep and Microphone. Beep and Mic are on mute already. But whenever my coputer is charging, the noise is TERRIBLE. What can I do???

How to make major buffer increase with fixed 25-30Kb/sec satellite connection?How Can I Increase My BufferWe have a satellite connection that downloads 25-30 Kb/sec (Vista Home) so cannot increase download speed. There must surely be some way we can either download whole segments before playing or cache/buffer enough so it wont play 3 seconds, then download 10 seconds, which is just not usable. Actually, it DOES support DX9, which most games use. Very few, if any, games require DX10. NO GAME REQUIRES PHYSX, NONE, EVER! The difference is in the hardware architecture, and boy is there a difference. You can run Left 4 Dead fine, though it may look like crap, but IDK about PES09. I would think a driver update is in order, you will be fine. Also, just because your cousin is a programmer, doesn't mean he knows about the hardware side of things.

I agree. If you think about it we are the only species on the palnte that drinks milk as adults, of a nother species. Cow's milk is made to take a 90 lbs. Calf to a 900 lbs. Cow in only 11 months... You guys are wrong about the new HDDUsing Same Serial # On Multiple Copies Of WindowsIf you change your HardDrive there's an option for "I have made changes to my hardware" that will update the information Microsoft has, you can even use it when you install XP on a new machine as long as it's not an OEM version. I have 3 2000 Licenses, 11 XP (9 Pro / 2 Home, 4 OEMs), 2 ME, & I've changed the machine they're installed on, changed HDDs, Motherboards, RAM, & the only time I've had problems was once when I read the wrong line & entered an OEM key for a laptop on a desktop machine, when I did an reinstall with an Upgrade disk because it had SP3 on an OEM machine & tried to use the OEM key, in which case it wouldn't even accept it as a valid key & with one version of XP Pro that I used on a machine to test out tweaks & questionable software & got reinstalled probably 50+ times on at least 15 different machines (never more than 1 at a time) before I had to talk to a Microsoft rep for an hour to get it un-flagged as pirated. Also, you can buy another product key from windows without buying another CD, You get the Key in an E-Mail, I've never done it myself, so I don't know if it's cheaper, but I imagine it's cheaper than a Retail purchase and more expensive than a volume license ( 10 License price Divided by 10, 5 License price divided by 5. -reply by LostOnline

And yes, from what I've read, I think it will turn out to be a sad story. The part about Pavel the Jewish waite, helping Bruno with his scrapped knee, and the mother thanking him and telling the man that if there are any questions that she'll say she bandaged Bruno, was particularly emotional.Boyne just has this way of slipping clues as to what's going on in Germany through Bruno's concept of the world. They help the reader to understand just who the child's father is and where they've moved. You are even exposed to a variety of German opinions of the event through the story line. For example, the Christmas party in Berline where we hear the grandmother speak to her son.Anyway, it's a great book and for anyone who hasn't yet picked it up-read it, you'll love it.Good luck ; )-reply by Kyper
