Basically I will watch almost anything; unless it's (phrased politely) rubbish (e.g any 'reality' show where they stick a bunch of people in a house / on beach / random generic arena etc) I don't hate all 'reality shows' ok all of them 'cept the Apprentice. probably top 5 at the moment are:1) House2) The Dead Zone3) Stargate SG-14) ScrubsO.k so I got lost at 4.

Trap17 Anniversary Wishing all the best
dontmaimyourself replied to cse-icons's topic in General Discussion
I would first like to say (a belated) Congratulations to all the everyone involved in Xisto, (including memebers, becuase lets face it Xisto would be rubbish if it had no members). I would also like to thank you all for being so great and always willing to help. I hope this community will continue to grow and one day we can rule over the internet [insert Evil Laugh]. -
Unfortunately there is no escape from arrogance, arrogant people are quite literally everywhere, or maybe thats just where I live, I know that at my School they were all over the place, especially the first years, who are used to being the oldest and suddenly are not anymore, it did yet better at college, I thnk that most young people grow out of it. Don't get me wrong their are lots of nice well mannered people around too, you just don't tend to remember them, I also have nothing wrong with joking about it, I myself am guilty of this, but too seriously think you are the best at anything, is just crazy (unless of course you actually are). there that might make some sense (but its probably just insane ramblings).

I'm going to have to go for the good old Google search, now while I also think Gmail is a very useful tool (and by far the best free email service ever) I do not think it has the same level of usefulness that Google search has. Of the up and coming Google tools I will have to go with Google suggest, now while it can be annoying, and I definately do not want it to replace the original Google search I do think it can make searching more intuitive, and if possible for Google, accurate.

While I personally have no problem with this theme, I would prefer it if there was a choice, I do prfer this theme over the default one and I do not understand where this 'geeky' label comes from, and I defiantely do not think it needs more colour especially green, but i still think there sould be a choice, especially if you are going to put a 'skin selector' on each page, I really feel that a selector sould have more than one choice. and while i do agree with the statememt that this is not the greatest templete, I do not class it as 'geeky' and anyway whats wrong with 'geeky'.

Css Ebook The CSS Anthology: 101 Essential Tips
dontmaimyourself replied to frony's topic in Programming
Thanks for that, it sould be a great help to all the people out there who want to learn CSS, or indeed for teaching people who already know most things CSS can to a few new things, and I f you don't already know CSS you really sould learn it, apart from being easier, and some would say 'the future' (to which I tend to agree) it will save you a massive amount of time. no more <font></font> tags, needing to be change on hundreds of pages to update the look of your site. Thanks -
How Did You Learn To Make Web Pages?
dontmaimyourself replied to sunkist's topic in Web Hosting Support
I started with WYSIWYG editors, but then realised most of them were s*** so just kind of picked it up, I read around the internet for a while, searched google stuff like that, made a series of very bad websites, 'borrowed' some code from other sites, got bored at having to change 100's of <font> </font> tags, discovered CSS and everyone was happy, then I went to college and studied it there (didn't learn a thing), I also used w3schools.com alot, if you want to learn HTML, or CSS I would suggest starting there. -
Html Document Fonts How to use special fonts?
dontmaimyourself replied to DoR's topic in Programming
you could simply just make an image with the text in the desired font upload that and place it where you want the text to be. -
Table Width Help table width=100% goes off screen
dontmaimyourself replied to fffanatics's topic in Programming
Instead of using absoultue positioning you could try the float attribute, something like this may do it. #leftMenu {background: url('./images/sidebar.jpg');float : left;left : 10px;width: 150px;z-index : 2;background-color : #000066;border-right: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid white;}#rightMenu {float : right;right : 9px;width: 150px;z-index : 1;background-color : #000066;border-left: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid white;} however when I did this I did not use a table for the center portion, i just used another div element. You should be able to get something close to the desired effect if you tweak that until it is close to how you want it. this was a while ago I did this so it may not be entirely accurate. -
Illiterate Hackers? Are hackers becoming illiterate?
dontmaimyourself replied to kitty's topic in General Discussion
Me grammer good, yes it is true, more and more people are having problems with grammer, be it down to general stupidness, lazyness or the enemy of the english language 'Text Speak' Instant Messangers don't help either, and it is unfortunate for all of my friends that I continually correct anyone who uses incorrect grammer, and no before you start I am not perfect I also make mistakes, but seriuosly if, as it is in this case, said illiterate people are hackers does anyone actually care? this is however important to the rest of the world, I mean if you cant even be bothered to learn your own language what hope do you have for the future, now I am not opposed to abbreviating words, but only if its informal, and never in speech, I mean it is insanely difficult to talk to someone who insits on saying 'lol'. I remember a while back there was a few people who wrote exams in 'text speak' needless to say they failed, but I bet they will never do it again. -
Web Hosting Offer 100 Year Plan thats right 100 years
dontmaimyourself replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
100 years huh, thats a long time, but if you were hosting it here at Xisto you'd run out of hosting credits . Anyway most people will have very little need to register a domain name for that long, plus as said before despite it being for 100 years $9.99 is quite expensive. But i suppose it would be cool to have your own little piece of the 'net' for an entire century. Anyway the rate technology, especially computers develope the internet will must likely be obsolete by then, replaced by some kind of direct brian link to a central database/archive/spam folder. or something like that -
Sub-domain Change Problem
dontmaimyourself replied to dontmaimyourself's topic in Web Hosting Support
well thats what I thought and I cleaned the cache, reloaded but it was still like that, anyway I tried it at college, and it was fine and I just tried it here (at home) and it was fine here so what ever the problem was it was with my computer. (or i possibly imagined it) I guess its one of lifes unexplained mysteries. Anyway since the problem is no over, if a moderator or admin reads this could you please lock/delete this topic. -

dontmaimyourself replied to dontmaimyourself's topic in Websites and Web Designing

New Sig And Wallpaper.
dontmaimyourself replied to dontmaimyourself's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Thanks, anyway I've been busy again and made a few new wallpapers (and edited some old ones), plus I got them up on deviantART: http://antiphase.deviantart.com/ Check them out, My current favourite (and I must say one of the few wallpapers I made to actually make it on to my desktop) is Alternity. Please check them out and tell me what you think, especially if it will help improve my work. -
Mozilla Corporation must have threatened them because I tried a few (about 7) of those in Firefox 1.0.4, and all but one worked fine, the one that did not work and displayed the 'Please try later' message, also displayed that message in IE, so I don't know whats going on, but apart from that I do still hate Microsoft for their crime against the internet.

I am feeling good at this moment, TV's back on following a storm which killed it for a day, I dont have to go to college, and its my birthday on sunday. Still really tired though, I suppose you can't have it all your own way.

its kind of a darkish blue with a slight grey tint, while I cannot state the exact name of the colour you may find this a bit weired, but I can tell you the hexadecimal value for it, so if you want to check out my favourite colour it is: #252A33.

Is This What Longhorn Will Look Like ?
dontmaimyourself replied to john_meikle's topic in Operating Systems
That program has been available for ages for windows xp, and is called Desktop Sidebar, you can download it from: http://desktopsidebar.com/. -
I totally agree with you, everyone should be equal, it just won't happen though mainly because there are people from both genders, who will always abuse this, you've got the guys who only use women for sex, like some kind of object, and all that, or dont realise that the woman is in fact a person and has feelings and opinions, I sure you are all femiliar with it (for which I would now like to apologize, on behalf of all men). But you also have the women who abuse the system, like dont realise that equality works both ways, or when things dont you there way the cry sexism, for instance on the news a few weeks back a woman was sueing a company for ?1m because she didn't get a job, and there's the just plain weired ones, like one time at college I held a door open for this girl ans she says 'I'm female not disabled' (which if you think about it is prejudiced towards disabled people), you see the thing is I hold the door open for everyone, I'ts the way I was brought up (with manners), any way I'm going to stop now and apology's if that is confusing I have no idea what I wrote, I just kind of go and see what happens, I am a big fan of the bible comment though (but thats a story for another more anti-religion post)

I got the a while back, and to be hpnest have not noticed a large speed increase (I'm on dial up though so I'm holding that responsible), however that is not saying this tool does not work, as I did notice a decrease in startup time and slight less memory usage.I do however really like the option to replace the really annoying error pop up with a page that allows you re-try (this is really usefull for us dial-up users who get disconnected all the time). so yeah I liked this tool and found it to be effective in at least increasing the useabillity of this great browser.
