1. I'm sure they do pay out some people so that the cashfiesta morale isn't too low to persuade people to subscribe. The facts are that the bar is total adware and the vast majority of intrenet reviews that are not placed on cashfiesta.com are negative. It's like trying to get anything else decent free out the internet, there's a catch (there are of course always a few exceptions).
2. Part of the URL was cut off. Looks Greek to me. URL: svn.mysql.com/fisheye/browse/mysql-administrator/library/tests/test_restore_backup/r/mysql_41_simple.warrnings.log
3. We don't get tornadoes that are this big but the US gets them all the time; it's a big thing when it happens in our part of the world. Don't you think it would be amazing if monsoons started happening in the North Pole? You wouldn't expect everyone to go "other countries have them all the time, this is nothing."
4. Tornado Hits North London Article Houses were torn, cars were ruined and many people were injured as a tornado hit part of North London, UK. The storm tore off roofs, making roof tiles fall on parked cars and demolish house walls. Around 100 properties have been affected in some way and several hundred people have been evacuated; they were asked to stay with acquaintances or to be taken to the local church hall. A school has been evacuated too. One man is hospitalised after having a minor head injury and should be released at a later date, while five are being treated for minor injuries and shock at the place where the incident happened. Roughly 30 tornadoes hit Britain every year but none are as serious or as news-breaking as this. Thankfully, the storm was fairly localised with only a few streets being effected; however, the families who were troubled by this will have almost certainly had their Christmas plans ruined. 5. Interesting, I didn't know of this until now. To get to Xisto, the request goes through Watford, London, New York, Chicago, San Jose and Los Angeles (presumably). Here's the syntax for the more advanced properties: CONSOLE C:\Documents and Settings\Matthew\>tracertUsage: tracert [-d] [-h maximum hops] [-j host-list] [-w timeout] target_nameOptions:????[/tab] -d Do not resolve addresses to hostname.???? -h Maximum number of hops to search for each target.???? -j Loose source root along host-list.[tab] -w Wait timeout milliseconds for each domain name.Which I don't understand, anyone know?
6. When I was hosted, I liked the fact that the domain didn't sound like a host's domain name and that it was short and catchy. Although I don't mind having numbers in a domain name, some said they do so maybe there should be a selection of domain names (2 or 3). Xisto wasn't a free host when it started and I think that has worked well to its advantage.
7. Nice idea, but I would never use it. If you could somehow combine the results into one frame ie: Google Result 1Yahoo Result 1Google Result 2Yahoo Result 2Google Result 3... That would be useful. It's awkward having to look at two frames and once and unnecessary too; one search engine is good enough.
8. I had one long before this - it's called writing :)Maybe now data about life today will be stored in Records' Offices for centuries to come; historians are worried that in future times there will be no record of life today and this could be the solution. In twenty years time, when current computers become redundant and weighty and this technology doesn't cost millions to buy, we could all be walking around with data-paper in our pockets (I'm sure Hacker and Cracker are wiping their hands in glee already )
9. To add, on every page (almost), the layout changes. Pick one and stick with it through and through. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ All different.
10. I have not battled but have created ~10 sigs over a period spanning about a year (I feel I'm better at other digital artwork). However, I will submit my best: I was very hard to try and do a decent sig in the minuscule 60px height limit, and even then it's not that good; I could make a much better one with a 150px limit.
11. Thank you This is exactly what I've been looking for for months now - no need to continue looking into buying a copy of Window Blinds. It's great and useful and I'm downloading the files now to begin customising. I'll post what I find goes well and wrong. At the moment, it does look worth it.
12. I guess by staying behind by a few years, Microsoft have some sort of advantage over their competitors by knowing what worked well with them. I still have my opinion that it's crap; download it though because, as bad as IE7 is, downloading it closes vulnerabilities that IE6 has. PS Ask yourself, would you pay ?15.50 ($30) for an IE7 addon to auto-fill forms or get Google Toolbar for Firefox free to do it for you?
1 more post till 1,000!
13. Bearing in mind that the makers of IE7 work for a multi-billion dollar company and those at Firefox aren't as rich, which one would you expect to render better? IE7 (displayed under IETab in Fx2) Fx2 What It's Meant To Look Like IE7 obviously They still have yet to fix many problems. Take the test: http://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html

16. Step aside for electriic ink's country mansion! Edit: After uploading I thought that might be too big. If such is so, please use this one (it's 75% of the size):
17. Try this: http://www.phpjunkyard.com/php-click-counter.php It's a simple download counter and it looks very useful.
18. I am fairy sure the answer is no. Someone else might be able to say though; I don't know lots about Javascript.
19. This is how I would do it. There might be a proper function that does it but this method works perfectly well. <script type="text/javascript">// Set variablecolour = "blue";// Delete its contentscolour ="";</script>
20. I don't think that the banner looks queer. It stands out in a good way. Looking at your page with Adblock on, there is an awful lot of space wasted where Google ads are meant to be and I can't believe that they take up all that space; even if they do, you should reduce them (I'm not turning Adblock off to look at a few ads). And, yes, the spelling of Affiliates [not affialiates] does need correcting. Finally, the text content doesn't have any associated formatting (specification of colour, font and size) and it lets down the overall design. However, other parts of the design look great. 9/10
21. You refer to Hallowe'en as a holiday? Explain. No-one gets the day off on Hallowe'en, it's not a nationally recognised event. It's mid-November so of course shops are advertising for Christmas. It's the time when people begin to think about what to buy so and so for it and they need some help deciding.No-one's put up any decorations around here yet and there is a gap between them. Just because shops are advertising Christmas, it doesn't mean it IS Christmas.
22. Let's see For every image you put on a webpage, you must provide an alternative piece of text for the browser to display if the image becomes inaccessible for any reason. For instance for your logo you might have "Logo for my site..." as alternative text. This makes your new code: <div id="logo"><img src="logo.jpg" alt="Logo for my site..." /> </div> You can't give more than one tag the same ID. IDs are unique wherever you are. You need to change one to "rightcol2" or something else. It looks are though you are using them for css which is fine, although I am sure it's preferable to use the class attribute instead. Anyway, once you've changed one of the attributes' values, you need to change your css too: FIND: #rightcol{display:none;}REPLACE: #rightcol, #rightcol2 {display:none;} Same applies as before. Somewhere in your code you opened a <div> tag but didn't close it (ie </div>). I counted one too many open <div> tags by the end of the page. I can't say what closes where, it's up to you. However, the validator suggests it was ID="pagewidth". Close that wherever necessary or remove it altogether.
Screenshots for Fx2.0
23. How We Speak This guide is an easy-to-understand semi-advanced explanation exploring how we speak. The easily bored will be glad to know that it features numerous inexpensive practical activities.
The first thing we do when we speak is breathing in through our noses. To make room for this sudden intake in our air, our "soft palate" which is simply the soft bit on the top and back of our mouths (you should be able to feel this with your tongue).
Practical Activity Stand facing a mirror with your as mouth wide open as possible and put your tongue flat on the floor of your mouth. Ensure that you can clearly see the inside of your mouth. Breathe in through your nose and watch - the part moving down is your soft palate. It should be noticeable; if you can't see it make your mouth wider open; flatten your tongue as much as possible and take deeper breaths in. The air then moves down to your lungs. To make room for this three things happen: your intercostal muscles contract; your diaphragm (at the bottom of the ribcage) flattens and your ribs move upwards and outwards. Your diaphragm is connected to your ribs. On exhalation, the air passes against your two vocal folds (or vocal cords) and a very bland sound is made. Depending upon your age, gender and health, they may open and close anything between 60 and 1,000 times per second. In order to produce a useful and articulate sound, the breath is carried through various hollow spaces: the pharynx (pharyngeal resonator), the nose (nasal resonator) and the mouth (oral resonator). Pharynx This the long, muscular tube that extends upwards from the larynx and is the first resonator the voice must past through. The pharynx can change both its size and shape which affects the quality of the sound produced. During yawning it increases and whilst the neck or throat is tense, it decreases. Practical Activity Yawn and say a word at the same time. This word will have too much pharyngeal resonance. Mouth The tongue is used to do much of the work in the mouth. It is attached to the wall of the pharynx and is very able at making precise and quick movements. The movements are centred in different areas: the tip 9point of the tongue), the blade (below the upper tooth ridge), the centre (partly underneath the hard palate and partly underneath the soft palate) and the back (underneath the soft palate). The soft palate is able to move upwards and downwards the allow room for our to move through the nose during inhalation (relaxing) and to allow air and sound to flow through the mouth during speech (tensing). Nose Will be used when: The vibrating column of air passes through the open soft palate to the nasal cavity. (This only happens in English on "m" "n" "ng") The vibrating column of air pitches on to the hard palate (behind the upper teeth). The vibrations are carried through the hard palate to the nasal cavities. (This only happens with vowel sounds). This will not work when you have a cold and the nasal cavities are blocked. Practical Activity Hold you nose and say "mum", "nose" and "sing". You should hear "bub", "dose" and "sig". This is because there is no nasal resonance.
And that is, briefly, a guide about how we speak. If you have any questions, preferably not too advanced feel free to ask.
