  1. yeah, I'd use uTorrent. Just google for it, it's lightweight and nice. This movie thing sounds really cool. I'll have to check it out.
  2. I used to do a lot of ascii art. I still do a little, but it can be very time consuming to do something impressive, and I don't have that much time anymore.
  3. yup. I can't really do anything worthwhile in that .1 seconds or whatever, so... like everyone's said, what has the better results??? That's the one I use.
  4. I think Bacarra's mostly right. What I would do is think if I really would want to go out with this person then I'd ask them, really honestly, if they're being serious. If the girl is totally an immature type, then I wouldn't go out with them anyways, because I just wouldn't like someone who was really immature, so you could just say "no" with the tone of "are you insane?" in your voice. But I think she might just really like you.But I'm just getting myself confused right now... Let's take this a step at a time...Is she semi-mature acting?- If yes, then she's probably serious and just really likes you.- If no, or, if you're having "a lot" of girls ask you out at once, it could just be a joke, but I don't think that's the kind of joke girls would play on you if they thought you were dorky or a loser or whatever, so...Do you want to go out with her?- If you would say yes just because you want to go out with anyone, then I'd say you shouldn't say yes because that would mean you're not really mature enough to be in a relationship yet...- If you wouldn't, then RUN, MAN, RUN!!!But you really didn't post enough information about yourself? Is this in high school? How many girls have asked you out? Just one, or twenty? And, as a final note, I really don't know a lot about your situation because you're being really vague, but I think a lot of girls might just ask you out because they like you and, hey, that's great, and you shouldn't feel it's wrong at all... If you think you're being teased or played I'm sure we can give you some help on dealing with that, but you need to talk! Tell us more, don't be so vague!
  5. Yeah, I agree. Some metal music is just plain unwholesome, as FolkRockFan says, but it's not the beat of the music, the instruments, or the genre that defines this about music - it's the meaning and words associated with it...So, yeah, from a christian standpoint, metal might be evil if it's saying "let the spawns of hell come forth," but it could also be about something nice, cute, furry, and fluffy, like bunnies... imagine metal music "I like my bunny, he's quite a hare..."or something... basically, I agree that it's wrong to say an entire genre is "evil." One would really have to listen to a song and decide for themselves what they think - does it align with their values or not??
  6. That's really cool, but I don't really know if 82 cents per DVD is going to be enough to solve this problem... I guess it's the thought that counts, but they're still in it for the profit, and perhaps they're just doing this to sell more copies of their movie... if they're only donating say, 5% of the cost of the movie, then it will probably end up that their sales will be increased under the guise of charity work by more than five percent, so they'll be making more money because people feel good about buying the product...Sad, really, but at least it's towards a good cause.
  7. I think there may be a tiny bit of global warming due to human development, but not to the extent "they" would like us to believe. The polar ice caps are actually GROWING, and we're just in a slightly warmer cycle. If you look at a chart, we've only been warmer than average for two years in a row, and this year will probably be cooler than average. So, though we shouldn't pollute on purpose, anything we're doing, at least in the US, isn't going to have much effect on global temperatures. However, it may impact human health if you've got something like Acid rain, but you can have emissions from cars and factories and you shouldn't get anything nasty like that.
  8. Okay, you know what, I think this guy should really get the death sentence. What he did was despicable, scummy, absolutely everything evil you can do. Normally, I wouldn't advocate the death penalty that much, but we need to show the Iraqis what we do when our soldiers do stuff like this, or they'll just hate us more. This guy is scum, and I don't think scum like that deserves to live. Then again, maybe life in jail will give him time to think about what he did, and feel regret. IF he even can.
  9. Haha. No, seriously, this is really cool. Thanks for the interesting tutorial. I'm so doing this!
  10. I love dreams... dreams for me are always so vivid that I feel like I'm actually there and sometimes I even have trouble telling if I'm dreaming or not. And in my dreams good things usually happen. What really doesn't make me happy is when I wake up from a really good dream and I want it to go on but now I'm back in my normal perhaps good perhaps bad day and I have to go work.
  11. I dunno, I think some people look a little better with makeup, but I don't really know if it's worth it. Most of the girls I hang around don't use or don't need makeup, and I think natural beauty is a lot more appealing. Then again, I think real beauty is in someone's personality. I can't stand "beautiful" people who have no personality or are totally self-absorbed. Sickening.
  12. Yeah, you know, everyone's saying they're against any kind of surgery except if it's to fix like a disfigurement or something, and I wonder how many of us will think that when we're fifty and wanting to be twenty again, but at least for now I would never agree with anything like botox or plastic surgery unless it's absolutely necessary to correct some sort of major disfigurement. You can do plenty of stuff to make yourself look better without having to pay for expensive treatments or surgery.
  13. Ya know, I would actually listen to the people who are close to you for this, but if that's what you want to do then it may be the best thing. You seem to be in a pretty bad position financially, and so I guess joining the Air Force or military may be a reasonable decision. There's also the fact that you would be serving your country, which is great and everyone should appreciate that.Ultimately this is your decision and you should think by yourself what you should do. Good luck!
  14. Even if you're not looking in the context of morality, just think: why do we have men and women? To procreate. If human beings were intended to be homosexual then there wouldn't be two sexes.
  15. Mostly, when a person tells me they have no religion, they aren't atheist, they just mean that they have some system of beliefs or philosophy which isn't part of an organized religion. I guess atheist does have a bit of a negative connotation, though.
  16. I'm not sure, but I think from what I know you're:1) TOTALLY overreacting2) Probably discounting Robert's abilities to make yourself feel better.3) Not in this club for the right reasons1)Okay, it's not that big a deal, and, great, you vented out your anger, but it's probably misdirected...2)I have a hard time believing the current president and vice president as well as your advisor think you're less qualified than someone else unless you actually are. Maybe robert shows up late, but maybe that's because he has a job or he's actually interested in botany or agriculture or whatever, which brings me to point 3, and I might rant a bit here on my own...3)DON'T JOIN A CLUB IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY INTEREST IN THE TOPIC!!! I HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE people who do this kind of thing JUST SO THEY CAN PUT IT ON THEIR RESUME OR WHAT THE **** EVER.Now, sorry, but you shouldn't be in this club in the first place if you're not interested. I know people who do that and they're all lazy, hated by everyone, full of themselves, and whatever. Nobody likes them except MAYBE their little gaggle of friends. And did I mention they're full of themselves and think they're better than everyone else even though they aren't?Don't be that kind of person. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you aren't and this Mr. Lynn is a moron, but, well, maybe he's right.
  17. There have been a lot of really good ideas but a lot more really (in my opinion) dumb ideas in this posting. First off, don't try lying and saying you're gay. First, she'll probably still like you, second, she probably won't believe you, and if she does she might go around telling everyone or something. Girls who are that clingy are unpredictable. And plus, if you're a straight guy and have the spinelessness to say you're gay then you're an embarrassment to all straight men. Only say you're gay if you actually are. Don't try to be or pretend to be something you're not.First step is obviously to tell her you don't like her back. But that probably won't work.Second... how obsessed with you is she? If she keeps clinging to you no matter what then it's kinda a problem, but that doesn't mean you should try to annoy her, do something that will change her view of you, etc. Other girls probably won't like you if you are really annoying or rude to her, and seriously, don't do something just to make her stop being clingy in front of a lot of people... someone suggested this a while back, but, once again, don't be something you're not.If she's not too obsessed, just, tell her again, "Listen, I don't like you, and it annoys me how you're always obsessing over me. I don't want to hurt you, but you should know that there's no way I'm going to like you right now, and it'd be best for both you and me if you just moved on."Say that with conviction... Unless she's a total freak she should at least respect the fact you're being adult about it, but if she isn't then I'd just start telling my friends about it... kinda subtlety, but just say that she's always obsessing over you and it bothers you and then tell people what you said... Anybody decent will see that she's the crazy one and not you. Hopefully she'll lose interest after a while and if she doesn't, well, then at least your public image won't be scarred.
  18. I'm not sure anybody's said this yet because I don't have time to read all three pages of posts, but I definately believe gun ownership should be allowed without much restriction. The reason is that, besides it's just a right, when they took guns away in australia, crime went up 600 percent. If people want to take away guns to lower crime, it's just not going to work.
  19. Yeah, we may have to do this eventually, but in this generation? The next generation? Three hundred years? Possibly, but probably not. The bottom line, we've got a lot bigger things to worry about here at home.
  20. Hey, look, I love life, and I don't care enough to go into space if I knew I wasn't coming back. Someone else can do that and be famous, but, eh, not for me...
  21. As far as I have been in my linguistic pursuits, any cd course is pretty much worthless. I am gifted with learning languages, but I just need a textbook and maybe a teacher to learn. These work better than any audio or video course... If you try to learn a language from tapes you're not going to be able to get around at all because you can't read likely and your vocabulary is going to be limited to phrases and you won't be able to carry on a conversation at all. If you're serious about learning a language, the best way is to take a real class, and maybe buy some CDs on the side to supplement your learning.
  22. Dumbeldore: I axe you, is there anything wrong with this sentance? Well, basically, I don't really like the way slang is either, but, hey, it's like insomnia in that it's nothing to lose sleep over. Bad joke. My opinion: Just don't let it bother you. If you hang around with people who talk slangishly, then you're probably going to talk like them too. In speech I don't care. I DO care in writing, however. I hate it when I see people write "your a bad person" or "he would of done it but he didn't" in essays... Grrrrr...
  23. Trust me, you would hate a family member who smokes even if you don't smoke. I'd know. Especially if they live around you, just the stench is disgusting. I don't hate people in general who smoke but I hate people who smoke who seem to go out of their way to be annoying to everyone else with their carcinogenic scent. And if you live with someone who smokes, it's nearly as bas as smoking yourself, so that's actually a really serious thing.
  24. Why would he do that? I dunno, but if he's that paranoid/crazy then it's probably because you've done something to lose his trust in the past. I'm no expert, but I know most parent's won't do that for no reason.
  25. Okay, you all seem to think IE is so popular, but at least among the demographic that visits my site, there are nearly as many people use firefox as people who use IE, so Firefox is definately becoming more popular and IE less so... Internet Explorer isn't as popular as it used to be. More people are using firefox now because it's simply better. People still use firefox because it comes with their computers, but people are getting smarter.
