I would also recommend phpBB2, mainly becuase it is free and that there are loads of mods and themes available for it, but I'm sure you already know that. I was never one for Invision but it if you are willing to pay i'm sure it can be just as good, anyway seeing as they are both installable through the cPanel (I think) you could easily try them both out.

I'm not so sure I like the thought of Sony pumping electricity into my brain, but any way it would be cool if video games could have a (seemingly) physical effect on the body (ain't too sure on being shot though (ok so it probably wouldn't kill you but it would hurt like hell). Unfortunately I do not think this will be commercially available for a long time to come. p.s whatever you do don't tell microsoft about this, I mean if they out this in the xbox they could possible (and most probably would) use this to brianwash everyone it to using Windows and Internet Explorer. (if anyone from Microsoft reads this please don't sue me)

Some of you may find this shocking or hard to believe, but I assure you it is true. I actually don't have a Mobile Phone, I find I have no need for one, If this shocked you this will probably kill you. I am only 17, everyone I know has a mobile phone, and a lot of people I don't know probabably couln't get through the day without one, its also not that I can't afford one or don't have the opportunity, I was offered one for my 17th birthday and I turned it down. Oh and by the way don't take this the wrong but if you buy a new mobile phone just because all your friends have one or they have a fancy new trick like they make toast or something then I personally think your an idiot (no offence intended, ok maybe a little). On a side note a friend of mine bought a new mobile phone a few months ago, it cost him about ?180, and within a week it had been stolen, and I know he was my friend but you've got to admit that is a little bit funny.

Before I start I really should tell you that I don't personally believe in a 'God', just so you know where I'm comming from on this. I really think it is (I can't think of another way to put this, but please note I do not mean to offend anyone) foolish to look for blame in things like natural disasters and the like, I believe they just happen, its no ones fault, they are just one of the many risks of being alive. I see very little point in 'satan' who from my point of view doesn't exist. that is just my personal belief and I will always respect the views and oppinions of others and will respect all religions. I would just prefer they didn't try to 'enlighten' me (mentioning no specific religions of courss but I'm sure you all have experianced this) p.s. I know not all religions do this, it is just a small few who believe it is their job to make the rest of the world think the same as them. p.p.s sorry that turned into a bit of a rant agianst religion.

I'v changed the layout slightly to help improve some of the negative comments I recieved...Changes:A] Background is lighter, text is darker.B] Moved the validation images into the main content block.C] Colored the links so they are clearer.D] Fixed width at 700px.It still works ok in Firefox 1.0.6 and IE 6.0, don't know about other browsers though. hope the revised version has cleared up most of the problems. but if not I am more than happy to listen to your constructive criticism, and help to resolve any problems with the site layout.

Thanks everyone for your comments, my biggest worry about the new design was that the validation buttons and the 'site design: ' bit along the top would annoy people. but only cmatcmextra mentioned the validation images not fitting with the background (I intend to change this by the way). also yeah the new layout does look funny in 800x600, but so does the old one. And yes I know neither are very original. anyway I'm going to move the validation images into the main text block (in one of those divisions that go all the way across) underneat the main text. and i'll increase the contrast (while it doesn't bother me, it ain't good design to make some thing that only you like) kind of a mixed reception for the new one, but I hope with a little tweaking it can appeal to a more people.

You probably get this alot but isn't it just as unfeasible, to believe in an afterlife as it is to believe in reincarnation? anyway, incase you haven't guessed I personally do not believe in either, I have a very boring view of life that is your born, you live, you die end of story. I'm not saying that thier is anything wrong with believing in the afterlife, I'm just saying I disagree. I think that everyone is aloud to have their own beliefs and if it differs from mine, I'll won't try to change your mind as long as you don't try to change mine. odd, I was going to say that.

I personally use 'BladeFTP Free V2' which can be downloaded from: http://www.bizunit.com/, I find that it has a very clean interface that is easy to use, alos there are no annoying nag screens as found in other free ftp clients *cough* AceFTP *cough*. Personally I do not like SmartFTP, I find the interface to chaotic, but thats just my preference. but I find that they are all basically the same. p.s. it sucks being a broke college student (I don't know about you) but I ain't getting a job, I go to college so I don't have to get a job.

Cool, sounds like a pretty efficient anti-missile system, would be pretty handy to fire it at an enemy aircraft too (although missiles work to, not against this though). The 'Vigilant Eagle' I would expect to be more useful, lets face it very few of us own an F-15, but quite a few of us would rether not be shot down whilst in a commercial airliner, hopefully these systems will have become common place in airports.

This was really bad in my old secondary (high) school, but it was more less sticking up for your friends and more like 'hey your not my friend, I hate you and am going to make your life hell' fortunately for me I really don't care what a bunch of complete idiots think about me, hell I don't even care what my best friend thinks about me. It is however better in college, maybe because you need some GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education, I'm not sure what equivelents in countries beside the UK) so less idiots get in, maybe its because of people growing up I'm not so sure.

Damn I was goiny to start my reply 'Do I detect a hint of sarcasm ' , anyway I like the way you think (I really really like sarcasm (and no that isn't supposed to sound sarcastic)) any way it does appear that there are a lot of 'excellent' search engines out there which will find you absoloutly nothing (the largest being MSN search). on a side note does anyone know if there is a search engine which returns the opposite of what you search for (if there isn't (and could) I would make one. p.s did I over do the brackets slightly?

Regarding the new IE screensgot, I personally hate it, I mean they've broken an alredy messy interface, it kind of implies to me that they have though 'we don't care how its implemented just give it tabs' I mean thats a really messy place to put them, I would have preffered a blatent rip of the Firefox GUI than this, That is obviously just my opinion.Don't get me wrong I'm not just out to get Microsoft, I actually like the new Hotmail Interface, looks really smooth and easy to use, I really like the dual 'inbox' and 'reading pane' idea (which I know is nothing new). I hope they stick with this as I am not a big fan of the current Hotmail GUI.

I would bet everything I own that this is going on somewhere, the most worrying thing for me is that the large majority of army developements eventually end up 'on the market'. I don't know about you but I don't fancy someone reading my mind (the ordeal will probably kill them, theres a lot of weird s*** happening in there I can tell you), although I suppose I could just get me some Pyrokenisis and kill them before they get the chance. I would tend to agree that this would be a sign that google have acknowledged the sucess of firefox, and I am glad to see there is an official google toolbar for firefox.

wow I wish I was that lucky, my neighbours never let there whining little rat-bag (yes dog again) in side the house, it barks quite literally all the time, and then they play their terrible 'dance' music (that I can only describe as a crime against music) a like 3 in the morning (doesnt keep me awake though my insomnia takes care of that). Anyway the point is that you are not alone and yes it is massively annoying.

I personally prefer MSN messanger, ok so it has some bad points (mainly the ads, and the fact that its a complete rip of Yahoo Messanger) but for some reason it just manages to be competant (ok compared to other Microsoft products) but any way if I used Yahoo messanger I'd have no-one to talk to.

I've got 1024*786 on a good old 17" CRT monitor, I've never actually tried 800*600 on this monitor because a friend of mine had it like that on 15" CRT and the hugh text everywhere was really annoying, so when I got this computer the first thing I did was check the resolution, (it was 1024*768 by the way) and I've never changed it.

I would personally go for phpBB for general ease of use, and overall goodness, I do however like invisionfree is probably technically better, I like the freedom that is offered by phpBB, as it is a free product not a free version of a comercial product and as such you have more freedom to theme and to 'enhance' the functionality of the forum.

Heres my understanding of the situation feel free to point and laugh if I am incorrect, but Mozilla is not actually a company its a non profit organisation which co-ordinates the developement of the Firefox web browser which is open source, and therefore cannot be bought. And anyway if Google wanted the Firefox source code they could just go here and get it. But that could possibly be incorrect. Anyway if that happened somepeople somewhere would most likely break away and start again, well they did it before with Netscape, they'll do it again with Google. Plus you can just keep using Firefox 1.0.5

I use BladeFTP 2, it gets the job done, and its free. I have used SmartFTP before but just did not like it, I don't know why, just a personal thing. and I have also used AceFTP Freeware, but it has annoying adverts all over the place and a really annoying nag screen which opens when you close the program.
