  1. Actually it depends!- I go to Uni in England. There are summer, autumn, winter, and spring here. And I guess I will have to say I like spring. The weather is just better. I can just go out, relax, it's sunny, but not too hot. And I hate suntan. And don't wanna get tanned. haha...so spring is a good compromise. Winter would be ok, if it only snowed, and didn't rain. But well! Today it snowed in the morning, and then turned into rain. It's horrible. I was just soaking and freezingly cold the whole day. - My home country. There are summer (Super hot season), "winter" (hot season), and rainy season. What is good about having rainy season is that it's predictable when it's gonna rain (unlike England, in which it rains randomly) In this case, I like the so-call 'winter'. I think it's not too hot and not too cold. Just about right temperature, and doesn't rain.
  2. I did use laptop at school. I think 1. it's very common, if you are in boarding school, 2. it's necessary, if you are overseas students coming to do highschool abroad....because you'll need inernet and computer to do your own work at home anyway. When I was doing my A-level (Sixth form), I used laptop.
  3. Hey...I have tried banning the IP address, but it doesn't work because people who spam just come in using different IP address eah time.I then disabled the URL link (i.e. when they put in link, other people can't just click on it). Still people don't stop spamming. They sstil post it even though the link is disabled. Now I'm gonna find a way where a post which has link must be approved by us first. But I guess that'll mean that we'll probably end up having millions of requests, to which we have to reject each day...
  4. Thanks very much for your advice. I've looked at it. However, it appears to come from different persons :-(, so i managed to block some. I also noticed that spam are reduced after i disabled HTML, from about 10 a day down to a few a day, but it looks a lot messier, oh well.
  5. Same problem here. I've disabled HTML to stop them putting a link in. But it looks even more messy now as those people wouldn't stop.
  6. Hi, I've had some amount of spamming in my guest book for quite some time. This is very annoying!I wonder if i can do anything to stop it? I have now disabled HTML code in my guestbook so that they can't put a link in directly, but those people haven't stop. It there a way to block spam? Thanks a lot.
  7. lolBut it's quite common development of language, though. People like something short. This has become more common with mobile phone text messages. Sometimes, people wanna fit everything in 1 text, so they use 'alright' in stead of 'all right'...'B4' rather than 'before'Maybe, It's just like 'wanna' and 'want to' or 'gonna' and 'going to'....or 'luv' in stead it 'love'
  8. Hey I hadn't heard about synesthesia before. Does it mean then that you also hae perfect ear (by music definition, which is...you can tell exactly when you listen to music, what notes and chords they are....because you see colour in them?)Sorry I asked about this because I enjoy music a lot. If you don't wanna answer, it's ok.Something I haven't told anyone, I guess nothing. There's always one person who is always there for me to say what I feel and what I think. There's never a secret with him.
  9. Board Games for me : such as chess, and scrabbles.I don't like exercise in general, really. I used to like gym, but then it gets boring when you just do it on your own...I feel that I enjoy badminton or tennis, when you play with peopl, a lot more.Quite like Ice-skating, but thin much more fun when go with friends, than to jut ice-skate on your own.In UK, I cycle to Uni every day. I don't think I enjoy cycling that much, it just saves time.Basically, I think, for me sports are boring unless I use that as a means to spend time with my friends. So I clicked back. And it came back to this. My reply was still there,so I clicked 'add reply' again. And it appeared like that (two posts?!?). Sorry.
  10. My guestbook keeps being spammed for some reasons. Sometimes I get similar messages from random people that I don't know. And they all write same message such as 'thank you very much for your site. It has given me information I need for my school project'. But my website is a personal site. It's about me and my BF and friends. Nothing at all about school projects etc etc. And this very same message will come back again from time to time but from different people. Another message is sth like 'I love you website. It rocks.' Initially, I thought it might be genuine. But same message keeps coming in from soo many people I never know. So I realised it's a spam. Now that I realisd it and jus deleted those messages from my guestbook, it's beginnging to get worse. Now the messages are not HIDDEN spam anymore. They are EXPRESS spam i.e. just long ones with no meaning and nothing...it's just long messages that give sooo many links to 'I dont know where' - I never there to click on those links. I have to keep deleting them. Its really annoying.
  11. When I did my A-level, I got all As.Now at Uni, I have no grades!! believe it or not?But it's just that at Oxford (for law school at least) we don't have exams until end of 3rd year.So end of this academic year, I'll have to sit exams in everything I have done since my first year here. And all the exams are in about a week...i.e. taking 10 papers in 10 days or something like that. Isn't that crazy? Yeah....I'm really scared about it right now.
  12. Completely understand how you feel. I find myself that sometimes I can't manage to get enough posts, which means my account gets suspended. Maybe I'll have to consider the same option since my finals at law school are coming up too. Sad to see you go, but I believe you have chosen the best for yourself. So enjoy it!And come back when you have time ie next holiday or sthBest of luck
  13. well, I do hate racism and since I'm a minority in the country where I study right now (I'm Asian in England). I do feel strongly against racism. I haven't experienced much of it...But I'm really upset when people judge others' people ability based on race.My lecturer once says in my class "you know where I taught befoe, students all got this wrong in exams. (at least 60% got it wrong)But, of course, that university is full of international students...so their english is already not very good and it's all very difficult for them".....I almost just raised my hand and said 'you are racist'.For one thing, all exam papers are anonymous. So even if he marked the exams there, and 60% of the papers got it wrong, how could he have known they were international students' papers? He was just racist. And he himself is probably the worst lecturer at Oxford. However, since I do law and we did theory of punishment before, I don't think people should go to prison for minor racism. But, say, people in the Klu Klux Klan in the US (not all of them, but some members, who carry out violent acts against black people) should be punished. As soon as it gets too much...i.e. violent etc.So it's a question of degree, I think
  14. Hmmm I do read if the topics are interesting and where there're some issues under stake or debate. But I don't read if the topics are quite general and there's nothing to learn from...such as what's your favourite colour. So in those topics, I do reply..and I look at the poll...but I wont'read all other people's posts.
  15. How come there' no 'french' in the poll. It's a second language for most English students (at school). For me, English is my second language...but I have been in England for 5 years now...so it doesn't feel so much like it's a second language...and I wouldn't wanna go to any more English classes...If I were to learn more, I would do french.I have done a bit of it..But I guess French might not be as useful as spanish or even chinese these days..I don't mind chinese...it's becoming more popular and useful ...but...the characters are so hard.
  16. Hey, I think I enter whatever I wanna know at the time...NAme of places etc.But soetimes, when I'm really free and have nothing to do, I google people's names (all those friends from school when we were kids...just wanted to see how they are getting on- of course now you can use hi5 and friend networks stuff...But sometimes googling to see news about them etc can be fun as well
  17. I love musicals....and esprcially those ones by Andrew Lloyd Webber....Cats (memory), phantom of the opera (think of me, the phontom of the opera, wishing you were somehow here again), Joseph (close every door to me, any dream will do), women in white
  18. Coke, fanta, sprite (those kinda fancy drinks) are some of my favourite.I also love Chocolate cream frappucino at Starbucks....(which I don't have very often). But to keep me awake to work, I often need coffee or, even, red bull.
  19. Yeah I know how to cook, since I first came to study abroad.Sometimes I get lazy and just eat frozen food (especially when I have heavy workload)....or just buy food or eat at Uni dining hall.I just learnt to cook sushi last week. It's cool!
  20. It's interesting to see the different terminologies for British English (inches, and stones) and American English (cm and kg) here.Well, although I'm in England now, i never actually know my 'English weight and height' (and I don't have a calculator with me now to calculate). Soo...162cm, 48kg
  21. Hmmm...I'm not sure..I heard you shouldn't eat ice or something really cold.Well, for me just need my pill and food remains the same really.
  22. haha.....Moody, you are funny when you say you are a boy and won't find him hot I'm a girl, and yes I find him incredibly attractive. Really, he's just my cup of tea. I don't know if he's good actor ....because he's always so cute that I forgot to think about his acting skills etc when watching him. Just like looking at him haha
  23. IT was Peter Pan. Peter PAn the whole way through. I watched it over and over every night...and I remember I always waited for him to come (obviously he didn't come). I think he was great. He can fly, he loves his friends...He's brave and he's cute. hahaI haven't watched it for soo many years (many more than 10 years now). After I watched the film 'finding Neverlands', Peter Pan again came vivid in my mind.
  24. I guess you have noticed that a lot of people using "of" instead of "have" when they speak. For example, "The ref should of sent him off".... "He would of come if you go" etc....Okay...it doesn't sound much different when people speak because these "of"s are hardly be heard. But they are now spread to webboard, chatrooms, and i find this really annoying.Wonder what our language will be like when our kids grow.
