Firefox for the win, it is soo much more better than the rest.

I enjoy having to design the website, from the css sheet. Having all the basics, borders and background colours, to make something which loads fast and is easy to the eye. I also always have some sort of slideshow which is easy to use, just upload the image in a certain folder on your site and it will be added to the slideshow.Always have 2 coloumns, one bigger then the other. The banners sometimes I have them so they change on each load, that random image.php trick. Also I normally add different skins, if the website I design is in one colour, I allow them to change it.

I say, keep the navigation there. It's nice there and would only spoil the whole design moving it. Save your images .png, as you don't get the lumpy style on the images.One i'm looking at you have the main nav at the top with a black background, then a second nav. But the seconad nav has been written out twice, change that and only have one. Which hasn't got it's own background colour, but continues with the logo background grandient.I have no clue what those boxes with the logo are on teh sides, they do nothing to improve the site. I'd say remove that and move the news content ethier more to the right or to the left, then add another column with more features such as latest forums psot and all that.And I agree, you need to add a outer glow of black around the main content onto the background you have. Make the main content box and logo shorter in width so we can see the background.Everything else is fine, good work there.

I like it, very simple design which works perfectly. The website title, you need to make the refelction with less opcaity and move it up abit. The content text you need to have a better margin around, have it 10px inwards. all sides.Also add another bar at the bottom of the content boxes for users to have "Written by ****" or other details. Or you can make it more clear where you would want that.Brillant design, those are only suggestions. Keep up the good work.

I don't really think you can put peoples efforts into percentages. You always do your best to answer a simple sum, you always do your best to answer a difficult one. Doesn't really matter. Part about slacking, you slack on other things which doesn't mean anything to you. So your not trying in the first place. If it's something you like, you are trying. There is no percentages in that, ethier you try, or not.

Typical, you have to have everything free for peaple to to get near your site. The greed of people is unbeleiveable. I personally join sites if they have an active forums and some sort of submissions area, where members post their videos or music. Mainly flash communtity websites I enjoy.

That website is brillant. I love the sidebar feature of actuallying coming out. That ahs really shorten down the amount of links on one page, very useful.Not totally sure, but I can't find the forums. If you do have one, make it more cleaer to find. If you don't GET ONE! This is brillant to keep active and regular members to your site.

Saint_Michael is correct. Php will not be taken over by java. But there is an increase in the use of javascrpt, which is always good. This brings more dynamic websites. SO don't worry, php will be around for a long time yet.

To be frank, it's a crap idea. This login system limits you to login on one PC, or having to register each time on a new computer. Some people are not allowed to download on their computers, whether that be because their banned to do that or their using someone elses computer. This will not catch on, it's a new idea, yes, but not a good one.

You should give the option to change the colour scheme. That would mean more work for you, but allows your guest to personalise the site to what they would like to have. Just start off with the basica colours; black, white, red, blue, yellow and green. You've just used a php3 forums with a simple gradient. Nothing wrong with simple, but there is also nothing with adding something different. For isntance, add a rocket for the new posts simple. As the site is rocekteer, just an idea.

Never used Opera, may start using it thought. Although it is torrent supported, internet explorer is windows supported, which the majority of us have a windows. I would say internet explorer is probably better, but as I mentioned I haven't got Opera. FireFox is the best out of all the browers though, everyone knows that.

I do a mixture of both really. Html to set out the site and just php scripts for stuff which requires me to connect to my sql database and display information. For the html I do mostly <div> with the class from my css stylesheet. For the php scritping, mostly connecting to mysql and displaying data. I really ought to learn more php. I personally vote for Php scritping though, alot more advanced and gives a better feel to the site. Which always changes depending on whats happening to the site.

Got to be careful with host providers which promise free hosting, infact free anything. There is always a catch. Whether that be ads, or limited bandwidth and such. But at least with Xisto you know where you stand. You get the best free hosting as long as you continue to post. It's a fair deal which works perfectly.

I was considering of registering with godaddy, there are tons of sites that have their domain with them. Most of these sites are very professional and all give brillant reveiws about godaday.com. So if you want to go with daddy, I advise so.
