Well, maybe it wouldn't be an alternate universe. Maybe ours just goes on forever.

Look, I don't know your parents, but I'm guessing they want what's best for you. I don't always get along with my parents, and they're always pressuring me to be better even though most people think I'm perfect and everything... anyways, you might not see your mom's logic, but she's probably right if you just come home and surf the internet or play games that it's a waste. As for the "envelope" lectures, you just gotta put up with it... sorry.
-
Uh, look. You're really just acting brattish. Don't you ever want time away from THEM? Or else you're not a teenager yet and you have to be entertained constantly. I remember when I was that way. Your parents devote their entire life to you. They deserve some time off every once in a while.
-
I dunno how to fix your problem, but, as I'm assuming you've already told him to go away, I would just try to avoid him as much as possible... I dunno. I know some really bratty kids, and as long as you don't pay any attention to them, they'll go away. Is this "friend" mentally retarded or something? Just make it really clear to him that you hate him and, well, if he keeps being annoying, just try to structure your life so he's never around you, I guess.

Uh, well, you've got a point... I guess I'll agree, but you also have to agree that this is a really random topic idea. Anyways, I think it's pretty therapeutic for your body (read: sauna) to take a long, hot shower, plus it's relaxing and when you get out you feel squeaky clean.

Fable was a pretty good game, though I think it was just beaten out by Jade Empire. It really depends what types of games you like. I mean, I like Halo 2 lan parties, but I really don't think it was that good of a game. It doesn't look that great, it's glitchy, and I think it can get old after a while. Also, I almost don't want to play it because it's so darn popular. It's ok, I guess, but I'd have to say either Fable or Jade Empire. Both those game are somewhat open-ended, have amazing graphics, and are fun to play.

Um, it deducts them. And, yes, you shouldn't be posting such off topic spam. I'm an admin on another forum, and I'd probably warn you for that... Just, while you're at Xisto, obey the rules, it makes life better for all of us. thanks.

Uh, this morning I got up at 6:30, got dressed, ate breakfast, cleaned up a bit, and went to school. So, yeah, pretty boring. I could actually write paragraphs about interesting stuff that happens in my day, but I think anyone who isn't my friend who actually cares to read needs to seriously get a life. Anyways, I'm in school right now, so, whatever. School's fun, I guess.

Teach Yourself Martial Arts? Is It Really Possible?
cangor replied to Webber's topic in General Discussion
I don't really think you can teach yourself martial arts. In chinese, the term "kung fu" doesn't mean a martial arts master. It just means something like "a master." You can become a master of kung fu just by meditation and learning. However, you cannot become a master on your own because that would require that you can teach yourself. You instead need a master who can instruct you. If you're talking about martial arts, you definately need a master to point out flaws in your technique, etc. -
:)Anyways, it's a cool language to learn, and it'll probably come in handy someday.

So, yeah, I'm learning Chinese and thought I would share a bit of my knowledge with everyone else... Note that some things may not appear unless you have the Chinese language pack on your computer. Anyways, in chinese everything's written in Chinese Characters, (like this: 你好) so you have to learn all the characters, along with how to say each word. 你好 is an expression that means hello. So, anyways, I'll use it as an example... The first part is the 你. This is pronounced Nǐ. It means "You" and the little thing above the "I" is the tone mark. The hardest part of chinese is the tones. Basically, You have to make the tone of your voice follow the mark. Here's a website which has a spiffy little applet that pronounces tones: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The second part of the word, 好, is pronounced Hǎo, and means good. The "a" has the same accent mark as the "i" in Nǐ. This accent mark means pronounce with a falling, then rising tone... But anyways, that can be kinda confusing... Here's the shorthand version: 你好 = Nǐ Hǎo = Hello And one last thing... The pronunciation written in roman characters (the "Nǐ Hǎo") is called pinyin. The rest of the words I have are written in Pinyin. So, here are some more phrases. Chinese Classroom Expressions Survival Chinese Uh, since this is really complicated, please ask any questions... Oh, and since a lot of characters might not show up in the forums, I attached a file with the stuff in it. Notice from jlhaslip: edit to add quote tags. Lists should be quoted, regardless of the language

English vocab quiz... Ok, I know how you feel. The exact same thing happened to me, and it was only 20 vocab words! Most people got, like, a D, and then tried to grovel for half an hour only without avail.Ironically, I only got marked down for not writing clearly... Oh well, that's life, and English'll always be easy.

I thought we already knew North Korea had nukes...Anyways, I don't think the same methods of deterrance used in the Cold War and whatever are going to work anymore. So, we might just blow ourselves up, in which case there will be nuclear winter, so you could say that North Korea + Nukes = total death = no Xisto.Maybe?

Who Will Disarm Hizbullah? Give your opinion
cangor replied to alexviii's topic in General Discussion
Uh, everyone, just a note, it's Hezbollah, It seems that you have no idea what you're talking about, even if you do. Next time, check... Hisbullah is correct, too, but it's definately not Hezbaulla. At least in the US... Are you in a different country, because I know you can use Hizbullah, but generally it's Hezbollah... Just translation differences I guess.Anyways, as far as the answer is concerned, I would say that the answer is none of those... There's really no resolution in sight... Honestly I think there's just going to be a lot more fighting... These people don't want peace. -
I hate it when people misspell your and you're as well...People just don't care...I also hate people at school who stand right next to each other and walk really, really slow while talking - they're like blood clots blocking all the people behind them...
-
Wow... Wierd... Well, I can say I learned something new today. :)Thanks.

Ya, well, there are some real freaks out there... The guy must have been really messed up, so...

Yeah, I think's that's pretty obvious that procrastination is bad... I don't procrastinate too much, but I think most people do. It's natural, but can really cause problems... What Is The Fourth Dimension? something like a hypercube...?
cangor replied to apexbug's topic in General Discussion
I didn't read all the replies, so I'm not sure anyone's posted this yet, but anyways, try checking out the website: http://www.tenthdimension.com/ There's a pretty good explanation of all the alleged dimensions, though most people get lost at around five or six... -
What Is The Weirdest Thing You Eat? regularly or occasionally.
cangor replied to arnz's topic in General Discussion
Well, I eat most anything, so I really can't say what's wierdest. From a health-food freak standpoint, maybe raw oats in milk, or maybe just from the general perspective drinking molasses in milk. I eat most anything, anyways, the only foods I really hate are celery, celery seeds, and caraway seeds. Go figure. -
Blu-ray's expensive, I guess, but in my humble opinion it's better than HDVD - sony also seems to have a track record for choosing the best new media, and I think that'll hold through with the Blu-Ray.

Seriously, saying "bless you" when you sneeze isn't religion - it's culture or a social thing... And you shouldn't be so intolerant of religion. Just because somebody says "I'll pray for you" doesn't mean they're saying you're a christian... it's just something nice that nice people say.

Who Thinks Dope Should Be Legal Your opinion
cangor replied to The69_er's topic in General Discussion
Well, I dunno, I guess... I really think that it's ok as long as it doesn't harm anyone else, but if you take drugs chanes are you are going to end up going for a leisurely drive and crash into somebody else or do something stupid like that... plus, it's just not good for yourself. In a perfect world I'd say it's ok, but this world isn't perfect. -
Yay for google... I've been a loyal google user for, like, six years now, so, and I agree google is the best
