  1. Is there a way to validate dynamically created fields using javascript?I tried using a for loop but the problem is these dynamically created fields are not under the form tag. Because I am using the innerHTML of a div tag to create these fields. How can I validate them?
  2. I am sure they have a plan to detour the asteroid away. Don't worry about when the world will end, just live life to the fullest, that is what I would say. Enjoy every moment of it, and appreciate it. Technology would be much more advanced in 10 years time, much less 30 years. Have faith in NASA, we should be blessed to be able to actually see when an object is actually reaching a possible impact with Earth, this way we will have time to prevent the disaster and I am confident nothing will happen
  3. I have learnt to totally ignore them when the stares just come. But if I feel uncomfortable with their stares, I would just reciprocate the favor. But nothing is more beautiful than love itself, nothing can deny that.
  4. This isn't a very feasible idea in my opinion. I strongly discourage it!It is basically plagiarism you are trying to promote here. A homework p2p site whereby you download others and you qualify for it if you have a homework submitted. The main thing is more people would abuse it rather than actually try to learn from it. How many of us would actually want to spend 3 hours doing an essay which we can get for free in a mere second. We could be spending that 3 hours playing games or something more interesting than writing an essay. The idea seems to be more of something closer to a warez site than a homework exchange site. Barring teachers from visiting the site is the same as barring the copyright companies from going to these warez sites. With all that aside, you have to understand that the world is a big big place. Not every education system is the same, for e.g. Singapore and USA have different education system, focus and teaching methods. Even their grading scheme is not marked the same way, how would an essay from a top US kid help you to actually learn anything if their scope is different, their focus is not like yours and on top of that, the grading system is different? I find it very difficult to learn in this manner. To download and keep another person's work, how easy is it for that person's style to be incorporated into yours? We would probably just submit this homework.I hope you see where I am coming from. This idea does not benefit the students in anyway, what is the point of self-research, brainstorming and creative thinking for if they have access to such a site.
  5. I have already tried this software and the fact that is a 'shareware' does not help much. And their voice removal does not actually remove the singing version of the song. Any other suggestions or maybe some technical explanation as to how I can go about doing this would be good.
  6. I have just had a quick glimpse on the site and they said that <!--[if IE]> handles IE 5 - IE 6, but what about IE7? Does this handle IE7 as well? I am pretty much settled on this problem being fixed even if it has, without using the conditionals, but I would like to use this conditionals, so that it does not in 1 way or another break apart my css.
  7. I am sorry if I have confused you with my title. What I meant was to create multiple form elements for submission using javascript. I have already achieved it, adding elements in a form dynamically, and with their own unique IDs by means of a for loop and a variable. Is it possible to have access to these 'javascript added' elements? Can they function like normal form ids placed in the body tags?
  8. I think it is coming to me now. Originally, I have the style.css to handle all my visuals but IF the browser detects it is using IE7, it will also call the ie7.css which will overwrite whatever is written in the #bottom tag in style.css? Am I right to say that? And lets say I want it to call this ie7.css when it is using IE6 or lower versions, how do I put it?
  9. Is there a way I can submit multiple forms at once? For e.g. I click on a dropdownlist to generate 6 forms (I have done this) using Javascript, but I am not sure how I can define each form with a name and their action. Is it possible to do this and if so, can you enlighten me further?
  10. The style basically controls the look and feel of my entire weblog. Shouldn't the Ie7 style also consist of almost everything in my original style with the exception of the bottom tag?
  11. I am looking for a free software which is able to remove a voice in a song? To just keep the tune, something similar to the karaoke, I do know that not many songs provide only the tune for which there isn't any singing. I have been searching for quite some time as well, but the programs I found did not do just that. I have also read about how impossible it is to achieve with the programs because they only filter out some frequencies and it isn't possible to filter out to the point that only the instrumental part of the song is heard. But nonetheless, I hope someone can come out with a good solution to my problem
  12. Thanks for all your replies, it does clear some of the doubts I am having. But the problem why I have difficulty in implementing zyzzyvette's code is because Wordpress does not work on 1 .htm page, there are many .php pages like sidebar, footer, index, page, header .... etc to basically make up the index page. I have just checked the header.php and this is the way it is retrieving the stylesheet <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?>" type="text/css" media="screen" /> I am not too sure how I can link in another stylesheet without making the values static. Can anyone advise?
  13. MusicOnly, I did not design that template, I got it off a site as a theme download and am using it in my blog. I could never be capable of designing something like that Matak: In the css, the code (clear:both;) is already in there so that isn't a solution. Thanks anyway I didn't exactly understood how I could implement zyzzyvette's solution but I changed this line of code in my style.css and it is working for me in IE7. #bottom { /* clear: both; */ float: left !important; float: none; width: 760px; height: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; background: #031545 url(images/separator_green.gif) repeat-x 0 0; border-top: 20px solid #fff; text-align: left; color: #fff; } I have just validated this and it appears to be xhtml 1.0 strict compliant, but I am interested to know how you implemented those conditionals. Would you mind sending it to me to my email (limetouch[at]gmail[dot]com).
  14. I can't get rid of the footer, that would deal a huge loss to my site. Here is the image It is funny that IE6 doesn't have a problem and IE7 has.
  15. Take a look at my site http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ View it in Mozilla Firefox, it is fine. But view it in IE 7, you will notice the footer is making the site look disgusting. How can I solve this problem? Appparently, the footer starts after the post entry is ended, while in firefox, the footer starts after the end of the sidebar which is what I am trying to do. However I am not too sure how to do it in IE7. Can anyone advise me?
  16. When I read this, I too though that the world has lost its mind. Microsoft Firefox 2007 professionl? It is just encapsulating the logo of IE into Firefox and also the interface is just like IE 7. Before you forward this around the world, it would be nice to know that this is a joke. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Microsoft-Firefox-2007-Was-Launched-39931.shtml Why would Mozilla sell the best browser in the world to their direct competitors? And with all honesty, IE 7 is nothing compared to Firefox in terms of design, functionality and security; Firefox rules everything. Just a lame attempt to gain some attention really. How pitiful.

    Iphone

This looks like a really cool pda especially with the multiple touch screen feature. A real pity that the camera is only deemed 'average' at 2.0 mega pixels but then again, we have the Digital Cameras for that; so I am not complaining. Anyone knows how much this beautiful thing costs in the US right now? An IPod within another device, how expensive is that going to be? I have always wanted to have a hand in getting a PDA after my traditional use with Sony Ericsson mobile phones. The only thing I wonder is whether Apple would be provisioned by our telcos in Singapore, it has not come out in Singapore yet and I am certain it will sooner or later. But then again, I have a dilemma to make, to delay the purchase of my 1st MAC or to wait for this IPhone. I would probably be using my Sony Ericsson K800i for at least another 2 more years, so I guess this IPhone can wait, although I can't wait to see how it works. Too bad Apple doesn't have a demo site whereby I can try out the phone features just like in the Sony Ericsson website.
  18. This is a good feature even if I think it was not needed, as by then, many of us are already used to seeing the ads and didn't mind it. Only a minority was having some issues due to the kind of content they are looking at, and obviously have their younger children to care about. It works well for the layout, no more having images below posts, forums ... etc whatever you call it. Is this a temporary solution since it is based on the fact that Xisto - Web Hosting is bringing in a lot of business? Should their business not be as bustling like recently, will there be a change to go back to seeing ads on Xisto forums? Not that I mind though.
  19. I just read wikipedia. So in short, Web 2.0 is not anything definitive in the web. It is just a term used for the new age of websites, a theory if you will. It is just a way to enhance the experience of a visitor to a site, using things like podcast, rss ... etc
  20. I don't think you are able to destroy the internet unless you destroy every configuration in the world which is not possible seeing as there are so many countries in the world and so many servers to take down. If anything, the internet will be destroyed by a national phenomenon, and not by mankind. The Taiwan earthquake was a good example, it crippled South East Asia's connection for a few days and it took time for them to actually fix it. At the same time, they had planned backup connection cables, although not as fast as the original, but it provided a stable alternative. Following this incident, I am sure they willl build more backup cables to assist in situations which may occur like the earthquake. But imagine 6 earthquakes occurring at the same time and hitting each continent, if that ever happens (unlikely) but lets not rule that out, our internet connection would be gone. If 1 day, we ever found a way to be transmitting information over the internet through the air instead of using cables, then there could be a solution that we may never ever get our internet connection down due to a natural phenomenon.
  21. I am not exactly pursuing Nursing as my degree, I am more to IT but my girlfriend is and I suppose I can give you an insight into it since she talks quite a lot of it to me. My girlfriend have had to enter a 3 year course study at the institution she was studying in. And during these 3 year course, there is a fair amount of theory and practical which you have to go through. So in short, she was attending school and also going for attachments/internship with hospitals to get 1st hand experience on being a nurse. And of course there is a lot of places to go, some fine examples: A&E (Accident & Emergency), Operating Theater, Mental Health, Cancer Wards .... etc The reason why I did not choose Nursing would have to be simply the memory work is tough, so many names of medicines, disorders you have to remember, that is something I am not able to. I am not sure what are the subjects/modules she took but I can remember some: psychology, health sciences, human behaviors ... etc are some she took. In Singapore, the job is indeed rewarding, it is a stable job. Whenever you go, you will always be able to get a job because this is a job whereby it is universally recognized and in wanted. Hospitals can even bond you to them, by paying you to study, yes a good 900+ SGD comes to you, but you can't fail any subjects. And after you graduate, you get an automatic job with the hospital for 2-3 years, not too sure about the duration. Of course, when I speak of all these, I can't talk much about the experience as I have not gone through it. BUT if you want to be a nurse, you have to be prepared to do the dirty work and doing up the responsibility because it is very likely the older nurses would bully you. But then again, if the joy of helping people is stronger than the pain of doing more work, I guess this is the work for you. I hope this will help you in your future choices.
  22. Is it safe to assume the solution to my problem would be to purchase a new PSU which is able to generate more power for my components such as my graphics card? I have been using this PSU for the past 5 years now, and as with all computer products, as time passes, so does the credibility of the component, they get lousier and lousier, wear off as I would call it.
  23. I have read up on many sites, but I am unable to confirm its actual purpose. Is it a new standard, something which we can follow like xhtml? Or is this a list of functionalities to bring websites into the new age making use of stuff like RSS, Ajax, Socialisation (Del.icio.us) ... etc? What is actually Web 2.0?
  24. I do not think this is the problem I am actually facing because when I upgraded my graphics card, a professional fixed it up for me so there shouldn't be such problems you are mentioning. I am just wondering whether the computer would crash if the PSU output power is not enough for the Graphics card? Lets say for my case; the PSU output power is 400W while the Graphics Card minimum power is 400W, any sort of overpowering by the graphics card would cause my computer to restart automatically? I have realised when I changed the settings of my graphic card not to render too much details, it has not crashed at all. I just need to double confirm whether this is the actual issue before I buy another PSU, definitely one which can supply more power to the motherboard.
  25. If there is anyone who fancies an online game, and is staying in Asia; feel free to PM me. The reason because the experience is to have no lagging and outside of Asia, the connection would be very bad, and we would end up not having fun at all.
